Special character in print

Hello SAP gurus.
For some inspection description we are using capital delta (Trangle) it is comming in print preview of certificate but after taking print of same in out put we are getting 'A' insted of delta.
Please suggest what may be reason of same.
Reagrds,
Dev123.

If it is showing in the print preview the problem is probably an issue with your printer and not SAP.  Have your IT folks verify that the printer you are using is set up with the proper character sets and fonts to print the symbol your trying to print.

  • Form builder include text special character not printed

    Hi,
    When you are editing an so10-text, you can add a SAP-symbol, (a large square by example)
    resulting in a number between brackets.
    The form builder does not recognize this as a symbol.
    It prints the number with brackets.
    How do you solve this in Form builder ?
    Thanks in advance
    Kind Regards
    Christine

    Hi,
    Strange you see the comma sign, I expected something like #. Anyway, which printer settings are you using? If you are using LOCL, try updating the SWIN device type. Is your system unicode or not? If it is unicode, check OSS notes for "cascading fonts".

  • Problem about printing special character in bex query analyzer

    Hi,
    in bex query analyzer i have created one restricted key figure , in which i have substracted two date with the help of replacement path.
    So i got result.
    But i am facing one problem. when in both date, if one date is null or # then it is giving some big value like -734567.
    But i want some special character like X instead of this big values.
    So how can i do this?
    With the help of if and else it can be done.
    But how can we print special character in report.
    Please help me
    Thank you in advance

    hi,
    You cannot show X in a formula result. You can highlight the row using exception.
    Still if you want to show X in the result then you need to create a formula variable on a char which returns X value all the times.
    Then you can use the three formula variable to write a formula so that it shows the difference:
    date1 -- formula variable
    date2 -- formula variable
    charx -- formula variable.
    the formula will be
    Count(date1)Count(date2)(date1 - date2) + charx *(count (delta(date1) + delta(date2))).
    this would return the X value if any of the dates are empty otherwise their difference.
    regards.

For the text we are using Text editor and Font family is 'COURIER' , device type is 'PDF'.   And also i tried with different Font fammilies, for that it beheaves differently but not displays as it is the special character ' - '.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
    Which device type is used to create the PDF? i.e. which deivce type is used in the OTF data that is converted to PDF? If you use device type PDFUC or SWINCF, then it should work fine. (see SAP not #999712 about unicode PDF conversion)

  • How do I get Special character Euro symbol € to display ?

    Hi,
    How do I get the euro symbol € to display in Flash from
    PHP file created in DW ?. It does not display it properly. I have
    simplified the PHP code I have is:
    <?php
    $msgtoflash = "This is the Euro Symbol &#8364";
    print ("&Databaseinfo=$msgtoflash");
    ?>
    The &#8364 is a special character code for HTML.
    If I use the $ or £ symbols it works perfectly but not
    € ?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    The way to get the euro symbol to display in Flash is to use
    XML. I have
    tested this, and it works:
    euro.php
    <?php
    header('Content-type: text/xml');
    echo '<root>
    <elem>This is the euro symbol:
    &#8364;</elem>
    </root>';
    ?>
    ActionScript 2.0 to display the value of <elem> in a
    dynamic text field
    called myText:
    var myXML:XML = new XML();
    myXML.ignoreWhite = true;
    myXML.onLoad = handleLoad;
    myXML.load('
    http://localhost/test/euro.php');
    function handleLoad(success) {
    if (success) {
    var theRoot:XMLNode = this.firstChild;
    myText.text = theRoot.firstChild.firstChild.nodeValue;
    } else {
    myText.text = 'Not working :(';
    Handling XML in ActionScript 2.0 is like poking needles in
    your eyes,
    but it's the only way I have been able to get the euro symbol
    from an
    external source into a Flash movie.

  • SM Special Character Displays as Bullet

    Hello,
    I'm using a form in Acrobat Standard 7.0 - OSX.
    When using the special character SM (Service Mark in superscript) it displays as a bullet. The TM which is also a superscript works fine.
    Can you think of any reason why?
    Thanks

    For the record there was a Acrobat Standard for Mac.
    When acrobat 6 came out, there was a standard and pro. But the standard version did nothing more than Mac's own PDF creation capability. Ther were such howls of Protest that when Acrobat 7 came out, there was no longer a  standard version. Please check you acrobat history. Standard for Mac could even create forms. then only thing it could do was create pdf's
    and also the was a standard and pro version of 5 also. The proversion had the print press capabilities built in. the standard version had the ability to create forms.  And I think 5.05a was the best version ever put out. You could even create PDF E-Books.

  • Reg: Special Character Appearing in Excel O/P.

    I am getting excel output generated via an Oracle report (CSV format). In the excel output, I am getting a special character for TAB (Chr9, a box). Since user wants to sort the data, because of this character they are not able to sort data in sheet properly.
    Can anyone suggest what could cause this special character to appear in the report output? I am looking from layout perspective also. Is this has something to do with the printing style applied to the concurrent program?
    Thanks In advance.

    I had the same problem and this is what I did, works great. You have the total control.
    function BeforeReport return boolean is
    fp text_io.file_type;
    begin
    -- creating a file name
    :CP_filename := 'C:\Gap'||to_char(sysdate,'MMDDYYHHMISS')||'.csv';
    -- Opening the file in write mode
    fp := text_io.fopen(:CP_filename,'w');
    -- writing the column headings into the file
    text_io.put_line(fp,'"Platform","Sys#","GapType",');
    text_io.fclose(fp);
    return (TRUE);
    end;
    and then where ever it is suitable, depending on the requirement, write into file by opening it in the append mode.
    function R_G_systemplatformFormatTrigge return boolean is
    fp text_io.file_type;
    begin
    --     srw.message(99,:dname);
    fp := text_io.fopen(:CP_filename,'a');
    text_io.put(fp,'"' || :systemplatform || '",');
    text_io.put(fp,'"' || to_char(:sysno) || '",');
    text_io.put_line(fp,'"' || :CF_gaptype || '",');
    text_io.fclose(fp);
    return (TRUE);
    end;
    This works great. Hope this helps.

  • Special Character Restrictions for Native XML Driver

    Hi,
    I have found the following special character restrictions in the documentation:
    "Because they are handled specially by the Native XML driver, do not use the following special characters to define element types and attributes in your XML schema:u201C.u201D, u201C/u201D, u201C\u201D, u201C:u201D u201C@u201D."
    After checking the createad XML-Files in our projects that we will use for CR4E there is often a  u201C.u201D in the definition. Because this is delivered from third-party, we wish that the  u201C.u201D  will be enabled.
    In the moment we create the XSD-Files from the XML-File with XML2XSD.
    It is possible in the future?
    Best Regards
    Arnold Meier

    The changes aren't in XI Release 2, but in 2008.
    Do you still have Nha's XML data?  I edited Document_Policy, Policy_AllCoverages, Policy_Beneficiary to Document.Policy, Policy.AllCoverages, Policy.Beneficiary, then use the following code in CR4E 2.0:
    reportClientDocument reportClientDocument;
    ConnectionInfo connectionInfo;
    PropertyBag propertyBag;
    * Connect to the Java Print Engine and create a new document.
    reportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
    reportClientDocument.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
    reportClientDocument.newDocument();
    * Define connection to the XML and XSD files.
    propertyBag = new PropertyBag();
    propertyBag.put("Local XML File", "C:\\Documents and Settings\\tueda\\Desktop\\nha.xml");
    propertyBag.put("Local Schema File", "C:\\Documents and Settings\\tueda\\Desktop\\nha.xsd");
    propertyBag.put("Convert Multivalue to Table", Boolean.FALSE);
    propertyBag.put("Database DLL", "crdb_xml.dll");
    connectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo();
    connectionInfo.setAttributes(propertyBag);
    * Specify the dataset in the XML as a Table, and add to the report.
    Table table = new Table();
    table.setConnectionInfo(connectionInfo);
    table.setName("Document.Policy/Policy.Beneficiary");
    table.setAlias("Document_Policy/Policy_Beneficiary");
    reportClientDocument.getDatabaseController().addTable(table, null);
    * Save report to file C:\local_xml.rpt
    reportClientDocument.saveAs("nha_local_xml.rpt", "C:\\", ReportSaveAsOptions._overwriteExisting);
    reportClientDocument.close();

    Hello,
    You could try something with special characters :
    e.g. this code
    &#171 material &#187
    produces this output
    « material »

  • Display special character for 'Artihmetic mean'

    I can't find the character for 'Arthmetic mean', it's 'x' with a line above, any ideas!?
    I've searched several font (Symbol, Wingdings etc) but didn't found that special character...!

    Oh, I do apologise. I saw the character on wiki and assumed it was a character, rather than a graphic.
    Usually, to create interesting unicode characters, you can combine diacritics. For instance, xbar is X followed by ¯;

     (might not display on unsupported browsers)
    However LabVIEW doesn't support this, and will print x ¯ and I can't find any info on how else it might be implemented.
    You might be able to find a hack in this document
    And in the meantime, you can kudo this suggestion
