Specific size for Rounded Rectangle tool

Is there a way to specify dimensions for the Rounded Rectangle tool like there is for the Rectangular Marquee tool?  I love to draw my boxes with radii already on them (saves time), but I'm forever going too fast and either stopping short or going past the size that I want.  If I could punch in the numbers I want, then I know it would be right -- and hopefully faster.

Sweet!
It's funny how you can use something pretty much everyday and still not realize that there are short cuts.  This will save soo much time.
Many thanks

Where is the rounded rectangle tool in PS6? Please be specific. AlI see is the rectangle tool and not the rounded one.

Grouped in the same slot as the other shape tools.
Click and hold on the shape icon in the toolbox to reveal the hidden tools.
The little black arrow beside most of the icons in the toolbox means there are hidden tools grouped in the same slot.

  • Rounded Rectangle Tool - how to set default corners?

This has been bugging me for ages, time to get an answer!
How can you set the rounded corners to a default value? I know that while manually creating a mask, using the arrow keys I can increase/decrease the size of the corners. I was hoping that this last setting would be remembered so, with a layer selected, I could double-click on the Rounded Rectangle Tool and it creates a mask with rounded corners at the last setting.
    Doesn't happen. Any ideas?
Also, while I have your ear, how do I hide a mask in the Layer Viewer in CS6? I'm sure there was an icon for it in previous verions and neither the Hide Edges keyboard shortcuts or the mask button in the Composition window has any effect.

Cheers Mylenium. I seem to remember in past versions of AE we got a little button in the Layers window the same as in the Composition window that toggles the mask edges (not the mask) on and off:
I just want to hide the mask edges regardless of the popup selection. Think I'm going bonkers as I'm sure it used to be there and I can't be the only one that found it useful!!

  • Rounded Rectangle Tool: Only creates outlines

Desired solution:  a rounded rectangle filled with color #00628b, 40px high, 200px long.
Situation:  The rounded rectangle tool produces an outline in the my foreground color.  I have been unable to make this tool create a rounded rectangle that is the color I listed above.

Pick the right tool in the options bar. (Ignore the pen – the choice is the same for the rounded rectangle.)

  • Rounded Rectangle Tool

I am a beginner photo shop user and while watching some youtube tutorials the people giving the tutorial has the option to choose a rounded rectangle. How can I add the Rounded Rectangular tool to my tool bar?
My current tool bar options for the "Marquee Tools" are: Rectangular, Elliptical, Single row, and Single column.

    Hi,
The video is probably referring to the Rounded Rectangle Tool that is part of the shape tools group in the tool box.
In the tool box if you press and hold on the shape tool icon, you should see a flyout menu where you can select the Rounded Rectangle Tool.

  • Set specific size for JTextfield/Jbutton in BorderLayout?

can some one tell me how to set a specific size for JTextfield/JButton in Border/BoxLayout please?
I stried setSize, setPrefersize, setMAxsize, setMinsize, setBounds... but it won't work?
For example. If I add a jbutton to a jpanel, which has borderlayout, it will take up ALL the space in that jpanel.
    Thanks

Typically you use a BorderLayout for the high level layout and then add panels using other layouts to the BorderLayout. So for example on a simple dialog that is using a form that asks your for your first name and last name you would build a panel with those fields and add that panel to the center of the BorderLayout. Then you would create another panel for the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons which would typically use a FlowLayout. Then you add that panel to the South of the BorderLayout.
The Swing tutorial on [url http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/layout/visual.html]How to Use LayoutManagers has all the information you need to know on using layout managers.

  • Fix the pathetic rounded-rectangle tool.

Ugh, why do we waste our time?
I made a rounded rectangle with the rounded-rectangle tool.  Then, as often happens, I needed to change the corner radius.  Of course the "help" was useless, so a Web search revealed that YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE RADIUS.
Can I get a WTF here?
Oh, but then I read that there's an alternate way to create a rounded rectangle, which is to draw a regular rectangle and then apply a rounded-rectangle "effect" to it.
Dare I ask the question that should be obvious to even the most computer-illiterate imbecile in the audience:  Why didn't the rounded-rectangle tool do this in the first place?

Anyone being harsh on Corel Draw hasn't compared it to Illustrator.  Illustrator's useless selection mode alone is a deal-breaker: http://www.flickr.com/photos/forensicpics/1800773495/in/set-72157600304785497

  • Rounded rectangle tool size

    Hi
having drawn a rounded rectangle I'm trying to set it to a precise size - do I have to rasterize it first or am I as ususal missing something
    thanks
    Ian

Create guides that define the outer boundaries. Drawing tools snap to guides. foir more precision drawing, use Illustrator. It offers far superior snapping options for this kind of thing (plus the ability to easily numerically modify items).

  • Create a specific size circle or rectangle

How can I create a specific size circle?
I know how to create a circle and then size it using the rulers but isn't there some way to create the circle to a specific size right from the start?

  • Can't find roundness setting for rounded rectangle (CS5)

I know I'm missing something obvious, but I can't seem to find the control to set the roundness value for a rounded rectangle.
Per help, there should be a roundness control in the properties window, but I've been looking for 15 min. and can't seem to find it.
    tia,

Thanks Linda. I was clicking on the yellow dots but somehow avoided sliding them...
And I missed Auto Shape Properties, as opposed to the Auto Shapes window.

  • Rounded Rectangle Tool Corner Radius setting

I'l like to see the Rounded Rectangle Corner Radius setting moved from General Preferences to either the RR Tool option bar, or double click on the RR Tool to access its Corner Radius setting.

Yes. Change from the default % to px in the Properties panel. You can also enter an exact radius in the Autoshape Properties panel if you use the rounded rectangle auto shape instead of a regular rectangle.

  • CS6 Illustrator - missing rounded rectangle tool

I am missing the rounderd rectangle, ellipse, star, etc...tools.  All I have is the rectangle tool. There is not any drop down menu for other shapes.

Ah, you are talking about mr. Matlack's calligraphic work (*). I thought you were referring to some sort of bawdy euphenism
(*) Not, in general, the sort of tidbit I am known to spawn from memory. However, yesterday I saw "National Treasure" on the telly and no matter how ridiculous it is as a story, I find it still an enjoyable after-dinner snack.

  • CS2 Photoshop Rounded Rectangle Tool

In CS2, can a rounded rectangle radius be changed numerically after it has been drawn as a shape layer? You can certainly change the radius and draw a new rectangle with that new radius but can the radius be changed after it was drawn. It's crazy if you can't do this.

    Jim:
You can use guides to demark the first rectangle, and then repeatedly drop new ones (with new corners) in super-fast. I agree it's obnoxious, but with the first rectangle shape selected in the layers palette, guides should snap quickly to it.
