Speed of Searching lots of contact lists

I would like to buy a Nokia phone 6110 N in Taiwan. However, some reasons make me hesitated.
One is the compatibility of Nokia with my MS Outlook. I depend the Outlook software deeply when arranging my Calendar and handling my thousands contact lists. I am worried the compatibility of Nokia and MS Outlook on those functions.
The second is the searching speed of contact lists in Nokia phone, specially with thousands items. Because I heard if the number of contact lists was more than one thousand, its speed would be very slow. Was it right?
Can someone kindly give me an answer?

Hello,
For your first problem, you should always check out the phone's features before purchasing. Make sure MS Outlook is compatible.
For you second problem, the more contacts you have the slower it will become when going through the contact list. This has always been an issue.

Help!!! have problem with itouch's contact list

Hi, i think many people have the same problem. I try to sync my contact list from outlook 2003 to my itouch, i found that the contact list in itouch only support a simple search and categorization of contact. I am unable to install and separate loads of contact into different groups and search them by categories, just like my PDA, witch runs the window CE platform. I can only search my long contact list by last name or first name! This is very inconvenience.
This is a huge problem to me, as I rely a proper PDA for work and I suppose I can replace my PDA by the mew itouch!
Can any help and is there better software for contact list which i can upgrade now or in the near future?

The "categories" are shown as Groups on the iPod Touch.
Groups are defined by you in the Address book (on a Mac), this is where they should be Set-Up. I cannot say if the same is true for any other address or contact client. If you select an contact to be shown as a company it will be sorted by company name. If you also define a group as "companies" all these contacts will also be grouped together.
The Search is a "string search" invoked by touching the "magnifying glass symbol" immediately above the A in the alphabet listing on the right hand side. The search box appears and the required string is entered, all results are immediately shown below the search. Touch to select the appropriate contact.

Unable to search successfully on Company field in a Contact list - SharePoint 2013 online

When searching for a company in a contact list, I get NO search results when the line items returned should be abundant.
I am using SharePoint 2013 Online with an Office 365 E3 license. I am the global administrator as well as site collection owner.
Since Company is an existing site collection column, I went to its managed property in the SharePoint Administration portal. I went to Search > Manage Search Schema > Managed properties and opened CompanyOWSTEXT in order to click the Searchable checkbox.
All items were grayed out and unable to be edited. The Searchable check box was UNCHECKED.
Why am I unable to edit that property?
How can I ensure that the Company field is crawled and can return search results?

Old contacts showing up in siri and text search results but not in contacts list.

So what I did was this. I had mobile me, and iphone ocntacts as well as contacts on phone. After updating to IOS5, i had tripples of almost all my contacts (but not all). I converted my mobile me to icloud to discover i couldnt use that email under my new official icloud accoutn as my @me.com adress. So what i did was this. I deleted my old mobile me (now icloud account) compleatly from my phone, my iPad and my computer so there is no trace of it. I then went to my new iCloud account (that i will now use as my only icloud account. going to let the old mobile me one just die so i have 1 central spot for all my stuff). Now all my contacts are gone. So to start fresh and just be done with the confusion, i go to www.icloud.com and manually (by hand) re type in all my contacts. I updated some info and changed some names (like nicknames and stuff like that to real names). Basiclly compleatly organizing my contacts and such to the way i want them. Getting rid of poeple i no longer talk to and such. I did it, it syned and all was well. However now here is hte problem.
If i go to spotlight search, or text search, or search with siri, or any type of search function, all of my old contacts are still there and viewable. All the ones i wanted to get rid of are all still there. However, if i go to contacts and look for thoes old contacts, they are not in the contact list (yes iv checked every "group" and also "all contacts" in groups). What i want is to figure out how to get all of these old contacts compleatly deleated so they dont show up anywere on my phone. Especially with siri its making searches and auto calling more difficult because its finding two contacts sometimes that are the same person and asks me to distinguish instead of jsut calling. CAn anybody help?
Sorry for the wall of text, wanted to make sure to give as much info on the specifics as possible so hopefully i can get this resolved. Is this a bug or something i did wrong? can i fix it or do i just have to wait for an update?

Iv since upgraded to iphone 4S and still happening. Also this does NOT happen on my iPad. Only my iPhone.

Talked to AppleCare for about an hour. After trying many steps: deleting contacts, re downloading from cloud, disabling Siri and re enabling, even Reset all Settings. Nothing worked. Ended up having to restore the phone via Erase All Content and Settings. That of course fixed it.
Not sure what the issue was. I did have a Mobile Me account before the iCloud migration. For some reason, my contacts would appear in Contacts on the phone and in the cloud only once, but when using Siri it would list 2 or 3 duplicate contacts. Also after we deleted all the contacts on the phone, did an iPhone reset (Home and On/off buttons), my contacts list would show empty. Then I would click on Groups and poof all of a sudden duplicate or triplicate contacts would be in the contacts list.
Very strange.

Is there a way to search contact list by keyboard

is there a way to search the contacts list with the keyboard rather than scrolling down via letters? i have like 2000 contacts and some letters are really long. would be much better if there was a search box (like that for SMS) where I could input letters via the keyboard.
does that exist? have i missed it?

Why do my recently added contacts not show up in contacts list, but show up as contacts in a global search of my iphone?

I have an iPhone 3gs
I suspect that its not just newly created contacts that don't show up in my contacts list, but contacts I added through text message or missed calls. Again, they show up as contacts when I search my iphone for their name. I have never backed up my contacts from any of my mail accounts (people said they were having problem with exchange, and I recently deleted my exchange account). I am not using MobileMe.
When I sync with iTunes, and select Sync Address Book Contacts, I have "All Contacts" selected. The option to select "Selected Groups" is grayed out.
When I look at my groups in my Contacts list App, I am viewing under "All Contacts". There are no other group options.
This is a very annoying problem has anyone officially had it solved??

You can, but it's a bit involved and requires using an app. Probably not worth it for only 5 contacts. If you're interested in how you would do this, you would do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup. (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer you will need the “Pro” version.) Use the app to back up the remaining contacts on your phone (from the other accounts) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and set this to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars…tap each of the other accounts you are syncing contacts with and turn off contacts syncing with these accounts (otherwise you will see duplicate contacts on your device).
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from the other accounts back to your device, and to iCloud.

Searching Vietnamese Name in Contact List

Hi,
I've just used BB10 (10.3.0.x) for Q10) for a week, and I have an issue about Searching Vietnamese Name in Contact List:
In BBOS, if I wanna search Vietnamese Name (ex: Đoàn), I just type "Doan"
But in BB10, I must type proper Vietnamese Name (ex: "Đoàn", not "Doan") to get the correct result.
Could you please show me how to fix this issue ?

Lync 2013 Contact Troubleshooting - Searching contacts & Adding Contacts to Contact Lists

Running into some interesting issues with a new Lync 2013 deployment that I am having some problems finding troubleshooting steps and resolution for.
Topology
Lync 2013 installed in a very straight forward single-server, standard environment.
Active Directory on Windows 2012, functional level is 2003
Exchange in the environment is 2007
Testing Lync 2013 client on Windows 8
Windows 8 computer is NOT on the domain, but is on the same LAN
Windows 8 computer Outlook account is NOT configured for that Exchange server
Currently just testing functionality of searching for users and adding them to the client contact list. After reading through countless threads, I have run the local registry update to download address book on startup of Lync client on Windows 8, run
the update-csaddressbook and update-csuserdatabase with no errors.
What I am running into is when I search for a user through the client, I get proper results showing the user i was searching for, however, they show no presence and cannot be added to the contact list, giving the error "Cannot add, remove or move contacts
or groups at this time, please try again later"
(apparently running into issues uploading images)
However, if I search for sip:[email protected], presence shows up, I can add the user to the contact list and communicate with them no problem.
What would be the next steps for troubleshooting?

Are these users newly created?If so please wait for 24 hours to have a test.
Also please check event viewer on Domain controller to check AD replication and synchronization are completed.
Besides,you can enable Lync server logging and client logging to get more specific information to see what happens to the address book service.

Iphone 4 contact list search doesn't work after upgrading to ios 7

After upgrading I can't find any of my contact list while searching, it's like I type for example 'A' and it's sais no match found

I have quite a large contact list, but in android version you cant search? just alphabetical order, you can set to "available only" but no search by name / skypename?

Сделайте пожалуйста при наборе номера в IPhone чтоб автоматом работал поиск по контактам как в приложении InesoftPhone.5.07 для других телефонов.
Или сделайте хотя бы чтобы при поиске в контактах если имя контакта "Николай" чтоб поиск срабатывал даже на совпадения внутри названия контакта независимо от регистра букв, например при поиске "ола" отображало среди найденных и контакт "Николай".
Please do when you dial in the machine worked so IPhone search for contacts in annex InesoftPhone.5.07 for other phones.
Or at least do so when searching for a contact if the contact name "Nicholas" in order to search even breakdowns in the name matches the contact-insensitive, for example when searching for "ola" displays the found contact and "Nicholas."

HT1688 my contact list is missing a lot of contacts, why?

All in a sudden my contact list is missing many names and pictures of the contacts too.

go to the contacts app and select groups at the top left corner. and select all of them and see if your contacts appear.
