Speaking clock, twice?

Hi
I downloaded the English voice Serena for the speaking clock, every 30 mins. This was after I'd started using it with the default voice.
I now get 2 announcements, not quite at the same moment. How do I turn off the default voice please?

    Hello Forum,
    Can anyone decipher this?:

I was not surprised to see the transcript removed as posting of personal BT communcations on the forum is not allowed. Having read it earlier, I can confirm that it was gobbledygook and I'm fairly sure that other forum members would have struggled to solve your problem. I suggest that you contact the BT Care Team; they are the moderators who oversee the forum and will be able to look into it for you. They may take a few days to respond but you will get an immediate online acknowledgement with a reference number to note in case you need to follow up. It will be OK to quote the transcript in your message to the Care Team.
I've read it too and to me it looks like Claire is being charged for calls to the speaking clock (123) when she's not making the calls (she was out during the time the last one occured). Plus she did say only the hub is connected to the line.
If she can answer John's Q's, a customer may be able to solve it
Some Q's from me. What version hub is it and are these calls being charged to your normal landline number or possibly a BBT number?

  • The Speaking Clock call charge

I phoned the Speaking Clock (123) this morning to find out the correct time to reset my clocks for daylight saving time. About 50 minutes later I realised that I had accidentally left the phone off the hook. I can't remember whether I disconnected the call after getting the time or not -- if I didn't disconnect the call and I was connected to the Speaking Clock for nearly an hour, would there be a huge bill? I know it's 31p to call the Speaking Clock but no idea how much it would cost for a 50 minute call and I'm quite worried about that. Does anyone know or would the call just disconnect itself automatically? Thanks

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Calls to timeline are currently 32.5 including vat (for residential). It's a fixed fee call from a BT line :-

  • IPhone earpiece speaker fault

Hi my iPhone earpiece speaker crackled twice when I made a phone call and then stopped working can any one tell me if this is a common fault? it works fine with the ear phones or BlueTooth car kit.

Hold the Front Page - - I've fixed it
Thanks Goshia - plugging/unplugging the headset 8 times cleared the problem.
Now why does that do that?!!
Thanks again! I no longer have to look like an idiot with something growing out of my ear.

  • Rear speakers so

I use either CMSS 2 or Stereo Surround when listening to music on my computer. I have Gigaworks S750s (7.) and when I check the speakers the noise all sounds about the same volume. When I play music, however, the rear speakers are very soft... does anyone know why?

<IMG height=6 src="http://forums.creative.com/i/smilies/6x6_smiley-wink.gif" width=6> Gee I hope you have Speaker selection set to at least 5. not just Stereo.
Been answering a lot of these tonight I'll get ack to ya if I have more and not so tired.
Click the little Volume Icon by the clock twice to get the shortcut box of adjustments up.
There at the bottom is a Speaker Icon for that and a Speaker + which tests the set up.
Run it and see if what it says if changing the selection of speakers doesn't help.

  • Multiple channels in one task with ch to ch config

    Hi,
Normally the way I acquire sample from more than one channel on a cDAQ system is like this:
1, I create virtual channels for my AIs in MAX
2, in LabVIEW I use channel constants and merging them using comma as a separator (eg. with the concatenate string node).
3, the I configure the sample clock using the comma separted channels as an input
    4, start the task
    5, acquire samples
6, stop and clear the task
This worked just fine so far as I acquired samples from my cDAQ modules with the same speed and all of them were simple analog inputs. But I have to implement a strain gage measurement (NI 9237) now and I'd like to use the bridge offset nulling calibration VI to get rid of the offset I have. That complicates my structure.
It seems the VI I have created runs just fine but I am wondering if this is a legit solution as I used the sample clock twice. (the VI uses simulated channels for now)
Attached the VI (LV2012) and its block diagram image as well.
    Please advise. Thanks!

I have failed to realize that the offset nulling VI has another input called "skip unsupported channels". This is false by default, but setting it true resolves the problem without changing my structure at all.
    Well done, kudos to myself

  • Slow Start Up - Items Not Showing Up in Toolbar

I am running 10.4.10 on a MacBook Pro (2 GHz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB RAM), and lately the computer has been slow on start up. The biggest problem I'm having is that the items in the toolbar don't show up for some time after the items in the dock show up. These are the wifi antenna, the battery indicator, speaker, clock, name, blue tooth and spot light.
I don't want to be a complainer. I just don't understand the slow up, especially on the items on the toolbar.
Any thoughts on what may be causing this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Proximity Sensor Issue, But It's Not The Proximity Sensor...

So, has anyone had issues with apps that use the proximity sensor (like this one, for example: http://appshopper.com/utilities/touch-lcd-designer-speaking-clock)?
I noticed, the bright light of the sun seems to be messing it up, and was wondering if anyone else was having proximity sensor issues, without it actually being the proximity sensor (where it seems to think something is in front of it, when it is not).
When you watch the videos, please put your volume on mute, as there are outside, natural sounds and white noise, that will make you go deaf, if you have the volume on loud. The first video needs the sound on, but low.

its not that noone cares its that anything related to the proximity sensor has been beaten to death and frankly there is issues with it that may or may not be software related could be hardware related apple said they fixed it and they didnt fix it

  • HELP: S10-3 Audio Problem - Dolby Headphone

I have recently purchased a Lenovo S10-3 laptop.
One of the features that I noticed is virtual headphone surround sound by Dolby.
The problem that I have is that when I enable it, the volume becomes unbalanced. The left headphone speaker plays twice as loud as the right one. The sound quality is much better with it on and I really want to use it, but I cannot because of this problem. I tried individually adjusting speaker volume, but there is a significant loss of audio quality and surround effect if i do so, not to mention that the sound then becomes unbalanced again if I use the volume control.
I am using Windows 7 and the Win7 Drivers supplied with the laptop.
TL;DR: Left Speaker Louder than Right with Dolby Headphone Surround enabled.

This happens with any and all headphones.
My Realtek Control Panel looks different from that picture.
My one looks like this. (for both versions of the windows 7 driver)
The driver from the website is version 6.0.1.5989
The driver supplied with the laptop is version 6.0.1.6113
I am not sure whether this feature exists in earlier drivers and whether the problem exists in Windows XP.
My ancient PC sound card only works properly in XP, but I would not expect a new PC to have problems with windows 7 drivers.
Below is the closest matching image that I could find online. While mine looks slightly different, this is the feature that I am having problems with.
    Link to picture
The feature works similarly to Creative's CMSS 3D, but in addition to expanding the sound, the centre channel (L+R : Vocals and bass) seem to be panned to the left, and that is the problem.
The driver from the website does not have this feature. It seems it was included in the newer version, but not coded properly.

  • No way to set seconds on the Nano?

So is this an Apple thing...no way to set seconds on the Nano (or iPhone I believe)?

@convergentus, a couple of options for you :
    - Your nano will always reset it's time to the one on the Mac/PC when you perform a sync so if you set up your Mac/PC to a standard time source, or manually set the time to what you want, just perform a sync
If you wish to set the time with out performing a sync you could :
    - Goto Settings, General, Date & Time,Time and move the minutes wheel to one minute ahead.
    - Watching the time source you wish to use as the correct time (speaking clock, atomic clock, radio time check etc) wait until it clicks over to the new minute and click the Done button on the nano.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

I dialled 1471 the other day, and I had received a call from 123. I thought that was the number of the speaking clock!
Out of interest, why would the speaking clock call my landline? Or is it something else? Thanks to anyone who can explain.

The caller display number was probably faked.  The big problem with the whole caller display system is that if you control a digital exchange - even a little PABX (Private Automated Branch Exchange) - you can forge the caller display number.
This is not possible on the BT network, as the presentation number is determined by the BT exchange, which provides the ISDN30 block. This forms part of the ISDN30 configuration data.
On a VOIP system, not controlled by BT, then its quite possible to spoof the called ID if your call originates from a non-BT network outside the UK, where the carrier makes no attempt to authenticate the caller.

Did it stop after an iOS update? Sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility.
Have you went to Sony's support site?
    Sometimes this works
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

  • Ipod refuses to charge after battery lost all power

I have a 2nd generation 4g ipod nano & up until now it was working totally fine. it holds a charge well and can last for a while. however I kept forgetting to charge it yesterday and today the battery went dead.
on the screen it says "No batter power remains. Please connect iPod to power." so I did, and the message won't go away. i tried both my computer and one of those little ipod speaker clock things. the screen won't light up (well it hasn't done that in a while anyway) and the message won't go away, and it won't charge. when plugged into the computer, the computer doesnt recognize that its there. it was working absolutely fine a few minutes ago when it still had charge, so whats wrong ?

I would make sure the battery is completely dead, then try to plug into the wall with an AC adapter. If it still doesn't do anything, you may need a new battery. One place that does out-of-warranty iPod battery replacement by Apple-certified technicians is iResQ.com

  • Outgoing call audio issue

I bought an iPhone 4s in India two days back. I am facing a strange problem when I make audio calls. Very often (not all the time) I do not hear any audio after making an outgoing call though the call go thru' and timer starts clicking. When I checked with the people whom I called, they said that they got the call but did not hear anything at their end. The workaround that I figured out is to press SPEAKER button twice (activate and deactivate) when I encouter this problem. It seems to be working as of now. Not sure if this is a hardware problem or a software problem or if I am missing anything with settings. Can someone help me?
    Thanks !!!

    Hi raj1434,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are not hearing callers, or being heard on calls, use these steps to guide your troubleshooting:
    iPhone: Microphone issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5183
Make sure nothing is plugged in to the jack connector.
Make sure nothing is blocking any of the microphones (see the pictures below to locate the microphones on your device)
Make sure none of the microphones is obstructed by dirt or debris.
Turn the iPhone off and then on.
Make sure that the latest version of iOS is installed.
iPhone: Receiver and call audio quality issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5196
Increase the volume during the call.
Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver. If you're using a protective case or display film, remove it and try again.
Make sure nothing is plugged into the headphone jack or the dock connector.
Check the receiver opening to see if it is clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
Try another location with better signal. If the audio issue happens only when on a call, it could be due to the location.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a car kit, try turning off Bluetooth on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections.
If none of the steps above correct the behavior, back up your iPhone and restore the iOS software to factory settings:
