Speakers issue

Hi,
I posted a question about a speakers issue last year. It was rapidly solved.
You can read the subject "Problems with my speakers" to know more, but please answer here as the original subject have been archived and replies are not allowed.
The problem is getting back today but unfortunately, I cannot fix it with earphones, because I don't have any...
I've tried every other solution proposed on this page and nothing does... Is there any other way I can fix this?
Thanks
(Here is the problem as I described it last year
"Hi there.
I use a Macbook Pro and my speakers allways worked perfectly.
But I just watched a video online with a very low volume so I used earphones to hear better.
Then I came up to listen music again in my speakers, but no sound came out. I tried to raise up the volume, but there's an interdiction sign (circle with a diagonal in it) so I cannot lower or raise the volume... In the hole (entry? sorry i'm francophone...) for the earphones there's a red light coming out...
What's the matter? Have I made something wrong?
Thanks for your help" )

Your analog audio switch is stuck if there is a red light on inside the jack. Stick a wooden toothpick in the socket, wiggle it around and see if you can dislodge the switch. If you can't, it will need to be taken apart to service.

  • MacBook Pro 13" Late 2011 Internal Speakers Issue

Every time I use my internal speakers (especially on high voice), my speakers' strength seems to lessen after few seconds of sound. But after about 30 minutes or so, the speakers are back to normal, but the same conflict repeats again after using the speakers again.

You may try a PRAM reset.  If that does not resolve the issue, make an appointment at the Apple store Genius bar.
    Ciao.

  • Audio and speakers issues with the new iTunes 7

    Hi,
I also have an audio problem after installing the new iTunes 7. It seems after iTunes have finished "determining the gapback playback information", all audio from iTunes and Quicktime only comes through my two front speakers. I have a 5.1 setup for my computer and it seems is only a iTunes and Quicktime issue since Windows media plays the audio just fine. Anybody know what the issue could be? I'm on Windows XP by the way.
I have checked my speaker setup and sound card and this problem does not occur in Windows media or any other media software. It seems that it only occurs with iTunes and Quicktime.

Yet another person with the exact same problem, with the same sound card. Everything is up-to-date. I've tried all of the other "fixes" but its either done nothing, or given me use of my rear speakers but added an awful awful ear shattering static. I've tried everything. I even stood on one foot.
Furthermore, my EAX options do not work with iTunes 7 either, though they work with the older versions. I can't even adjust the speaker balance (front to rear, right to left). This is an isolated problem, only with the new iTunes and QuickTime. Everything else on my computer works just dandy, and cooperates with my speakers (5.1 surround) and my EAX settings.
Edited because I said video card, not sound card.. I'm tired, been trying to fix this for an hour.

  • Macbook Pro 2011 Internal Speakers Issue

I just discovered an issue with the internal speakers of my Macbook Pro 2011.
The balance of the left and right speaker is off.
When I move the balance slider all the way to the right only the right speaker is active (as it should be). When I move the balance slider all the way to the left, the left speaker is active, BUT also the right (not as loud as the left one though).
When the slider is set to the middle the right speaker is definitely louder than the left one.
Do you have the same problem?
(2 members from other forums have confirmed this problem)

    Ok....I just found this here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3336
    Quote:
+"You may notice that when you move the Balance slider in the Sound preferences pane far to the left speaker that you can still hear sound from the right side of the MacBook Pro.+
+This sound is actually generated by the sub-woofer, but because of its placement, the audio from the subwoofer seems to be coming from the right side speaker. Due to the placement+
+of the subwoofer it is normal for the sound stage to seem shifted slightly towards the right speaker. If you prefer, you can adjust the balance control to shift the sound stage to the left or right side."+
So there's no need for a PRAM reset then I guess...

  • Audio port and internal speakers issue

My audio port and internal speakers are not working when playing and/or streaming audio. I'm assuming it's a software issue considering it has happened straight after downloading OS X.
Any, simplified and jargon-free advice, would be very appreciated. Need music for my hours of coursework/essay writing ahead of me.
    Many thanks for any help
    Andy

It often is helpful to know what EXACT model MBP one is dealing with.
What works or does not work under what conditions?  Internal speakers, earphones?
Have you opened System Preferences>Sound and checked the settings?
    Ciao.

  • Airtunes Speakers Issue

Hi all, I'm new to Mac only investing in my first a couple of weeks ago so sorry if this is basic.
When I bought the mac I also bought an Airport Express and then recently I bought a time capsule which replace the airport express as the router. I decided to use Airport Express downstairs for Air Tunes. I plugged it in after a hard reset, followed the tutorial to connect it to my network renamed it living room speakers which appeared in i-tunes, so far so good. When I try to play music from i-tunes I get an error message saying no speakers can be found. I've checked in i-tunes preferences and 'search for remote speakers' is checked. I don't think I'm too far away, the light on airport express is green and it's visible in the airport utilities with the time capsule.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thank you all.

  • Speakers Issue with Xperia M4 Aqua Dual

I wish to complain about my handset SONY XPERIA M 4 aqua which was purchased on 18th June 2015 from Ambe Electronics, Sector 18, Noida. Within two weeks its speakers stopped working. I took it to Ambe Electronics but without any positive response, they took the handset from me saying that they will send the handset for repairs to the service station on 14th July 2015. A SMS was received from the service center regarding my service ID 15071401386 and my complaint number which is W 115071401386. But till now I haven’t received my handset. I am suffering the agony for having purchased SONY XPERIA. Will the company take a call and give a new handset as I am psychologically and mentally not happy to have the repaired set back. An immediate action is requested. Lalita Dua

  • Xtreme music headphones and speakers issue

I have a creative soundblaster xtreme music on my PC. I have a problem when I connect my 2.1 Logitech speakers it has to go through the headphones jack input. This is a hassle because if I want to change listening from headphones to speakers I have to unplug the headphone jack at the back of the desktop and then plug the 2.1 speakers jack. Is there a way of plugging both the speakers jack and the headphones jack on the soundcard inputs and then switch between headphone and speakers mode through the computer mouse on the monitor screen?

I did just as you suggested. There is no quality difference when listening to the headphones while the speakers plug is plugged to the splitter cable jack. But when I am listening to the speakers if I disconnect the headphones plug the sound from the speakers gets louder. I was advised that I can add a X-Fi I/O Dri've? to the extra DVD dri've space available on deskto
    ps.
This will add the extra jack input for headphones as well as add various other connectivity devices.
    Sound Blaster X-Fi I/O Dri've, I/O Console, and Digital I/O Module
    http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowA....aspx?sid=4796
But at the moment your solution does the job with my 2.1 speakers. I am not sure if it will work the same with a 5.1 speakers. If I use a 5.1 speakers the line out which will be split will be used for the headphones and the front left and right speakers (which is used for the 2.1 speakers system) while the line 2 out will be used for rear left and rear right speakers. The line 3 out will be used for front center and subwoofer. I don't know if I split line for headphones this won't affect the front left and right of the 5.1 speaker system or maybe I have to unplug the headphones plug to make the 5.1 speakers system work. In any event unplugging the headphones plug will increase the volume of the speakers or even increase the sound quality if a trained ear listens to the sound. My ears are not trained enough to notice any quality difference.

  • Mavericks - Windows7 bootcamp speakers issues

I have a 13" mid 2009 macbook pro recently upgraded to mavericks and after that, I partitioned my hard drive with bootcamp and installed windows 7. All good so far but my speakers don't work when I'm in windows. Device manager says everything is working fine and it doesn't think there are head phones plugged in or anything (which I've seen has been a problem for some people.) I tried to re-install the drivers on the windows disk as suggested but I get the "bootcamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model" error. I tried a couple of things from past posts but I either got that all the drivers were installed and up to date or I got kinda stuck and couldn't follow the suggested instructions because I don't have any real coding skills (I've only ever written code in SAS for research purposes.) Also my bootcamp folder that I downloaded doesn't have a bootcamp64.msi file, only a bootcamp.msi file. Again, I am having no other problems with windows so far. It's just the lack of sound. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. If you're insight requires coding please be SUPER specific about what needs to be typed in the command prompt. Thanks!
I used bootcamp 5.0.533, though I'm told there is a bootcamp 5.1.0. Don't know if that could be making a difference.

sorry, just read your post again and your mac doesnt support 64bit. mid 2009 pro's with duo 2 core processers only support 32 bit.
however 64 bit software does run, but in certain cases like yours problems will persist.
if the sound is important to you then the only option is to start again using the 32 bit version.

  • Microphone too low on G780 in Windows 8

When I used Skype, I heard complains, nobody could hear me. So I checked my microphone settings and they were set... to minimum (microphone 0, performance 0 dB) so I set it to maximum (microphone 100, performance +40 dB) and... with very weak results. Tried to use Skype or windows internal voice recorder with the same result: extremely loud background noise and very weak voice in the back, not possible to decipher, muffled and on the edge of hearing. Sound on the laptop works fine so this is not a speakers issue.
Essentially built in microphone seems to work, however so weak that it is not usable at all. Did I miss something? Can I improve it? System shows that drivers are up to date and everything is installed.Or is it a technical fault and I should send it to technical support?

    Hello and welcome,
I've run into something similar - except it was a different machine and different operating system...
This KB has some suggestions that may apply.  In my case turning off the enhancements did the trick.

  • Macbook Pro Retina + Windows 8 Questions

First: I know that Bootcamp doesnt have any Windows 8 drivers yet. I know that Windows 7 drivers will do temporarily.
In a month time, I will be getting a Macbook Pro retina. 13" base model. This would be my very first mac. I chose this mac because portability is a major factor for my everyday need. Im always on the move. I know the storage isn't enough but I will buy myself an external Hard drive. Depends on the budget. I will be using this laptop for not so heavy work. Mainly i will be studying Objective C and C++. Something for a free time self study developing. Reason why im putting windows in it, its because i need visual studio c++ for studying ( feel free to recommend any other application for c++ designed for mac). I chose windows 8 because the pro version is 60$ at my local retail.(I know how to do clean install without the requirements).
My questions to those who successfully installed Win8:
    1. What are the issues you encountered and how did you solved it?
    2. How's the performance? Laggy?
    Thanks in advance.

The update to boot camp is now available!
Just installed Windows 8.1 Pro to my MacBook Pro, Retina, Mid 2012, OS X 10.8.5: Memory 16GB 1600MHz DDR3
After going through the usual process from boot camp, then installed windows and the support drivers... the trackpad rt click did not work. I had to then go download the boot camp again from windows 8 using the url below and ran the set up.exe from the boot camp folder you can download from below. Run it within windows 8.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638
    Boot Camp Support Software 5.0.5033
This solved the Trackpad Right Clicking issue (not working) as well as tapping.
The wireless and network connectivity and keyboard brightness and speakers issues where resolved as well. The Boot camp support software enabled a boot camp control panel available in the windows 8 system tray and from there you can enable the track pad to tap and use the secondary click.

  • One speaker not working

    HI,
It is hardly one week that i bought a HP Pavilion dv6 3043tx laptop  . one of laptop speaker is not working .
i don't understand after spending a lot of money on brand new hp laptop. it is showing with problems . what is the use of purchasing hp. iwould have gone for some other company.
could anyone help me soving this speakers issue.
    thanks

To do that click start, in the search box type Sound. Once is show up in the search result, click on it. Click on the default Audio Device and click properties
Now with the Speakers Properties window open, click on  Levels tab and  click Balance. Now check for the volume level on the Left Channel...
If that does not work, Reinstall the Audio card driver and check, if that does not work getting your notebook check by an HP Authorized service provider
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
