Specify a custom save location for Project & Event files

Does anyone know how to change the location in which iMovie saves its project and event files?
By default they're saved in ~/Movies but I'd like to be able to "create a project" and choose where I want to save my iMovie Events and iMovie Projects. Any help or suggestions would be extremely helpful.
Morgan

Morgan,
Events and Projects are saved by default in either the iMovie Events folder or the iMoive Project folder inside each users Movie folder.
When you start a new Project, you'll be presented with a dialogue box where you can choose a Project folder an a diiferent drive, but the Project file will still be created in a iMovie Project folder on that drive.
Likewise with Events.  You can pick and choose what drive you want them stored on, but they are still going to be in a iMovie Event folder on that drive.
iMovie uses this organiztion in much the same way that iPhoto uses your iPhoto Library.
You can read more about the Project and Event Libraries here:

  • Using OneDrive as default save location for project

    I installed VS on 2 different computers and want to develop from both of them at times. Either my desktop of laptop. Therefore I want to store the project files on the Onedrive folders that are mapped on my local machine.
    I have changed the default save location for Projects and also the other Registry Settings in HKCU... to onedrive/projects folder. But once I create the project from on PC and try to open it from another I am getting the following error.
    the file xxxx.csproj : error : The project file could not be loaded. The filed cannot be accessed by the system.

    Hello waddat,
    I haven't test this issue about onedrive mapped folder. But may I ask this question: Does the location exist in your PC or is it just a mapped virtual drive?
    In my point of view, when you tried to open a project from your folder, it is possible that the file is being used by onedrive synchronous process. Or Visual Studio cannot find the specific file because the file has not been uploaded/downloaded to the path
    you want to search?
    I don't recommend you set the default location to OneDrive folder, it is not reliable for you to do this because the synchronous process of OneDrive is not certain by us.
    If you want to store your projects online, the recommend way is to use Visual Studio Online
    http://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/what-is-visual-studio-online-vs.aspx
    If you want to store projects using OneDrive, please try create your projects on local drive and upload your file to OneDrive and then download it from some other sides to us. I think this is the best practise for you.
    Best regards,
    Barry

  • SBS 2011 GPO for changing the default save location for Word/Excel 2013 not working

    So this is a strange one. I've got an SBS 2011 server that's the only domain controller in the org. I've created a GPO to change the default save location for Excel 2013 and Word 2013 using the Office 2013 ADMX files which were installed to the PolicyDefinitions
    folder.
    The GPO (U-Office2013 Default Save Location) only contains:
    1. User Configuration - Microsoft Excel 2013/Excel Options/Save - Default file location - Enabled - Z:\
    2. User Configuration - Microsoft Word 2013/Word Options/Advanced/File Locations - Default file location - Enabled - Z:\
    The GPO is linked at the OU that contains my users for my SBS organization.
    When I do a gpupdate /force on a windows 7 system with office2013 installed, and then run a gpresult/rsop, the policy appears to be applied successfully as it lists my GPO under the Applied GPOs list on the workstation:
    Applied GPOs
    Default Domain Policy dyndns.local AD (24), Sysvol (24)
    U-Office2013 Default Save Location domain.local/SBSusers AD (6), Sysvol (6)
    In the gpresult report, the applied settings appear under:
    Administrative Templates
    Extra Registry Settings
    software\policies\microsoft\office\15.0\excel\options\defaultpath Z:\ U-Office2013 Default Save Location
    software\policies\microsoft\office\15.0\word\options\doc-path Z:\ U-Office2013 Default Save Location
    BUT, when I go to the workstation, and check office->options-Save-default file path, the path has not been changed to what the GPO is pushing.
    The strange thing is that in my test environment running 2008R2 server and Win7 with Office 2013 and identical settings the default save location is applied and works as expected.
    Any ideas?
    I've already tried re-installing the ADMX templates and re-created the GPO's several times.
    I should also note that other GPO's on the SBS2011 server such as the folder redirection GPO work as expected on the same windows 7 system. It just appears to be an issue with the default save location in office2013 and other Office 2013 related GPOs which
    utilize the recently added ADMX template that don't seem to be working for me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Justin,
    Thanks for your reply. I have tried several different user accounts (all have local admin privileges to the workstation) with the same issue. The default save path does not get applied from the GPO to any of the users i've tried. Here's the steps I took
    per your suggestion:
    1. log on as a user who has never logged onto the workstation before.
    2. run gpupdate /force (entered y for yes when prompted to log off).
    3. Log back in as the user and open Office and check the default save path. It has not been changed to match the GPO setting.
    4. Check rsop to see if the policy was applied. Rsop states the gpo was applied successfully.
    I have attached the gpsvc.log file from a the session described above. The GPO Guid in question is: {DC3C93EC-7C28-48E9-BA38-FCA1E275A207}. Its common name is: U-Word 2013 Default Save Location. It's only setting is:
    Policies\Administrative Templates\Policy definitions(admx files retrieved from central store\Microsoft Word 2013\Word Options\Advanced\File Locations\Default File Location = Enabled\Documents = F:\

  • What is the location for the swatches file in the illustrator product part of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium for windows (date and lenght)? File that manges its funcionallity.  Thanks

    As per adobe agent chat representative, the following question is posted on the fórum to obtain an answe from adobe.
    What is the location for the swatches file in the illustrator product part of Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium for windows (date and lenght)? File that manges its funcionallity.
    Thanks
    <moved from downloading,installing,setting up - kglad>

    Illustrator is not working as it should...
    I want them to compare the original size and date of creation with what I have installed on my computer... I have installed several times with my original CD and I tried once downloading the files from the adobe site (using my own license). I suspect the files has been modified or renamed on my laptop by an external unauthorized user causing the malfunction of the application.
    Customer services does not support CS3 anymore and the updates / patches in the adobe site does not solve the problem... They redirect me to the forums for support...
    Presently, my problem is that after creating a swatch and drag it to the swatch panel, it does not fill as it should a new form... Now, after deactivating and activating my license the swatch seems to fill the new form but when the filter that the swatch has is persistence in the next filling object created even though a different color is being used as a fill (X)... Help in the creation of a swatch over the internet just complicate the issue.
    That's why I would like to know whether updates on my product are being received or files are being replaced without my knowledge...
    Thanks...

    Hi Experts ,
    I am Unable to establish a for loop in custom rtf template for seeded xml file. i am using <?:for-each:G_BSALINE?> FORM FIELD .....<?:FOR-EACH?END> .AM i missing something?
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Need more information about your XML data structure; however based on the code you provided, the synax does not look right; you have some colon sign where it is not needed etc... You could use the following (although not quite sure if you want to use Form Filed to group by or just display), but look at the example provided below.
    <?for-each-group:G_BSALINE?> FORM FIELD .....<?end for-each-group?>
    Example code:
    <?for-each-group:G_INVOICE_NUM;./INV_TYPE?>
    xxxxxxxxxx
    <?end for-each-group?>
    Thanks!

  • Pre-configure save location for converting files to PDF from shell context menu

    Hi all,
    I like Acrobat's integration into the Windows Explorer through the shell context menu command "Convert to PDF", which allows me to drag select a number of files (word documents et cetera) to batch convert them into PDF. It beats doing batch processing fr the Acrobat interface.
    However, it asks me for the save location of each file individually. I would like to have them saved in the same directory as the original file, as the default option so I won't have to attend to the conversion. I can't find such an option in Acrobat's preferences menu though
    Any gurus or users here know of a way around that?
    Regards,
    Jay

    Does your user have custom add-ons besides the Acrobat PDFMaker add-on?  If so, try disabling the other add-ons as a test to see if you get the same results.
    Does your user have a custom template?  Try moving it out and using the standard MS Word template as test?
    Did your user have a previous installation of Adobe Acrobat??  If so, check the Add-ons to see if an older version is still registered with MS Word.

  • Auto-Save location for Photoshop CC?

    I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I had a layered PSD file that I temporarily merged to move onto a different PSD file I was working on. By mistake I accidently closed and saved the original PSD file merged; therefore, losing all of my layers in the process. I am wondering if there is a way to recover a past "saved" version of this document or not?
    I have already tried a couple of different methods which have brought no results, such as looking in the Autorecover folder under C:/Users/USERNAME/Appdata/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC/AutoRecover. I have also tried searching for .tmp files with no luck.
    I understand that I may be at a loss here, but I'm just wondering if finding the past version of this file is possible or not.
    Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
    System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
    System Model: XPS 8300
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 Ghz
    Memory: 16 GB RAM

    One thing I have personally taken away from this forum, is to periodically save a big project with new names.  In fact I have very nearly messed up more than once by overwriting a good version of a saved document with a bad one.
    Same thing applies to backups.  Shadow Protect makes 15 minute incremental backups, but I don't have a routine system of rotating backups, so could find myself with a bad version in the back up as well.  So I try to bypass this by manually backing up my currebt projects folder to a different location at least once a day.
    I seem to have lost more than my share of disk drives in the last few years, and some of it my own fault.  But the bottom line is I haven't lost a jot of data despite that, and was even able to carry on with minimume inconvenience when my main system was out of commission for more than two weeks recently, by simply attaching my USB3 external backup drives to my laptop.
    Shadow Protect cost me $100, and USB3 externals are both fast and relatively cheap nowadays.  I don't even want to think about the consequence of loosing data.

  • Best location for Project.fcp

    Just getting started and testing. I am using a FW external drive for my media (the Scratch drive assigned via System Prefs). All is going well (so far).
    Is there a best location for the Project.fcp file? I think that I read that it best reside on my startup drive.
    But, I also read (I think) that the media files and project files should be kept in the same folder (I don't understand why). I would suspect that the Project.fcp file can be anywhere, just like any other document file. Correct?
    Thanks,
    Sonny

    I asked the same question over three years ago!
    Here was Tom's reply to me that has an added bit of info that might be useful:-
    "+Putting the project file on the system drive is generally considered good practice. I'm not sure how much actual performance improvement you'll see, but the media might be less likely to have dropped frames. It also means, if your autosave vault is on the media drive, that you have project file backups on a second hardware device in case one fails."+

  • How can you specify a custom style class for an ADF component (column)?

    We are using ADF 10_1_3_3_0 on Tomcat.
    We would like to specify an additional style class for a column header. We have specified the following style:
    {color:#808080}af|column.formHeader::header-text
    text-align: right;
    background-color:brown;
    border-color:#999999;
    font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;
    color: blue;
    }{color}
    {color:#808080}&lt;af:column sortable="true" formatType="text" styleClass="formHeader"&gt;{color}
    This does not seem to work. In our tests, the CSS gets generated but the new style class for the column header does not seem to be generated/mapped. I reveiwed this post: Re: Jdev 11g: how to set width of some components on panel form layout. Is this specification (component.className::selector) applicable for the 10g version of ADF?
    Additionnaly, are their specifcations/details for these selectors (e.g. ora-rule-ref, -rt-rule-ref, -tr-rule-ref). I am not clear on what they are mapped to and how they are used.
    Thanks
    Edited by: user10477345 on Oct 27, 2008 6:48 AM

    Hi,
    The column's style classes will be added on the <td> elements, not the header sadly. So for your use case you'll have to place the class on the table itself then use the selector
    af|table.MyStyleClass af|column.formHeader::header-text{}Sadly this will affect all columns, not just one so I don't know if it's going to fir your need.

  • Creating a custom cache location for multiple users

    If I use the browser.cache.disk.parent_directory method (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.disk.parent_directory) to set up a specific folder for the cache:
    Are there advantages to specifying a different (sub)folder for each of the users on my computer, or will Firefox handle things automatically just as well?

    Note that only one user can use a specific profile at the time, so if there is any chance that two or more users are active at the same time then you need separate profile folders and separate cache folders for each user.
    Note that you can also set prefs via a mozilla.cfg auto configuration file.<br />
    Such a configuration file can contain JavaScript, so you can detect the user profile (ProfD) and environment variables.
    See:
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
    These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:
    defaultPref(); // set new default value
    pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
    lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • Best Location for Deploying Common File in WSP

    I have a small wsp containing a masterpage and a stylesheet that will act as the standard branding for many SP site collections in my company.  One of the requirements is to have a footer with a link to a Terms & Conditions PDF in the masterpage.
     So I'd like this PDF to be deployed in this WSP with the masterpage and styles so that we don't have to manually add it when a new site collection is created.
    My question is where is the best place to deploy this file so that I can easily link to it from anywhere in the site collection (i.e. top level site vs subsite)?  I was thinking a mapped folder would be best, but I'm not sure, and frankly I'm not sure
    how to link to a file in a mapped folder.  Am I making this too difficult, should I just put the file in one centralized public place and hard-code the link in the master page?  Please let me know your thoughts.  Thanks.

    Use mapped folder (Layouts) to deploy your files. In custom web part solution, map folder with your solution and copy the files in it. All other site collections can access files form mapped folder.

  • What was location of project and files on import?

    I have a four months old PP CS3 project (on Mac - with files from a Sony EX3) that, together with relevant files, has been moved to an archive HD. I now have to work on this again but as each clip is stored in an individual folder I would like to move the project and files back to the position they had on import, rather than having to manually open each folder to relink. The problem is that I don't recall on which HD the original import and editing took place. Is there any way to find this information in the project?

    That depends on how the project was moved.
    If the Project Manager was used then you're out of luck.
    If not then you can open the project file in a text editor and search on the file name until you find text that includes the full path with the filename. Somewhat tedious, but it can be done.
    Cheers
