Speakers phone button issues

my iphone 4 os 7.0.4 when i try to make phone call the speaker phone button automatically comes on. but there is no sound and no one can hear me. same thing when phone call comes in the speaker phone lights up but no sound with it on or off. sound works perfect for everything else. i can touch botton to turn off and back on but does no good

there are no devices paired via bluetooth. i do not even turn my bluetooth on. Also in the accessibilities features there are no buttons turned on. This is the main puzzler. I can listen to music, hear the sounds on apps and games and videos. but when i try to make a call the speaker button is on automatically and there is no sound. I can turn it off in during the call and still have no ound, also the person on the other end can not hear anything at all from me. Also when i try to cal my voicemail its the same thing.the timer on the top of the calls steadily counts but noone can hear me and i cant hear them or voicemail. I did however go to the genious bar on 1/21/2013. and when I first got there and hour and half early it was still haing issues but then when I showed back up for my appointment at 230, my phone decided to work properly for few minutes then the issue started again. So he went in and tapped the reset all settings button. well once that finished it worked again. So i asked if it does it again what do i do and he showed me the same thing. Well here's still the problem. I have reset the setting about 5 times since yesterday. and still have the speakerphone button lighting up and no sound on incoming and outgoing calls and voicemail only. So he also said to try a total restore and start back over from factory setting, ok so I have now done that also. So now what else is there to do to maybe fix this issue. I have not had good help even from the apple Genious bar.

You should ask your relative to physically take the iPhone to the store rather than shipping it because as diesel vdub has said:
"No Apple store will accept an iPhone shipped to them"
All you have to do is safely pack and ship your iPhone from the Philppines to your California-based relative.

IPhone 6 and Bluetooth phone connectivity issues with my vehicle: this is how I fixed it.

With so many threads on this topic, I wanted to detail the steps I took to fix my iPhone 6 Bluetooth issues regarding connectivity to my vehicle and handsfree calling. My phone was pairing with my vehicle without a problem and syncing my contacts and call history but when I attempted to make a call (from either the phone or the vehicle screen) the audio went out and I could not hear the call either through the vehicle speakers or on the phone. The call was going through but I was unable to see it on my vehicle screen and/or hear it either the phone or the vehicle screen.
Based on my research and what I have learned so far, the people having problems are those who restored their new iPhone 6 from an iCloud backup from a previous phone, rather than setting up their iPhone 6 as a new phone. I did an iCloud restore from my previous 5s running iOS 8.
First, I am a Verizon customer and I enabled Advanced Calling on my line. After I requested that this feature be added to my line, under “Cellular” settings on my iPhone, I enabled LTE voice & data.
Next steps:
1) Unpair/remove iPhone from the vehicle;
2) Forget/remove the vehicle from the phone Bluetooth settings;
3) Soft reset the iPhone;
4) Reset network settings on the iPhone; and
5) Pair the phone to the vehicle again and attempt to make a call.
If that does not work…
6) Perform a factory reset, erasing EVERYTHING from your phone and set it up as a new iPhone rather than restoring from a backup.
Resetting the network settings seems to be working for some people. It did not work for me. I tried it a few times with no result. I did the dreaded factory reset, paired the phone with my vehicle and had all of my Bluetooth functionality back and was able to use the handsfree phone with zero issues.
I was on the phone yesterday multiple times with Apple, Toyota Entune, Verizon and my Toyota dealer. Verizon blamed Toyota Entune, Toyota Entune blamed Verizon and my Toyota dealer blamed Apple. Nobody had a clue how to fix this issue or what was causing it. I don’t know the exact reason why the previous iCloud backups are killing the Bluetooth connections, I just know what worked for me and I thought it was worth sharing.

The new 8.0.2 update DID NOT FIX THIS ISSUE AT ALL. After you power off and on with the phone, same issue as the 8.0, all 3 of my cars lost Bluetooth connection and shows no signal at all. Good job Apple, what a lousy update you guys did.

7941 Phone Button template on CCM 4.2(3)

Has anyone got an overflow error message when trying to ad the customized 7941 phone template on CCM 4.2(3) devpack 3.3?
By default, the standard 7941 phone button template come with 1 Lone and one speed dial, but our environment here need a two-lines phone. While ny other model can have several version customized button templates but no 7941. Please kindly sugest on what I should check in order to acheive adding the 7941 phone button template.

I have let the TAC engineer and Developers took care over the case and they solved this issue for me already. The problem is a missing of line 2 record in standard 7941 Phonebutton SQL table. If you already have your case opened please refer the case number 604361587 to your TAC engineer so he/she can contact the one that took care over my case for the solution.

My wife's new iphone4 (a replacement for a 5 month-old iphone 4 with home button issues) is not recognized by itunes. Every other ios device in the house using that computer and Apple ID is. Any suggestions?

If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.

My Droid Incredible 2 started having problems yesterday. Fist I noticed that in my text messages, instead of contact names, it only shows numbers. Now I've noticed that when I hot the "phone" button to get the numpad, istead just a little gray "phone" message pops up. Please help, have tried rebooting, removing battery, etc.

IPhone 5 Power button issues after recent update.

After this most recent update, my power button is not working as it normally does. It takes two or three attempts to turn the phone off and more than once to turn it. Sometimes it turns on and immediately turns off. This is happening only after this update.

Yes 7.1.2 I had a 7.1 backup, and no issues with that... but then I did a clean DL of 7.1.2 and once again with NO apps on the iphone power button issues... as mentioned. So it is not the apps, nor songs, nor anything else...just 7.1.2 I am now running 7.1 no issues.

Ipad 3rd generation, iOS 8, home button issue, with fix

I have seen a lot of iOS 8 home button issues on phones but not much on the iPad. But I started having problems right away. Clicking would not get be back to the home screen. Clicking did not get me out of program. It was all intermittent too.
I found a good you tube video about ipad home button issues. First I tried recalibrating the home button. You hold the power switch down till you get the slider to turn off the iPad. then let go and hold down the home button till the screen changes. that seemed to fix most of the problems for a couple hours. But then it came back.
Next tried putting a drop of isopropyl Alcohol on my finger tip and pushed down and up on the outside edge of the home button, all around the circumference. Then did the cal again. That seems to have worked permanently.
iOS 8 is still slow but I guess everyone has that on anything older than a year.

Oh and Meg offered the right answer. Put your Apps in Folders, which will create extra space for the apps which have disappeared.

IPhone 5 home button issue iOS 8

iPhone 5 / 64GB / AT&T, previous OS: 7.1.2
After upgrading to iOS 8, single click the home button would sporadically bring up the multitasking screen, instead of going back to the home screen. This appears to happen regardless of what app I single click the home button in.
I have since performed the following:
1) Settings / General / Reset / Reset All Settings
2) Restore using iTunes, set up as a new phone
The issue persists.
I have then downgraded back to 7.1.2. The issue no longer appears. So this does not appear to be a hardware issue.
Anyone else seeing this?

The purpose of this thread is to assess if this issue has been observed by other users. While I wouldn't call the problem wide-spread, it does not appear to be an isolated case on my phone based on the feedback so far.
I am working with Apple support and providing them with diagnostics information. While the root cause is being identified, I do encourage affected users to leave a note in this thread with device configuration information.

HT1430 iPhone 4S Power Button Issue

I have an iPhone4S that has fallen to the broken power button issue - is there a way to restart it without the power button? My phone is acting strange and I know if I restart it then it will be ok. I am already using the Accessibility feature to lock the screen, but cannot figure out how to restart it short of letting the battery run out.

I have the same issue.... just hold down the lock screen button on your accessibility menu until it shows you the power down option. Then plug the charger in & it will automatically turn back on.

Ad mediator casuing lock button issues?

Hi everyone, i have developed a universal app for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1. I have used the ad mediator in the Phone package. Today after my app was certified i discovered an issue, running the app then quitting it will cause the lock button to
not lock the screen again but you can still shut down the phone, also if the screen is locked the you cant unlock it wilth the button or by double tapping, the only way to solve this is by soft-reset. I was able to reproduce it on a Lumia 925 and 520 however
i after a couple of times i failed to reproduce it again. This issue is very similar to the official chive app issue:

My app doesnt display any videos or GIF files, so it is not using any function to keep the screen on like the chive app did.
Both apps (the chive and my app) are universal and both are supported by ads, however i am not sure about what ad control they used.
So my question is: Is this a general bug/issue in XAML universal apps? Is it a bug in the ad mediator? or is it the combination or universal apps and ads that is causing this issue?
Also did you encounter such issue? if so how did you solve it?

"copy phone #" button on Treo 650 does not work!

has anyone else experiend this:
when i'm trying to add an unrecognized phone number into my contacts and i click on the "copy phone #" button, nothing happens.
any suggestion?!? thanks in advance!

I'm having the exact same problem. I also hear the error beep when I try to use that button.
Though using "Add to Contacts", copying the # from there, then deleting the new contact is a possible work-around, it sure isn't efficient.
I just emailed a report of this to customer support, not having found this posting the first time I searched through the forum. We'll see what kind of a response I get back from them. I'm guessing due to the general process of things, and due to other shortcomings of the "Call Log", it might just be easier to find a replacement application? Anyone have any suggestions, preferably free? I didn't see anything appealing at PalmGear (free or otherwise).
(Surprisingly, I can't find any other mentions of this issue, on Google or elsewhere! Though I don't see how we can be the only people with this problem. Just to eliminate the possibility of any conflicts with other software, I did a backup and hard reset, and still had the issue.)
My software version, according to "Phone / Options / Phone Info / Software" is "Treo650-1.04-CDMA", and am running "Palm OS Garnet v.5.4.8".

IPhone stuck after launching Phone button

This morning I woke up to find a voicemail waiting for me. So I did the slide and pressed the phone button to bring up voicemail. Only instead the iPhone just stopped. It showed an empty contacts screen and wouldn't respond to the home button. Then I held down the top button and slid the turn off, only to have the spinner sit there for a good three minutes. That not working I ended up reseting it by holding down the home and top buttons. After the restart it seemed to work fine. Hope that this will help anyone who has had the same issue.
Now for my question. Has anyone else had an issue with the Phone app like this?

I'm not a Cisco employee, so I can't do anything with your backup.!
You need to take a backup as a precaution (You should have been doing this anyway) Then you need to call Cisco TAC to get the underlying problem fixed. CalManager is a locked-down environment, and only TAC can get the low-level access needed to fix database problems.
