Speakers don't work after installing new software

I have a 2nd gen iPod touch. Before I downloaded the 3rd gen software, the speakers worked perfectly fine. However, basically none of my apps worked anymore and the upgrade was only $5 so I said "Hey. Might as well."
Unfortunately, I can no longer play any music/sounds using the speakers anymore. Without any headphones plugged in, the volume adjust bar doesn't even show up. The side volume control buttons are unresponsive. I know the thing still has speakers, it just doesn't want to use them! Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?

I have the same problem... my sound bar works... but no sound... also video starts freezing as well as a few games... restored 8 or 9 times but it still does not work.....

I have MSI P55-GD65 and i have a problem... My PWM don't work anymore
I had a Intel stock cooler and PWM on this cooler work nice (when is idle speed is about 2000 RPM, on load above 2500 and up RPM), but i buy Cooler Master Hyper TX3 (with 4 pins and PWM control) and now speed on this cooler is 2900 RPM (100%) and don't go up or down depend of temps.
Just on start when i boot windows speed is nice i guest 2000 RPM (i hear that) but only 5-6 secounds (until boot logo appers) and then go full 100% 2900 RPM...
I don't change anything in BIOS after installation of this cooler (Hyper TX3). When i see that PWM don't work correctly i go in BIOS and try to load optimal settings, but again don't work...
Also "smart Fan Control" was disable when i using Intel stock cooler and also this option is disable now...
Please if somebady know, help me.... Im desperate

Yes, and? That is what a fan is for: keep the processor cool. If it is cool enough, the fan slows down. As soon as the temperature is increasing, the fan speed will increase as well until it cools down again. That is how it is supposed to work.

PWM is a way to regulate the fan speed (pulse-width modulation). The PWM regulation method as such has not much to do with voltages but with the pulse width of the regulating signal.
What you are referring to is the event that triggers the PWM logic to speed up or slow down the fan. Tying it to "voltage" (what voltage?) would not make any sense whatsoever. Of course, a higher CPU voltage will theoretically result in higher temperatures. However, the BIOS does not know (or care) what kind of heatsink you have installed or how effective it is. The best way for an effective automatic an regulation is to make it dependend on CPU temperature alone (to treat the symptoms of raised voltage: heat) and that is exactly how it works on your board.

Is the version of Windows 7 Ultimate you have installed 32bit or 64bit?
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers - do you see an existing entry for the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC listed here?
There is an alternative IDT Audio driver you may wish to try on the following link.

Buit in ethernet don't work after installing Lion

Built in ethernet don't work after installing OSX 10.7 on my MacBookPro 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 15.
Someone else has the same problem?
On my MacPro 2 x 2.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon it's not working good, i have to do a restart to get internet connection.

Something does look odd to me unless it's a typo in your post.
This look like what I'd expect from the NetGear Router - not form the modem. That is when You browse the router stats (http:/192.168.1.1)
I work with a modem with te folowing preverences:
Wan IP address    87.211.205.210
Lan IP address     192.168.1.1
Primery DNS server       62.58.50.5
Secondary DNS server   62.58.50.6
and a separate router Netgear WGT624v3
This is not exactly what I would expect from System Preferences/Network
the system preferences for the network are
Configure       by DHCP
IP address     192.168.1.15
Subnetmask 255.255.255.0
Router           192.168.5.1 <<<<<<<<<<< this should be 192.168.1.1??????
DNS              208.67.222.222
                     208.67.220.220
The Router address in System Preferences/Network should be the same as the LAN IP Address. In this case it's on a different network.
If this is not a type then this is a problem!
Not sure how it got to be that way.
Does it persist when resetting the modemand router?/

Usually this is because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try again in 20 minutes or so.

You can restore your iPod to "New" which will erase every thing and install fresh iOS software or you can restore to a particular backup that you have previously created. In this case, your iPod Apps & data will appear as per the backup. Note that some content is not in a backup and will need to be synced back to the iPad from the iTunes music library or from, for example, the iPhoto photo library.

External UCube speakers don't work after awakening from sleep mode since 10.7.5 upgrade

Ever since I upgraded to 10.7.5 when I wake my computer from sleep mode...my external UCube speakers don't work unless I unplug them and plug them back in. I've already tried resetting the SMC. It recognizes and shows the speakers in the sound preferences...but no sound unless I reconnect the usb cable. Worked fine in 10.7.4
Any ideas? Its ridiculous all the audio problems being reported.

I have a mac mini (A1283) with OS 10.7.4. Upon upgrading to 10.7.5 it did not start up again. Instead, the light was on and the hard drive did not start up. The light on the connected USB mouse was not lit.
My solution:
Cold start with Command-v pressed.
This should start Verbose mode (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1492 ).
What happened on my mac mini was that the grey startup screen with the Apple logo appeared for a long while before the login screen came.
Maybe Cmd-v set open firmware params and fixed some corruption.
Anyway: my mac mini works again.

Isight Stopped Working After Installing Quicktime Software Update

This afternoon when I logged into my Macbook, it automatically detected new software update for Quicktime. As always, I let the computer download and install the software. However, this time it created a lot of problems for me. First, I couldn't connect to my network (I use Airport Express) although the signal was strong. After reset modem, router and Airport, finally I could get on network. However, then I found out my Isight stopped working. The light on the right side of the built-in camera was always on (green). My Photo Booth screen appears green all the time. I no longer can use Skype video chat. Does anyone encounter the same problem? Can anyone help me out? I use Macbook, the operating system is OX 10.4.3. Thanks.

I have all the latest updates on my Macs, and I have no problem at all.
If you applied the latest (7.4.1) QT update, your problem may be due to the fact that the System Requirements for QuickTime 7.4.1 for Tiger include Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later, and you show that you are using Mac OS X (10.4.3). You can check which QT version you have installed using the QuickTime Player > About QuickTime Player menu command.
If your QT version is an older one that is compatible with your Mac OS, and if you have not done so since you applied the QT update, repairing permissions may help you.
If the problem is somehow related to your iSight rather than to your QT software, Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight may help you identify and fix your problem.
Unless you have a compelling reason for not doing so, you should consider updating to the latest version of Tiger (10.4.11). To find out what improvements you are missing by staying with 10.4.3, see some of the "About the Mac OS X 10.4.xx Update" documents for updates later than 10.4.3. A couple of examples are:
• About the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Update (combo) and
• About the Mac OS X 10.4.11 Update
If you are interested, other "About..." documents are linked in this search list.
Because System Requirements for the latest combo applicable to your MacBook, Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (Intel), are for Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later, you will need at least two steps to upgrade from your Mac OS X (10.4.3), so pay careful attention to the System Requirements of any updates you plan to apply.
