  • Document number ranges in entry view and in General Ledger view

What is the difference between Document number ranges in entry view and in General Ledger view ?
We have new GL activated in our system , and  found that the  GL Document types ( SA) are assigned to document number ranges in entry view . What is the need to define document number ranges in General Ledger view ?

    Hi,
Document Number Range in entry view is the document numbers which are posting in your leading ledger. You cant achieve the same document number range to the general ledger view. A General ledger view can have both Leading ledger view and non leading ledger view therefore document number range should not be kept same for both ledgers as your running document number gets skipped.
That to some times you can only post documents to only Non Leading ledgers. Therefore a separate number ranges needs to be created for general ledger view
    Hope u understood.

  • Incremental number range in non leading ledger

    Hello Experts,
I have a serious problem with regard to number ranges in non leading ledger.
I have defined number range from 8000 to 8999 for document type SA. When I do a posting in FB50L, document number for non leading ledger is created as 8001. I am OK with this. But system is showing current number in use as 8099 instead of 8001. I have changed manually the current number as 8100 and posted one more document. Now document number is 8002, but number in use showing as 8199. If I post now document number will show as 8003, but number in use will show as same 8199.
Please advise me how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

Check in SNRO for numbe range object RKE_BELEG if any buffering has been set.
If yes, then go to Edit-Set up buffering and set to No buffering.
Also check in FAGLFLEXA on the last document number posted and maintain that number as the current number in number range in FBN1.
    Thanks and regards

  • In search of a 'special' number range of validator

    Hi,
I am developing a JSF based web page with a text field that can hold numbers.
I want to add number range to this text field so that user does not enter more than a allowed range of numbers.
I am aware of multiple options JSF and its various flavors provide and below is the option I am considering -
Add a validator which will be called upon typing the numbers and the validators returns with an error message shown on the UI.
However, I was wondering if there was any validation any of the JSF flavors provide that can validate number range on typing and automatically truncate the number to the range provided.
As an example, if the range is 0.0 to 99.00, as soon as the user types 100, the validation truncates the value to 10 by removing the leading 0. A error message would be even great but not mandatory. Similarly, upon typing 99.999, the leading 9 would be truncated making the value 99.99.
The reason I am looking for such a feature is because I have a editable datatable with the date split into multiple pages with a richfaces scroller in between.
I am using a doublerangevalidator facelet which does validation and shows error message alright. But I want the error message to persist even after going to the next page in the scroller, which is not happening right now.
The idea is to have the user see all text fields that violate the number range as a comprehensive list of errors on the page.
Since I am not able to achieve this using any of the validators provided by JSF RI or Richfaces, I am looking to atleast prevent the user from typing invalid data.
    Thanks for the help.

A validator is meant to validate the data, not to change the data.
Have you looked in the converters corner anyway? Implementing one yourself isn't that hard.

  • About a special number range

    Hi experts,
I'm doing the initial download of customers from R3 to CRM4.0. One of the KTOKD has assigned the following number range:
    From T001  To V999
My question: Is possible to configure the same number range in CRM? My customer wants to maintain the same number customers but I don't know how to set this number range in CRM (I tried but the system alert me that this range is not a numerical one.)
It's an issue very urgent. Please help me, I'll reward all useful tips.
    Thanks in advance
    Javier Merino

    Hi Jörn,
    thank you for the answer.
I want to download customers from R3 to CRM but my problem is that I can't create a number range in CRM which be the same used in R3 (T001 to V999).
This range must be external in CRM as I know but it's impossible to create this range with this notation.
    Hope you understand me.
    Thanks

  • CRM ISA R/3 Edition on AP 7.0  Pricing Routine Number range error

    Hi Experts,
For our R/3 ISA Secenerio I have developed a Pricing Prepare Routine (PRP). I have uploaded this routine into AP 7.0 ( which runs my IPC 5.0). Now when I try to register my PRP routine I'm not able to do so because of Number range not defined for Application V Scenerio A and Routine Type PRP.
    My question are:
<b>1)</b> For a PRP type Routine( Multiple Implementation) is it important to assign a
routine number?    ***( according to pricinguserexit manual dummy routine no
                                      has to be assigned)******
<b>2)</b> If yes then how can i assign Number range for this combination.
NOTE: AP 7.0 has SP 7 ( So it fullfills requirment for Special scenerio)
I have never recieved a reply for my query from this forum... hope someone helps this time. <b>:)</b>

  • Excise invoice number range - for selling to SEZ

    Dear All,
While creating excise invoice for selling in SEZ unit, Excise invoice type is taking Deemed instead of LOU.  Because of this system is asking to allocate number range using J_1IEXLOC number object. Series group is 12 for EXPORT. As selling to SEZ is export under LoUwe would like to use number range in combination series group 12 and   number object J_1IEXCEXP which is already maintained for export under LoU.
Please give solution as soon as possible.
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Dear Sagar,
Because in case of SEZ, they get a special status by the Tax authorities in which various Tax scenarios doesn't come into picture, they can be a export oriented org and so get exempted from duties like Excise etc in normal scenarios but the SAP system picks the number range object J_1IEXLOC or J_1IEXCEXP based on your ship to party..and some other factors...so obviously in deemed export your ship to party will be within India, check with your ABAPer...that is why in case of deemed export J_1IEXLOC is getting picked by the system.
In case you want to change..you need to write a exit..say for these kind of customers..maintain a seperate customer group..and from that system should check which number range object should be picked.
    Thanks,
    N

  • How to change number range for document type ?

    Dear All
    Experts
How to change the number range for document types for entry view? I am trying to change the number range for all document type as per defined ranges in FBN1, but at the time of saving document type and number range the system is throwing error message as
Doc. type C1: Number range 07 is used for ledger L6 with doc. type AE
    Message no. FAGL_LEDGER_CUST093
I have defined a leading ledger in system too with these settings
    1)     Define ledger for accounting.
    2)     Defining currencies for it.
    3)     Defining ledger group for the same.
    4)     Defining accounting principles
    5)     Assignment of principles to leading ledger.
Are there any extra settings required for leading ledger settings?
I have some doubts those are :-
How document types defined at ledger level?
How to define them at leading ledger level?  (Like my case)
Focus on this will be appreciable.
    Regards,
    Sharvari Joshi.

    hi ,
The document numbers in the leading ledger and the non leading ledgers should be in sync, they should not have any differences, so incase you are trying to change the number range for C1, the  number range 07 is already been assigned to doc type AE. i guess you have cant use 07 for C1. may be you can try out with an other number range. check this and let me know if you are able to do this.
    coming to
1.How document types defined at ledger level?
2.How to define them at leading ledger level? (Like my case)
Ans 1. please try defining document types for entry view in a ledger.
path : SPRO- financial accounting new -financial accounting global settings new - document -document types -define document types for entry view in ledger.
upon prompt enter the ledger and go ahead creating the number ranges for the document types.
    Hope this helps.

  • Overlapping Number Ranges for GL Accounts - does this allow duplicates?

    Hi there,.
I am just-trying to understand GL numbering ranges.
If I create two GL account groups with overlapping number ranges, what (if anything), is stopping me from creating two GL accounts with identical numbers.
When l try to do this in fs00 I get a message telling me that the account already exists in the company code. Surely having the concept of an account group with overlapping number ranges implies that the account group forms part of the GL account's unique key and therefore allows duplicate GL account numbers.
Or does overlapping mean the ranges ovelap but the GL account numbers have to be unique?
    Confused
    Gerald.

    Hi,
Since a chart of accounts contains many different types of accounts, they can
be grouped into different account groups. Usually, one account group groups
accounts with the same tasks within the general ledger, for example, cash accounts,
material accounts, asset accounts, profit and loss statement accounts, and so on.
By assigning a number range to an account group, you can ensure that accounts
of the same type are within the same number range. Number intervals for G/L
    account master records can overlap.
You must enter the account group in the chart of accounts segment; it controls the
appearance of the company code segment of a G/L account. For example, for all
of your cash accounts, you want to be able to display all of the line items. In
Customizing, you therefore alter the field status for your “Cash Accounts” account
group to make “line item display” a required entry field.
    Thanks

  • Not able to created Number Ranges for Asset Classes in AS08

    Dear Friends,
I am not able create Number Ranges for Asset Classes in AS08.
It is giving me an error message as company code does not exist.
When I Check Consistency under path SPRO -> Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Preparing for Production Startup -> Check Consistency -> Overview Report: Company Codes. I am getting the following
    RSOL  Reliance Sealink One PLtd
    CoCode no. alloc.    NKTR
Fiscal Year Variant  V3   Apr.- March, 4 special periods
    Start 2nd half month 00
    Transfer date        31.03.2006
Chart of dep.        TOLL Chart of Depreciation - For Highway Projects
Net worth tax        01   Book depreciation as per Compinies Act 1956

Doc. type dep. pstng AF   Dep. postings
    > Number range &1 in co.code &2 for doc.type &3 must be defined as internal
    Calc.insur.value
    Input tax exempt
If you see the above first two line you will find the difference is that Company code RSOL in the first line and NKTR company code in the second line.
Actually CoCode no. alloc. has been wrongly copied as NKTR while copying CoCode it should be RSOL and not NKTR.
I think because of this wrong allocation it is giving me an error in AS08. Also it is not showing me CoCode in drop down list in AS08.
Please help me to resolve the problem.
    Thanks
    Rahul Jain

Look in TC OAOB if the company code is assigned to a chart of depreciation

  • Clear Vendor Down Payment F-54, Number range

    Hi Experts
I tried to clear the vendor down payment using the T-Code; F-54, It is displaying a error message as "Number Range 17 is Missing for the year 2010"
    Message no. F5150
    Diagnosis
The document type you specified has been allocated to a number range in fiscal year "2010" that has not been created.
    - Should we need to create a New Number range for this document type.
    -  Is this a New requirement in ECC 6.0?
    - Is this linked to the New GL feature?
    Please share your views.
    With Regards
    Siva

    Hi,
The document type you are using is referring to number range maintained with the id 17. You need to go to FBN1 transaction code and maintain a number range for id 17 for the year 2010.
Normally the accounting document number ranges are maintained year specific so that every new fiscal year will restart at 1 and not continue from last year.
As corrected by Ramnuja, you need to maintain number ranges for entry view and general ledger view (new GL feature).
For you the number range 17 has not been maintianed for 2010 and you need to maintain it.
    hope this helps.
    thanks and regards,

  • OMX4 - FBN1 - Number range for Material document and FI document

47 - is for FI document number range in Material ledger FBN1.  OMX4 gives number range for Material document.  My question is how big the number range must be?  Since thousands of Materials involved, I couldn't imagin this?
Anybody knows, how to determine the size of no. ranges in Material Ledger configuration?  SAP simply says, check no. ranges whether it meets the requirement....
I don't expect an answer again, just check your business, how many transactions would be in a period, which is not quantifiable now?
I would like to understand this from somebody's experience of using insufficient or excessive no. ranges, especially in this area.
    Cheers,
    Ashok

What is the number range you are using? Year Dependent or Independent?
When you don't know the document number consumption pattern you should use Year dependent number range in both OMX4 & FBN1. Observing this for a month will give a rough Idea and observing for a Quarter will give you a fair Idea and the result for a year gives almost near to accurate consumption of number ranges.
The generation of documents is dependent on the number of materials and Profit centers involved. As much as possibe use Summarization at profit center level when posting to FI. This will reduce the number of documents and line items that are getting generated.
