Specification Deletion

Dear Experts,
I wanted to delete the specification but unable to perform the same as this specification has one reports which is in Hi-Historical status which means for this specification there is entry in ESTDH table with one document Key.
i have deleted that document from DMS but still entry from ESTDH is not removed resulting specification is not getting deleted...
In this case, How to delete this specification?
Kindly Advise.

1) CG50, show a report in HI-Historical status. I have tried to Reject it but getting an error - Action 'Reject' is not allowed for reports in status HI
=> CG50/CG54 contains in the background several tables which are related to entry in ESTDH. So you should not "delete" it. BUt if you have the need. use debug and replace and just set the "Del" Flag. But do the same in any depending table !! (and pay attention !)
2) There is entry for this specification in ESTMJ table with document Key.; the content in ESTDH "hinders" from deleting the specificatioN. The same is treu if you have still a link ESTRH <=> ESTMJ: use debeg and replace and set the "del" Flag in ESTMJ (and PAY ATTENTION as your material is now linked to no specification in most cases !")
3) I have gone to DMS, CV02N, set deletion mark for that document and saved;
this step is only a kind of "clean" up activity but can be done (as well I assume in most cases only by using debug and replace)
4) later, ran MCDOKDEL and from there deleted the document permanently
I assume you can ram it if you have executed the steps before
5) Now, again i am checking ESTMJ, still entry is there and because of that, specification is not getting deleted.
=> you must use eizther debug and replace to get rid of ETSMJ entry (just use Del flag) and you should assign the material to different specification
IN any case: this action is "critical". Using debug and replace is the last option you should really use. Any chang elog regarding the specifciaiotn will stay in the system; you might get "mess" (if you do not pay attention) in DG filling, SVT topics etc. etc.etc. If you have a full EHS set up (witg SVT, DG, SDS distrbution etc. etc. ) you should not delete the specification and if so you should be prepared for Audits etc.
Why is the specification "hindering" you? What is the business reason to get rid of it? What about the option to generate a new substance authorization group move the specification in this group. If you use proper access concept nobody would see this specification any more (only support/consultant) I would use this option.

I want to delete a perticular workitem specific to agent .
One workitem (ex: 12345) is in SAP inbox of 2 users say ( User A and User B ). I want to delete from only user A SAP inbox . How i will do the same .
Note : I have tried the transaction SWWL , but this is deleting the whole workitem from both user's inboxes . I have gone through the forum posts also , but i didnt get any solution for this .
Please suggest me if anybody have any idea on the same .

Do you want to achieve this for specific case or programmatically?
1. In specific case, as pointed out by our collegues, you can use admin forward.
2. In programmatic way, Try using FM: SAP_WAPI_RESERVE_WORKITEM with actual agent parameter as B's user ID . This should remove work item from A' Inbox.
Note: But as some one has already pointed out, if B specifically replaces it manually, it will again appear in A's Inbox.

you can reset all your preferences to their defaults by rebuilding both sets of preferences files on the PC.
for instructions on Vista, see the "Remove iTunes Preference files" section from this document:

(in your situation, try moving both sets of preference files out of their default locations before relaunching itunes.)

Restore specific deleted iCal events from time machine

Hi,
I had put some events into iCal on my iPhone in early August. My Calendar syncs with an exchange server. The events were at first in all the calendars that were attached to the exchange account. Now some of these events are gone or updates to the events are gone. I was wondering if I could only restore these missing events from the time machine? I have an iMac 27" from 2012 with a time machine attached to it.

Agreed to a large extent, but I don't have anything in the Modified folder to try.
My albums appear in originals as folders. But as you say, they are the raw imports.
As to the wisdom of the procedure; it worked, and I was slightly surprised it did from within a package, but i accept your overall premise.

deletion?You need to open a stream to read in the file and then use the indexOf method provided in the Sting class to check if the line contains the date or whatever String you are looking for, if so then skip that line and store or re-write the lines you wish to keep, as well as some extra lines you may wish to add.

The above read a file line by line and prints it to console. You should be able to modify this, instead of using System.out to print the line you should use index of to check the lines for a date/String. Index of return -1 if the String you specify is not in the line you parse.

How to delete backup data in icloud to free up storage space?

My iphone 4s has not been backed up in 3 weeks because it says "there is not enough iCloud storage available". Through viewing the data sizes currently backed up in iCloud, the Camera Roll is taking up 99% of the space. I deleted almost everything from the camera roll and photo stream on the actual iphone device, but what do I need to do in order for the storage space to be freed? Is there another place I need to check to delete data (i.e. photos) and regain the storage space available and resume successful backups?

So by selecting "Delete Backup" it will delete everything backed up to iCloud from other apps as well, correct? Is there anywhere I can go to view the actual data being backed up and specifically delete certain data? Without knowing exactly what has been backed up, I'm hesitant to delete everything.

You should probably tell us exactly what you are trying to accomplish. Carolyn's answer is correct as always, but here's a small clarification:
You could, for example, sync and back up one of the iPhones using iTunes on your computer. Then you might take one of the iPhones and do Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Although that action would cleanse all data off that specific iPhone, the data should remain on your iTunes backup and I believe it would remain on the other iPhone.
There is a difference between specifically deleting apps, messages, etc. on an iPhone versus resetting and cleansing an iPhone.

DTP to Open Hub - How to delete failed previous request?

I have instituted the use of an open hub destination to export data to a csv file using a process chain.
Occasionally, the attempt fails and subsequent runs of the process chain also fail because the previous attempt is "red".
Is there any way to specifically delete the failed request from within the process chain?
The error message speaks of setting the "Automatically Repeat Red Requests in Process Chains" indicator, but I have not found it!
I will award points to helpful solutions.

But what I am asking is how to embed this in a process chain so that each time it runs, it first deletes all previous requests. There is such a command for regular DTP's but not for the ones that export to open hub. At least they do not appear in the F4 list when trying to generate this command in the process chain.
Therefore, I am still looking for either the mentioned indicator which can be set for (all) DTP's or for a way to delete all related requests from within a process chain.

DTP Questions: Delete overlapping requests; Repair Full Request

Hello,
I'm new with the DTP concept in BI 7.0.
It is clear to me how DTP is working for normal loads like: full, delta, delta without data transfer etc.
But I don't see where I can specifies "Delete overlapping requests". Is this still possible in a DTP, or is it only possible by creating a Process Chain and insert the process-type "delete overlapping requests" ?
Also I have a question about "Repair Full request" using DTP. Is this option still possible ? Or do I have to create a DTP with extraction-mode = Full => Extraction from Active table. => Is delta than still working ?

This option is available only in Process Chains when u use DTP's.

Full Load was made Repair Full to Initialize if loading an ODS but however you dont need to worry abt the same in Netweaver 7.0 as DTP is taking care of the loading from PSA to DSO.
Initialization can be done after a full load as the load is only till PSA ( At Datasource Level ).
DTP doesnot require any initialization.
U can jst do a Delta DTP after a Full DTP to a DSO or u can even start with a Delta DTP directly.
For the first time -> Delta DTP = Full DTP !!

Deleting rows in a database using a date-condition

Hi - Can someone help me with this? I wan't to delete old data from a database. More specific, delete all data from ex 2002.(the year to be deleted is coming from a textfield) The date is stored in the database like this; dd.mm.yyyy.
So a delete statement would be something like this: "delete from mytable where date = 2002". Obviously this doesn't work. The problem is how to syncronize the dates i.e have the same types. Any suggestions??
I'm using a jdbc.odbc bridge.

Oh, the date in the database IS a Date type? (You implied it was text when you said it was in the form mm.dd.yyyy) If that's the case, then you can do this (this is simplistic and you really should use PreparedStatements instead, but for brevity's sake):
String year = (input from user)
String targetDate = year + "0101";
String SQL = "delete from myTable where date <= '" + targetDate + "'";
// execute SQL here

OMG! TIS MAKES ME SOOOOOOOOOO MAD!!!!!!!! i was trying to delete my photo library because 150 photos take up space and i already had them in a diferent album, from a tip that made no sense to me. like deleting it the same way i transferred it. i got a new ipod and authorized it then the new album was created. (WHY DO THEY HAVE TO MAKE THINGS SO COMPLICATED!?!?!?) when i tried to do just that i just that, it deleted half my songs. GRRRR!! PLEEZ HELP ME. id hope you would keep it simple pleez

Removing the tick from the box named Sync Photos would not remove any of your music. You must have done something else if half your music was removed from the iPod.

Yes, you can delete anything from your iTunes Library by using the conventional delete method or you can delete (or remove) any of the songs, films, Podcasts etc. from the iPod. Usually this is done by un-ticking the song, film etc in iTunes and then Syncing the iPod to iTunes. That will remove the song form the iPod but leave it in iTunes unless you specifically delete it form iTunes .

Deleting records in millions - any ways to speed

Hello Friends,
I have a table with millions of records . As I am doing testing , I got to delete millioins of records and load then load using ETL tools.
Using simple delete is taking hours together - any ways to increase the speed of deletion.
I can't use truncate as I got to delete only conditional records ( that r in millions )
Any idea ?

Decrease the workload by doing less work. This can be achieved by disabling the indexes - the delete process thus do not have to update the indexes. Disabling triggers (can be dangerous if not done correctly as these may contain specific delete processing logic). In other words, reduce the overheads for a delete to a bare minimum.
Use a bigger truck to carry the workload. A faster trucks means a faster server. That's usually not doable. But using a "+bigger truck+" often is. With a bigger truck you ca shift more workload at the same time - in this case it means using more processes to do the delete, instead of using a single process. You can use Oracle's Parallel Query feature. You can also write your own PL/SQL and SQL code to perform the delete in parallel.
You also need to consider what the delete will do to the space allocated by that table. Despite deleting millions of rows, very little free space may become available (depending on pctfree and pctuse settings of the table) - which means by adding millions of rows again to the table via an ETL process, may seriously bump up the space footprint of that table.
I would personally almost never use a delete in such a case - DML on large volumes of data is expensive. DDL is not. And partitioning is often a non-negotiable option in order to effectively deal with large volumes of data within the constraints of the resources of the system, and within the runtimes dictated by business requirements.

Accidentally deleted several FCP Projects

I'm using FCP X 10.1.1. I've been making simple (uncomplicated) videos and have used a lot of space on my HD. I'm new to the program and I inadvertenly deleted 4 large projects in my FCP library bc I was looking for more disc space. I realized my error and dragged it back into documents and now I'm really confused as to what to do. It is over over 800GBs I need the disc space but don't want to lose the projects,...one in particular.
If one deletes a FCP project so that it's in the Mac's trash - how do you recover it properly? For example how would you recover a specific deleted FCP project from Time Machine. Does FCP do it's own backup. Below is what I deleted and then dragged back:
"Macintosh HD's projects and events.fcpbundle"

That fcpbundle is the complete FCPX library. If you "put it back" from trash, you should then be able to open it via File>Open Library ?
If its not in the "top list" of Libraries, you may need to navigate to it via the "Other" option on that list.

We'll I don't think there's a easy way to delete a lot of emails besides deleting all of them. To delete all of them click on inbox them edit then "mark all" then trash/delete. Other than that you will have to specifically deleted the ones you want to delete.
