Speed at which podcasts are reproduced/heard ? How do I alter narrative speed of podcasts for my listening. ? Mine very slow.

Podcasts are downloaded to the wrong folder

I've moved my library to a network drive (Y:). However, new podcasts are still being downloaded to My Documents/My Music/iTunes/Podcasts
The Media folder location has been changed to Y:\Shared Music in the preferences, and there doesn't appear to be a separate option for a podcast folder, so why is it downloading to the default location instead of where I've told it to?

i am also having the same problems where iTunes has its own automatically assigned folder for it to store its completed podcast downloads, which on my PC it has chosen this C:\Users\chris\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Podcasts as its location for them to be stored at.
however, i dont like this and i would like 2 change my preferences on where the podcasts would b downloaded and then afta completion, they would be automatically be moved straight to the drive and folder location due to my own choosing so i know where my completed podcast which i had jus downloaded, would be in a specifically desegnated LABLED folder which is located on another drive thats available to use, and not to have it anywhere on my main PC's HD for Windows 7, which is its C: drive.

My performance is very slow when I run graphs. How do I increase the speed at which I can do other things while the data is being updated and displayed on the graphs?

I am doing an an aquisition and displaying the data on graphs. When I run the program it is slow. I think because I have the number of scans to read associated with my scan rate. It takes the number of seconds I want to display on the chart times the scan rate and feeds that into the number of samples to read at a time from the AI read. The problem is that it stalls until the data points are aquired and displayed so I cannot click or change values on the front panel until the updates occur on the graph. What can I do to be able to help this?

It may also be your graphics card. LabVIEW can max the CPU and you
screen may not be refreshing very fast.

Podcasts are all put in one folder How do I separate?

I am downloading many podcasts off of Oprah's Spirit Channel. When I click on Get Episode, it starts downloading under Itunes Store. When it is finished downloading, it moves up to the purple Podcats icon. So far, I have downloaded 3. They are all in that one Podcast folder. How do I take them out of there and put them in separate Playlists? When I sync them into my iPod, I think they will be all in one. That doesn't let me pick and choose which podcast I want to listen to.
Am I supposed to be taking them from the purple Podcasts icon and somehow move them to the Library? If so, how do I do that? I know with songs, I have to download them there first before moving them to separate playlists.

Podcasts are without video after iTunes 702 update !!

After updating to iTunes 702, my previously downloaded podcasts are not viewing any video, just the audio.
Anyone has the same problem ??

When I navigate via Music/Podcasts (or Podcasts straight off the main menu if you have your iPod configured that way), I get the audio and video podcasts and these are then played back audio-only (ie any video podcasts are played back from that menu as thought they were audio-only, which isn't a bad thing if I have my iPod in my pocket, as I guess it uses less power than generating the video which I'm not watching?).
To watch video podcasts including the video, I have to navigate through the menus via Videos/Video Podcasts, then I see only the video podcasts and any I select from there are played back audio+video.
If that isn't the case for you too, I don't have any suggestions because I don't think I am doing anything particular to make it work that way. This is with a 5.5G 80Gbyte iPod and the latest firmware and iTunes software.

How to tell which maps are the latest?

I have Maps v3.01 loaded on my 6710 Navigator (came with free worldwide licence) and Map Loader v3.0.28 on my PC.
How do I tell which maps are loaded on my Nokia and what version/date the maps availalble on Map Loader are?
Map Loader does not state which maps are already on my phone, nor does it state the date or version of the maps which can be uploaded.
Obviously, I'd like to install newer versions of my country map if and when it is available, but how do I know which version is available and which I already have?
Ovi.com does not seem to be the answer either as all maps were downloaded using Map Loader.

If you already have a free worldwide license and V 3.01 is working well for you then you are right to leave it for the moment. I hear of problems searching for addresses etc with V3.03. Can always update later when everything is sorted.
I believe if you delete all your maps and then use Ovi Suite to download new maps, Ovi Suite will at least tell you what maps you have on your phone. I haven;t tried it myself because I can't stand Ovi Suite.
Speed warning is available for Ireland but just like you I have to import the speed camera locations as landmarks. Hopefully, we will see these as new features in future updates.

Podcasts are no longer being automatically updated after hibernation mode

Heeello to you all!
I noticed that after going to hibernation mode (the motherboards suspend to disk functionality) the schedule for my podcast updates is messed up. For example now is Feb 22nd 2007, 21.14 and my iTunes says that it wants to search for new episodes on August 13th 2006, 23:57. This means that the podcasts are not being updated automatically after hibernation. How to reproduce this bug in iTunes:
1.) Start iTunes
2.) Set up: Search for new episodes hourly in Podcasts settings.
3.) Close the settings window.
4.) Leave iTunes running.
5.) Go to hibernation mode (This mode may need to be activated in the system settings: System Settings -> Engergy Options) by klicking Start -> Turn off Computer -> holding shift while clicking on Standby ("Standby" changes to "Hibernate")
6.) Turn the computer back on and have a look in the iTunes settings: In my case you find senseless time and date for the next podcast-update.
Is anyone able to reproduce this error?
And is Apple please able to fix this if this is truly a bug?

Which interface are gig on the 5510

I have 2 asa 5510 that I upgraded to security plus license. Im suppose to have 3 10/100 and 2 10/100/1000 interfaces. which one are the gig interfaces. not of the ethernet or management can be set faster then 100Mbps

Russian video podcasts are deleted after downloading

Hello,
I am using iTunes 10 and have a problem. When I subscribe to any Russian video podcast I can't download it. Actually iTunes downloads the file but it doesn't appear in the podcasts tab and it shows an exclamation mark next to it. Audio podcasts are OK. I think, the problem is related with Russian names of the podcasts.

I'm not sure where the temporary folder (that you mention) is located, but that would be standard for any download. The part completed file would be downloaded to somewhere and then possibly transferred to the correct folder (by iTunes) after the download has finished.
The important thing is the message you see -
"There is a problem with adding this podcast. This file may be corrupted or have an unsupported format"
which suggests that the file is faulty before iTunes tries downloading it or that it is in a format the will not play in iTunes or on an iPod. Since the file (Podcast) you are trying to download is not produced by iTunes or Apple, is not stored or held by iTunes or Apple and is not the responsibilty of iTunes or Apple, but is downlaoded directly from the producer's server, that's why I suggested that you contact the producer.
Even if it's every Podcast you try - contact one of them and see what happens. Even if the problem turns out to be an Apple issue; if or when the Podcast producers solve the problem, you will then know what to say to other Podcast producers when you contact them.

I just reformat my hard disk, I re-install Itunes, the latest version, I have subscribe and downloaded my favorite podcast.
I sync my Ipod nano every thing went fine but my podcast are not in my podcast directory on my ipod, I have to artist...
What can I do to fix that problem?

Feedburner ha done its usual trick of ramming a lot of extraneous code into the feed in order to be compatible with other rss readers, and for the most part it is this which is causing FeedValidator to report problems. The lack of line breaks makes the feed very difficult to read, but I would think that iTunes will simply ignore the tags which aren't aimed at it: the fact that it's been accepted suggested that you don't have a problem here.
However, searching just on the category is most unlikely to throw up your podcast. There are thousands of podcasts out there, and it would be quite impossible to display one one page the entire list for any category. What you see are 'featured' podcasts, chosen by Apple as being special; please see this Tech Note:

Note that there is no way you can influence the selection other than making your podcast really special.

These two entries appear to me to be inconsistent:
The first definition defines "image" as a real world object and does not state its relations to Aperture items.
The second entry uses the term "image" for items selected in the film strip. Here I see the interpretation that Kirby uses.
The term image (in Aperture "speak") seems to need clarification - being used for image versions and "pictures" at the same time.

How do I fix the scrolling when using my iPhone on my laptop to select which Podcasts I want to add?

When I plug my iPhone into my laptop and then click on Podcasts, it won't let me scroll to choose which Podcasts I want to add. To fix that, I click on one of the Podcasts and then it is sort of fixed, but then I can't scroll through each individual Podcast episode. I thought it was because my laptop was just old, but I now have a new one and the problem is still there. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Itunes podcasts are showing up twice

After restoring my itunes library, my podcast subscriptions are listed twice. The podcasts themselves aren't duplicated, just split between multiple subscriptions with the same name
Technically I know the reason why this is happening. It is because the podcast author at some point have changed the URL feed for their podcast. So some episodes come from an old URL location and some from the new location.
I have found similar posts from windows users that recommend using MP3 tag software to change the URL. I couldn't find a mac equivalant but I found a version that someone had converted to run on a mac. I was able to install it and change the url in the software, but it did not change it in itunes.
Any suggestions on how to get all of the podcasts under one subscription title?

You'll probably find that the Podcast's producer has changed the URL of the Podcast's location. In other words, the newer episodes are now located in a different place to the old ones. They may have been forced to change their Host (where the Podcasts are stored). I have a Podcast which has the same thing happen and as you say, all episodes, old and new are in the same folder.
You can check whether this is what has happened by, in iTunes:
Right-click the Podcast's title, (not an episode, but the main title with the arrow next to it) and choose *Show Description* which will show the *Information box* with the URL listed. Are the two different?
Podcast URLs are sometimes quite complex, so if you cannot see the difference, try this:
Right-click the Podcast's title and choose *Copy Podcast URL* and paste it into a text editor, such as Word or even Windows Notepad. Copy the other one and place it on a new line immediately underneath the first one. Are they different?
What can you do about it? Unfortunately, nothing as far as I know.

Which packages are worth a recompile?

I just discovered pacbuilder in 'Community Contributions' and now i am wondering which packages are worth a recompile to get some speed improvement.
Up to now i only read of ffmpeg will work faster with sse3 enabled.
What do you think?

I believe that the benefit is so small that the time spent compiling fairly exceeds the time you save at every run, even if you run the program for several millennia.
It's like with photovoltaic panels where the energy spent on building the panel itself exceeds the energy the panel will produce during its lifetime.
It would be more efficient if you became a software developer or an engineer only to design a faster architecture to run the program on or develop a faster program, and then retire.
Of course I'm exaggerating, but it's much more poetic this way.

I am getting a message that "my podcasts are not available at this time" Second day this has happened, i have synced phone many times. what is going on?

I am getting a message on my iphone 5 for the last two days saying that " my podcasts are not available at this time"-any ideas of what this could mean? I have synced phone many times. Is it itunes? My carrier?

I just figured out a solution. I connected my ipod to my computer, went to the 'info' tab on the menu for my ipod. I checked 'Sync Mail Accounts', which were greyed out until I selected them. That connected me to the Cloud and everything went back to normal. Hope this helps someone else!
