Special Procurement MRP View VS. Costing View

Hi Experts,
What's the difference between the 2 Special Procurement Key in the MRP veiw and the Costing View?  Should they always be the same?
Thanks,
Kumar

Hi,
MRP:
You use special procurement when you want to be able to override the procurement type in the material master or define the procurement type more precisely.
If the procurement type is in-house, you can nevertheless force the system to ignore the BOM and routing, and process the material as if it were externally procured, by specifying the special procurement as external.
Costing:
If you enter a special procurement type in the Costing view of the material master record, it will be used in costing.
If you do not enter a special procurement type in the costing view of the material master record, the system will use the special procurement type in the MRP view.
For further Clarification revert.

  • Special procurement key 65 in MRP view.

    Hi gurus,
    I have two plants A & B.
    A = manufaturing plant.
    B = planning plant.
In plant A, we have maintained special procurement key as 65(withdrawl from alt.plant B)
In plant B, we have maintained special procurement key as 55 (production in another plant A)
My question is that mandatory to maintain 65 in the plant A. What might be the effort if you not maintain.
    Please explain.
    thanks in advance.

    Alapati,
You cant define special procurement key in both plants for the same material as defined by you. If Plant A is manufacturing you can have special procurement key assigned to the material in Plant B as "Production in Alternate Plant".

  • MRP uses special procurement type L for material .ME174

    Hi All:
1 .When I tried to create PO for non-valued  material using ME21N,SAP displayed message "MRP uses special procurement type L for material"- .ME174.
(Non-vaued material is customized material type which has no accouting view and  is supplyed by suupplyer for free.)
2.I checked  the material setting in MM03 finding that the Procurement type has been set as 'F' and the Special procurement has been set as '30'.
3.I checked  the SPRO finding that the setting as  following path finding that Special  procurement has been set as L.
IMG > MM > Consumption-Based Planning > Master Data > Define Special Procurement Types
So what other problem is with my setting or configuration for the creating PO?
      Thanks.

    Hi,
You may want to double check the customization entry for special procurement type 30. Do ensure you are checking for the correct plant and you have "L" maintained against special procurement in the details section.
If this doesn't help, a post in the MM forum - SAP ERP - Logistics Materials Management (SAP MM) could help.

  • Costing run for materials with special procurement key

    Hello,
Since moving to ECC6, the costing run for materials with special procurement keys is not pulling the marked price from the materials the special procurement keys point to. Only the released prices are pulled.
    Example:
Material A, plant A has a future price (costing 2 tab) of 100 and a current price of 99
Material A, plant B has special procurement key Z1 (costing 1 tab) which pulls the costing from Material A, plant A
In our old system (46c) the costing run for Material A, plant B would pull 100.
In ECC6, the costing run for Material A, plant B pulls 99
Anyone that can push me in the right direction?

    Hi,
Based on the info provided thus far, the result that you notice in ECC 6.0 is right as it is picking the current standard price based on your setup.
Now why it is picking the future price in 4.6c, well for that you will have to do a detail check as in which variant is being used etc. I would suggest you to work with your CO personnel on this. Do a costing run for this particular material via CK11n using the variant which you mentioned & see the results.
Or if you can upload the screenshots (picasaweb or some other portal) of the valuation variant you're using in 4.6c, along with Acctng view 1 & 2, costing view 1 & 2 details of the material it would help to have a better understanding.

  • Cost estimate wrong after adding accounting/costing view

material 3000232 previously does not have accounting and costing view, now we maintained them, after running ck11n, it shows below error: no itemization exists for material, message number ck219, by drill down, the costing log is saying bom not existed.
but this material is using purchase info record, and procurement type is E in mm03, system should not ask BOM, and our costing variant is cost from purchase info record. may i know why we have such error?

    Hi
Your Prc Type should be F and not E

  • Adding fields in costing view of material master

    Hi gurus,
I need to add 4 fields in costing view of material master. I have followed the steps in SPRO, for configuring customized screen in material master.
    1) Created a function group YMMCO and copied the screen 2904 from program SAPLMGD1.
    2) Added 4 fields in my customized screen.
    3) Created copy of 01 ( Screen reference ) to z1 in OMT3B.
Since 2904 is not there in the sequence . I changed one 0001 sequence at the end to 2904 . I also assigned my program
SAPLYMMCO to it. I can see the changed fields in data screen and subscreen.
    4) Then I assigned the SSq to z1 in transaction OMT3E.
But unfortunately, when I go to MM01 to create a material , I am not able to view the fields I added in costing view.
I have checked the screen for the previous field, it shows 2904 only.
Two days back, I did the same thing in basic data view 1 , it was working properly. As per client's suggestion I put it in
costing view, it is not working . Please give me suitable suggestions.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I have appended structure with custom fields to MARA table.
But the values I enter in the screen is not getting updated to the table MARA.
Can you please let me know the code, I should have have in PAI (Process After Input) module in the Sub Screen to update the values?
    Thanks,

  • How to find the Names of Most costly Views or Most Time consuming views

    Hi All,
I had a database consisting of almost 200 views,as a part of Optimization process i want to find out the most costlier views. How to do that.Actually i want the names of the VIEWS,so that i can optimize that. Can any one help me out?
I had one more doubt in our Database a view is created like view A( which is created by joining several tables).so do i need to add index on this view separately or does it take the index of the tables which i joined? And in our Database i  had created
a VIEW which is derived from other views(the Joining objects are views not tables),so while i select recoreds from this views which is derived from other views it is taking a lot of time.Is tehre any problem with that?

  • How to view the cost of all articles at all sites in SAP using a report?

    So, here is the ask:
I want to view the cost (could be either Std Cost or Moving Avg Price, based on price control) for all articles (materials) in all the sites (plants) in SAP. This can be a very huge number for retail clients, resulting in millions of records.
I know that MBEW stores this information for an article site level (when site is maintained as val. area), but we need a report to handle huge volumes. Is there a standard report out there, which may leverage info structures to give this information.
    Please help!

    Hi
For standard LIS, see Note 491519 - Standard analyses - Transaction codes and reports.
I don't know any standard report for your requirement. Actually, I created some reports using MBEW and MBEWH tables. For understanding how MBEWH behaves, please, see SAP Note 193554 - Stock/valuation data of previous periods.
    I hope this helps you

  • Not Getting Costing View in Material master

    Dear All
In OMS2 i have selected Costing View for Raw Material type. But Still i am not getting Costing1 and Costing2  View while creating material master for Raw material Type.
    Kindly Suggest Me.
    Thanks
    Shobana

    hi,
    Normally this shd not happen...
but let me know whether you are creating a new material type or making changes in the old one ROH only...
If we see the std sap provided ROH settings in OMS2, then Costing shd be already provided..and if you are making the new material type, use the sref as ROH and then also, the costing will come automatically...

  • Costing views in Master data

    Hi Guys,
    i need your suggestion.
my customer opened erroneosuly the costing views for several materials. i know that the views cannot be eliminated so if i flag the "do not cost" the material won't be taken in count during cost estimation right?
    thanks
    C.

    Hi,
If you select the don't cost check box, that material won't take for material cost estimate.

  • Accounting & costing view in the material master

    hi
my client wanted to block the accounting & costing view in the material master for the end users
    what i need to do

    Hi,
You can (Authorization material master by views of accounting & costing ) achieve this by way of authorization control. In transaction PFCG, select your role for creating / changing the material master. Select option Maintenance statuses. Then at change status option select views that you want to give the authorization to the users. Create profile & save the role. Now assign the role to the users. They will get only those views you have selected. You have to select those views in all the roles related to material master (create, change, display).Better Consult Basis Consultant,

  • Material Type without Costing View(non valuated) in Billing Document

We currently have a situation where we have Displays ( non valuated- no costing view material type) being added to regular Sales Orders
In our model, we are also updating product cost on materials when the 1) they were subs or finished goods and 2) via certain billing types.
Unfortunately, the other non valuated display material type is being called when the billing is occuring and is causing an error  . See KE4j and KE4c in CO-PA config as a reference
My question- is there a way to further exclude a material type from being costed in PA when it is included in the billing
    Thank you
    Jeffrey Webber

Costing value zero can happen due to multiple reasons.  Here are some of the things to be considered.
Did you check master data of material C to see if there are any costs for material C?
What are the valuation strategy for material valuation set up in the valuation variant?  Is there any strategy that included price from purchase info record?
Is info record set up for material C in the new system that you are testing?
Did you check activity quantities in routing and activity rates set up in cost center for the period you are running standard costs?
Did you check the formula in the work center costing tab?
    Thanks,
    Ram

  • Special Procurement costing

    Hello Group
We have a situation here where our planning team wants to put X as procurement type and also wants to keep special procurement type as 12.(Which is procuring from specific plant)
Now situation is when we are doing costing system is exploding BOM for plant with 12 special procurment type. I want system to explod BOM for this plant and not of procured from plant.
We also have cross company code costing active. Do you think by deactivating it will help. Also for profit center valuation and group valuation cross company code was activated long back I am not sure what was a reason to activate those two and not legal valuation.
    1. How to make sure production BOM expode rather than procured from plant's BOM
    2. If we want to remove cross company code costing for profit center valuation and group valuation what are the consequences.
    Thanks,
    Santosh Malisetti.

How to make sure production BOM expode rather than procured from plant's BOM?
Have you looked at the Quantity structure data on Costing 1?
We use it when MAterials are procured from a warehouse plant, but we want to cost from the manufacturing plant.
Entries on the Costing 1 tab will take priority over MRP2

  • Material master -costing view 1 & 2

    Hi
Some users could not able to view the costing 1 & 2 screens in material master
    Thanks
    Madhav

    Hi,
That is either because the views have not been created for those materials (Use MM01 to create them for the existing materials) or the views have not been "switched on" in config for the material type being used.
