Special Using
I'm going to apply APEX in our small company (about 150 users) for the special purpose such as below:
1- Project management system
2- Workflow management sytem
3- Knowledge management and document sharing.
I know that MS-Shrepoint has these features. But my issues are:
1- Whereas There are three oracle developer people who have more than 5 years exprience with oracle forms and reports 6i there is no experience with sharepoint or .Net platform in our company.
2- MS-Sharepoint is too complex and expensinve for our needs.
please let me know if APEX is suitable for the purpose.
MG,
APEX can pretty much do what you need it to do but it is not a magic bullet. If you don't have solid business requirements for your project with a data model that validates those requirements, it doesn't matter what tool set you choose.
I personally in your situation would leverage your existing Oracle experience versus spending money on another tool set and platform.

Yeah.... only thing in the list that might possibly work is the handsfree kit. As roaminggnome stated, pairing to other phones is not supported.
When trying to pair to the handsfree device, was the device actually in discoverable mode? -

I'm tying to invent a scene where an explosion happens along with the actions of pixel-poly giving the impression that an object (in this case a name) has exploded. So far no problems... plenty of help on google etc.
But now I want to get the same effect but instead of Pixel-polys` particles raining down around... I'd like to have other things rain down.
flowers, feathers etc etc without having to set keyframes for a million tiny objects.
When I first got the notion it was a bit less of a job....I had my friend pixel-poly/explosion announcing a `hat party' for a customer and her friends. So along with the pixel explosion I arranged three tiny colorful hats to emerge out of the explosion twisting and fluttering and growing to normal size as they fluttered to the ground. I did it with keyframes and it was a something of apain even for just three objects. Not to mention it looked pretty hokey as I am just a rank beginners.
However my client had a forgiving nature and it was well received.
So I'd like to grow on that skit and have the bits from the explosion actually be something recognizable like flowers, but to have Pixel-poly or something similar still in control of how the `particles' (flowers, hats .. whatever) rain out and down, rather than yours truly having to set thousands of keyframes.. As if I even could on that kind of scale. Rather than even try, I'd sooner make the sort of settings one does with Pixel-Poly
I put a small bit of a skit up for anyone who wants to see Poly in action so as to know what I'm talking about here.
It's just Poly and an explosion no addtions, and a few other graphics from pictures That I just left there rahter than break out the tools and cut the thing down.(its still very short) but you can see how Poly does and maybe see what I mean about some way or other making some kind of familiar objects instead of particles.
I'm not sure Miss Poly can be bent to the task but maybe there are other effects alreaty available that do what I described.
Or maybe someone has an idea how to control a mass of small objects in some way besides key framing.

( it seems to load slowly although only a *.f4v at 2.7mb, but I think its a bandwidth problem... the server is not near a back bone)As Rick and Mathias already mentioned, you need to expand your arsenal and look at particle systems and shape repeaters - both the ones that come with AE and ones that you can buy. Particular may be a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny. if you still don't want to spend money, learning to create layer maps for Card Dance (and in teh same vein for good ol' Particle Playground) is a place to start. additionalyl, look at Foam and CC particle World and their ability to reference otehr layers as sprite textures for custom particle shapes...

Crystal report printing using epson dot matrix printer (continouos paper)
Hi there, im tiff from the philippines.
i have a question on printing using a crystal report. How do i print using epson continuous printer(dot matrix)? im having a problem printing to that type of printer specially using continuous paper. the first page is correct but unfortunately the succeeding pages are not. its automatically adjusted upon reaching the second page. hope you can help me.
thanks a lot and looking forward to hear from you soon.
tiffCheck with the printer manufacturer that the matrix printer is Unicode compliant. If it is not, it will not work with Crystal Reports. If it is, make sure you have the latest printer driver updates.

First 'impression' of Safari 3.0 Beta in the first 5 minuites of use.
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium and just downloaded Safari 3.0 for Windows Public Beta (Not included Quicktime)
The installation is processed smoothly.
I used it 5 minuites and my first impression is nothing but BUGs BUGs BUGs.
Alway Crash:
1. When click anything concerning Bookmarks, Safari crashes. (In other word, cannot use Bookmarks.)
2. When fill in any form, Safari crashes.
3. When access any pages with Javascript, Safari crashes.
Sometime Crash:
1. When access some pages, Safari randomly crashes. Ordinary pages such as this website itself. The symtom is both CPU core work reach 100% and needed to restart computer.
2. Randomly show message like "file not found, need reinstall." in any page, of course, even this page.
Bugs:
1. Cannot click on the button on the taskbar to minimize.
2. When minimize and restore, the Safari window going in restore down state.
3. Memory leak as I monitering RAM usage: increases more than 100MB when open Safari.
4. Font smoothing shows almost illegible.
Let down function:
1. Safari 3.0 for Windows Public Beta is the slowest web browser among all of browsers in my notebook. (IE7, Firefox, Opera, Cameleon Browser.)
STOP! saying "This is just a BETA!".
I love to test beta software and report bugs. I'm not a techical geeks so my testing method is to use them just as I always use in everyday life. No tweak or special use I squeesh to the program. I understand the BETA is not FINAL and of course, have more bugs than FINAL.
But this is not what I call bugs. I call "cannot be used."
How can you guy call this "PUBLIC" Beta? Have your programmer even see it in action in Windows before release to public?
This application is the second Apple application I experienced. (The first is iTunes.) It totally let me down because when compare with Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 I tested last year, Safari 3.0 Public Beta is not in my sight.
How can you apply guy convince me that Apple is better than Microsoft since I compare just an essential small program and found no pros, even both are in beta state?
Hope to see Beta 2 with no major crash in the first 5 minuites usage.

Should InDesign be used for an academic journal?
Hi,
As an editor, I have been looking into the possibility of using InDesign as a layout program for an academic journal at our university. We currently use Word. I was wondering what the experts think of using InDesign for this function, in light of the nature of our journal. It is a 150-250 page volume put out twice a year. Besides the cover (which does not change), there are no graphics or images used, nor is there any special use of text or borders. It is simply a chaptered book with each chapter containing a new article, using only single column text, footnotes, and headers.
As I work through the tutorials, I am getting the idea that InDesign may not be that useful for our purposes because we are doing fairly basic word processing. What do others think of this? Is it unnecessary? What would be the advantages to using InDesign for production of a text-only book such as ours?
Thanks very much for any input you could provide! With a little practice, you can format long runs of text in ID at an astounding rate. Just this week, I formatted a book of 58 chapters, no images (well, only two), and the odd heading and sub-heading here and there. It took me 22 hours for 650 pages. Halfway, I had to revisit the chapters I already had done to do a few last-minute changes, so for the next volume I think it'll take, oh, 16 hours maybe.
(My two main speed-tricks are:
1. Use templates. Each of the chapters of that big book was a separate file, tacked together using the Book function. For a journal consisting of articles of about 20 pages each, you might want to do that as well. Always keep your templates clean and up-to-date -- if you change a global text style, use the Synchronize Book option to update all files, but don't forget to update the template as well.
2. Set hotkeys for all major paragraph and character styles. Don't bother about this for low-frequency stuff like chapter titles, as there are precious few 'comfortable' shortcut combo's. Assign them to body text, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level headings, indenting quotes; in other words, all stuff that comprised about 90% of your typical body text.
I've been using the same style hierarchy and names for years now (something over a decade), and I can apply the top 10 at a stroke of my fingertips; others get the Quick Apply treatment. No mouseing around required.) -
IMAP MOVE command not being used? (server supports it)
I created an IMAP log, to see whether TB was using the IMAP "MOVE" extension. Despite the fact that my IMAP server does appear to support it, I can't see any MOVE commands in my protocol log. The only times the string "MOVE" appears in log is the CAPABILITY response from the server. FWIW, here is the capability string:
[CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE SORT SORT=DISPLAY THREAD=REFERENCES THREAD=REFS THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT MULTIAPPEND URL-PARTIAL CATENATE UNSELECT CHILDREN NAMESPACE UIDPLUS LIST-EXTENDED I18NLEVEL=1 CONDSTORE QRESYNC ESEARCH ESORT SEARCHRES WITHIN CONTEXT=SEARCH LIST-STATUS SPECIAL-USE BINARY MOVE NAMESPACE QUOTA]
Note that I moved a message BETWEEN mailboxes, if that makes a difference. (if it only works intra-mailbox, then I can't make use of it)
What exactly should I see in my protocol log, if TB is using the MOVE command?
Environmemt: TB 31.0, Windows 8.1-64, Dovecot IMAP serverThanks, but before I do that, I don't mind asking for help elsewhere, perhaps on the Dovecot list or something. I notice that an INTRA-mailbox move does go significantly faster, and I see a "moved messages" status message down the bottom, too. (haven't checked the log yet, but I strongly suspect it is using the IMAP MOVE extension for this operation)
Postbox behaves the same as Thunderbird - inter-mailbox moves are very slow - it is obvious that it is manually moving the messages. (and likewise, intra-mb moves are rapid)
I kind of suspect that it's just not going to work between mailboxes, despite what the RFC says. If I find out anything, or file a bug report, I will indeed report back. -
Using Sonata Font in Illustrator on IBookG4
I'm using Sonata Font in Illustrator on an IBookG4 laptop and I'm suddenly NOT able to get all of the music notation that I can on a desktop.
For example, each character on the keyboard corresponds to each musical notation; then there is the shift + character to get more musical notation; and also option + character to get the rest of the musical notation.
I can not use option + character to get the last of the musical notation that I need.
Is it the laptop keyboard or Illustrator?
Please adviseThere may be some kind of font conflict; the use of a font utility or other
tool may be warranted. This specialized use of software appears to have
limited your hoped-for replies in solving the immediate problem.
In other instances, where some keyboard combinations don't work on a
portable Apple computer (whether or not they did work, then failed, is
another matter) there is an Apple support document which suggests
the use of an external keyboard will do more than the built-in one can.
The following link may not apply to your situation, or model:
[ Apple Portables: Some Key Combinations May Not Be Recognized... ]
I'm wondering if there isn't something simple, other than managing fonts,
that could help this issue go away. I suppose you've tried routine system
maintenance such as repair disk permissions and other duties; and if
the hardware is suspect, ran the Apple Hardware Test to see if there is
another indication of a keyboard failure..? Since you say it was sudden,
I wonder if the built-in keyboard is the problem. Best of luck...! -
1) Export projects to disk using preset or preferred QT compression format?
i don't understand this i'M A VIDEOGRAPHER NOT AN EDITER BUT THANX
i don't understand this i'M A VIDEOGRAPHER NOT AN EDITER
It means that once you finish working on your project in iMovie '08, you will have to export it in order to use it. Exports are normally targeted for a specific use. I believe all presets are in H.264/AAC. However, you have the option of exporting your project using QuickTime which means you can perform custom exports for your own special use. -
I have Adobe Reader X 10.0.0, PDF Version 1.4 (Acrobat 5.x). I have been saving PDF's for years, and each time I save, it goes to the last folder I saved to? The other day, I had approximately 15 PDF's that had been scanned to me, and after I had saved 5 of these documents normally, it then started going straight to a temporary folder, and has done ever since, which means I have to go through all the folders to get the one I desire? I have spoken to our I.T. department and they believe its a problem with PDF and not with our system, and I believe otherwise. I can use Recent Places, but when you have done the same thing for years, and the amount I do, change is not always good
Has anyone encountered the same problem, and can help?Hi Kat,
This is a bit geeky, but the signature appearance that you see on the page is not the signature, but just a graphical representation of the actual signature. The actual signature is a blob of hex encoded data in the PDF file that you don't really see. That aside...
When you create a digital signature the first thing Acrobat/Reader will ask you to do is select a digital ID to sign with. Acrobat then reads the digital ID and amasses some information to use to create the signature appearance. It then fills in the form field (a signature field is just a special use form field) with the appearance, BUT the signature still hasn't been created. The next thing Acrobat does is asks you to Save the file to disk. This is more geekiness, but it much safer to compute the signature byte range on disk then it is in memory. The simple explanation is it's harder for the bad guys to manipulate the bytes on disk then it is for them to control the bytes in memory and because a digital signature provides document security we err on the safe side and require the file to be written to disk before the signature is created. The other safety item is, we want to sign the signature appearance so that someone can't come along later and modify the appearance without breaking the signature, so it (the appearance) has to be created before the signature proper is created.
So at this point you've seen the signature appearance and thought that the signature has been created, but it hasn't. When you try to save to the network folder something is preventing Acrobat from saving the file and what ends up happening is the file is rolled back to the pre-signature state and the signature appearance is removed. The file is in essence untouched.
All of that aside (which is probably more than you really wanted to know) the real question is why can't the file be saved to the network folder. This isn't really a digital signature issue, but rather a network permissions issue.

Forms 10g installed and running on Windows Vista
<font color=0000FF>Update 12-Dec-2008: </font>Oracle has published NOTE 559067.1 -- How to Install Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 - hence 10.1.2.3 - on Windows Vista, 24-OCT-2008 with some installation help.
<font color=0000FF>Update 07-July-2008: </font> Added text at the bottom showing how to find patchsets for Forms 10g.
<font color=0000FF>Update 29-May-2008: </font> This thread was started in November, 2007. In January, 2008, Oracle released Patch 3 for Forms 10g, which makes Forms 10g compatible with Windows Vista. As time permits I'll try to keep the information in this post up to date. Updated information will be inserted <font color=0000FF>as blue text.
</font>
<font color=0000FF>Original message begins here:</font>
This is a second thread I am posting to outline the steps I have used to install Forms on a Windows Vista Home Basic laptop. The other thread describes installing Forms 6i:
Forms 6i installed and running on Windows Vista
Please read through the initial part of that post for the background. I realize Oracle has not certified Forms 10g to run on Vista, but the time has come for my associates and I to upgrade our old computers to new desktop/laptop platforms, and I would hate to acquire XP machines and be stuck with them for the next 5 years. <font color=0000FF>(Note: Since first posting this message, Oracle has certified Forms 10g Patch 3 (version 10.1.2.3.0) to run on Vista)</font> So after another person informed me that he had Forms installed and running on Vista, I went ahead and bought one. I found that as long as I set the compatibility mode to run Forms programs as Windows XP (and a few other changes), Forms 6i and 10g run quite satisfactorily.
<font color=0000FF>Update 29-Jan-2008: </font> Unfortunately, it turns out that the Forms 10g Builder running on Vista <font color=0000FF>had</font> a major flaw: If you try to develop a form, the Builder will crash if you try to compile a procedure that calls another procedure in the form that has errors. The problem is reported and described in this thread: Error compiling a form under Vista
<font color=0000FF>Update 12-Mar-2008: </font> Installing Patch 3 on Vista does not help with this problem -- the Builder still crashes in the same situation.
<font color=0000FF>Update 25-July-2008: </font> Applying Patch 7047034 has corrected the problem. See this link within this thread: Forms 10g: Installing Patch 7047034 on Windows Vista
Webutil note: I am stuck in a Forms 6i client/server world, so all my forms must run in that environment. Therefore I have not used any Webutil software, and I do not know whether that part will run under Vista.
Internet Explorer note: On Windows Vista, IE CANNOT be used to run the Web Forms runtime. It crashes immediately when you try to run a form. Instead, I can use either Firefox (Firefox 2, Firefox 3.0 Crashes with Forms 10g) or Netscape, as long as they are set to disable java. <font color=0000FF>[ Correction: IE7 on Vista now runs the Forms 10g forms. You just need to add "?config=jpi" to the browser URL when starting the Web Forms session. The steps below are those I followed to install Forms 10g (version 10.1.2.0.2)
I. Preliminary system changes in Windows
When I started installing, I got the following error message: Install has encountered an error while
attempting to verify your virtual memory settings.
Please verify that the sum of the initial sizes of
the paging files is at least 256 MB.To fix this: Go to Control Panel, System and Maintenance, View amount of RAM and processor speed (under "System"),
Advanced system settings (in left "Tasks" column), Advanced tab, Settings (under "performance"), Advanced tab:
Virtual Memory shows a "Total paging file size for all drives: 2337MB.
Click "change", Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives"
Click "custom size:", set Initial size to: 2048, Max to 4096
Click set button, then OK, get message:The changes you have made require you to restart your computer before
they can take effect.Restart the computer.
II. Installing Forms 10g
1. Download two files from Oracle:
ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
2a. Before extracting, it is a good idea to shut down any virus protection software. It can sometimes prevent some files from being created.
2b. Extract both into the C:\oracle directory, as disk1 and disk2.
3. Using Windows Explorer, change the properties of setup.exe in the C:\oracle\disk1 folder. (In windows explorer, right click, properties, Compatibility tab.) Change the compatibility to run as Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
4. Right click setup.exe and click "Run as administrator"
5. Select "Installation type" = Complete (1.11 GB)
6. Received this message:Windows Firewall has blocked this program from
accepting incoming network connections. If you
unblock this program, it will be unblocked on all
public networks that you connect to.
C:\users\steve\appdata\local\temp\orainstall...
2007-10-29_11-59-08am\jre\1.4.2\bin\javaw.exeI clicked "Unblock"
7. Received this message: "Provide outgoing mail server information" I entered the smtp mail server that I use.
8. A summary screen displayed showing 274 products under New Installations.
I clicked the Install button.
9. Received this message: You can find a log of this install session at:
C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\installActions2007.....log
10. The installation completed. Installed products shows Forms 10.1.2.0.2
III. After the install completed
1. Create a shortcut to the Forms 10 Builder on the Desktop.
On the shortcut line, after the .exe, add *userid=userxxx/pwxxx@orcl* so Builder automatically logs into 10g database. If you do step 4 below (creating an easily-accessible folder to use for your forms) change the "Start in" path on the shortcut so it points to that folder. Otherwise, Forms Builder will not find referenced objects and PLL libraries when it opens a form. Also do the same on the Start, All Programs shortcut for the Forms Builder.
Edit: After applying Patch 3, the following steps are not necessary.
Set its compatibility to Windows XP.
Set checkbox: "Run this program as as an administrator." (Without this, FormBuilder will NOT open a PLL library.)
Click the "Show settings for all users" and change values there.
2. Copy "Start OC4J Instance" icon to desktop.
Set its compatibility to Windows XP.
The first time it runs, I got a Windows popup to unblock program named Java. I clicked "Unblock".
3. tnsnames.ora:
Rename C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
to: tnsnames_orig.ora
If you created a tnsnames.ora file for Forms 6i, just copy it to the path above. If not, do this:
Create a new tnsnames.ora file, copying entries old file on my old laptop, which contains all the connections I use.
Delete the old laptop entry, replace with new entry for the new local ORCL connection on new laptop from tnsnames file renamed from the c:\oracle\... ...\10.2.0\db_1\ path.
4. Optional: Create an easily accessible folder to store fmb files:
C:\users\steve\.1\fmb10
You don't really want to keep drilling into C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\forms, and then find your .fmb file among the several dozen oracle-supplied files.
To create a folder named .1, you have to open a CMD.exe (Windows DOS) window, and type the Make Directory command:
MD .1
That will create the folder within the current directory -- mine defaults to C:\users\steve
Note: If you also need to use Forms 6i like me, DO NOT EVER open a .fmb file in the Forms 10 Builder from the Forms 6i folder. If you compile it, or even worse, save the .fmb, Forms 6i *cannot ever* access the file. Instead, always use the File Manager (Windows Explorer) to copy the fmb from the fmb6 folder into the fmb10 location.
5. Change the Forms 10g Default.env file using a text editor.
This file replaces all the settings originally written to the Windows Registry (GREAT idea, Oracle! I hate the registry.) No more Regedit. The default.env file is located at: (DevSuiteHome_1 path)\forms\server\default.env
Locate line with: FORMS_PATH= and add:
;C:\users\steve\.1\fmb10
Add a new line:
FORMS_MMAP=FALSE
The above allows compiling an fmx while the form is running.
Add a new line:
FORMS_ROWLOCK_OPTIMIZATION=FALSE
(This fixes Oracle bug number 3949854, which prevents automatic skipping if the same value is typed over another value. TAR 4806199.993 Automatic Skip failure...) See bug 4068896
Add a new Line:
FORMS_RESTRICT_ENTER_QUERY=False
This allows use of Query-Where window in enter query, after entering a colon in any input field. Without this, Forms returns FRM-40367: Invalid criteria in field nnn in example record. Oracle shut it down to prevent "sql injection" attacks.
6. Jiniator setup:
Run file jinit.exe in C:\oracle\DevSuiteHime_1\jinit\jinit.exe
It installs Jinitiator 1.3.1.22.
I installed it in C:\oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.22\
For Firefox, make sure a copy of file \bin\NPJinit13122.dll resides in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins.
For Netscape, the path is: C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator 9\plugins
7. Browser settings
See the note above about using Firefox 2 and not Firefox 3!
In Firefox 2 go to: Tools-> Options-> Content
Uncheck the "Enable Java" checkbox
--Firefox terminates if this is not done!
Note: After my system automatically installed updates to either java or Firefox, re-check the "Enable Java" setting. I am suspicious that one of these installs re-enables java in the browser.
Also note: some web sites cannot display properly if java is disabled. Example: U.S. time website: http://www.time.gov Use Internet Explorer to view these.
In Netscape make the same changes as Firefox. Without disabling java, it also terminates when you try to run a form.
Creating a url to use in the browser:
Try this:
http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet
If it does not work, change the 8889 port number as follows:
Open file: C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\install\portlist.ini
Note the number in line:
Oracle Developer Suite HTTP port = 8889
Use the number as the port number.
You can also change the 127.0.0.1 to the computer name:
Control Panel, System and Maintenance, See the name of this computer (under "System"). Mine is "steve-PC"
So the alternate URL is: http://steve-PC:8889/forms/frmservlet
To try out the URL, start the OC4J instance set up above. Then start either Netscape or Firefox, and enter the URL. You should get a welcome screen.
If the above URL works, start up the Forms Builder, and open Edit, Preferences. On the General tab, uncheck the "Build before running" check box (optional). On the Runtime tab, set the "Application Server URL to the url above.
To run a real form, add this to the URL after frmservlet, (with no spaces):
?form={formname}&userid={userxxx}/{passwordyyy}@{connect-string}
but replace the parts in curly braces with the appropriate values. Example:
http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet?form=ABC&userid=abc123/zyx@orcl
Setting up Forms Builder to directly run a form in the browser:
Run the Forms Builder. Go to Edit, Preferences, Runtime tab.
Set the Application Server URL to:
http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet
(or use whatever URL string you developed above)
Set the Web Browser Location to:
"C:\Program Files\Netscape\Navigator 9\navigator.exe"
(or an equivalent to run the Firefox browser).
8. FORMSWEB.CFG file changes
The file is located at:
C:\ORA_DS_101202\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\server\formsweb.cfg
I changed the following two lines in the file, but these are my personal preferences:
separateFrame=true
lookandfeel=Generic
9. FMRWEB.RES file changes
For Oracle help: Enabling Key Mappings
The file fmrweb.res defines actions (triggers that run) when a function key is pressed while running Forms. The one released has unix-style key mapping, but I prefer keys originally mapped for Windows PC Forms users. There is a fmrpcweb.res in the same folder that can be renamed to fmrweb.res.
In the C:\oracle\DevSuiteHome_1\forms path, I renamed fmrweb.res to fmrweb_orig.res.
I have a file that I prefer to use, so I put it into the folder as fmrweb.res. The contents are listed below. It is organized so the most important keys are listed alphabetically at the top (URFD column is the sort column), followed by a group of less-important keys. These are keys that are available to users, but they either would not use, or are disabled within most forms. The URFD column in the second set starts with a hex A0 character, which is a high-order space, so collates after normal alphabetic characters. (Note: If you want to copy the text below and use it, the hex A0 character has been changed by the forum software to a space. So you would need to use a text editor with hexadecimal character capabilities to replace the space with the original character. )
My file has special keys defined for F2 (I use it for a debugging Key-F2 trigger in my forms), and a "Cursor to Home" F12 function. All the rest are pretty much the same as in the released fmrpcweb.res file, only mine are organized alphabetically on the URFD column.
The Web Forms fmrweb.res file is editable using any programming editor (NOT MS Word!!!). The old Client/Server key mapping file, fmrusw.res, could only be changed using the Oracle Terminal program (and it is a pain to use).
Here is the main part of my fmrweb.res file:#

Edited 2008-12-12 to add a link to Oracle Note 559067.1 and added the fmrweb.res file listing.
Edited 2008-10-28 to change text format to work better within new forum format
Edited 2008-7-7 to add patchset search information.
Edited 2008-4-21 to modify information.
Edited 2008-3-6 to add information.
Edited 2008-5-29 to update information.I followed your instructions and installed Developer Suite 10G on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have Oracle 11G DB running on the same machine.
Two points, Steve:
1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.
2. After installing JInitiator and disabling Java on Firefox I called the http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet page and everything seemed to be OK because the Oracle Forms Services logo appeared and then a successful installation message appeared , but as I clicked (ok) to continue a gray screen appeared inside the browser (like the one displayed when you try to run a Java applet inside a browser) and then I wait to death till something appears but sadly nothing. I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?

SSL VPN - Bypass DefaultWEBVPNGroup
Hi All,
I'm using the default tunnel-group and group-policy for my general user community. I want to apply a filter for that group, and have a special use case for another group that bypasses the filter. My goal: for people hitting the "RAS_Engineering" group policy, I want to bypass the filter applied to "DfltGrpPolicy"
Is there a way for me to configure the group-policy so that it doesn't pick up the default settings? Here's what I have (some output omitted to reduce lines):

By default you will inherit any implicit values from the default group policy.
To stop inheriting the "vpn-filter" please do:
group-policy RAS_Engineering attributes
vpn-filter none
The same applies for any other feature within the group-policy, make sure you explicitly define every parameter according to the specific requirements.
Thanks.

New iMac or new Mac Mini... and iPhoto Library separate drive?
I have a 2007 iMac Intel Core Duo 2.4Ghz (4 meg RAM) with a hard drive in need of repair, according to Disk Utility (and repeated by DriveGenius 3.) The Repair option is not available. I have had occasional difficulty with this particular Mac, and this is actually my second hard drive, and it is out of warranty. I had already planned to replace this computer later this year.
In attempting to download and install Lion OS, the install failed, and the computer became essentially inoperable. I was able to use Time Machine to get it back running, but cannot repair what is surely a damaged HD. Apple Support came to the same conclusion.
I have become interested in a few goals: (1) To purchase a Mac Mini along with an Apple Thunderbolt monitor (when available) in order to separate my CPU from my monitor. (2) I want to separate my media files from a CPU hard drive for safety, for the very problem I am experiencing now. (3) I want to make my iPhoto library and iMovie library available to my wife – perhaps on an external dedicated drive - for her newer iMac, to various iPhones and iPads, and to two Apple TV units.
We have a home network with an Airport Extreme, and several Ethernet outlets. Both iMac’s currently use Western Digital external drives for Time Machine backups. I have another external Seagate drove solely for my iMovie files. I just purchased a Time Capsule 2TB (but have not yet opened) with the idea that this would be where the “shared” iPhoto library resides.
My questions –
Would you recommend using a Mac Mini + monitor, or go with a new iMac (my current iMac is my third and the only one that has given me some problems.) I do not have any specialized use of my computer beyond the common iLife applications.
I want my photos and videos to be easily available to my family on their Apple devices (I’m the only one with the significant family photo library) and I haven’t quite devised a plan to accomplish that. Can you make suggestions?
Thanks for any assistance you can offer.Currently the Library is on EHD 1 and you want to copy it to EHD2?
Connect them both to the iMac. Make sure EHD2 formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and drag the iPhoto Library from EHD 1 to EHD 2
To open either Library with iPhoto 11: Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
It will update the Library to the new formats. Remember once you do this the older versions of iPhoto will no longer be able to read it.

I spent all night trying to fix this. It seems to me that someone has been trying to hack into my system with all of the random codes/lines in my terminal and i have all of his foreign IP addresses. And now i get this strange message that popped up in my terminal. Idk what it entirely means? I would very appreciate if someone could just walk me through this. Thank you very much.
First time poster. I have Macbook Pro. OSX. Just downloaded the new mavericks. I'm i have my firewall on. I stay secure. I run Netbarrier, Virusbarrier, IdentityScrubber.
I know something is a little odd or just doesn't make since about my activity monitor. Then my WiFi was hacked last night and this person was writing tons lines of commands/codes that i found in my terminal and my activity monitor doesn't look normal, and I've only been a mac owner for about a year now and i'm learning more and more but while trying to figure out what was going on this message popped up which concerned me the most. Any help would be most appreciated, thanks guys. I have my terminal full of his foreign ip addresses i noticed, and a lot of other commands and lines he wrote out that i definitely did not type myself. Can anyone give me a hand on this? Thanks
