Speakers that won't charge anymore??

Hi
I have got some speakers for my iphone, they used to charge it and play fine. Now they still play but they won't charge? My car charger still works and my USB. I tried the same speakers with a friend's ipod nano the other day and they wouldn't charge that either so I think it must be the speakers. Any ideas if this can be fixed? Thank you.

I would say that the speakers are the problem here and not the phone. If the speakers are under warranty I would try to get them fixed.

Help!!!! my iPhone 4 won't charge anymore.. my iTunes doesn't even recognise it anymore, I've tried charging it from my computer and from the wall but nothing... don't know what to do. It was charging this morning but then i tried this afternoon and nothing happened, i really don't know what to do

    Hey nankhalifa,
These are the recommended troubleshooting steps for when your iPhone isn't charging:
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.

  • HT6154 Iphone 5s randomly won't charge anymore and won't recover or go into DFU mode

My Iphone 5s randomly won't charge anymore and won't recover or go into DFU mode. It died and it only shows the bolt symbol with the charger on the screen. When I plug in my charger the screen lights up but doesnt charge. I bought another charger to be safe and that didnt work either. My phone was working fine and this randomly happened

Carefully clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. If still problem, iPhone 5S has Warranty, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send iPhone to Apple for resolution.

  • Are there any iPod Speakers that do NOT charge your iPod when connected?

    Hi there,
I'm looking for an affordable iPod speaker that does not charge or gives you the option of not having your iPod charge.
I know people who keep attaching their iPod to the dock speakers that they have, and it constantly keeps charging and that literally killed the battery on their iPod's.
I know there is the Logitech MM32 (connects through headset jack), but not sure if that is compatible with the new Nano 3rd Generation.
Does anyone know of any other speakers that does not charge your iPod while connected (when connected to the wall outlet -> AC) or gives you the iPod not to charge the iPod?
    Thanks in advance!

Constantly charging does NOT kill the iPod battery, it is a myth.
Once the battery is charged the main charging stops and it is switched to 'trickle' charge which means it get a slight charge every so often.
There is not problem at all in keeping the iPod topped up, just make sure you discharge it fully approx once a month as per Apple's instructions here :-
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html
And general battery advice here :-
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/
The key is the number of full charge cycles you o through, if you only ever keep topping up the battery then you will not go through full charge cycles very quickly. If you only ever top up the last 5% of the battery then you can do this 20 times and it will only count as 1 charge cycle. Based on the 400 they say you can get from a battery before the capacity drops to 80% that would mean you could top up the battery that last 5% over 400*20=8,000 times.

  • Help! My IPod 4G won't charge anymore!

Before this incident, I would've had to tilt my Ipod in some position JUST to charge! But now, since I can't find the exact "position" for it to charge, my Ipod won't charge anymore. And plus my IPod died too.

    Have you tried another cable?
    Another USB port?
    Another computer or wall charger?
Have you looked int the dock connector and iPod a looked for abmormalities like corrosion, bent contacts?

  • I have an iPhone 4S that won't charge. I have tried with 5 different cords and 2 wall plug but it won't connect. It will work if I plug and unplug my phone for 20 minutes. Please help me!

I have an iPhone 4S that won't charge. I have tried with 5 different cords and 2 wall plug but it won't connect. It will work if I plug and unplug my phone for 20 minutes. Please help me! Do I need a new phone or is this something that can be fixed?

Clean out the charging port--make sure there's no dust or debris in there.  If that fails to solve the issue, bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

  • HT4623 my iphone 3gs won't charge anymore.

My wife's iphone 3gs won't charge anymore even tho we leave it charging all night.

You can clean the iPhone's dock connector with an old dry toothbrush.
You won't know for certain, but if no change after making sure the dock connector port is clean, more than likely there is some damage.
Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby where it can be determined if there is damage to the dock connector port or if there is another hardware problem.

  • My charging port on iPhone 4S is really dirty from previous owner. It's more than dust. It's affected the charging to where it won't charge anymore. How can I safely clean this out? Or will I have to go get it cleaned or something by apple? Thanks.

I bought my iPhone 4S from a friend and noticed right away that inside the charging port it's really dirty. It didn't affect anything so I didn't think much of it. Now though, it is not allowing my phone to charge at all. I've tried multiple chargers, adapters, and wall plug-ins and it doesn't change. It still won't charge. I'm not sure as to go about cleaning it. I don't want to scratch the part that connects to the charger. So how would I clean it, and would I need to just go to apple and let them deal with it?
    Thanks.

Are you sure it is not corrosion/rust from moisture damage?

  • Getting photo's off an iPhone that won't charge?

The other day I woke up to find my iPhone 4s, which is just over a year old, hadn't charged overnight. I've tried everything and I won't charge and has run out of battery so pretty useless. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to get photos and things off it, because i'd be a bit annoyed if I lost it all!
    Cheers

    Hello Gus Graham,
It sounds like your phone is not charging when connected to the USB cable that came with the phone. I recommend the steps in the following article named:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Battery won't charge anymore, charger light orange

    for some unknows reasons,
    my battery won't charge ,
the adapter light stay orange but the charge stay to 0%,
(or 40% for the brand new battery from apple store)
-i've tried to reset the PMU but no effect
-i've ordered a new Apple battery but no charging allowed,
it stay to 40% pre-charge when sector plugged or decrease the charge with only battery
the powerbook works with battery only or sector only, but charging the battery simply doesn't works.
-i've checked the charger, it works
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302461
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=32155-fr
-i've starded from a firewire harddisk with a new system : battery no charge
-i've made the test with the Apple Service diagnostic 2.5.7 CD
    (nothing found)
then it is a logic board issue ??
    for a almost 2 years-old machine it's a shame
what the procedure to follow in my country to diagnostic and fix ?
    PWB ALU 17" 1.5 Ghz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)
    PWB ALU 17" 1.5 Ghz   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Sorry to hear about your battery issue. When a battery appears to be failing, typically either the battery is bad or the logic board is misbehaving. You have a new battery and that didn't change the symptoms, you've determined the power supply is functional, and you've run the Apple hardware test from your OS X DVD and found nothing (the Apple hardware test tests the logic board). Do you know anyone with Applecare who has the TechTools Deluxe CD, that you could borrow to also test the logic board?
I don't expect this will fix it, however, you can also reset your PRAM/NVRAM by following the directions at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238.
It sounds like you need to take your system to an Apple store for analysis.

  • I phone 4s won't charge anymore only 8 wks old and after the update we just got to do

My I phone 4s is 8 weeks old.  I did the os update a few days ago and today when i went to use my phone it said it was low on charge.  I tried plugging it in to the computer no help.  I used my wifes cord from her I phone and still no good.  My wifes phone charges on both cables and she also did the os update at the same time.  I called verizon an after some trouble shooting with them they passed me over to a different tech support.  They told me that about 2 out of every 10 I phones get this problem and they will have to send me a new one in the mail.  Wow 20 pct of the I phones have this issue.  So now i'm assuming that I'm not going to be able to get my contacts or pictures out of this phone.  I'm just wondering if it was caused by the os that I upgraded too but all the post i see on line are of the battery draining faster than before havn't found a post about this issue

You can call Verizon to replace it or go to an applestore to replace it since it won't even power on with multiple chargers.

  • Is it possible to save a file that won't open anymore?

I have an Indesign CS6 file that I haven't opened for a few months and now it won't open and crashes Indesign each time I try opening it.
All other Indesign files are OK, but this one???
Does anyone have any suggestions bar recreating the file, which is my last resort.  I do have the PDF that I sent to the printers, but need to add in two new pages.
    Many thanks

I'd like to echo Peter's concerns about opening PDFs in Illustrator... Illustrator is not a PDF editor. The only PDFs that can be safely opened in Illustrator is a PDF that is saved from Adobe Illustrator using File>Save As>PDF.
There are other options available - Markzware can and do as far as I know convert the InDesign file to Quark and back to InDesign as a service - you could try contacting them if all else fails http://markzware.com/support/

The only full PDF files that Adobe Illustrator can safely open are PDF files saved from Adobe Illustrator itself using the save for editability option.
Why? Adobe Illustrator operates in +either+ CMYK +or+ RGB and +only one+ specific color space per document. Thus, a color-managed PDF file with more than one color space with opened in Illustrator would be ruined. Also there are many PDF constructs that Illustrator knows nothing about. At best, they are treated as foreign objects that cannot be edited. And for text, Illustrator only "understands" particular encodings. General PDF can lose text when opened in Illustrator.
Illustrator can often be safely used to modify specific, simple graphic objects as the vector graphics touch-up tool editor, but not much more.
    Proceed at your own risk!

Adobe Illustrator is not, repeat not, and repeat yet once again not a general purpose PDF file editor. Opening any arbitrary PDF file in Adobe Illustrator other than PDF files saved in that version of later of Adobe Illustrator with the editability option (which saves the Illustrator document editing data as private data within the PDF file) may result in content loss or corruption.
To answer your specific question, don't expect any PDF layers from AutoCAD to be preserved.

PDF layers are part of an overall feature known as optional content in PDF and are conceptually very different than Illustrator layers. Since PDF optional content features in general are very much a superset of Illustrator layers (PDFMaker for PowerPoint uses optional content to handle certain slide build features, for example), there would be no easy way for Illustrator to readily pick and choose what optional content features to support and translate. As such, don't expect this to be "rectified" in any way in future Illustrator releases.
(To make things even more interesting, both PDF and Illustrator layers are very different than Photoshop layers which allow for defined interactions between layers such as masking!)
