Special characters in Appraisal Print out

Hi Friends,
I'm facing some problem related to printing of appraisal forms in OSA (MBO). There are some errors (letters, and spacing...) that are not visible when viewing the appraisal in the portal, where as they appear in the pdf file and printout. Also some lines are repeated in the printout.
Any clue how this can be resolved?
Thanks
Allen

Hello Ancolz,
Thanks for referring the note. I've got this note applied recently. But the issue is still not resolved. for characters like '-', I'm still getting '#'. Also bullet icons are shown as # and line spaces are not shown in the print pdf.
Can you think of any additional step to be followed?
Thanks
Allen

  • Special pricing discounts and print outs

Hi all, this is a two part question:
    1)  Can the following scenarios be achieved in Business One?  I am confused about some of the special pricing functionality.
    i) Can you discount based on the value of an order?  ie, if I buy $10,000 will I get a 2% discount off my invoice?
ii) Can we give away free goods with orders.  ie, if you buy one item, then another is free?
    2)  Does any of the discount information show on the invoice print out labelled clearly?  Say for the $10,000 example, will it show the 2% discount in the discount line of the invoice?
    Thanks for your help!
    M

One question for one thread please, as you know, it is a forum rule.
    Answer to your 2nd question:
Yes.  It is doable through a customized PLD although it may not be showed though default system PLD.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Special characters don't print from PDF

I have a PDF file that looks correct when it is viewed but when it is printed from Adobe reader, the following characters do not print:  ÇÃçãõé
Has anyone experienced this issue?  Does anyone know how to resolve it?
I am using Adobe Reader version 10.0.0.
    Thanks.

I do not know what causes your issue, or how to fix it.
But if I experienced the same problem I would try to
install the latest Reader version 10.1.3
install the extended font pack for Reader 10
check if there is any newer device driver for my printer available
Not sure if this will help in any way, but it's worth a try.

  • Special characters in PDF printing

    Hi All,
I am generating a document which lists instructions to verify Linux system packages. One of the command lines which the user is required to follow is:
rpm -qa --queryformat "%{NAME}-%{VERSION}.%{RELEASE} (%{ARCH})\n" | grep glibc*
However, if the above is present in my RTF template the generated PDF file is corrupt (file size is 0)
Are there any special character combinations which are not allowed in PDF's?
What would you suggest to bypass this limitation (except converting it into a JPG)?
    Best Regards,
    Pawel.

The point is that if you embed the fonts into the document, there is no outside dependency requirements.

  • I ack only type special characters, so I'm locked out. Help?

My cat stepped on my keyboard and some buttons on a wacom tablet. I thought the keyboard might be acting up when I could only type special characters, but I took out the batteries and plugged in another keyboard.

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • Output proper special characters in JSTL custom tag

I've written a custom JSTL Tag and want to output proper encoded special characters, like the c:out tag does (example: > to >). Do I have to parse that manually or is there a method within the jsp-api?

Custom JSTL tag ?????Oops. Custom tag, of course.
In custom tags, you have to manually parse it AFAIK.Somehow I can't imagine that such a frequently needed feature has do be done manually. Almost every tag that has to output data, has to convert special characters, otherwise cross-side-scripting would be possible.

  • Unmarshalling problem with special characters (Trademark, French

I'm using a DefaultHandler class to create a StringBuffer which contains a single (though very complex) element from an XML file. I am unmarshalling this StringBuffer object to a JAXBContext like this:
    u.unmarshal( new StreamSource( new StringReader( sb.toString() ) )
My special characters are going way out of whack (please read (TM) as the Trademark symbol)
T-Force(TM) Ring(TM) Bonded iron construction for durability and longer life
    becomes
T-ForceRing Bonded iron construction for durability and longer life
Before I put anything else into the StringBuffer I put this in:
    sb.append("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"iso-8859-15\"?>");
    But I've tried:
    sb.append("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?>");
    and
    sb.append("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"iso-8859-1\"?>");
    with different, but wrong, results.
It's true that I'm viewing these results on a web page, so it's possible that the problem is occurring on the back end once I persist the data, but it looks like my database is set for UTF-8 (that's what I put for this new installation of Oracle 9i R2).
Is there something basic I am missing. Like, perhaps, I need to do some sort of XML entity coding?
Thank you very much for any help you can offer.

Actually I had forgotten one additional thing. I have
tried testing one thing at a time, and I have sent the
special characters to the log file with logger.debug
statements (log4j). The characters are screwed up in
the log files, which is what makes me think I need to
do some sort of entity encoding. (?)I don't think that log4j provides any way to declare the encoding it uses for your files. My guess is that it's using the default encoding for your system, which could be a problem for things like the trademark character. So log4j really gives you just another thing to test, rather than acting as a testing tool.
I was thinking of a more low-level test, where you take your trademark character, which is 2022 or some such number (check the Unicode charts) and you write it to the database and read it back. Do you get the same character back? That sort of testing.

  • Reg:special characters are not priniting while selecting the CS language

    Hi All,
When I am trying to print in CS language some special characters are not printing.
Even when I was trying to create the entries in TTDGT table ,these special characters are not created
( příkazu) here r & i are the special characters. instead of special characters simply r and i were created .
Could you please advice me on this how to resolve this .
    Regards,
    S.chaitanya.

    Hello Chaitu,
I think you are working on scripts and trying to create the Script in different language?
However, try to copy the text in CS and paste it in STandard Text. If it is not displaying properly then Try to log in to the same language and try to paste that Text in the STanard text So10. If it appears properly then your issue is fixed.
Please let me know if the issue is while printing the Script form, i mean are you able to view it properly in the Print preview...?
If this is the issue then it is not an issue at your end user needs to check whether his printer is supporting their langauge or not.
Also check with the related language package . for ex I had worked on the Script form and tried to convert it into chinese i faced the same issue so when i checked with the System Admin he installed Asian Langauge Package in my system. After that I was able to convert the script into Chinese properly.
    Hope this will be helpful..

    Kittu

  • Understanding how to type special characters

We're running Frame 7.2p158 on Windows XP and experiencing unexpected results using keyboard sequences to insert special characters.
    1. Out of my group of 7, 2 writers say that Ctrl+q zero does not insert the multiplication sign in the default font. It works for the rest of us. I didn't believe this until I personally experiment with other combinations listed in the help that do not work on my machine.
    2. On the help page entitled Symbols Page for Windows, there is a list of Alt+Ctrl combinations that are supposed to insert Greek letters. None of these work for me. I have tried pressing Ctrol and alt simultaneously then the letter, as I do with the multiplication sign that does work for me. I have tried pressing Ctrl, then Alt then a letter, I have tried pressing all three at the same time. None of these work.
This makes me think I am missing some simple point, or omitting some step.
Does anyone out there have any idea what?
    TIA.
    Stan Stansbury

If you want to do the same, but also including the possibility to use Unicode do this (FM8!!!):
Hold down the Alt key and hit the + (PLUS) key on the numeric keypad followed by the hex code for the unicode character you want. For letters use the normal keys on the keyboard.
For example, to get permille, enter
    Alt + PLUS + 2030
If you are working on a laptop this becomes extremely ackward since the numeric keypad is often 'hidden' with the use of a function key of some sorts.
    keep smiling

  • PDF file will not print out Special Characters

I am currently a technician for a college and, and the customer that I am attending currently has the following Problem:
I am using Adobe PRO 9 to convert my Word files to pdfs for [a New York Printing Company].... The Greek letters used in Word are seen in Word, are seen in PDF, but do not come out in ...[the New York Printing Companies'] printing.
What could be the stubling block for the NY printing company to not be able to print out the Special Characters in the PDF files? I clearly cannot go to the company myself and tell them to change their printer settings or something like that.

Thank you, I have checked the font and I see all the fonts I need already installed. I am not sure if this will solve the problem, and there is a chance that the Adobe Acrobat settings on my customers PC need to be adjusted like you said.
At least I can start looking somewhere .

  • Problems with special characters with XML/PDF printing

    Hi,
    Our setup:
    Apex Listener 2.0.5
    Oracle DB 11G
    Weblogic
    Apex 4.2.2
    Various recent major browsers
We used this blog post so we could do some PDF printing with APEX Listener:
    http://marcsewtz.blogspot.be/2013/04/pdf-printing-with-oracle-application.html
The problem is special characters. For example the "&" sign comes out as "%26amp;" when we export an XML.
Could anyone provide some insights of what we can do to fix this?
    Regards,
    Joni

  • What's wrong with the built-in keyboard on my macbook? The caps button does not work rite, no matter what letter button i push they all come out capitals and the number keys when pushed display the special characters instead of the numbers!

the built-in keyboard on my macbook is not functioning right, the number keys when pushed display the special characters instead of the numbers,
the caps button doesn't work at all, the letter buttons display capitals when pushed whether the caps button is on or off, the shift keys are also out of whack!!
It seems it somehow got relocated to the "0" button because if you push and hold the zero button down the keyboard seems to operate normally, the number keys display numbers when pushed the letter keys display lower case when pushed but release the zero button and your back in the twilight zone!! Can anybody help me resolve this issue? one more thing im using an external usb keyboard right now and it seems to function properly if that helps any.

You would do better in the actual macbook pro forums (this is not).

  • Smart Web Printing does not show/print german special characters (äöü)

I have installes Smart Web Printing on my computer with WIndows 7. I do use a german localization. Selected text is shown and printed correct, except german special characters ä ö ü. They are even not shown correctly in the menues of the application.

    Response to cor-el suggestions:
I tried what you suggested as far as checking the theme (it's "Default 8.0") and deleting the sessionstore files (there was one .js file, one -1.js file and one .bak file). I still have the same slow response problems (especially typing, it has gone dead on me for a short time twice while typing this replay so far, now a third time) and lost of headers and trailers and some data.
I did the suggested actions three times just to make sure that I was doing them correctly. On the first try, the sessionstore.js and sessionstore-1.js was more than twice the size of sessionstore.bak. Since doing what was suggested, the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak are, I believe, the same size. I did not write down their size is why I am not certain.
The printing problem appears to only be with one website which is an investment website which I would prefer not to document here. I print from this website each weekday and I have confirmed that the printing problem started when the upgrade to version 8.0 occurred.
I need a solution to this or I am going to either go back to IE (Ugh!) or find another browser. The typing delays are an extreme annoyance since I do lots on the Internet including a lot of emailing. The delays also involve the buttons to select functions within a website.
Is there a way to get back to the version previous to version 8.0?
