Abudl

Hi,
If you go the the information system under the Accounts receivable or Accounts payable, when you select any report, select the "Special G/L indicator" button to select the type of transactions you require like down payment, deposits etc. one example of the report is S_ALR_87012172 for customer balances.

  • How to use special characters in Report Builder

    Hi everyone,
I wonder if you guys can help me. I'm trying to change our Invoice hearders from English to Portuguese. Eg, I've changed this English heading
("FOR ACCOUNT QUERIES CONTACT") to this Portuguese heading ("PARA CONSULTAS DE CONTA CONTACTE"). So when I'm done, my entire invoice will be in Portuguese. This works fine, until I get special characters in some of the Portuguese translations. I can copy and paste the translations with special characters into Report Builder. But when I print the invoice in Oracle Apps (with a PDF output), the special characters get replaced with a "?".
    Here's an example:
< "Line No" should read "Linha nº" but it prints out as "Linha n?" > Does anybother know how I can resolve this? I'm using Report Builder: 10.1.2.3.0 on Oracle Apps: 11.5.10.2 and RDBMS : 10.2.0.4.0
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
You need to have Portuguese font installed on your machine, if you are running the report from your machine or else if you are running the same from report server then the font has to be there on the server font dir.

  • Special Characters in Report Name or Report Description(URGENT)

    Hi All,
I am using Hyperion Financial Reporting System 9 tool. Could anyone tell me what problem we face if we use special characters in report name and report description?
    Waiting for quick response.
    Regards,
    SN

when using "&" in report and folder titles we had issues with report books not being able to run and also the report name would be incorrectly described.
try to avoid if possible, there is a lower risk if using on an all windows enviroment (clients and servers) but if you have *nix OS it does introduce complexity.

  • Review changes in Special Purpose Ledger Report

    Hello,
When I go to Accounting --> FI Accounting --> Special Purpose Ledger --> Tools --> Report Painter --> Report --> Change (Tcode GRR2), I can make a change to one of the reports in the library.  When I go back into the report in Tcode GRR3 and select Extras --> Overview, the Change counter is increased by one and the date changes, which means that the change has been recorded.
What I'm looking to find is the place in SAP that logs what has been changed.  When I make a change to a G/L account, a customer, or even a sales order, SAP keeps a log of the changes that were made the account or transaction.  I can't seem to find the log of the changes to this report that has been changed and need to find it!  This change log is critical to the business for auditing purposes, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the information Louise.  Additionally, to see a log of changes to multiple G/L accounts over a specified date range, SAP program RFSABL00 can be executed via Tcode SA38.
Unfortunately, from what I've seen so far there is no historial change log in SAP for reports.  The only post on the net that I've found regarding this issue is at [http://www.sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=219528], and within the post on that site it states to execute a business process to upload documentation of changes made within the report.  From my point of view, the changes logged to report configuration are akin to saving a Notepad file within Windows; the file properties state who changed the file and at what time it was changed, but it doesn't tell you the content that was changed.
I'm keeping this open in hopes that anyone out there in SAP-land can find something!

  • Replacing space with special char in reporting

I have created a calculatd Keyfigure where if the consition given in the calculated KF satisfies then it displays 1 otherwise space ,now mu user wants space to be replaced by some special charcter
    Example
My ckf is like this overallscore >= 90 & Iam applying count on this
    Vendor   CKF
    X              1
    Y
    Z                1
As vendor y is not satsifying the condition its showing with space now I want to replace space with some special char how is this possible

    Hi Priya,
You can try this: Instead of space, fill this with a 0. Then in the query properties, set the Show Zero As and give your special char, like may be *. But this will be okay if you do not have other zeros in the report...else you may need to do some VB coding.
    Hope this helps...

  • Special periods in reporting

    Hello friends,
Let me ask, maybe you'll have the idea how to implement the functionality I need. I use 16 periods in my BW implementation (12 months and 4 special periods). When running the report, user can put the period as a selection. It means that user puts "5" to see may data etc. But when user puts the special period, for example "14", he/her should see actually periods 12-14, as special periods are assigned to December in my firm.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Kooyot

    Some thoughts:
For periods from 12 and beyond ( to cover all the special perids), make a separate variable filled by an exit. The exit should apply the logic : if the period is >12, then read the data from 12 onwards untill the value entered , for example, if the value entered is 13, the variable should read 12 & 13 and the data to be displayed accordingly.
With the variable mentioned above, create a restricted key figure and use the same in the query.

  • Special purpose Ledger - Report writer

    Hi,
I created a report using report writer. The purpose of the report is to display the margin, business area wise.
I have two company codes with different currencies using the same business area.
    My ledger currency is USD
    Cocd 1 = USD
    Cocd 2 = CAD
If for a GL a/c I want to display the values for both cocd in USD as well as CAD, how do I do the same.
Is it possible to display two currencies in one report.

Thank you for the information Louise.  Additionally, to see a log of changes to multiple G/L accounts over a specified date range, SAP program RFSABL00 can be executed via Tcode SA38.

  • Printing special character from report

I was reading thru the other discussion on the same subject as I hv a similar problem. I am trying to print the character ' in a report. Note that it is not coming from the database. It is a hard typed character in the text of the report. It works fine on NT but doesn't work when we run the report under Unix. Currently our report server is on Unix so.. It just prints a '?'. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

I was wondering if there is a way to bypass
Unix fonts and send the character to the
printer using PL-SQL code in this
particular case. Any idea?Ideas, maybe, answers, no. I haven't had
that particular problem, but if I did, I
    would:
    1) First step: make sure you can generate
a report that has the correct character
code value and that your Unix OS doesn't
force it to '?' because of US7ASCII.
    2) Second step: make sure the printer is
given something it can understand; the
character has to be in it's font palette
too. Either it has to know what to do
with B1 hex, or you have to put a header
in your output file telling it how to
    interpret that.
Good luck, sorry I couldn't help more.

  • Error when trying to open a report

    Hello,
We have installed Oracle Discoverer Desktop on a Windows Vista 32bit following the documents from the oracle support page.
We are able to connect to the database and see all available report but we get a "Program has stopped responding" message when trying to open certain reports.
For other reports it works great.
Do we need to check something in our windows ? Change something in the Discoverer install or in Windows ?
    Please advice.
    Thank you and regards,
    Sorin Miroiu

We are running a 10.2.0.4.0 Database on a Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-47
    cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.4.21-27.ELsmp ([email protected]) (gcc version 3.2.3 20030502 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-47)) #1 SMP Wed Dec 1 21:59:02 EST 2004
    The discoverer version is 10g.
There is nothing special to those reports we can't open. We aren't able to open them just on Windows Vista. They open just fine on a Windows XP.
Also Discoverer Administrator is working OK on the Windows Vista machine.
Is there an Oracle bug listed for this issue ?

  • Events in Reports

    hi ,
can any one help me the events or any sample codes used for the below reports
    1) ABAP Query Report
    2) Report Writer / Report Painter
    3) logical database reports
    thanks
Edited by: Alvaro Tejada Galindo on Feb 4, 2008 2:43 PM

    ABAP/4 Queries
Many times a need arises for SAP Users and Functional Consultants to generate quick reports without getting any ABAP coding done – time taken to complete the coding in development, transport and test it in QA system and then transport to production – is sometimes too long. In such cases, ABAP/4 query is a tool provided by SAP for generating these kind of reports.
This document aims at explaining the concept of ABAP/4 query in a simple and straight forward manner. The reader of this document should have a moderate knowledge of ABAP concepts and authorizations for understanding the concept of ABAP query.
    Type of Report Desired
Before starting to write an ABAP query, its advisable to decide the type of report that the user wants. ABAP query provides the following type of reports:
    Basic List        Simple report
Statistics         Report containing statistical functions like Average &Percentage
Ranked List     Report written for analytical purpose
Check this link for more details.
    http://www.thespot4sap.com/Articles/SAP_ABAP_Queries_Introduction.asp
    Report Writer / Report Painter
Initially, both tools were only available to the FI/CO modules. Later, with the introduction of the Logistics Information System and Flexible Analyses in Release 3.x, the functionality of these tools was further expanded. It still is not widely known that the Report Painter/Writer can be used for reporting against structures other than those delivered in FI and CO
A common misconception in the user community is that Report Painter/Report Writer can only be used to report against a single table. However, some reporting structures do report against multiple tables. For example, CCSS (for Cost Center Accounting) refers to tables COSP, COSS and more, depending on the key figure configuration. Similarly, FI-SL (Special Purpose Ledger) reporting structures include summary and line-item tables (the key figure set determines where the data comes from).
To configure other table joins, views may be created joining the necessary tables, and views can be added to the control tables, via Flexible Analyses in LIS. Report Painter/Report Writer can be used in almost any application area in R/3 to report on currencies and quantities.
    CHeck this for more details.
    http://sapabap.iespana.es/sap/info/report_painter/report_painter_02.htm
    logical database reports
Logical database is another tool for ABAP reports. Using LDB we can provide extra features for ABAP reports.
While using LDB there is no need for us to declare Parameters.
Selection-screen as they will be generated automatically.
We have to use the statement NODES in ABAP report.
If there are many tables the Performance will be slow as all the table data will be read from top node to bottom node .

  • SQL Server Reporting Services Licensing

What end user licensing is required for a deployed SSRS solution? Is a run time execution license required for end users, and does it vary on whether or not they can amend run time parameters?

    Hi Brian,
End user licensing is not required for a SQL Server Reporting Services deployment.
Only server licensing is required. However, there have 4 scenarios for licensing a SQL Server Reporting Services depolyment. Please see the section “How to License Reporting Services” in the following article for more information:

  • Problem about printing special character in bex query analyzer

    Hi,
in bex query analyzer i have created one restricted key figure , in which i have substracted two date with the help of replacement path.
    So i got result.
But i am facing one problem. when in both date, if one date is null or # then it is giving some big value like -734567.
But i want some special character like X instead of this big values.
So how can i do this?
With the help of if and else it can be done.
But how can we print special character in report.
    Please help me
    Thank you in advance

    hi,
You cannot show X in a formula result. You can highlight the row using exception.
Still if you want to show X in the result then you need to create a formula variable on a char which returns X value all the times.
Then you can use the three formula variable to write a formula so that it shows the difference:
    date1 -- formula variable
    date2 -- formula variable
    charx -- formula variable.
    the formula will be
    Count(date1)Count(date2)(date1 - date2) + charx *(count (delta(date1) + delta(date2))).
this would return the X value if any of the dates are empty otherwise their difference.
    regards.
    Arvind.

  • Error trying to display reports in JRC

    Hi,
We have written some rather complex reports using Crystal Reports 2008. The reports are working well within the report editor, but when we try to run them in a JRC web application, they both fail.
We have 2 different error messages:
    Error
    Invalid Join Tree node.
    and
    Error
    Unexpected database connector error.
The datasource is a JDBC connection, and the same errors occur with MySQL and Microsoft SQLServer. We use an SQL Command in both reports, to call a stored procedure. We also use subreports. The datasource for both reports is fairly similar, so nothing to explain the different error messages.
After logging the queries in MySQL, I found out that Crystal Reports will send all the required querys, but JRC doesn't send a single SELECT query. The other difference is that JRC sends a CONNECT message multiple times, without sending a password.
32 Connect     Access denied for user 'demo'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
33 Connect     Access denied for user 'demo'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

    50 Query       SHOW COLLATION
    50 Query       SET NAMES utf8
    50 Query       SET character_set_results = NULL
    50 Query       SET autocommit=1
We have written other reports using the same SQL Command to call the same Stored Procedure, and they work just fine. There is something special about those reports that we can't figure out.
We use the same JDBC connector for both the report editor and the JRC web application.
I have also written a quick-and-dirty Java viewer application, based on the CR Java Runtime 12.2.200, and the same problem occurs.
Same with previewing the reports in Crystal Reports For Eclipse 2.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Is there something obvious that we are missing?
    Thank you,
    JC

Got round of the problem of multiple failed database logins now, by setting the database username and password to all subreports as well as the main report:
    reportClientDocument.getDatabaseController().logon(DB_USER_NAME, DB_PASSWORD);
    IStrings subreportNames = reportClientDocument.getSubreportController().getSubreportNames();
    for (int i = 0; i < subreportNames.size(); i++) {
      ISubreportClientDocument subreportClientDoc = reportClientDocument.getSubreportController().getSubreport(subreportNames.getString(i));
      subreportClientDoc.getDatabaseController().logon(DB_USER_NAME, DB_PASSWORD);
However my main problem is still there, I get the same error message as before, and no query whatsoever is sent to the database:
    090311 11:43:17        2635 Connect     demo@localhost on demo
                 2635 Query       SHOW VARIABLES

                 2635 Query       SET character_set_results = NULL
                 2635 Query       SET autocommit=1
                 2635 Quit
If anybody can make sense of the stack trace, there it is:
