Speaker when removing headphones

When i am having a call with my headphones on,if i removed the headphones the call is on speaker, how can i turn off this?

It sounds like you have a downloaded app that's causing this in that case. An old version of Google Chrome could cause this for example.
Try swiping running apps from recent apps and see if you can find the app causing it.

    Hi,
I get kernel panics when I remove my headphones, although this doesn't happen every time. Is anyone else having this problem and what should I do about it?

  • Macbook loses audio when removing headphones

Hello all. So i'm running full windows 7 on my macbook pro, with my OSX partition shrunk down to as small as i can get it. Initially, this setup worked well enough. but in the past few days, my audio has become super flaky and downright broken.
Whenever i remove my headphones, the audio would stop working. Itunes wouldn't play, no matter where in the song i was. I tried going into sounds and manually changing devices and that worked for a while for the speakers, but when i tried my headphones again, the audio continued to play through the speakers. Once again i tried going into the sound properties and changing the device to the headphones, but it was already busted. I will once again have to restart to get audio working.
is there something wrong with my build? With my OSX windows tools? Intentional Windows gimping on Apples part?? Whatever it is, it's rendering my machine utterly useless. if anyone could point me in the right direction (short of going back to OSX. That's not an option) I would GREATLY appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    -Michael

I don't even...why would you bother posting that?? Obviously, having already purchased the ridiculously expensive macbook pro, just "buying a computer built for windows" isn't an option. go troll somewhere else, thanks.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. (this was already sugested) There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R".
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • My iPod touch 4g is making a static noise in the speaker and in headphones help!!!!!!

It makes this loud static/cracking noise out of the speaker whenever I try to play music or a video . It also does this out of the headphone jack to I know this because I have a brand new pair of beats by dre solo hds and there's still static in the bit when I tried it on a different device the headphones worked perfectly fine.

    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Did you try different headphones!?
If it's sounding the same thing on different headphones then you might have changed the Left-Right balance
Have a look at Settings -> General -> Accessibility
    There's a slider for L-R
If it's in the center then the headphone through which you're facing the problem might be damaged, try twisting the headphone wire of the speaker of the headphone (left or right) where you are encountering less volume.
If it's sounding altogether same on all the circumstances, the headphone jack might be damaged. Get your phone to the Apple Store and book an appointment
Try these steps and it will solve your question

  • Probook 4720s internal speaker not working (headphones do)

    Hi.
I have a problem where the internal speakers on the laptop just wont work, but I get sound from headphones when they are plugged in.
    * The computer is less than a month old and has not been used very much.
    * I think I heard sound when I installed everything for the first time.
    * I'm using Windows 7. I've tried Ubuntu 10.10 and the sound from headphones worked there, but not from speakers.
    * Nothing is muted.
    * Every volume is at max.
    * Headphones are not plugged in.
    * Latest bios is installed.
    * Latest sound driver is installed (I've tried all available drivers from HP and windows standard drivers, none work).
    * No indication of error anywhere. The computer seems to do everything it's supposed to do, except no sound comes from the internal speakers.
    * I've reset Windows with system restore, but it did not change anything.
    * One theory I had was that the laptop was stuck in "headphone mode" due to a stuck or broken switch in the headphone jack. However, if I open IDT HD sound program, there is a picture of the headphone jack, and if I plug in headphones, the picture is enlarged, and if I unplug headphones, the picture is decreased. Therefore, it does seems like the software registers when the headphone is plugged in and when it's not.
    Possible fault(?):
    * Software error somewhere, either the driver or Windows 7.
    * Broken cable between to speakers somewhere?
    * Broken soundcard? (headphones work).
Is there something else I could try? (I guess I could reinstall the whole computer, but rather don't do that unless absolutely necessary, as the problem might just arise again).

I have a Pavilion dm4-1162us laptop and I just had similar audio issues start today.
I had headphones plugged in to play a game and when I was finished, I unplugged my headphones, and suddenly no sound was coming out of the laptop's speakers. The sound works when I plug the headphones in again.
I have checked all of the audio settings and made sure the speakers are set as default and enabled. I made sure that disabled devices are visible. All sound tests have failed. I have rolled back the drivers to version 6.10.6300.0 and also I have tried reinstalling the latest version 6.10.6324.0 yet it still doesn't work.
I noticed throughout the ordeal, the IDT control panel looked like it detected the headphone jack as active even though nothing was plugged in.
Is there a way to reset this detected state? If anything else, how can I just use the Windows audio drivers? Do I need to remove the driver files in the swsetup folder?

  • [SOLVED] How to disable built-in speaker when I use the jack port ?

    Hi,
I own an Asus X52F-SX053V laptop which has built-in Altec Lancing speaker.
Here is my problem: When I plug my external speaker, or my headphones in the Jack port; I hear the sound through the device plugged in, AND through the built-in speaker.
I'd like to disable the built-in speaker when I'm using an external speaker/headphones.
I currently don't know how to do that, I guess it is possible
I can copy the output of all the commands needed.
    Thanks

[SOLVED] When I plug something in the jack port, built-in speakers are automatically disabled.
    Here is the trick:
    sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
    Add the following line:
    options snd-hda-intel model=hp-laptop
Restart Alsa, or reboot your computer
    Have Fun !
Note: I guess it should work with other Asus computer (A52F, X52F series) and even maybe with other computers which use the following chipset: Intel IbexPeak HDMI

  • I can't hear a thing unless I use the speaker or the headphones!

I have a new iPhon5 that I puorchase in Amsterdam's Apple store and I can't hear a thing unless I use the speaker or the headphones! I don’t have Apple store in my country. What can I do?

Yes, when I disable the conversations add-on, I can then get to the attachment...but I like the conversations add-on otherwise and it used to handle the attachments just fine.

  • My IPod Touch Stucks when the headphones are connected

    Hi,
My Ipod Touch 2G (2.2) stucks after few minutes when the headphones are connected (genuines APPLE or genuines for Iphone + Mic).
When I listen the music, after few minutes the song stops and the apple appears on the screen.
Do you have an idea of what's wrong ?
    Best regards

I think I fix the problem.
It wasn't besause of the headphones but the two small magnets there was on the cover of the leather case.
I removed them and the Ipod seems to work fine now ... I test again ...

  • Delete emails from server when removed from phone inbox

I want my server (Verizon Yahoo) to trash and delete messages when I trash or delete them on my 5s. I have gone into my Verizon account on the phone, made sure Trash was selected rather than Archive, selected "Delete from server..."when removed from inbox"", restarted, etc. Everything else works in the account, and when I delete on the server, it is deleted on the phone. I want emails to delete from the server when I remove them from the phone's inbox. Supposed to happen, but doesn't.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't very clear, I guess. What I want to do is Trash or Trash>Delete emails on my iPhone 5s and have them go away from the inbox on my Verizon/Yahoo server. That does not happen now, even though I have set the setting on my phone to do so. All the stuff in my inbox on the server reappears the next time my phone inquires, including the emails I've sent to Trash (on the phone) and those I've Trash>Deleted there. Not too worried about permanent, real, NSA-type deletion, because that just isn't going to happen - I am worried about the poor agent at NSA who has to read my boring, mundane emails, though. I just don't want to see stuff I've Deleted from my phone's inbox come back to the inbox. Zombiemail!
