Speedgrade and the Cinema DNG from Magic Lantern

Hi guys !
I was really thrilled yesterday when i saw that speedgrade CC 2014 can now read the Cinema DNG files from 5D Mark III & Magic Lantern... But i did a few tests today and would like to know what you're thinking of these : I just did a few tests with Speedgrade CC 2014 and i think there is still a decoding problem in it

Any idea why ? The white balance is wrong and i can't correct it... The highlights seems to be wrong too...

Also you could create a .look which white balance the cDNG, or try the Ikonoskope A-Cam matrix presets. That's into Timeline - Color Space Default.

Macbook and the Cinema display

Hi,
I'm about to purchase a Cinema display for my Macbook, before doing so I have several questions.
In the Apple store at the Cinema display section there is told that the Apple displays are specially designed for the Mac Pro and Macbook pro's. I wonder if the displays work in the same way with my Macbook. I know that I need a Mini DVI to DVI cable. My question is if there are any disadvantages compared to the pro products. And I wonder if there are any users with experience related to the Macbook and the Cinema display.

I have a first gen macbook and a 23" cinema display. I can't compare directly to the pro products but, I am very happy with the display and how it works with my laptop. I get full resolution and a firebox/USB hub. It's pretty sweet. I would tell you that if you are about to buy a display I would hold off for the leopard anouncement, the rumor is apple will replace the current display line up.

As Dah•veed said, you can delete an app on one divice, and still have it stay on another. The syncing only applies for downloaing apps when you have "Sync Purchases" enabled for the App Store. This goes for the iTunes, iBooks, and Podcasts apps as well.

No early version of iPhoto can open a Library from a later version.
You can try revert the Library with iPhoto Library Manager

Hi, I'm having the same problem as well. It shuts off after reaching 20-30% and asks for recharge, then after 5 minutes I can turn it back on, but it keeps shuting off unexpectedly
Bad thing is that my warranty expired 130 days ago. Apple doesn't want cover a new battery replacement (and it costs $400 here in Brazil)
Clearly it's a manufacturer malfunctioning.
How did you proceed with it? Did you solve this problem? I have an Iphone 5 with iOS 7.1

The behavior of those buttons (and other key shortcuts) can be set/changed in System Preferences->Keyboard:Keyboard Shortcuts button.
If you are missing the power button shutdown option from Mavericks OS 10.9x the workaround is control-power button or hold the power button down longer that poking (sleep) but not as long as force shutdown (crash).

Many users have lost photos while preforming a restore from backup or upgrading the iOS. Recall, only photos in the camera roll are backed up to iCloud. There is a way to turn backups for camera roll on/off, perhaps these users had camera roll turned off.
Although the current devices don't have the photos, the following is advice for the future:
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage, tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream. If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered. I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure".

X-Fi Titanium PCI-E and the front panel from my case

The plug from my frontpanel fit onto the soundcard, but when I plug in a headset I can't hear anything. I can hear sound on the left side of my headset when I plug it in only half the way.
My Case: Tronje H-650B
What makes me thinking is the fact that I can hear sound, but only on the left side of my headset and only when the plug is only the half way in.

However, the headset is not detected (neither in nor out). Looking at the pinout I noticed that my connector has the correct pins for the signal, but lacks the following wires (completely missing):

I take it these are required to make the card detect the devices. Is there a way to circumvent this?
Also, the manual gives a confusing description:
"Intel HD Front Panel Audio standard only.
Not compatible with AC97 or Intel-compatible HD Front Panel Audio"
So it is compliant with Intel, but also not compatible with Intel? Or is there a difference between "Intel" and "Intel-compatible"? This makes no sense...

Difference in a string and the text retrieved from JTextBox

I am facing a peculiar problem. Please see the following code fragment:
m.replaceAll(";\ngo;);
where m is a matcher. This is working fine. But whenever I am doing
m.replaceAll(myTextBox.getText());
and placing ";\ngo;" in the text Field is not working as before. This is because that getText() returns a string in text form(doesnot take the newline into consideration). Any idea how to solve this?

What I intend to do is that the user will provide a fileName from the GUI and also the text to find and the text to repalce with. Both of them will be in a JTextBox. Now
suppose I want to replace ";" in the line "Hello;" with ";\nHow are u?" so that the line looks like
"Hello;
How are u?"
But what is happening is that the line looks like
"Hello;\nHow are u?" after replacement.
This happens because getText() doesnot considers that as a special character...
I tried to harcode the replace string and it worked perfectly....
Thats the problem.....I need the same behaviour with getText().

I shared my imovie in media browser and the project disappeared from my computer...any ideas of where it might be? I've searched everything.

I created a 30 min video in imovie and then clicked share in media browser....
I went to go find it and the raw footage is in imovie, but the project is GONE.
Nowhere to be found, not idvd not imovie, only some crypric .
I can't even find media browser on my computer even though when I go to
download media browser, my computer tells me I already have it!!!
Where oh where has my imovie gone?

What do you mean by raw footage when you say "I went to go find it and the raw footage is in imovie, but the project is GONE." Can you open your working movie in IMovie Edit Project window? Does it show to the left of the file name in the Project library or Share/Media Browser drop-down box that it has processed the movie?
my processed movies are listed in the iMovie Projects folder as Movies/iMovie Projects.localized. Using this file, the drag and drop worked for me so I was able to burn the movie on iDVD. However, shared iMovie projects are still not recognized by iDVD. An old project has disappeared and the new one does not appear in iDVD in the Media pane as it should. I checked the preferences, and directed it to look in the iMovies Project folder. I am currently sharing with iTunes and when I open IDVD the medium shared movie is there as should be. Hummm. Why not the large shared movies showing in IDVD?
You probably have tried several things already but: open your "more info" box for the movie file if you can, and there the extension shows .rcproject and make sure you are checked to open with iMovie.
Check your iDVD preferences. Make sure it is looking in the right place for your movie files. It automatically checks in "Movie" folder but you can also ADD by directing it to your iMovie Project file specifically. You could go into your Home Library and dump your preferences then reopen IMovie and see if it helps (don't trash your preference until you reopen IMovie and see it is working okay) but this did nothing to help me.
In iMovie, try removing your movie from Media Browser and reprocessing it. You might send it to iTunes and see if it shows correctly there.
I will keep at this as there appears to be a bug with the processing of large movies and IDVD recognizing them as previously. It is just not finding shared movies.

JNI Problem - JAVA invoke C++ and the way back from C++ to JAVA

I am a computer science student and I have a problem with the JNI Interface.
First the program structure:
We have a Java GUI a wrapper and a C++ protocol. That is the general communication way:

The program sequence is following:
- The GUI will be started and call a protocol init method in the native code. The JAVA and C++ instance are already running!!
- The protocol handles some information.
- Then the left side e.g. invoke a method. The protocol transmits the packet to the other side. But HERE is the problem. On the other side the protocol must call a static JAVA Method from the running JAVA instance.
I have no idea how I can handle this problem. I tried to save the env pointer und the jobject at the first invocation from Java to C++. With this elements I tried to getObjectClass(saved jobject) and tried to invoke the static JAVA method but I got a SIGSEGV from the JVM.
How can I solve this problem??
By the way, I generate through the java wrapper my C++ header and the the Java wrapper load a shared object!
I work with a Gentoo System and with Java 1.5.
I hope anybody can help me!

You mean the communication is aschronous?
Then the C++ side will have a C++ thread. That thread calls a method. That method FIRST uses the JNI method to attache the thread.
Then you look up whatever you need in java, maybe a class and you call JNI methods to interact with it.
If you don't attach the thread it will not work.
