Specified module can not be found ... CS4

I have been using the CS4 trial for just over 2 wks now and all of a
sudden I am getting this error.
The specified module could not be found.
C:\Program Files\Common File\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.1\Version Cue.DLL
When I open a picture I get this message and CS4 closes. I have tried re installing hoping it would find the missing file, no such luck.
I have Vista
I am sort of in a panic...I tried to go resize some pictures to order for a client, so she can have them before she leave town on the 5th and this is what happnes.
I did go down load Adobe reader 9 and it tried up update what seemed like everything Adobe. IDK I had not opened CS4 before this, but the day before it worked just fine.
Please help Jennifer

Did you perhaps have a failed update of Version Cue 4.0.1? I had that exact same problem on my desktop. The install was successful on my laptop. If so there are at least two solutions.
1. Copy the C:\Program Files\Common File\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.0\ folder contents to C:\Program Files\Common File\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.1\
You won't
really have Version Cue 4.0.1 but that likely won't matter when running PS CS4.
2. If you have a successful install of Version Cue 4.0.1 you can copy the contents of the folder C:\Program Files\Common File\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.1\ on that install to your failed system.

  • CS4 wont open - error specified module could not be found

    I have run CS4 on my windows Vista pc for years without a problem.  Yesterday I downloaded DNG converter 7.2 as I have purchased a Fuji Xpro and needed to be able to process the Raw files - my version of ACR is not compatible.  Today I tried to look at an old image processed from a year ago in CS4 and got the error message:
    "The specified module could not be found C:\programfiles\commonfiles\Adobe\AdobeVersionCueCS4\Client\4.0.1\VersionCue.DLL"
    I have tried to open many different images from Bridge into photoshop and from the photoshop file menu - photoshop opens with the image, then this error comes up, I click ok and photoshop closes.
    I saw this happened to someone else on here and a staff member recommended doing updates - I have done that twice and I still get the same error.  Can anyone help please.
    Many thanks

    Finally I was pointed in the right direction by someone on another forum.  It seems this is an updater problem that Adobe just havent fixed - I was directed to this thread which has the answer
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/313930?start=0&tstart=0
    Basically I copied the contents of the 4.o.o folder into the 4.o.1 folder except for the Dictionary file and bingo Photoshop works again.
    I understand Adobe did put a fix up for this that involved uninstalling etc so I am very happy to have found a much simpler answer.  Hope this helps anyone else who comes up against this and thank you again to Curt and Noel for trying to help on this thread.

  • Error messages:  "itunesobjspl/jenetsvc.dll The specified module could not be found."  And Error -2032  "Quicktime failed to initialize."

    I initially got the Error -2032 message after downloading the newest version of itunes.  I read a geek blog that said to uninstall Quicktime and I did that a bunch of times.  I also uninstalled and reinstalled itunes repeatedly.  None of this works.  I noticed that the apple website said the requirements for the new quicktime/itunes download included an intel processor and I have a celeron processor, so I wondered if that was the problem, although everything has been running fine up until now, so I don't know.  It also doesn't address the missing .dll file, but I may have accidentally deleted that because I went into the registry to try and unload some Quicktime files when I uninstalled Quicktime.  I did this at the suggestion of the blog, but I may have screwed it up.  Now I need to repair the missing .dll and still try to get itunes running

    Hello everyone,
    I have the same problem as mentioned above "Unable to load DLL 'elev.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) ", when trying to load the dll file into a window application.  I developed a window application in VS2005 and want to import a dll file from another program into my project and use it.  But when I try to call one of the function in the dll file, I got the error message "Unable to load dll 'elev.dll".  I try all options that say it works to solve this problem, but somehow it doesn't work for me. I put the "elev.dll" file in the bin folder and use P/Invoke to import the dll file into my project.  Can anyone help me out with this?  thanks and really appreciated!
     Here is how I import the dll:
    [DllImport(@"D:\elev.dll")]
    //[DllImport("emap.dll", SetLastError = true)]
    private static extern void EMA_Init();
    and in the code,  I call the function above but failed to load the dll file
    EMA_Init();

    Hi All,
    I have existing SSAS project. Previously it was working but now its showing following error:
    The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) (System.Windows.Forms)
    Please provide the solution.

    Hi Vivek,
    According to your description, you are experiencing the error "The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) (System.Windows.Forms)" when opening the SQL Server Analysis Services project that can be opened
    without any problems, right?
    Based on my research, the issue is caused by that some .dll files in your SSAS instance are corrupt. In your scenario, can you open other SSAS project? Please download the Adventure Works for SQL Server 2012 sample project and check if
    you can open it or not.

    Hi,
    I am trying to install the SQL 2012 SP2 in one of the servers. I am getting the error as :
    TITLE: SQL Server Setup failure.
    SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:
    The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)

    The same setup is working in other servers, but on a particular server I am getting this error.
    Server configuration: Windows server 2008 r2 standard edition, servvice pack 1 , 64 bit OS
    How to fix this?
    Thanks

    Hi Venkatzeus,
    Based on my research, the issue is caused by that some .dll files are corrupt or missing during the installing of SQL Server 2012 SP2.
    In order to troubleshoot this issue, please view the detail error message in SQL Server Setup Log Files. We can read the Summary text under %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Setup Bootstrap\Log\, and the Detail text in the place %programfiles%\Microsoft
    SQL Server\110\Setup Bootstrap\Log\<YYYYMMDD_HHMM>\Detail.txt. For more details, please see:

  • ODBC error: The specified module could not be found. ?

    Hi,
    I have Oracle9i database installed on a test server. If I set the ODBC on the server (the TNS service name is ABCD), I can test it and run a VB application without any error. Then, I need to run the VB application on a client (Windows XP), that does not have any Oracle database installed. Following somebody's suggestion, I installed oo4o for Oracle9i which has the Universal Installer. Then, I installed the Oracle ODBC driver for Oracle9i. It looks okay because when I click Add under System DSN, it lists "Oracle in OraHome90" which is the same as I see on my oracle9i database server. However, the TNS service name is empty (on the database server, it lists ABCD). If I enter ABCD (or ABCD.xyz.com, the full global database host name)in it and run the test connection, I got: "The specified module could not be found" in OCI.DLL window. The listener.ora on the database server does show SID_LIST_LISTNER = ... (SID_NAME = ABCD).
    Can somebody explain why? I definetly don't want to install the database client software on this client machine, I just want to run a VB or JAVA application on it to connect to the database server using ODBC, or something else if possible.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Harvey

    Make sure it is the same version of 9i (i.e. 9.0.x or 9.2.x) for both OO4O and ODBC. Also make sure that the ORACE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\BIN directory is in your search path AND last, check your windows directories and subdirectories for duplicate copies of OCI.DLL (or anywhere else on the PC for that matter). Sometimes MicroSoft will include one and it is usually an OLD one.

  • Oraoledbpus.dll: The specified module could not be found

    We are trying to access an Oracle 9.1 database through a Crystal report that uses the Oracle ODBC driver v9.02. The report is generated through an ASP page running on IIS 6 and a Windows 2003 server.
    We get a popup on the server console intermittently with the following error:
    Oraoledbpus.dll: The specified module could not be found
    We have checked the security settings on the Oracle Home directory and assigned appropriate access to all the following:
    Administrators
    SYSTEM
    Authenticated Users
    IUSR
    ASPNET
    We have also checked that the Oracle Home bin directory is in the PATH. This dll does exist in the bin directory. When the report is run in the Crystal Reports designer there is no problem. The strange things is that the Data Source used by the report is ODBC and not Ole DB.
    Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Hello buddy!
    Make sure there is no dll dependence missing. You can try using Dependency walk tool.

  • Designer: dbd_sap.dll (the specified module could not be found)

    Hi,
    I installed BO Edge XI 3.1 server on Linux and the Edge XI 3.1 clients on WinXP PCs as well as the SAP Integration Kit on the server as well as on the clients. The transport files were imported too.
    I can successfully connect to BW within the CMC -> Authentication -> SAP. I also can logon to InfoView, Designer,... with SAP BW credentials.
    When I am trying to create a new universe and universe connection with SAP credentials I get the error:
    "The error 'cs:dbdriver failed to load : c:\program files\business objects enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\dataaccess\connectionserver\dbd_sap.dll (the specified module could not be found)"
    The dbd_sap.dll file is in the correct folder.
    We re-installed the Integration Kit and rebooted, no success.
    We are currently uninstalling all BO products (Client tools, Crystal Reports 2008, Integration Kit) on that client and will try again.
    We are on the base version of the products mentioned; I read the changelog of the ServicePacks, it seems that none of the 2 SPs made a correction regarding this error.
    What could be the error?
    Thanks!

    OK, so I will only install the BO Client Tools as well as the SAP Integration Kit. I don't necessarily need CR at this moment.
    @ Raghu: we are on the base version of the BO Edge and SAP Integration Kit installation (= no SP, no FP)
    EDIT:
    I now installed the BusinessObjects Client Tools and the SAP Integration Kit on another PC, the error didn't occur on this PC

    It sounds as though you’ve had a recent infection and one of your ‘anti’ programs has removed the malware files, or some of them, but missed the entry in the registry, possibly due to an out-dated definitions database. I suggest you, firstly, download and
    run the free Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/free/ to ensure that you are completely clean. If you then restart the computer and the message is still appearing try one of these, but it is prudent to create a system restore point before you change the registry in (1) below
    by going to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > System > System Protection (in the left pane) > System Protection Tab > Create and make sure you give it a meaningful name.
    1. The entry is probably in one of the \Run keys, but as the rascal could be hiding in a number of other ‘autorun’ keys, it’s quicker to search the whole registry. Open a Run window (Windows Logo key+R), type regedit and press Enter. Click Edit > Find and
    type the rogue’s name, put ticks in Keys, Values and Data, then click Find Next. When it’s found in the right pane, right-click it and delete it. There should be only one entry but press F3 to continue searching, just to confirm there are no more.
    2. If you’re concerned about making registry changes disable the entry using the system configuration utility, but bear in mind that you’re disabling the entry not deleting it as you would in (1) above. Open a Run window (Windows Logo key+R), type msconfig
    and press Enter. Go to the Startup Tab and remove the tick alongside the rogue’s name. Click Apply, OK, etc. and restart the computer. When it restarts, put a tick in ‘Don‘t show this again‘ as you‘re effectively doing a selective start up.
    Ninety-nine per cent of politicians give the rest a bad name.

  • API Support.DLL Specified Module Could Not Be Found Error

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    While Starting my laptop the following error message is displaying on my desktop screen:
    "There was a problem Starting
    C:\user\dell\app data\local\conduit\API support\API support.dll
    The Specified Module could not be found"
    Kindly help me to resolve this problem as soon as possible.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    Please try to restore the system back to the point before the issue happened.
    If the issue persists, test in Clean boot mode and Safe mode.
    How to perform a clean boot
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
    If the issue doesn’t appear, you can determine which one can be the cause by using dichotomy in MSconfig. Checking on half of Non-Microsoft service and restart, determining which half of the services cause the issue and repeating to check half of the problematic
    half services.
    Let us know which service or startup cause this pop-up.

  • Java.io.IOException: The specified module could not be found

    Hi.
    I am using Runtime.exec() to run egrep on some files, and then trying to read its ouput in the following way:
    String command2 = "egrep \"" + pattern +
    "\" " + category + "egrep.txt";
    Process p2 = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command2);
    double counterA = 0;
    try {
    BufferedReader fin3 = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(p2.
    getInputStream()));
    String reader = "";
    while ( (reader = fin3.readLine()) != null) {
    counterA++;
    if (counterA != 0)
    //System.out.println(read + " ::: " + counterA);
    fin3.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("E");
    And I get the following exception:
    java.io.IOException: The specified module could not be found
    at java.io.FileInputStream.readBytes(Native Method)
    and this goes on to show exceptions in BufferedInputStream and then my code.
    This does not happen all the time, so I cannot reproduce it easily. I have searched on google and in this forum looking for information but have not found out anything useful.
    Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    The only possible reason for this error occurring that I can think of is that it is somehow a side effect of the limited buffer size for stdin and stderr.
    For an example of emptying both output streams simultaneously, see the StreamGobbler class in this article:
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html
    (this applies to unix, the author just mixed it in with his discussion of windows issues, just remove the "cmd.exe" and other windows stuff)
    Another thing to try if only for the sake of experimentation would be to throw in a "exitValue = p2.waitFor()" just in case there's some unpredictable resource conflict going on (although I can't imagine why for egrep, but it's something to experiment with).
    Let me know if you can narrow down the conditions for reproducing the bug.
