Speed up and slow down tracks

I need a program that I can speed up and slow down tracks with. Is that possible in Logic Express? I know that it can be done in Logic Pro, however I don't need quite that much program.

xcuse me if i jump in here without answering the original question, but that brings up something similar to me:
if i have a setup in the arrange with a combination of various audio-files, apple loops and midi-tracks, and i want to record something additional into that (midi over connected edirol midi-keyboard): can i slow down the whole song, just to make it easier to record the new part without destructively destroying anything?
and after that just go back to the original song-tempo?
thanx a bunch for any thoughts!
again, sorry balletboy for jumpin in here, hope that is ok for you :o)

  • GE60 fan problem. speeds up and slows down constantly [EC reset done]

    My model is GE60 OCN and bios and EC is the newest ones for win7 embeded on msi website.
    I have the same problem with others if you search here 'ge60 fan'.
    The temperature between 50~60℃ the fans runs slow and really quite.
    But if the temperature goes down under about 46℃, it speed up and slows down constantly and it is annoying and much noiser.
    I think msi should provide new EC firmware for this. Even the temperature is low, it annoys and nosier than when the temperature is between 50~60℃.
    Please check this problem and provide new EC firmware for fan policy.
    Someone has uploaded video link: youtube.com/watch?v=OQjjjVOpsEQ
    this is exact problem with me as well.

    I have exactly the same problem. Let's continue in the other thread (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165613.0)

  • Music speeds up and slows down

    In the middle of a song, the music will suddenly speed up or slow down like a vinyl record played on the wrong speed.
    I've tried reseting the iPod.
    Anyone have this happen to them?

    i am having a problem like this too. except my whole song is very fast and goes about 10% faster than it should normally, and i tried to reset my settings and changing headphones, but nothing works

  • Speeding up and slowing down still images

    I still am unable how to figure this one out. I have found a slider bar under the art/clip. I right clicked, turned on time graph, moved this points around and still see no difference in sppeding up or slowing down. I am in the right place, close? In the motion window I see Time Remap, see points have changed but am unable to move this points from here, I can move other points like scale, rotate. In Time Remap I see a speed section but this is greyed out at constant speed.
    I want to be able to have a still begin or end with a speed up or slow down as I pan or zoom.
    Any suggestions?

  • Speed up and slow down music

    Hi, I listen to a lot of lectures and I like to practice my karaoke, so it helps to be able to slow down the audio files. Windows Media Player 10 and 11 have this function built into the player but I can't find in Quicktime and I didn't see it mentioned in Quicktime Pro. Am I missing it? Can you recommend a player that will slow down/speed up my audio files?
    Thanks,

    Is there a way to Export the song file at the slowed down speed? I've tried and the saved file continues to play at normal speed.

  • Really stuck with speeding up and slowing down clips

    Hi gang,
    I have been reading the Final Cut manual for the last hour and fooling around with my clips, but I can't get the effect that I want.
    I have a clip (CGI of a star field moving towards the observer) that I want initially to be frozen, then I want the clip to accelerate rapidly, and then end at about double normal speed. I thought I would be able to use keyframes and specify the playback rate at given points, but that option doesn't seem to exist. I have been playing with variable and constant speed settings, but these don't seem to work either.
    Ideally, the clip would go like this:
    1) first frame of original footage is frozen for 2 seconds.
    2) the original footage then begins playing, accelerating rapidly from frozen to double speed over 2 seconds.
    3) remainder of original footage plays at double speed until complete.
    I feel like I am missing something obvious, but I can't get it to work!
    Any suggestions appreciated.
    Cheers!

    Dude, I have the same problem. I found a picture/text tutorial on how to slow down, speed up and reverse all in one clip w/o chopping it up, but it was for FCP 4. I have 5 and when I ramp the green line down it speeds up, doesn't slow down. Is it just me or is the effect changed from FC4 to FC5.
    I'm looking for a great video tutorial for FC5 or similar on how to slow, speed up and reverse a clip using the Time Remap Tool in FC.
    If it's a DVD I have to buy so be it.
    Thanks everyone.

  • Speeding up and slowing down the same clip

    Hi all,
    Quite new to editing so sorry if this is a basic question but I have a single clip I want to speed up for a few seconds and then slow it right down or pause it even before letting it run at normal speed.
    How can I do this in FCPX without cutting the clip up?
    Thx

    use the range tool to select a portion of the clip and then press command-r. Now you can apply retiming to just that range.

  • INTERMITTENT SPEED UP AND SLOW DOWN ON SAFARI URL

    First, I apologize if this question has already been asked (answered), but I'm not about to spend the time to read 541 pagest to find out.
    My basic question has to do with the inordinate length of time it takes to download (if that's the proper term) a URL in Safari 2.0.3, whether it is entered from an e-mail link, Safari Menue Bar, "Bookmarks", or directly typed in and started using "return" on the keyboard. Once, for a short while, it was a lot faster.
    Things I've done and not done that may be of help to those interested in replying to my question (please bear in mind that, comparatively speaking, I am computer illiterate):
    I have not emptied Safari cache in quite some time.
    I have employed the application Safari Speed 1.3.
    I have used the Utility application Disk Warrior (on the average of once a month, for the last nine months).
    I have emptied download cache, user caches, and font caches using Onyx utility application; also, (on same utility) "Repair Permission", "Maintenance Scripts, and "Optomize the System."
    I regularly use the OS X "Disk Utility" repair permissions before and after downloads, and, as a matter of maintenance, monthly, from the OX X 10.4 installation disk.
    I have kept up with all the OS X updates, including a combo of the latest (10.4.5).
    Is there anything I can do (or shouldn't do) to speed up Safari opening a Website?

    Thanks DKR.
    Unfortunately, none of the other Mac owners I know use the same server (they all go the cheap freebie route, which is terrible). Nor do I have an extra computer to test on.
    But you give me the idea of contacting the server; it, fortunatly,is a very consciencous local outfit, and while naturally far more familiar with PC's, its technicians have always seemed eager to help we poor Macites.
    What really bugs me (no pun intended) is the apparent variations with the same URLs (time of day doesn't seem to matter).
    Interestingly enough, also, is the fact that the "Speed Safari" application seems to have no effect whatsoever.
    Thanks again for the ideas.

  • HELP! Fans speeding up and slow down

    What is happening?
    The fans on my Power Mac G5 are sppeding up for short periods of time and then they go back to low speed but it's happening almost every minute or so.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance.
    Ah! and I apologize for my english.

    Check for dust buildup on the CPU cooling fins and fans. You can use a can of compressed air (the ones for electronics work well) to get some of the dust off. Just be careful to keep the cans upright, or else liquid can come out of them.
    Otherwise, try setting the Processor Performance setting to 'Highest' in the Energy Saver preference pane. This will cause the fans to run at a higher speed, but their speed won't fluctuate as much.

  • Time mapping in Logic?  Want to speed up\slow down track.

    I've used time-mapping in Final Cut. But never in Logic. I've got a LOT of slowing-down \ speeding-up to do on a score that will be mostly midi \ sample instrument based.
    Could someone point me to whatever it is called in Logic?, and are there choices of how to do it? Complex vs. easy? I vaguely remember finding it tricky in Logic to create a click-track 'after-the-fact' to match a piece of audio.
    All ears,
    Ben

    Hi Erik,
    I've got a Bach piece I've midi'd, written in rather than played (it would take me days to learn to perform it decently). There are no dynamics in the piece.
    I want to add the dynamics. Volume\velocity is easy. But I also want to start the performance slow, speed up, then slow down.
    If there is any 'real' audio I will add it after, so that's not an issue, I'll just follow the scored track.
    What I need is the easiest way to control the speed of the performance ... speeding up, slowing down incrementally (rather than just abruptly changing the tempo). I remember the 'beat-mapping' now, as something you do after you've recorded a live-audio piece. I also remember it being really tricky to work with.

  • Making video start fast and slow down?

    I am trying to avoid doing this in FCP because I know speed changed video can be jumpy...
    Basically I have video that pans and I want to start fast, lets say 600% speed and slow down just at the end to 100%.
    I know that in motion it doesn't work with percentages, so how's the best way to go about this. I tried variable speed, but It starts slow then speeds up...
    Also, I would like to add a motion blur, is this achieved with activating motion blur in the render tab?
    Thanks

    Well, I had a bunch of videos that I overlaid with mattes to make it look like one continuous video... But the resulting video was 30 seconds and I needed it to be 5 seconds..
    So I exported a QT movie and re-imported it into Motion. Then I just went to the Timing property and changed the speed to variable. This gave me a key frame at the beginning and end of the clip. So I just dragged the keyframe at the end to 150th frame (for 5 seconds).
    But since I wanted to slow down the video just a tad at various points, I added a key frame to each area I wanted to slow. I then went into the Keyframe editor and made the interpolation to bezier, then just rotated the bezier to be horizontal. This slowed the video just a tad in each part.
    I also changed the frame blending to motion blur blending.
    Pretty straight forward once I got the hang of it.

  • Lion stalling and slowing down

    Dead LION
    Two-three months ago I upgraded to Lion (10.7.4)
    The Lion discriminates a lot of applications
    I should never have done that. Waste of money and especially a waste of my time.
    There are NO essential news in Lion. It's just a monymaker for Apple
    A bunch of applications does not work in Lion, while they been working fine in Snowleopard.
    I could not delete the Lion and re-install SnowLeopard. (With out deleting all my datas).
    I had to install SnowLeopard on a seperate external harddrive and now have to organize and disintegrate my else integrated work on two harddrives.
    What a f'''''' bore. And absolute no thanks to Apple.
    The Lion is stalling and slowing down, quits applications etc.
    Since I installed the Lion on my computer (MacBook Pro 2 Ghz Intel core i7. 4 GB 1333 Hz DDR3)
    is has been slowing down, in general and especially my browsers (Safari 5.1.7) (Google Chrome 13.0782.215) (Firefox 13.0.1). And Mail (5.2).
    The OS quits applications, especially Mail and Safari.
    The OS makes applications ever so often go in no-answer mode . Then I have to forcefully end them and start all over.
    For speed and comfort I am back to 1991 Apple LC with 2 MB RAM. And no, the comfort was better then.
    I have repaired disk with the OS own disktool.
    I have reparied permissions again and again.
    I have scanned for all problems and virus (MacKeeper).
    I have rebooted and set the parametres to zero.
    All applications are updated
    Nothing helps.
    I hope some of you friendly users or nerds can help. Thank you.
    Best wisges Jan Knus

    Sounds like a failed HD. Get another HD, install it, reinstall the OS, upgrade to Lion, and then restore the TM backup.

  • How to speed up or slow down music tempo?

    hi all, I am hoping someone could do me a favor like telling me how to adjust music tempo by java...I mean how to speed up or slow down music tempo by Java programming?
    Thx a lot :-)

    Actually, I want to change the speed of songs with formats like .wav and mp3. But I can't find the correct way to do that, and even it seems not to play all kinds of .wav music when I use the code as below. Sometimes when I play some other .wav music ,it just generates some fuzzy sounds.
    import java.io.FileInputStream;
    import sun.audio.AudioStream;
    import sun.audio.AudioPlayer;
    public class Main {
    public Main() throws Exception {
    FileInputStream fileInputStream = new FileInputStream("C:\\WINDOWS\\Media\\tada.wav");
    AudioStream audioStream = new AudioStream(fileInputStream);
    AudioPlayer.player.start(audioStream);
    Thread.sleep(5000);
    fileInputStream = new FileInputStream("C:\\WINDOWS\\Media\\tada.wav");
    audioStream = new AudioStream(fileInputStream);
    AudioPlayer.player.start(audioStream);
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
         new Main();
    }
