Speed dial access

I have a 8310 curve and I have put speed dials a-i on my phone, but how do I access them? Ex: I hit the "a" button for my hubby and then then green call button, but it says invalid because it comes up as an asterik.  Any ideas for quick access or how to even use it?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

For example if you set the N for a contact, and you want to call that person, press the N key for 3 or 4 seconds, and the device made the call.
There are 3 letters you can't use as speed dial. A, Q, W,
With the A you can lock the device
With the Q you can change the device to vibrate only
With the W you can call the voicemail.

  • SRP547W Voice User# Speed Dial Settings - Access?

How is the Voice>User>Speed Dial Settings number accessed from a phone keyboard?
Is the field in the settings page a dial plan string?
Unlike the Selective Call Forward Settings entires, this field seems to only accept a phone number or URL.
As such, I'm not sure how to access it from the phone keyboard.

    Hi Gary,
Once configured, you should just have to press n then # - where n is the speed dial index (2 - 9).

  • How to speed dial a number when accessing att voice mail

When I dial voice mail for my land line, it first asks for a password, then the phone number. Is there a way to speed dial a number like this?

    Not that I'm aware of.

  • Since upgrading to 5.0 I have not been able to access the firefox version of speed dial, what happend to this?

On 5.0, what happened to the foxdial (similar to speed dial addon)?

The player works for me in Firefox 3.6.26 on Linux, but not in current Firefox releases and in Google Chrome.
Weird. It works in Firefox 10 if I run the object code in a new tab. This also works in Google Chrome.

  • Unable to Edit Number Locked In Speed Dial Position

All my Speed Dial listings were ported over to a new 8900 from an 8300.  I also changed carriers.  Coincidentally, I had my old carrier's voice mail access number programmed into the "W" position in the Speed Dial list on the 8300.  That number is now in the "W" position on the 8900, which is the default position for the voice mail access number on the 8900.  I am unable to delete the old number so I can enter my new carrier's voice mail access number.  There is no EDIT option for that position, but the EDIT option is available for all other numbers in my Speed dial list EXCEPT the position Q, which has a default feature "Change Profile to Vibrate."  It would be nice to know how to delete that feature, too.  Can anyone help?

    There are three keys preassigned
    A Lock System
    Q Change to vibrate
    W Voicemail
You can change this ones, but if for any reason you reset the device, the preassigned keys come back
To change this go to phone, press menu, view speed dial list, go to the A (for ex), press enter, and choose the contact you want.
Remember to create a new contact called Voicemail or something like that to change the Voicemail Key.

  • ISync 'Reset Device' resetting speed dial?

Hello, I am using an aftermarket plug-in to iSync with my SE w580i, as it is not officially supported by iSync, HOWEVER, I had this issue with my SE z520 which WAS supported officially by iSync, so I suspect that the plug-in is not at fault...
I have several numbers set up to speed dial, so I can press '1' (or any other numbers) and call, instead of having to enter the full phone number. I noticed with my old phone, and now with my new phone, that if I 'Reset Devices' (thinking that only my calendars and contacts will be reset), my speed dial gets reset and I have to reprogram it. In a way, I understand, as after the reset, the phone sees all new contacts, BUT if they have the same name, why is it a problem?

The "Reset Device..." command in iSync does exactly that - so any settings you've applied in the phone to specific Contacts (such as speed dials, custom ringtones, caller ID pictures) will also get wiped.
If you think about it, you assign a speed dial to a contact. Resetting the device wipes that contact, so the speed dial setting has no contact to be assigned to.
iSync is unable to retain (or even see/access) any of the custom settings you apply to contacts in the phone, so every time to reset the device you'll have to re-apply any custom settings.
This could also apply to changes to data within a contact, because Sony Ericsson phones don't allow a Contact to be modified over Bluetooth, so iSync has to delete the contact and re-send the edited one, thereby removing any custom settings applied to that contact in the phone.

  • How do I add the second set of urls to speed dial

I have filled in all nine boxes in speed dial. I need to know how to set up second dial for second nine urls.

MAC filtering is NO security measure against anyone who wants to get into your system for malicious reasons.
That said, the MAC address list is kept in your router settings.  Type the router's IP address into a browser to access.

  • Speed dials

    Hi all experts.
I have 2 questions kindly take time to answer them
    1) All of you know, how we configure speed dials in mobile phones. We configure them on normal keypad, press the key 2 (for example) for few seconds, and the speed dial number gets dialed. Can we do the same in CUCM7.x or 8.x ?
    2) With reference to the above question, what approach should i take to find the answer on my own ?, i downloaded cucm 7.0 administration guide and feature guide, but it hasnt shown how to configure speed dials :-(, how do you guys search for a specific feature ?
    Thanks

I am going to assume by "mobile phones" you mean the 7921G or 7925G. Speed dials are a feature of that model and a referenced in the phone's documentation, not UCM. Cisco UCM has no feature called speed dials which is why you cannot find documentation on it. The closest that UCM comes is the speed dial line button type. The UCM-level features that are equivalent are :
Abbreviated dialing. You press a one- or two-digit index number representing the number you want to dial and then the AbbrDial soft key. This is a per-device setting (i.e. not global). These are configured by the user on the device using /ccmuser or the adminstrator by assigning a Speed Dial line button type to a device. If assigned to a free button it will act as a one-button speed dial. If you associate it beyond the available buttons, the index number shown to the left becomes its Abbreviated Dialing index.
Fast dials. These are Personal Address Book entries that you have configured as a fast dial through /ccmuser. They are accessed and dialed through the Personal Address Book service. These are per-user settings.
Translation patterns. Many other PBX systems have an explicit concept called Speed Dials that are globally available to all users. UCM doesn't bother with that feature because Translation Patterns can do that instead. Cisco just doesn't point this out very well. You can create a translation pattern that translates FROM anything TO anything. For example: *411 translates to +16085532447.

  • E52: speed-dial for account balance

My Service-Provider (blau.de) sends me my account balance if I call the *100#. I've done a link to speed-dial button 9.  After pressing the button 9, I get a short message that an SMS with the account balance information will be send to me. So far, so good. If I close this informational display the quick access keys do not appear. I get only a monochrome background. Neither my background image nor my quick access configuration are to be seen. Pressing the hang up key does not help. I have to press any number on the keyboard and then the hang up key. After that procedure my usual background appears again (image and quick access). If I call the *100# from contact menu everything is fine. It seems that an overlaying windows is not going to be closed by using the speed dial key. This is for me clearly a software (firmware) bug and very annoying. Formerly I used a E51 without such behavior. I updated to the newest firmware (which was a disaster) and the problem still remains.
Some statements to the firmware update. What the hell is this? I need a whole day to do this successfully. And believe me, I'm a computer scientist and I know what I'm doing. Neither NSU 2.5.4 nor Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.0.87 are working as firmware updater on Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit! Windows 7 uses Windows Media Player 12 and his mtp driver seems to be incompatible with the E52 as with many other Nokia devices. I tried Windows Vista 32 bit without success. No mtp support for my Nokia. How can this be? The only thing that worked was Windows XP with Windows Media Player 10. Believe me, we have year 2010! It is impossible to do the firmware upgrade with Windows XP in a virtual machine due to some USB reconnections. I had install a new Windows XP native on a hdd, for a simple firmware upgrade. I think this can't be true, especially when the bug still remains. When will Nokia reaches the present?
So hope you understand my frustration and try to evaluate this bug. Please don't say: go to your dealer. He can't help this is a firmware bug. My actual firmware version is 013.012. If you want I can send you a video of this behavior.

    Hello,
I had posted about this error in September itself when i bought the phone. Even after two firmware updates this is not solved.
Also i had detailed a list of bugs and posted. Even after this update, nothing has been rectified. I dont know what only Nokia is putting in 150MB.
People first want thier phones to function correctly instead of Internet radio and such stuff.
    I no longer use nokia.

  • Problem with speed dial

    Hello,
Just picked up my iPhone 5 and noticed an existing speed dial from my favorites is not working properly.
My speed dial contains a 10 digit phone number, a 10 digit access code, and a 5 digit password all separated by commas.  When activated from my favorites the phone number dials perfectly but the 10 digit access code, and a 5 digit password dials very slowly and my system does not recognize the entries.
I deleted the favorite from my contacts and re entered it with the same result. Even re installed ios 6 but no help.
This feature worked perfectly on my iphone 4.
Any ideas your help would be greatly appreciated.

    All,
Just went to a Verizon store and conducted a test. I used an iPhone 4S and a iPhone 5 both running ios 6. The 4s dialed a programmed speed dial containing an access phone number, a access number and a password. It worked flawlessly. Ran the same series of numbers on the iPhone 5 (not mine) and it failed miserably.
I hope that apple can provide a fix for us speed dialers. It's quite annoying.
    Thanks

  • Losing speed dial numbers

Is there any way to preserve speed dial numbers on a cell phone (Motorola e815) when using Bluetooth? It is a pain to have to redo this every time I sync (using iSync) the address book from my computer to my phone.
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

The problem is that Motorola phones don't know how to sync. iSync does it best (I hope) to provide "sync'ing" experience with those phones.
One consequence is whenever iSync has to change one contact on the phone, it has to delete the contact and add a new one (likely to change the speed dial) and since the protocol used to access the contacts does not expose all "information" (especially the advanced ones), you are likely to lose them when changed on the Mac.

  • ATA-187 Disable / Prevent Speed Dials

    Hi all,
I'm working with a customer that used a (star) * in there dialplan.
The issue has risen now that they have purchased quite a few ATA-187 for remote locations for analogue phones, because the (star) * is interpreted by the ATA as a local speed dial number rather than pushing the full number the call never gets to CUCM (8.5).
Any ideas or suggestions would be great,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Andrel,
The ATA-186s where great.. Ok they had a lot of problems with faxes but they are better than the ATA-187.
The section below is from the Cisco document.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cata/186_188/3_0/english/administration/guide/sccp/user.html#wp1017166
Change Your Pre-Call Service Access Code
You can use the default asterisk key (*) or the pound key (#) as the first digit in your pre-call service access code. To change this setting, use Bit 25 of the ConnectMode parameter (see the "ConnectMode" section on page 5-21).
If you download the complete guide it's on page 158 (or A2).
You can change the "pre-call service access codes" e.g. change the *1 for #1 in the speed dials.
    Regards,
    Mike.

  • Speed Dial with CME

    Hello guys,
In server based CallManager, users can go to the "servername/ccmuser address and setup their own seepdials. Is there any way that we can offer this service through CME 3.3?
    Thanks

    Thanks Sankar,
The only issue is that the CUE user page has access to the same features that an admin has and I don't want that.
I have a 7940, how many speedial can I configure for this phone? In the documentation it says up to 24 speedials. My question is where is it going to show all those 24 speedials? Would it be on the screen? or under Directory buton, Local Speed Dial?
And my last question is what is the difference between speed dial and fast dial?
Thank you for taking the time and responding,

  • 8945 speed dials while transferring calls

    Hi all,
    I've just deployed CM10.5.2.10000-5 with 8945's on SCCP894x.9-4-2-8.
All users are logged in with Extension Mobility.
When a user is transferring a call they can not get to their speed dials. I have set abbr dial as a button on the softkey template under "Off hook with Feature". the "Speed dial" button shows after the user hits the transfer key but once you press the speed dial button it just disappears.
    Anyone else see this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Michael Masterson,
could be a release bug ... there is a 9.4(2)SR1 release, Feb 11,2015.
