Speed fallen by more than 20% overnight

With Infinity1 installed the download speed has fallen away again.
After having a stable rate 20-22Mb for several months, 2 weeks ago my IP profile changed, and in now capped at 17.42Mb !
Previous visits by BT engineers performed line tests and found no errors at all, FFC etc at 20Mb, only when this was raised to 30Mb did low level of errors begin to appear.
I don't want to phone the Indian helpdesk as this will no doubt end in them following their script and booking another engineers visit .... only to find no fault ! Waste of BT's time and money, not to say my time.

When loading pages, new sites off of Google new for instance, I notice that the page takes a very long time to load while analytics load for google, facebook, advertisers, etc, in the bottom left of the screen. It seems to have gotten much much worse in the last couple of years. The pages load MUCH faster with javascript disabled. But too many other web functions require javascripting to leave it off permanently.
Would a Firefox add-on help speed things up a bit by blocking tracking/analytics? Would it disrupt too much other content/service?

It is a royal pain to use until you get it setup for all your commonly visited website - there's a steep learning curve with NoScript, but I wouldn't surf without it.

I keep a default version of Firefox installed to refer to so I don't forget what the average user has to deal with, when I am doing "support". It really irks me when web page loading is delayed while waiting for a a slow "ad server" to decide which advertisement it is going to load for me for that web page visit.

I have a problem when I configure CISCO AP 1252, it cannot support more than 54Mb/s speed but support 802.n which speed can up to 300Mb/s. See below :

The 802.11n HT rates apply only to no encryption or WPA2/AES encryption. They do not apply to WEP or WPA encryption. If WEP or TKIP encryption is used, the 1250 series access points and any 802.11n Draft 2.0 clients will not transmit at the HT rates. Legacy rates (802.11a/b/g) will be used for any clients using WEP or TKIP encryption.

40MHz Operation
If the throughput you get from a 20-MHz channel isn't enough for your speedy users, you can flip each 5-GHz 11n radio into a bonded-channel configuration.
You can configure 40-MHz operation on the 2.4-GHz radio of the 1250 Series AP, but this isn't recommended or supported. The primary reason against it is that with a wide channel in a band that has so little available spectrum (and so much interference), you make a single AP capable of higher throughput at the expense of performance for all neighboring access points-certainly not the way enterprise WLANs ought to be designed. Also, the vast majority of client chipsets (Intel's, for one) will not support 40-MHz operation in the 2.4-GHz space.

Making the Most of Things
Once you're connected at 802.11n HT rates, you'll want to make sure you don't lose the throughput gains you should be able to achieve. Not all may be within your control, but if you understand the performance implications of these variables, it will help you in baselining your WLAN capabilities.
When your laptops are unplugged, the 11n client will likely try aggressively to save battery power. Depending on client radio and chipset, it's not uncommon to see performance drop by as much as 50 percent. Unless you know how to fully disable this, keep your laptops plugged in if you want maximum performance,
Note: Even if you managed to disable this power save function, most laptop motherboards/chipsets have automated power-saving features that kick in when the laptop is unplugged. At best, these are difficult to disable. Thus, it is strongly recommended that you not do performance testing when clients are battery operated.
As detailed previously, throughput performance may vary as legacy devices are introduced into the 802.11n environment. This is to be expected, but make sure that you find a channel void of all legacy transmissions if you want to test the high-water mark of your new 11n WLAN. If that isn't possible, adjust your expectations accordingly.

As long as the profiles are different (ex. HID vs AD2P) you will not have any issues. But say if you try to use 2 keyboards at once, it won't work. Or 2 headsets at once. Your scenario seems fine.

More Than One Computer Trying to Access Web = Very Slow Download Speeds?

We have Verizon DSL with a basic Westell modem, which supposedly is only a modem with no router capabilities. We have an Airport Extreme Snow Base Station that acts as a WDS Main, with one other AEB Snow as a WDS Remote. All computers have unique ip addresses in the 10.0.1.X range as provided by the WDS Main's DHCP.
When only one computer connects to the internet to download web pages, software updates, etc., there seems to be no problem at all. When I do a speed check I get results that seem to be in the correct range, and it doesn't matter which computer I use for the test.
However, if we try to access the internet with more than one computer at the same time, everything slows to a crawl. Such as, if one computer is downloading software updates, the other CPUs have super slow web page downloads, slow to the point of connection time-outs at times. Or if two of the computers are simply trying to download web pages at the same time, one or the other has super slow downloads.
I feel like there is some kind of routing problem with the Base Station but for the life of me I cannot figure it out.
What could the problem be? Where could it originate, and what, if any, advice could someone give me to help trace the problem?

That is normal and shouldn't cause a problem. Essentially it tells the computer to ask the snow AirPort base station (ABS) for DNS information. The ABS will then provide the DNS information which it currently received from the ISP.
Would it help if I manually entered the DNS numbers that appear on the AEB on each machine's Network Preferences?
Probably not. A busy DNS server or faulty DNS info won't affect download speeds. That only affects browsing since that requires the computer to convert human readable addresses to numbers that the computer can use.
Remember that the snow ABS only operates at 802.11b (11 Mbps) speeds. Then when you use WDS it cuts your available wireless bandwidth in half.

Speeding up the footage more than 1000% but with transitions

Hey there,
I am trying to speed up the footage of a view out of an airplane window in Premiere Pro CC. I basically want to have a view over the whole landscape, let's say in a height of 300m, and then speed this view gradually up until the airplane lands, and all this within around 3-5 seconds seconds.
The first problem I have is that I seem to not be able to speed my footage up to more than 1000%. If I wanted to have a time lapse between being up in the air and landing on the runway within like 5 seconds that is definitely not enough.
The second problem is that I don't want to start the timelapse sudden, but have a transition when changing the speed. Normally, I do that with these blue little handles to get a S-curve for my speed of a certain clip. When I tried googling it considering a higher speed than 1000% someone only suggested to export the speeded clip, import it again and then speed it up again. But then there is no gradually speed up possible, it only works for the same speed over the whole clip
Summarizing these problems, I can't find a way to speed my footage up to more than 1000% without loosing the effect of a gradually S-speed-curve.
Does anyone have an advice on how to solve this problem, especially focussing on my specific clip?

You should not have to render your captured material. If the capture settings match the sequence settings (conform this by checking item properties for both) then no rendering is necessary except for effects and filters.
Offline editing (editing in low res and capturing in full res) is not a function available in FCE.

Cannot get more than 54Mbps N speed in Windows

I have a 1st-gen Airport Extreme (dual-band) Base Station, firmware 7.4.2, and a MacBook Pro, "Mid/Late 2007," 2.4GHz. I have separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz network names on the AEBS. I have a great 300Mbps connection when I am in OS X 10.6, but when I switch over to Windows 7 on the MBP, I have never been able to connect at more than 54Mbps. I have connected to my friend's 2nd-gen AEBS in Windows at 300Mbps, so I know it's not my MBP. Is there any way to fix this connection speed in Windows? Thanks for any suggestions.

I do have the Radio Channel Selection set to Automatic. Would it make a difference to specify the 5GHz channel?

Speed's more than halved

For a year or two we have had consistant speeds of around 230kbps download, which isn't exactly amazing, but it has done us fine. But since a few weeks ago the speeds have dropped to more than half of this at between 30-110kbps download.
We changed router to the home hub about 2 months ago, but after having to deal with it's problems we swapped to an older router, however this broke and so we are back on the home hub. However our speeds have significantly dropped for no reason that we are aware of.
I thought I should post here before calling BT and telling them. What can I do to bring the speed back up?
I just did a speedtest on speedtester.bt.com and got this result;

if you are regularly unplugging the leads or resetting the hub the both have the same effect in that the exchange thinks there is a line problem and increases the noise margin. The more you frequently reset the enchange ups the noise margin. The optimum noise margin for the Hub is 6. Without resets the hub will try to return to the optimum of 6 with a resulting increase in down sync. Connecting to master socket may improve your connection

VERIZON CHANGED HIGH SPEED DSL AT CENTRAL OFFICE AFTER I HAD 7.840 MBPS FOR MORE THAN 10 MONTHS!!!

AS A MATTER OF FACT, AFTER A LOT OF DISCONNECTIONS SUFFERED IN MARCH/APRIL 2012 BECAUSE VERIZON WAS DOING SOMETHING IN THEIR CENTRAL OFFICE WITHOUT TELLING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS, AND HAVING TO REPLACE ALL OF THE DSL FILTERS, AND TWO MODEMS... I GOT THE D-LINK WORKING AT 7.840 MBPS. Believe or not... That 20% does make a difference... In one of my games, I used to have 5.3 secs of response time, now it does not lower from 7.8. By the way, even my PC worked faster when I had that little higher speed... I know the changes were done without my knowledge because for a period of 2 weeks I got lot of unstability in my connection that I never got for years before... After 20 days with the first IP assigned to the new modem, the speed dropped like Verizon was running a program to levelize such an speed.
At the end, what really bothers me, is that the 7.840 Mbps was a speed agreed with Verizon, their technicians, their supervisors at the CO, and it was fully documented, and all of the sudden because an "internal change in their policies" that agreement was broken... I am currently making arrangements to have FIOS installed at home, subject to an scouting visit from Verizon to evaluate the feasibility of its installation according to my internal wiring limitations. I have to give them a try... No doubt that it would me cheaper and much faster than the high speed enhanced internet connection that I currently have. Let's wait and see...

My iPhone5 has terrible Network connection. It rarely works at the normal speed-if ever. I usually get 3G or 1x network dozens of times a day. My phone also gets pretty hot when i try to use any data for more than a few minutes.

My iPhone5 network connection has been terrible for the past week and a half. My phone is no more than a year old so I don't see why it would be a problem with the phone. When I try to use the internet or look for apps or anything like that, anything that uses data really, it takes FOREVER if it even loads! Most of the time it won't even load. My network changes from LTE(which doesn't work well) to 3G(which works even less) and then to 1x(which basically doesn't work at all). This happens dozens of times a day. It's getting quite irritating. I've tried turning my phone off and letting it sit for a while and that does nothing. I'd really prefer NOT to restore my phone. What is the deal??!

Are you broadcasting your SSID? Sometimes this can cause a problem connecting. Is this Cisco router running any turbo modes or special preparatory protocols.
There are no know issues with Wi-Fi connectivity except on first connection; and the chance of 2 devices having the exact same issue is very unlikely. This sounds like something to do with your wireless router.
Have you tried to connect to another Wi-Fi hotspot elsewhere?
Do you have any 2.4 GHz wireless phones or security system that could interfere with connection?
