Speed up Adobe Premiere Pro CC on Mavericks: OpenCL and graphics cards

Good Morning,
I would like to know if the two cards AMD FirePro D500 mounted on the brand new Mac Pro, 2013, are able to take advantage of OpenCL to speed up the Mavericks in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Not really. In the end I figured that I would just bite the bullet and future proof the graphics equation. Also the RAM is upgradeable and according to an Apple store rep I spoke to, the storage will also be upgradeable in the future. So it made sense to beef up the graphics. I decided I really did want a system that wouldn't limit the potential of playing with different creative options if at all possible. Something I have struggled with using my existing 2008 MacPro!

Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 keeps lagging and crashing

My Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 keeps lagging and crashing to a point where I cannot do my job. When I open my premiere file, I can work on my timeline for maybe two or three minutes before it lags, freezes, and then finally crashes. I'm at a loss of what exactly is causing my problem because I edit primarily H.264 files and my sequences are not complex in any sense of the word. I've been dealing with this for days and I cannot seem to find a solution. If anyone has any advice please let me know because I am desperate. Thank you.

Hi Dana,
Can you go to File-Project Settings-General and change the video renderer to Software Only Mode.
Check if that works or not.
Are you using any third party plug-in's for Premiere Pro?

Adobe Premiere Pro Issues with Maverick

Hello Apple friends, photographers, and video editors
Since I installed Maverick, I have the following issues with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6:
Why in **** did I update before waiting 6 months...
- browser window flashes on then disapears when importing new files.
- browser window sometimes shows all items gryed out when importing files.
- cannot "Link Media" by example multiple TIFF and one EDL file for subtitles. 1st time menu quickly appears then disapears, then all is greyed out.
I have a mid 2012 Macbook PRo Retina with SSD @ 50% capacity. All else is extremely fast.
All my Adobe Master Collection CS6 is up to date.

Suggest you post on the Adobe forums since it's their software you're having issues with.

Why does Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 cannot detect and install BlackMagicDesign's UltraStudio 4k?!

I have the new MAC Pro and I installed Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 few days ago.
I have the UltraStudio 4K by BlackMagicDesign connected through ThunderBolt.
BUT...
Premiere Pro CC cannot add it to the device control.

Did you install the UltraStudio Device driver before Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 or after it ?

The last section "Customize a VST effect in an options window" for a beginner working their way through the manual makes no sense. VST and how to apply it is not explained, and no explanation appears prior in the manual. To be blunt, it's just a nonsense.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6.0 Windows and Mac platforms

I'm currently working freelance at a company that has Premiere Pro CS 6.0 working on the Mac platform. I have Premiere Pro CS 5.5 at my home office working on Windows. If I upgrade my system to CS 6.0, will there be any workflow issues going from projects created in the Mac platform and then taking it and working on the Windows system, and then back again?
Also, since I'd store all footage and sequences on an external hard drive that I can plug into the Mac systems, and then bring it into my Windows system, what do I need to ensure that the workflow is seamless? Or am I "peeing in the wind"?
Please let's keep the discussion to upgrading to CS 6.0 and not engage in any discussion about going Creative Cloud.

You can google mac drive and do some study of fat32 and mac formats, and basically deal with that compatibilty thing as it relates to your OS systems...and also the drive letters and each computer being able to either cascade automatically or you assign manually ...so your paths are correct to source files, exports etc. ??? It isn't easy to swap stuff aound even with same OS, let alone different OS versions of mac and PC.. but if you check out mac drive and then talk to real people who are USING the same workflow you hope to use then you should be able to work it out. I would really yap with humans who use the workflow .. like call up some post house near you and ask them what they are doing exactly... what OS they are using for mac and pc, and so on.

I don't have any links, but I remember a past discussion where the Adobe CEO said they would be going to an annual release cycle... with a .5 (paid) upgrade between the major version upgrades
If that is still true, that means that what will come out this year will be CS6.5

How Can I transfer settings on Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to CC 2015

I had Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 with magic bullets and alot of presets, saved presets etc. but my windows crashed and i had to reinstall it all over. I have a backup of my complete drive before windows crashed
When i went to install Adobe Premere Pro CS6 again on new windows 7.. I saw CS6 is no longer. Its just CC 2014. So how can i transfer all my presets, settings from Adobe Premiee CS6 to CC 2014? which folder should i overwrite transfe

Sony HC9 Camera and Adobe Premiere Pro CS 3

I just bought a new (old stock) Sony HDR-HC9 video camera because I like tworking with tape much better than the HDD recorders on the market. I just tried to import (capture) video from the camera in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 v3.2.0 and the app does not recognize the camera! Any thoughts on how I can get this to work. Upgrading to a newer CS version is NOT an option.

Avid Unity with Adobe Premiere Pro CC and After Effects

Has anyone used Avid Unity for media with Adobe Premiere Pro CC? I'd like to hear some feedback as we are working on doing that right now, and I'd like to know what the hurdles or pitfalls might be.

If you are using a Mac, simply hit Command-Spacebar to bring up Spotlight Search. Begin typing the name of the application and when you see what you are looking for, press enter. You should get a hit by the second or third letter you type. Great way to launch apps on computers that you are not familiar with.
Windows 7 and 8 should have something similar. I think you simply press the Windows key and begin typing. Press enter when you see a match.
Both Mac and Windows search tools can be customized to search for applications, files, emails and so forth. For Windows, look for Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. For Mac, go to Preferences Spotlight. Turn off items you know you won't need to speed up searches.
