Hello! I am hoping to get an answer for my inquiry of my iPad speaker problems. So the speakers do not play anything on my iPad, although when I plug in my headphones they work well. When I unplug and press on the volume controls the icon appears with only the words "headphones" and when I go to the ringers and alerts sound test bar in settings the speakers play the ring. What do I need to do? And I just got the ios7 update when it came out, and I heard people have been having similar bug problems? Anyways, can someone please help me! :)

Video won't play but audio will.

Whenever I try to playback my video, the playhead will move but it will stay in the frame I started from and won't play the video, but the audio will play. I;ve tryed rendering everything, restarting my computer, and cleaning the cache but none of that will work. I tried exporting the video and it played fine but it still would do the same thing when I went back to editing. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Does it have anything to do with me only having 4gb of ram?

Home sharing won't play but airplay will.

Setup:
PC (Win 7) running Itunes 11.0.1.12 over WiFi N (2.4ghz)
3rd Gen Apple TV Ethernet connected directly to router.
I've got the ATV to see my home sharing just fine. When I go to play a movie/tv show it sticks on the loading screen for over 5 minutes with no change. At which point I go to the TV show I want to watch on my iTunes library, play it on the computer, and switch it over to AirPlay to the ATV and it loads and plays instantly without an issue.
What am I missing that I cannot get it to play through the ATV without using the AirPlay feature?

I've heard people say that Apple employees rarely answer questions here, but I'd have to think they at least peruse these forums, no?
Anyway, I can play to AirPort/stereo now from computer to computer, but not via a (4.1) iPodTouch. I'm considering upgrading the Touch to get AirPlay, but I don't do OS upgrades unless they're absolutely necessary and I'm quite confident it's not going to screw things up in some unforeseen way (yes, I've been burned over the decades, sadly). Unfortunately, I need to run my Touch JB'n to use some custom software, so that makes every OS upgrade on that device a very thoughtful decision. I hope it's not a problem to mention that here, but it's a fact of life when you need to use Terminal/network tools.

Music sound won't play but video will

I have had my 80 GB ipid video for only a couple of weeks now and it was working perfectly fine until the other day when the sound quit on me. I could sometimes hear a scratching noise, but most of the time I don't hear anything. The sound on my videos works fine though, and I can't find anything else wrong. I have tried to reset, restore the settings, and any other advice I could find, but nothing has worked. Please help!!

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

- I would try transferring the video to itunes on you computer and then deleting it from your iPod. The go to Advance tab in iTunes and select the Create iPod and iPhone Version and then sync to your iPod.

Go back to iTunes, select the Music tab, uncheck the 'sync music; button, then hit apply.

It sounds like you might actually have 4G iPod Touch or 6G Nano as the 4G Nano does not have icons. Use this article to help you verify what model iPod you own.

Firefox doesn't come preloaded on new Mac's.
So you must have gotten this machine used and the person set up Firefox with a proxy amongst other "tweaks" that your not aware of, possibly even remote access to your machine.
If this is a used machine you bought, ideally it would be best to backup any files you have to a external drive, c boot off the installer disk the other person should have given you and use Disk Utility > Erase > Zero and format the drive HFS+ Journaled. Quit and install OS X and start with a fresh machine.
If you don't have the disk, a $29 Snow Leopard install disk is avaialble from Apple (no iLife programs, sold seperatly) which you can do the same as above.
If you don't want to do this, then delete Firefox and it's Library > Application Support > Firefox folder and reinstall it fresh from Mozilla.
Just reinstalling Firefox alone doesn't work, the support files need to be trashed as well.

When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.

Ipod won't play through headphones anymore... and I JUST bought it!

I just bought my 5th Gen. ipod nano a week ago and was working fine. After I had used it on my ihome docking station, it won't play through my headphones anymore.... I use the ear buds that came with it- all the player does is imediatly play through the speaker- is there a setting or something where I can hear through the ear buds? I know I have the earbuds pushed into the jack all the way, I can actually hear some music in the earbuds (just not very loud). What can I do?

Sorry, allow me to ask you a question, have you tried to increase the volume of the iPod, if Yes, then bring it for service ... it is a hardware issue

Installed iMovie 7.1 projects won't play/event clips will play-no volume

I just installed the iMovie 7.1 (506) update, and now I can't use the software at all.
1. My PROJECTS will not play at all. I can click on a clip and expand it (like I'm going to trim it), and play it from there... but I get no volume.
2. In the EVENTS window my clips will play, but I get no volume.
3. Even the iTunes music I put in the background on my projects won't play, so the sound issue is obviously not related to the clips.
Before I installed this new update, everything was working fine!
I've had nothing but problems since I bought iLife08 and installed iMovie. It's just not working. The previous update fixed all my problems (from the software out of the box), but I had to re-enter all the clips into new projects. Now this new update I did tonight has set me back again. This is costing me time. I've been trying to edit my trip to Europe... and this software is just not working.
HELP!!!!
Apple if you are reading these posts... your new update has problems! PLEASE FIX IT ASAP!

Did you also install the iLife Support 8.1 upgrade? That upgrade is required, according to the iMovie 7.1 upgrade page.

I started downloading a movie, and received a message that my movie ws ready to view. When I attempted to watch it, it would not play, but the 24 hour timer is running. What do do to get the movie to play and get the full 24 hours to watch it?

Hi Steve - have you renamed the 'file' (actually a 'package' which can be opened with Control-Click), or a file within that package? If the latter, you may have lost the link to the Media folder.
If the former, it will have created a new project - you will find the originally-named project in iMovie's Trash. In fact it should have asked you about it.
I don't know if re-naming has been the cause of the problem you have though.
Try doing a 'Save As' with a new name and see it that new project works.
If not, open the 'package, click on Show Package Contents, and then go Shared Movies>iDVD and try opening the .mov file there.
If that plays, it hopefully can be imported into a new project - as one long clip.

ITunes won't play movies, Quicktime will

This is very aggravating. My iTunes movies refuse to play in the iTunes player. If I navigate to where the movie file is located, right click it and open it with quicktime, it will play flawlessly.
If I try to play the video in iTunes it will just stick on the first frame, play a couple seconds of audio, then do nothing. I can scrub through the entire movie and the frozen frame will change to where I've scrubbed to, but it will never play.
I've tried complete uninstallation of all apple software as one of the support articles suggested, then reinstalling fresh, to no avail.
I've tried changing the audio from 16 to 24 and used various levels of Hz (44100, 96000, etc) as some people said this was how to fix it but that didn't work.
I've tried disabling Direct3D, and disabling all the hardware acceleration in the quicktime preferences, to no avail.
Can somebody please tell me how to fix this? I am on a very fresh windows 7 install and really have hardly anything installed on this computer. Just google chrome, iTunes, a few steam games, and Skype. I really don't understand what could be causing this issue. I am disappointed that an apple product is requiring more troubleshooting than any windows program I've ever worked with. My iPhone and iPad work flawlessly, it's a shame that iTunes is having such a massive issue (I can't even play the videos I purchase... really?)

Ok so I figured out what was causing the problem and how to fix it.
It turns out that you can't use enhancements on your iTunes audio source. If you go to control panel --> sound --> right click your device on the list --> properties --> enhancements tab, then check "disable all enhancements" your videos should play. You guys may want to add this into the support article about iTunes video playback issues on windows, as it impacted the video playback, but was in the support article for audio troubleshooting.

FLV video will play but sound will not

sites like youtube and google video, work fine...video wise. However, sound won't play at all. Mpeg's work, wmv works..everything but FLV. I have flash player version 9 installed (public beta). i tried running version 8 in rosetta mode, and nothing..anybody else having this issue or have fix?

also go into your system preferences/quicktime
go to the advanced tab, and check enable flash.
may or may not have anything to do with the audio, but it still should be checked (latest update to QT has this off by default)

Paid for CC 2014 trial and premiere won't open but others will
