Speech to text cs6 - NO HELP?

i'm going round in circles, and there's still no built in help for cs6!?
i get as far as analysis, but the anyalysied text is gibberish (using a clear spoken subject with australian english lang pack). nor do i get the buttons described in the video (ie. transcribe, etc.,) on adobe tv explaining how to use this feature - this feature being one of the main reasons i decided to buy into prempro.
is there a simple clear guide anywhere to using this feature in cs6?
frustrated, and with no hair left to tear out ;-(

If you're looking for speech to text to get closer to actual speech, you'll have to attach a script to the clip prior to analysis. Without a script, the feature is not as useful as you've found out.
Help has been on the web since ship, just press F1.
As you know from your other thread, we are still putting together the PDF.
It's almost finished.

There are many, many threads on this forum about this issue. Do a forum search for "wi-fi greyed out" and see if any of the solutions therein will work for you. Best of luck.

Is there Speech to Text Software Capabilities? .... for Adobe Acrobat PDF Fillable Forms - Mac

I hope that someone can help me with this.....
I create forms in InDesign and export to Adobe Acrobat PDF. I create a fillable version in Acrobat so my clients "field therapists" can fill the forms out utilizing their laptops and iPads when on location with client. The forms they fill out, most use the mac, and they are now requesting that the fillable PDF forms have the capability to render text when it is spoken. (Speech to Text) also if written with a stylus pen the want it to render the text in the fields (handwriting to text)
I have researched and have found a company that has software that does this for mac, called dragon, but they said I need to test the software to see if it does what I need it to do with the acrobat pdf.
Has anyone implemented this "speech to text" and "handwriting to text" in any of their Adobe Acrobat PDF fillable forms?
If so, what did you find worked, or what did you find that did not work.
All responses welcome, I am hopeful I can find software that will work with existing mac adobe acrobat fillable PDF forms so I dont have to change the manner in which I am creating my forms for this client.
P.S. FYI, I am not looking for responses that are a response for 508 Compliant forms which is speaking the text, this I do for clients and this I know how to do, it is quite different from "Speech to Text"

There really is nothing Adobe can do about how non-Adobe software functions. The PDF standard is no longer controlled by Adobe, it's controlled by ISO. Some PDF viewers choose to have no support for forms, some have pretty good support, and some (like Preview) are simply malevolent. There is a lot of non-Adobe software that creates bad PDFs, and a lot that doesn't have nearly the support of Acrobat/Reader. Again, this isn't a problem Adobe can solve.
Regarding, allowing image formats with the buttonImportIcon method and Reader, I know a feature request has been submitted for this. Reader 11 is the first version since Reader 5 that supports this, so I have hope for the future. In the mean time, it's fairly easy nowadays to convert an image to PDF. Even Preview can do it.

I've done a speech-to-text on a clip, and now I want to export the text. I can't find anything in the help or on the forums. Can anyone help?

The "MTS" file extension is not supported for speech to text conversion. This is apparent as the "Analyse" button is greyed out. By changing the MTS file extension to M2V, speech to text will work. Adobe is aware of this fault but has not noted it in the Knowledge Base. Adobe Support advised me that a lot of people are experiencing the fault. There is no apparent downside to changing the file extension within Premiere Pro.

Speech to text feature deleting blocks after pause, what happened?

A week or two ago, my speech to text started to delete entire blocks of words, and start over in the beginning of a thought (spoken).
I have never had this problem and historically could speak to text an entire e-mail. I understand others with Google phones are seeing this lately as well.
I have tried to change settings, restart, pull battery/sim..etc... nothing fixes this issue.
I need to get details on how to correc this. It's a major problem as I use this often for work, but in current state its unusable.

Speech to Text Issue

I'm having an issue with the Speech to Text. For example I will say "Send text to Lisa give me a call".......it shows

Message: To Lisa give me a call
When I use this feature to use navigation or to call someone - It works just fine. It just doesn't work to text, and well - I would to be able to use it.

Good afternoon.
When you use Speech to Text, you can say "Send Text NAME", not TO. For example, "Send Text John". Then you will get a pop-up that has the name you are sending message to. Once you have that screen, you can say your text message and send. If you still need assistance, please send me a Private Message and I will be happy to help you.

TS4079 Trouble with Siri and speech to text feature

iPhone 5
Siri is enabled and location svcs is on, however Siri not responding, progress status sysmbol just spins and spins. Simularly - speech to text feature in other apps not functioning properly; after voice commands are accepted, the progress status symbol just continues to spin. I've closed down all apps, powered down the phone and retried with same results. What am I missing? Please help! Thanks

CS5.5 help titles visible in CS6 Adobe Help Manager

Dear Community Help Team,
After my upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6, old Help titles were still visible in the Download Preferences section of the Help Manager.
I removed the complete CS5.5 suite to ensure a clean install of CS6. Unfortunately, the Adobe de-installation script does not clean up the CS5.5 files in the C:\Users\<name>\AppData folder of Windows 7. The same happened after my upgrade from CS4 to CS5.5.
Fortunately, I was able to fix the issues myself:
I went to:
C:\Users\<name>\AppData\Roaming\chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1\Local Store\HelpCfg\en_US
Apparently, the Help Topics are built from the contents of this folder.
I removed the old .helpcfg files. If a help file is not included in Adobe Help > Download Preferences, I added them manually by going to e.g. this folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\HelpCfg\en_US
And copied the required .helpcfg file to the folder mentioned above.
Is there a possibility to remove old Help titles in the next de-installation script of a future CS product?

I looked into this using my previous search query: "image trace" for Illustrator CS6.In the search results list I see the CS version number in the title of the articles. I think this is a nice way of catering for different audiences of CS versions in one integrated search function.
However, I am not sure whether the search results are ordered by version number and I am not sure if I require a CS version in my query to get my answers. Remember, I arrived at the Community Help website through a link in one of the CS6 applications, Illustrator that is.Furthermore what I would like to see as an improvement is facetted search. Here, search results are ordered by topics such as CS version and similar results topics such as "image trace" and "live trace" in my example.Now I have to scroll down a long list to find what I was looking for.
I agree with ATS's previous post and I would like to emphesize the same point (item 2 in my previous post) again.
No matter how well search is improved in Community Help, we do need a comprehensive manual with text, images and instructions that deals with CS6 functionality. If the manual was not ready at the time of shipping CS6, the product is not ready for shipping..
I also need to have a pdf manual ready for offline reading as well. On the moment there is none yet. If my internet connection drops, I am on my own. Not nice for first time users.
CS5.5 came with a complete help manual; in Community Help as well as a pdf. You cannot expect us to figure out the differences based on articles of CS5 and CS6. If we continue the current apporach, imagine three CS versions from now where we have to revert to old version articles.Again this not nice for first time customers.
Moreover, in my example where I search for image trace options in Illustrator CS6, I cannot revert to the old articles because the whole functionality (and algorithms) has been changed. There are no articles about the new function: only a few paragraphs and a video link.
I do like embeded video tutorials in any future articles of Community Help. I think that has added value over a static pdf manual. It invites users to come to the Community Help website.

Speech-to-Text Keeps Turning Itself Off!

I am trying to use speech to text to reduce arm strain when using the computer. Unfortunately, I have to switch from speaking to typing to fix each line, and speech to text keeps turning off while I'm fixing each line. It is a nuisance having to fix each line, and an added nuisance having to turn speech to text back on for each line.
Any suggestions? I already use enhanced dictation. I already picked up a ... @#$% malfing ... new mic. Dragon is outside my price range.

Incidentally, it would help if speech-to-text status showed up in the menu bar.

Duplication of sentences when composing texts using speech-to-text

I am using a 2013 Moto G with Android 4.4.4. When composing some text messages using speech to text, there can be a duplication of sentences. IOW, I will dictate one sentence and the text will show that sentence printed twice. It usually happens for messages that are several sentences in length. Is there a way to replace/repair the stock messaging app?

Thank you for your response, Christina. This started a few weeks ago. I
was experimenting (yes, I know that can be dangerous with different
messaging apps, like Hangouts and also Viber, but finally decided to go
back to the standard messaging app that was included with my phone. I
believe that is when the difficulties started. I didn't knowingly change
any other settings in my phone and in all other respects my phone appears
to operate normally. I don't see any difference in this problem if I am
indoors or outdoors. Just this morning I was sitting in front of my desk
where my modem and router is located and got the same duplication in a text
message I sent. I may have mentioned in my original message that my texts
will also frequently drop the last word in a sentence. It didn't do that
this morning, however. This problem seems to be totally random, as about
25% of texts (and I always dictate my texts) are printed on the phone's
screen and sent normally. I have also sent a message to Google, but have
had no response yet. Thank you for trying to help.

Huh? There is no speech to text key. There are some apps such as Dragon Dictation and Vlingo that will do speech to text. They're available in the App Store.

Comprehending the Speech to Text

Hi all!
I'm currently working on my thesis project which is the Speech to Sign Language Animation using Avatar. I have gathered information and some software for recognizing speech and converting it to text.
My problem is, after converting the speech into text, how will i suppose to know or what will i do to make the converted text into sentences if the user is saying two or more sentences. Is there any algorithm available that might help me with this? Any reply is very much appreciated..Thanks^_^
