Speakers on Aluminum 13" Macbook

Hi, Im pretty new at this whole Mac thing. I just got my Macbook on monday and ive been pretty busy so not until today did i try out the speakers to the fullest and couldnt help but notice that there is a difference between the left side and the right side. The thing is when i change the balance, sound comes from both, but the left seems a little softer and doesnt have as much feedback and the right one. Might this be a hardware problem with the speakers or might this be a problem with the mother board? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I received my new aluminium macbook, I had ordered if from Vancouver, BC was getting nice deal from compu2000.com for (CAD$1349.99 + 5% tax + CAD$19.99 UPS Express) only since I live in Ontario, Canada. Because if you go buy it from bestbuy, it costs CAD$1400 + 13% tax = cad$1582.00
Anyways I noticed the similar problem, when I first turned it on and heard the Apple sound it seemed to be coming more from the right side. Then I tried to adjust balance of the speaker and found out that left speaker has low bass intensity output, whereas the right speaker has high bass intensity output. I read somewhere else that the subwoofer on these macbooks has been fitted towards the right side which maybe causing this issue. If that is the case the is a huge design flaw by Apple. I am really disappointed.
I called Apple Tech. support and the guy told me he never heard of such issues and told me that there might be a hardware issue, so I am planning to take it to an authorized service center to hopefully fix this thing.
Will keep u posted.

  • Which wi-fi speakers are recomended for MacBook Air

Which wi-fi speakers are recomended for MacBook Air?

I cannot personally advise because I don't know about those specific models.
In 10.7, Apple already provides built-in software and updates for many printers. Check the lists below.
Apple list of Epson printer software included with 10.7:

Apple list of HP printer software included with 10.7:

Also, Epson and HP both have support web pages where they describe their support for Mac OS X 10.7 and have driver software available to download. There's a good chance the that printer driver software you find online will be more recent than on the CD in the box with the printer, so you'll want to check those sites anyway.

  • New speakers compared to old MacBook Pro speakers. Yay or Nay?

Anyone compare the speakers from the old MacBook Pro to the new one?
    Any improvements?

WOW! If this thing HAS a subwoofer, it *****! There is very little information below 200Hz on these speakers (brand new MBP) - additionally there is very little room for a sub in it's enclosure!
    The Test:
Using FuzzMeasure, I measured nearly identical frequency responses on the left vs. the right speaker.
In other words, either your machine is messed up, or you hearing is!
I'd attach the response plot if the forum would allow it...basically it looks like a slightly rising response from around 1kHz and up (about +10dB over that range!), and below 1kHz down to around 200Hz it slopes steeply down another 20dB! Below that it's down another 30dB (over 60dB total) by 100Hz!!!
BTW, 100Hz is where many "small" speakers begin their low frequency "rolloff". On the MBP, this is where the LF rolloff ends!!!

  • Can PC Speakers work for a Macbook?

Hey guys I just bought Logitech Z-4 speakers and when they came today I forgot to check the compatibility and obv they are PC speakers. Has anyone had success converting PC speakers to work with a Mac? I would love to try this before sending them back.

PC Speakers will work on MacBooks, just plug in the speakers into the speaker jack on the side of your MacBook, it's that easy!

  • Aluminum Unibody Macbook Late 2008 Hard Drive Compatability

What are the maximum specs on a SATA hard drive that the late 2008 aluminum unibody Macbook supports? Would a 1 TB 7200 rpm hard drive work up to spec if I were to install it? Or is the max that I can install 500 gb 5400 rpm?

I mean rotational speed is NOT something limited by chipsets.

  • ITunes on  iMac cannot find remote speakers, but iTunes on MacBook can!!!

I have a home wireless network provided by a third party ADSL modem, and an Airport Express connected to a stereo system. My MacBook has no problem playing iTunes music remotely through the AE/stereo system. The WEIRD thing is that my iMac Intel Core Duo is not able to establish a connection to the same AE/stereo system - even though the MacBook and iMac are located at almost the same spot, they are running the same version of OSX and iTunes (all my software is up to date on both computers), and both have no problems connecting to the internet through the wireless network.
What could be wrong with my iMac, or with iTunes on the iMac?
iMac Intel Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I have the same problem. I have two Airport Express units. The base is connected to the Cable/Modem for internet use. I have a Bose surround sound system also plugged into that Express unit. The other Express was used for extending the range for my old Titanium Laptop that recently bit the dust. (Waiting for Leopard before I leap;)
I was able to use iTunes music from my iMac by selecting the "speakers" I wanted. Either Express, I tried them both. I was quite successful in this remote streaming of my music library for a couple weeks. However, in the past 5 days I can not select the "speakers", they are no longer recognized by iTunes. I made sure the iTune preference to scan for wireless systems was checked. It was.
The next option was to try to reconfigure using the program Airport Admin Utility. The AAU does not even find either Express unit. I did a factory reset on "extra" Express unit and connected it by my Ethernet LAN. Then the Express is detected.
One would think that my iMac or Express did not function as a wireless system. However, I am sending this message from my iMac, through the base Express that is connected to the internet. That function thankfully does work.
Can it be a corrupted Airport Admin Utility? I tried to find a download on the Apple site to no avail. I tried to find it on my Tiger install CD's.
    Any ideas?

  • Why won't external speakers work with my MacBook?

I've had my MacBook for awhile now. For the first time, I tried plugging in some external Dell speakers that I had used with my old computer. The instant I plug in the USB, my MacBook shuts down. Why is this?

Maybe the speakers are not compatible with your computer.  Contact the manufacturer.
You can try Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM to see if that resolves the issue.

  • Speakers stopped working on macbook

Internal speakers stopped working all of a sudden.  Headphones work just fine.  Under system preferences there is no choice anymore for internal speakers.

I have the same problem. the fact that this problem is existing since 2006 and Apple doesn't care, makes me very angry. All recommendations in the various forum are nice, but there is none satisfying me. I bought an Apple computer not a Dell machine. maybe I had better bought the Dell one, because I heard the service there is good. I bring my MacBook Pro once in the store to solve the problem. Lets see what they say.

  • Aluminum Unibody Macbook slightly unresponsive trackpad after scrolling

It has started happening as of late. It's quite bothersome though. After scrolling around or keeping my finger on the trackpad to do anything that takes some time to do, like moving something around really quick in photoshop or anything of that sort, attempting to click will almost always fail on the first attempt. Both tap to click and the physical click fail on the first attempt. It's quite bothersome and I was just curious if anyone knows what it is. Maybe it means its time for a new Macbook, but I'd rather not do that just yet.

What you're saying isn't true actually.
I work for an Authorized Apple Repair Center and we had a lot of customers complaining about the lag and unresponsiveness of trackpads in the latest generation of Unibody Macbooks.
The main issue is within the Flash 10.1 update is sometimes it is bundled with this software called "ClickForFlash" which only displays flash animations when you click on it. This causes a kernel error within Flash 10.1 that for some odd reason, directly conflicts with the operation of the trackpad.
Another reasoning is that in earlier generation (Mid 2009 and earlier) Unibody's, we've noticed that Flash 10.1 has some coding in it that refers to the trackpad's operation. By updating to the Beta Flash "SQUARE", you'll be able to eliminate this problem.

    I hope this helps.

  • Aluminum 2008 MacBook Trackpad issue

Any ideas as to what may be causing this. I have searched tons of threads, but my issue seems unique. The trackpad on my MacBook suddenly is unresponsive in the middle of it. If I touch the upper most and lower most portions of the trackpad it works nearly fine. The scrolling is a little off but still clicks and right clicks. I can drag and drop as normal, but as soon as I venture off to the middle of the trackpad it becomes unresponsive. I have pulled the battery, connecting to AC power only, even tried creating a new user account. No luck. Very odd. I've heard of pads not clicking or not scrolling or at all, but nothing along the lines of the middle not working. Any advice is much appreciated. Also I am running LIon 10.7.4

also one posibility is the battery in your macbook is swelling. since the battery is right under the trackpad if it is swelling (say in the middle of the track pad) then that spot is dead. since you laptop is fairly older (not to old) this is may be very well what is happening, if you go and click on the battery on the top right hand corner what does it say? (cant be pluged into outlet)
it should say if you battery needs replacing or replaced soon if every thing is going ok

  • None of my speakers work on my Macbook

My audio doesn't work at all. I know that some people have had the problem were a red light comes on in their headphone port, but from my understanding, that is from the port thinking that you have a headphone jack pluged in. However, I know this is not the problem, because if I go into system preferences/sound/output it changes from "headphones" to "internal speakers" when I unplug my earbuds. Please help, any suggestion or comments are very appreciated.

I fixed it. I found this link to reset my "PRAM," and followed all the instructions. Now all my audio works. If you see this, I hope it helps you too.
