Spectacular Spectral Crash - Not Happy

I was happily basking in the satisfying process of cleaning up some audio tracks using spectral view and the marquee tool and extolling the virtue of this wonderous facility - truly a miracle tool - when it happened!
I selected an area of interest with the Marquee tool and then utilising the 'Play Spectral Selection' to ensure the correct area was identified I pressed play to listen. On the second press of the play button - Crash, Bang and or Wallop!
Result - 2 blank screens and a PC wandering in hyperspace!
Had to press the reset button and you guessed it all lost.
Did I not just get through offering advice to someone on the forum about saving early and saving often?
Hmmmm did I learn from that?

I went back for a second helping of the same.
You guessed it - same thing press play twice - all over red rover.
Is it just me or has anybody else shared my pain with this one?

I don't think so - it's not the most common crash going, but it does have a lot of similarities with what you described, which is why I wondered. The whole thing though almost certainly has something to do with the display mode - these crashes have only ever happened in Spectral view. In my case it was(is) worse - it's not play that won't work, it just causes a complete crash when you make a selection; you don't have to do anything else at all. I have AA3.0 running on two machines, but only one of them (the laptop) does this, incidentally, and there have been
very few other reports.
But as I said, Adobe
are aware...

    My PBk17 G4 1.67 has been behaving irradically since I set up a second user and enabled fast user switching, upgraded to 1GB of Apple RAM, and installed the software for my new HP PCS 1510 all in one. It is running must faster with the two users, now that I have more RAM, but- it will generally not wake up from sleep, has to be force-restarted, and on several occasions, and again twice this morning, after my force-restarting, I get this ominous gray floating warning telling me I have to force restart my computer (the message is also in a few other languages).
    Everytime I have to restart, it tells me that it cannot find Bonjour, then I have to put in my keychain password, and Keychain wants my mail password, and Virex cannot connect to the server for an e-update. It is generally not happy right now.
    I have done all of my software updates, repaired my preferences, and I don't know what to try next.

  • Since upgrade can surf past first tab can not back up after short time then whole program freezes not happy

    XP Pentium 4 since upgrade cant surf past first tab. finally cant backspace, finally freezes entire firefox. really not happy tried fixed in troubleshooting didnt work ran malware ran total virus scan no listed problem worked before upgrade although was beginning to get crash notices at closing on an increasing tempo. have used fox for years. this making me unhappy. dont want to have to switch. please come with and fix. cant seem to return to 6 whicxh had its own problems but worked

Hopefully it'll be fixed this time, otherwise I guess there's a fabrication error in these chips and we'll have to wait for Crucial to fix this (or we're going to have to look for another manufacturer).

    VERY disappointed in Elements 13. Freezes, doesnt blend properly. Gone back to using Elemnets 8, far more stable. Why did Adobe remove the Interactive Option in the Photomerge Panorama???  Wasted my money. LOVE Elements 8, great program, never crashes and user friendly. Adobe dont give you a contact point if you need help. Trusted Adobe's name but not HAPPY.

  • Not happy with moving around keys on the timeline

    I just changed from Final Cut to Premiere CS5.0 and I really like it. Working on a Macbook Pro i5 2.3GHZ, Mac OSX 10.7 But I am not happy with moving around on the timeline. I was used to using the up and down arrows to move to next video edit point, marker point or audio edit point. I tried everything to change it, highlighted the track etc. It only works together with the FN key, which is a bit uncomfortable. And then it definetely is not going to any audio edit points (very annoying!!!) and marker points (have to use Q and W keys). It makes me doubting if continuing with Premiere or not. Its such an esencial and easy to use tool while editing in a normal fast editing rythm. When I change it in the customize keyboard menu, into a Custom keyboard or FCP keyboard, it would ignore my changes on the arrowkeys, although it recognizes any other changes I do. Is it so complicate to change this issue in Premiere to how it is set in FCP? Its such an obvious tool, using the arow keys to move around, cannot beleive that we have to live with such a limitation. Please!!!

    You dont have to live with that at all if you are fixed only to what you have previously done.
    It makes me doubting if continuing with Premiere or not.

  • Ex-Uverse customer not happy with being a new Fios customer

    We just had our Fios Triple installed on Saturday 9/30/13. I was a very happy Uverse customer.  We moved to Verizon territory and we wanted something similar so we chose Verizon vs Direct TV and Charter Cable.  Verizon Fios is far inferior to my experience with AT&T Uverse. It wasn't just one person but the whole experience. I never called AT&T's customer service in the years we had it. We had no problems. I just got off the phone for the sixth time since our install and  it hasn't been a week yet. 
    Issue 1) Installer called at 8:30am to tell us he needs to come earlier than our 10am-3pm appointment. I explained we were moving and was signing the lease at 9am that is why we set a 10am-3pm appointment so we would have the key, TVs and phone in our place ready for the install. The installer said well he was scheduled for 2 appointments during that time frame so he doesn't know if he could make it at all if he doesn't come now. I told him it was ok to come after 3pm but please call and let us know since we are moving in. I thought about the situation and as a former dispatcher myself, I knew we shouldn't have gotten that call. I called customer service to let them know installer might not be able to show at all and gave them heads up. We got a call back from the installer telling us he will keep the set appointment time. He showed at 1pm
    Issue 2) The installer showed with a bad attitude. Our place was already set up for Fios. The previous resident had it installed so it shouldn't have been a hard job. He was complaining he needed to drill a hole to install the Router in the living room.  I told him no problem the hole can be covered with the TV and furniture. There was only one wall that the TV could go on so I asked what was the alternative outside of canceling the order. He placed a small hole next to the Verizon box so I wasn't sure what his issue was. It was obvious he didn't want to come to work that day. He took what I thought a long time to set up DVR, Set Top Box,router and phone. I tried hard not to compare AT&T installer to Verizon installer because people have different personalities. This installer wasn't friendly and AT&T went out of his way to tell us what he was doing, gave us feedback and walked us through all three. To put the icing on the cake, he left a nice sheet with our new phone number, att.net email, Uverse URL, wireless network connection name and key and if we had any questions in the next few days, we could call him directly since he was familiar with our set up. The Verizon installer went over the remote and left the channel line up brochure. He told us if you need the wireless network connection info for the devices,  the numbers are on the back of the modem. (Do you know how many numbers are on the back of the modem???) I know how to find the numbers but my husband didn't so I had to tell him which ones.
    Issue 3) After the install we went back to the old house and got more stuff to move. My husband said he wanted to record Homeland on Showtime can I do it from my phone like I did with Uverse. It took me 1 hour to figure it out because the website wasn't mobile so it wasn't working. I had to download 3 apps to figure out which one to use. I was so proud that I figured it out. It wasn't intuitive and it confirmed I had scheduled the recording. Monday morning I'm in front of the DVR to check my scheduled recordings. Homeland was there but didn't play. Called customer service..They said you have the Extreme HD. You need Ultimate HD. I told them I'm a customer and the names mean nothing to me. I wanted the package that had Showtime but didn't need HBO. When I placed the order originally, I told the sales agent I wanted a similar package to what we had with Uverse. I mentioned we watch Lifetime, Showtime, the Movie Channel and sports but we were going to suck it up that Uverse got Pac 12 channel last week and Fios doesn't have it. I pulled out the channel brochure and saw that there are no movie channels with the Extreme package. I think of 2 errors-1) Give us the channels we want and 2) Why was I able to appear to record from a channel we didn't subscribe to but I was made aware of the 3rd error when the new agent was confirming my order. The price for more channels was cheaper!!! Now I'm not happy at all!!!
    Issue 4) I had to look up the phone number on my account. It wasn't in the confirmation email order and of course I had to call customer service once again to get full access to my account online because the call never came through with my full access activation code. I got the code and went to set up my voice mail. I couldn't. I called customer service again and was told I didn't have a voice mail box set up on the server. I asked why. The tech said it wasn't on the order so we didn't now you wanted it. I asked is there an extra charge doesn't it come with Fios voice he said yes then I asked why isn't it just set up. He said how are we suppose to know you want it!!! I've been ordering landlines and cell phones since the 70's. I've never had to tell anyone I want voice mail. All I had to do was set it up.He said well I'll add it and it could take up to 24 hours before you can set it up. 
    Issue 5) I record Scandal and schedule to record on all types since we have HD in the living room and SD in the bedroom. We decide to watch half in the living room and the other half in the bedroom. You know the problem there.. CAN'T. I'm still frustrated with Verizon but haven't reached the boiling point until...I can't record  on Monday night The Voice and Dancing With the Stars at the same time at 8pm and Hostages and Black List at 10pm. I see 8pm shows recording as the same time as the 10pm because the networks end the shows at 10:01pm. I said well lets see if in the future one of the shows are on Video On Demand. Click on VOD and it says Temporarily Unavailable. SERIOUSLY!!!! I call customer service. I get a tech. He transfers me to a sales agent to make sure I have VOD in my package. She gets an ear full  of my problems and gives me a $20 discount per month for 12 months. I didn't boil over..Still frustrated but appreciated that finally someone tried to make me happy. She transfers me to tech to fix DVR issues and VOD. Tech can't fix SD/HD or recording my 4 Monday night shows. The DVR has limitations that I didn't have with Uverse. VERIZON -time to get up to speed and fast with your DVR limitations. It can be solved with allowing more recordings at the same time...DUH!! You guessed it..Video on Demand was never set up for our account. It will take up to 24 hours to add this service that even comes with the basic Fios!!! I asked the tech how does this happen! When an order is placed isn't there a check list to make sure all the features are activated. He said yes but the agent didn't order VOD. Now to me that makes no sense for the agent to have to order set up for something that comes with a package. It should be a part of the check list.
    Verizon..All I can say is, you guys have got to get this together. There needs to be a customer complaint hotline because I now get to tell everyone on this forum and all my social media accounts how poor your set up for new customers and how your DVR service is lacking. I asked during each call if there was a general customer relations department for Fios one agent said yes and gave me the number to Verizon Wireless customer relations...oops!! I happen to be a wireless customer and they got an ear full and apologized for your incompetence. They didn't have a number and got off the phone embarrassed that they shared the same name.

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
    Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

  • I have some problems while passing control array as refernce to the sub vi and sub VI crashes not deterministically after few minutes

    Hallo every body,
    i have some questions when i am passing the refernces to the sub_VI
    1)when i run the application, the blink indicator(in main VI) starts blinking. even in sub_vi for true case i set it true and for false case i set it false. why from begining of the execution it starts blinking?
    2)the stop button i am using in main VI is too slow. when i press the stop button it takes too much time to stop the application. why?
    3)the array control (amplitude, freq,total time taken )
    i am creating references of array. then these references i am sending to for loop. where it will convert as scalr values and then these scalar values to the sub_vi. opposite to it i am getting the reference of scalar cycles value and i am buliding an array of these scalar cycles to show it in indicator. it seems not to be working properly. why?
    for this exexution some times i get error 91.
    4) sometimes in the begining i get error 1055. why?
    5) my sub vi crashes not deterministically.some time times after 2 minutes. some times after 5 minutes. by crash i mean i dont get an error but on the oscilloscope i see not smooth sine signal, but some strange broken, unbroken, delayed(all together mixed signals). why?

    1) At some point the Blinking property gets set. Then the errors result in the program terminating. The property never gets reset. Setting a Property node in the main VI with Blinking = False prevents this.
    2) You have 1 second Wait until next multiple delays in both the main and subVI loops. Depending upon which delays have executed when you push the Stop button it can take two seconds or more before all the loops execute again and note the Stop button.
    3) The references are to arrays. (Time Taken, Amplitude, Cycles and Frequency) but you are connecting scalar values to the Values properties. Variant does not mean you can connect anything and it will convert to what you want. Once the Type has been set (when the control was created), the property node input matches that type.
    4) 5) I never got this far so I cannot explain these errors. However, I suspect that once you fix the others, these will either be fixed also or the cause will become more apparent.

    1. If you are this unhappy with that phone, and the lost earbuds is the only thing stopping you from taking it back, why do not just buy some earbuds. That way you can get rid of that phone. It all depend upon how much you want to get rid of that phone.
    2. Yet if you are stuck with that iPhone, here is something might help you to control the data usage. By design, iPhones do turn off WiFi when they go dormant. So if a download is in progress and so forth when the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data, if this setting is left on. Therefore, from multi-sources I have learned that if you keep your iPhone connected to a power source, then it will stay connected to the available WiFi.

  • How do I change the background colour on notes. I need a darker background due to a visual issue. Apple has now discriminated those with visual issues.  I am so not happy with many of the new changes because of this.

    I am so not happy with the new changes especially when it come to the ability to change background colours, fonts and font sizes/ colours... Does Apple really think that their only audience is the young cool crowd or people who do not have a visual impairment.  Think before you make changes to your software and programs.  You WILL lose more people to androids if you continue this way.
    At least give users the ability to make apps like notes their owned by allowing them to pick the style, theme, background and colour, font size and colour. 
    A very ****** off Apple user who is now looking at Androids.

    I'm sorry but I don't see an ideal way to do this. Is it the yellow label text, e.g:  "New" against the white background which is causing the difficulty?
    The only way I've found of getting the colors to change in Notes is via Settings>General>Accessibility>Invert Colors but then it looks like something has barfed all over your screen.
    I'd be very, very surprised if Apple do not fix this, firstly because I believe "Accessibility" is a legal matter and secondly because they will not want to cause difficulty for their customers.  We have to remember that this is a major, major overhaul of iOS, it has essentially been taken back to the drawing board and done from scratch again, it may take a little time, but I'm sure they will fix these issues.

    I have written the front end of a banking application.
    The problem is I am not happy with how the components are positioned.

    6 rows are made up of mainly labels and textfield.
    One row is a panel, which has other components.
    The problem is there is a large gap between the labels and the next component.

  • Problems with upgrading my iphone to v6 - I am not happy!  It deleted all of my apps, so I had to reload them.  Now many of the apps do not work - they keep asking for my apple ID and PW but then never open.

    I kept getting reminders to update my iphone to v6, so I did so and I am not happy!  It deleted all of my apps, so then I had to reload them.  Now many of the apps do not work - when I try to open them they keep asking for my apple ID and PW and when I enter this it just goes away and never opens.  Anyone else had this issue?

    Happened to me once awhile back. The exact same thing. What I did to get everything working again was open up itunes on PC and click on "Apps" section (not the one in your iphone section, but the one in the "Libraries" section near the top). Then proceed to totally delete all of the apps that aren't working (if it asks if you want to send to recycle bin click yes). Re-sync phone, which will remove them from the phone. And, finally, re-install them. It was a pain, but the only thing that worked. Hope it works for you. Good luck!

  • Not happy with lack of attention to detail...

    Extremely disappointed in Verizon. I upgraded my phone and plan on Friday 2 May, at the end of the transaction I was told I would receive my phone 5 May around 8 pm I inquired on FB where my phone was, after 2.5 hours and several IM back and forth, I was told I was “missing" something on my application, news to me since I filled out everything that was asked. So I called the number given because apparently Brian was done talking to me. The customer service rep was very nice however it took her 20 minutes to figure out why my app said approved but there was no phone, come to find out that my SSN was needed , I gave my SSN 12 years ago when I opened my account. How can you not have it? Furthermore there was nothing on my account stating more info was needed, I have no email associated with my account for a reason. I do not check my personal email often. I could have received a text alert but nope there wasn’t one of those or even a message on my online profile, but again that didn’t happen. I finally got it straightened out and the Rep wanted to verify my email address I had on file???? It was my personal email address ( however was no email to me asking for any additional info) So let me get this straight you don’t have my SSN that I provided you but can get an email I have not provided?  An hour later I received a text message that I needed to accept the term and condition of my new contract!!!!! Really? That couldn’t be done before? **** poor service. I am now allegedly set to get my new phone Friday  a week after I ordered it , you had no issue with immediate changing me to my more expensive plan but make it difficult for me to receive my phone , I paying for service and having to spend an obnoxious amount of time trying to get Verizon to do their job! Not happy just give me my phone I should not have to wait it boggles my mind how overnight shipping can take an entire week!

    Asking for you SSN is simply a way to confirm that you are who you say you are. It is not unusual for an online/phone order to be held up for further identity confirmation. I see this same complaint on these forums to assume that it is not an unusual occurrence.
    You can remember that you have not given your email to Verizon within the last 12 years? I have a hard enough time remembering if I have given it out within the last month or so. They must have gotten it from somewhere. I don't think they go around spying on people to covertly acquire people's email addresses.
    Have you signed up for MyVerizon? I believe they ask for your email address during that signup.
    As to receiving the text to confirm, that is simply another safeguard to confirm the person in possession of the phone already on the account is the person actually placing the order.
    As Elector has stated, it is usually quicker to actually take possession of a phone in person.
    Many people actually prefer the safeguards in place in order to prevent others from ordering items on their account.

  • I used to use PS7 then upgraded everything including computers.  Now I get out of ram errors all the time. Not Happy!!  Ideas?

    I used to be able to minipulate huge photoshop files.
    Now I can't even get one to go from 20 to 50 gig!
    All I get is this out of ram error.

    It would be necessary that you have to use "Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool". (see Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 )
    The order varies depending on your individual needs:
    1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:

    2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
    3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
