Speaker Setup

Hi, i got a Soundblaster Elite Pro and the T7900 Speaker-Set. Unter WinXP i can setup my Speakers with the Programm Speakersetup. I can set the Volume (db) for every Speaker seperatly.
I missed the Programm or Function under Windows Vista64. In installed the lastest Drivers.
Where i can set the Speakersetup or i need install a programm from the Creative Webseite?
Or is this Function under Vista64 not availible?
Thanks a lot.

Keep in mind that the speakers have to be powered in order to plug them directly into the AX. If they are not powered, like if they are not computer speakers, but wall or ceiling speakers or regular stereo speakers, then they will need to go through a receiver first (in order to get powered) and then from your receiver and into your AX. This requires the apple stereo jack or cheaper equivalent found at most Radio Shacks.
I also have Verizon with AX and two sets of JBL ceiling speakers that run into Denon receiver and then into the AX. Love it! I have two separate locations of speakers and use the A/B speaker button on the receiver to determine where in the house the music is piped in. This prevented me from having to purchase two AX's. Now naturally, I have to manually make the switch if I only want the music in one room or another. Usually I leave it on for both areas (one is indoor and one is outdoor).
Good luck and enjoy!

  • Simple speaker setup for ATV?

I understand if I get bumped because this post isn't ATV-related... But I argue that other ATV users might find this thread helpful. So...
I purchased a new HD TV, one that I will use solely with Apple TV. I want better audio than the built-in speakers. Since I'm not going to need AM/FM radio, CD player, etc., I don't need or want a traditional AV receiver.
I want a 2-speaker speaker setup that can accept an optical audio connection (from the Apple TV)... and that's it. I've seen computer-type speakers that accept a 2.5mm audio cable, from the headphone-out of the computer. The audio signal runs to one speaker, which is the "parent" speaker -- it accepts the audio from the computer, the power input to the speaker system, and then an audio cable that runs audio to the other speaker. I want the same setup... except that it sends an optical audio signal.
Does anyone know of a speaker system that will do this? I don't need all of the bells and whistles of a traditional receiver/speaker setup. Many other Apple TV users out there might have the same, simple needs.

I want a 2-speaker speaker setup that can accept an optical audio connection (from the Apple TV)...
This may be much more than you want, but is I believe what currently replaces my Logitec Z680 which I am still using on my old PPC G5. It is a 505 watt RMS optical input amplified speaker system with 5.1 DD/DTS/Pro Logic II decoder built into the control head. Believe the street price is in the $325-$350 range if interested.

  • 5.1 Speaker Setup not stick

I just recently got a set of Logitech X-530 speakers. My sound card is the Soundblaster Li've! 5. card. I have verified that I've got the speakers plugged in correctly. I went to the speaker setup in the Creative software and set it to 5. (without digital output). At this point everything works great. However, after I reboot my computer the speaker setup goes back to 2 speakers. I have verified (using Creative's Auto-Update Acti'veX Control) that I have the latest drivers for my sound card. Is this a SB issue or a Windows issue? What do I need to do so that my computer will remember my speaker setup? Thanks.

I do not see a "Synchronize with Control Panel" option in the Surrond Mixer settings anywhere. Where should I be looking for it's
Also, after I've set the speakers to 5., I can go into Control Panel\Sounds and Audio Devices and the speaker setup is configured properly in there. As far as I can tell everything is ok. Until I reboot. Then it reverts back to 2 speakers.
It's more of an annoyance issue than anything else. Since I can go into the settings and switch it back. I would just rather not have to do that everytime I reboot my machine.
On Speaker Settings, not on Surround Mixer.

  • Will Creative Ever Support The 6.1 Speaker Setup In Vista?

The subject line says it all. I'm disappointed that I have a 6. speaker setup with my X-Fi card that worked great in Windows XP, even the x64 edition. Now since I've updated to Vista, the rear center speaker is no longer enabled. I know the current driver set has a note on this, but just wondering if we will ever get 6. surround support again.

    alexs3d2 wrote:
No, because Microsoft doesn't support it.
I'll elaborate on that a bit for you. The 6.1 surround setup is not supported in Vista. This means that (barring some bizzare workaround/emulation effort by Creative), you won't see 6.1 in Vista no matter what sound card/onboard chip you use. It's not up to Creative. Sorry. Microsoft could re-introduce 6.1 with a Vista update. I don't know if it's feasible to do so, but I wouldn't expect anything till Service Pack , as my guess is that would require some major sound architecture changes.

  • 2.1 speaker setup on the SoundBlaster Live24 Extern

I have a 2. speaker setup but I can not figure out how to configure the Li've24 for 2.

I have a pair of Swans M-200's and a Totem Thunder Subwoofer. I have the Swans plugged into the front L+R output and the Subwooder plugged into the Sub/Center output on the Li've24 external. When I select 2/2. speaker output it only shows me the left and right speakers and the test tone will only produce sound out of the front left and right speakers and not the subwoofer. When I click on the "Bass Managment" tab everything including "Bass Redirect" is greyed out. The only way thus far I have been able to get the subwoofer to work at all is if I select 5. then the test tone will produce sound out of the subwoofer.

  • Two speaker setup, Audio is strange please he

It appears that my speaker setup has some how gotten corrupted, as my bass only shoots out of one speaker and the audio for both the left and right channel only kicks out of the other speaker. Seeing as my speaker setup up is only a two speaker setup I would like the bass and audio to be coming out of both speakers as it was originally. I've checked and my speaker setup is set to two stereo desktop speakers so I don't know what I should do. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. My cpu is running a Sound Blaster Li've card.

That said, the laptop speakers are playing stereo.
Hello. that would suggest that the integrated audio system is working okay and that the problem is in the jack or external device. There is no processing that I know of that would send 2 channels to the speakers but combine them into one channel into the jack.
If you want to replace the jack you would replace this I/O circuit board.
For a workaround there are many inexpensive usb audio jacks available.
If you want to test some more, switch to the Windows native audio driver.
    1. Open the Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the Windows search box).
    2. Expand the "Sound, video & game controllers" and right click on "IDT High Definition Audio Codec".
    3. Select to "Update Driver Software".
    4. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    5. Click "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
    6. Put a check in the box "Show compatible hardware" if not already checked.
    7. In the list of devices, click "High Definition Audio" (the native driver).
    8. Click "Next".
    9. On the Update Driver Warning box, click "Yes" (install the driver).
    10. Restart the laptop if prompted. If not prompted, then no need to restart.
[To get back to the IDT driver,  do it again but reverse the names in steps 1 and 6.]
If it doesn't work with the native driver then it is pretty surely hardware failure.

Also, the balance feature in settings is working and allows me to selectively control the volume of the two external speakers.Which suggests it's how sound files is being processed rather than the output jack itself.
If you still feel that it is a software issue could perform a system recovery. Doing so will fix the issue unless it is due to hardware failure.

  • What should i set the quicktime speaker setup for itunes?

I have 4 speakers and a sub........altec lansing's.....Is that considered a 4.1 setup....and if so can i also consider 4.1 and quadrophonic setup?....and also im assuming if i had that center speaker it would be considered a 5.1 setup...

No, you cannot create a QT reference movie using QT Conversion. The reason I'm asking you all these (seemingly unrelated) questions is that I get the sense that you are resizing in your export out of FCP 5, and resizing in not the optimal fashion.
Detail your sequence settings in FCP - including frame size - and how exactly are you exporting to Compressor.

  • Why Creative site doesn't have Speaker setup console installer?

I mean they ship with install disc with Vista version and they expect it to work perfect with Windows 7 or upcoming Windows 8? I want Creative to post there thx console setup or speaker console setup standalone installer on there website. So it would be easy for everyone to download the latest version(if they have updated).

Well, nobody seems to have this problem?

  • Can I output to a 3.0 speaker setup from an iMac?

I play movies stored on my iMac through my speaker system and HDTV using a Mini Display to HDMI cable plugged into my reciever. I'm currently piecing together a 5.1 seperates system but currently only have the front left, front right and centre speakers (3.0). I've played around to try and get the iMac to output though all three speakers but the audio only comes through the left and right channels and ignores the centre speaker completely. Even when I set the output in the 'Audio MIDI Setup' to 5.1 it still doesn't recognise a centre channel.
Any suggestions? Stereo output is fine but it would be nice to get the centre speaker in use rather than just sitting there in silence.

    Too niche a question?

  • 4.1 Speaker Setup - No sound from rear speak

    Opsys: Windows 2000 (just installed)
    Card: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
Software: Installed full sets of Creative software, everything runs
I'm trying to set up a 4. system where I'm using 2 set sets of stereo speakers plugged into line outs # and #2.
The problem is that I get sound only from line out #. All attempts at plugging the second set of speakers into the other line outs doesn't do anything for sound. I have switched the 2 sets around and they both work from lineout #.
The speaker calibration program only works for the front left and right speaker (i.e. no rear speaker output). I have tried more than just the 4. option, but none of them produce any sound to the rear speakers.
I have enabled EAX and CMSS, but this hasn't done any good. Still no sound from the rear speakers.
I checked the speaker set up and the volumes are midway for all speakers, both front and back.
Soooo. My guess is driver problems or maybe the 2 way stereo plug doesn't work with the 3 way plugs of line out #2 and #3.
    Any ideas?
    Rick

Okay, I get the stupid award for this one. I didn't notice that I was plugging my rear speakers into to the mic instead of the lineout 2. Well, in my defense, they are symetrically located around lineout and they do fit.
I would suggest people with sound issues to look at the other utilities. The one that helped was the Thx Setup console. This displays all info about the speakers, analog/digital settings, and even a picture showing the card plugs (that got the noodle thinking).
Also the Surround Mixer showed the correct configuration of the 4 speakers but without a sub hooked up. This fits my 2 stereo connections exactly.
    Cheers.

  • With 7.1 "Share WiFi Settings" no longer works for A3 Pioneer Speaker setup

I am nolonger able to link my Pioneer A3 Speaker with my WiFi network by plugging it into my iPhone or iPad, no message asking "Share the WiFi Settings". I have used various cables, re-booted WiFi and devices etc so conclude either my A3 has suddenly broken, or the 7.1 updates messed things up.
Section E in this PDF is the instructions I have been following https://www3.pioneer.co.jp/support/manual/wss/sma1_3_4/pdf/ARH7143C.pdf
Anyone else with this sort of issue ????

  • 7.1-7900 Speaker setup problem

I have just set up the speaker system on my new mesh pc but cannot get any sound from two speakers, the left and right side. I have used the THX cosole to test the speakers but nothing happens from these two. I have checked everything is connected correctly, but I think I am missing something obvious. I also have a SB X-FI XTREME sound card. I would be grateful for any help as I am no expert.

    Oh...
check with you are u playing song from dvd-audio?
well i am using dvd-audio (96khz, 24bits and 6 ch)song to play back than i need to set your setting as mention than works for 7.
how abt other sound encoding like mp3..
Oh one more thing you need to take note......
is about the S750 tweeter... open up the custion (front casing) check the silver colour tweeter..., make sure is not pressed in should be round and smooth
Check the post that i have mention abt the tweeter:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=speakers&message.id=4360#M4360
Else if there the tweeter looks as someone have press on it.. get it replace when still in warrenty.. since most products carry warreny do monthly check of the tweeter if needed.. tell you what tweeter being compress (look like someone have press on it) cannot escape even you buy B&W speaker which cost few K for 2 pair of speaker.
