Speedgrade CC trail premiere pro CS6/ CC

I've just tried speedgrade CC.
export from premiere CC doesn't work (ghosted out) and CS6 is really slow (unusably so).
Also Speedgrade CC wont open either CS6 or CC premiere projects
I understand that the CCs need to be equivalent versions which I presume they are as I have just downloaded the trials
Any help is much appreciated.

Some basic info is needed to help ... such as the specific versions of each program. Note, 7.2 is NOT the same as 7.2.2, for example.
Next, some basic info on your machine specs, including but not limited to OS, RAM, disc setup, video card & vRAM, and probably type of footage/codec/wrapper.
Note, the programs have to be installed one at a time, not like I tried once, just going down the list of the CC box and clicking install on a bunch of things. No. I had to go in and delete ALL of those programs, run the CC Cleaner App from Adobe, THEN re-install one at a time. If two installs are happening simultaneously, they will never recognize each other.
If all of the above are met, there can be "administrator" permission issues, especially with the newer Mac OS's. Occasionally with Win8 also. Now, if all of the above are aligned ...
By "Export from premiere" did you mean the "Send direct to Speedgrade" menu option? If so, note ... you need to have an active timeline, and I've found ... normally ... you need to have your timeline panel be highlighted when you go to the menu to send-to-Sg. With the yellow ring around it, highlighted, as you've clicked in that panel just before going to the menu system.
May seem a hassle to get it going first time, but after that ... it can be a sweet life. For many of us ...   ;-)

  • Slow motion and trailing in premiere pro cs6

attached is a sample of a clip edited years ago with liquid edition.
In liquid edition  "timewarp editor" you could create slow motion together with trailing effect as it shows in the attached clip.
I wonder if it can be done in premiere pro cs6
    thanks arikw

Well, you could do it manually if you wanted to. Just pile up a few tracks of the same clip and offset each one by a frame or two from the others. Then set the opacity to something low, like 25%, and see how that looks.
There may be an effect for it that I just am not familiar with.

  • How do I open Premiere Pro CS6 after install

i keep trying to open the trail version of Premiere Pro CS6 ...it says that it's been installed but when i try to open it it just tries to reinstall it again ...HELP . Mac OS Snow L

It seems that you're running the installer again.
If the install is successful, it would have created the application directory and files. Look inside /Applications/Adobe/... to launch the software from there.

  • Is Encore part of Premiere Pro CS6

Is Encore part of Premiere Pro CS6 in the FULL Creative Cloud plan? I asked this in "Live Chat" with an Adobe rep and at first he said no. Then he said yes if I bought the single app plan but not in the full plan. HUH? In the full plan he said it was a 30 day trail. HUH again? Finally he said yes it is but not sure if he just said that to get rid of me.

Yes, Encore is included with Creative Cloud membership, provided you're running a 64 bit system.
    It's listed here

It's installed (64 bit systems only) when you install Premiere Pro from the Cloud

  • Why Do I get Choppy Playback in Premiere Pro CS6

Before upgrading from CS5.5 to CS6 I wiped my computer and started from scratch. When editing 4 angles in CS5.5 I never had any problems with playback... even after adding titles, effects..
In CS6 I have my 4 files set into a multicam sequence but when I play back and start cutting from cam to cam it gets choppy.
    I am running:
    Windows 7 64bit
On a Dell Studio XPS 9100
    Intel Core i7 930 @ 2.80GHz
    12.0 GB Ram
    ATI Radeon HD 5800
I have my memory preferences in PR set to 12 GB Installed, Ram for other aps = 3 Ram fpr PR 9GB, and it set to performance
Any help to speed up and render this proper would be great, Still have to add color correction, titles, logo.

The 1st update came out today. Downloading now. Looks like it should fix my old problems... fingers crossed
What's new in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 6.0.1:
    May 26th, 2012
Features added or changed in this update:
    · Improved performance using OpenCL, especially when used on Mac OSX v10.7.4 or later.
    · Added encoding presets with additional bit-rate settings for XDCAM HD.
    · Added Automatic Peak File Generation preference in the Audio category for turning off automatic peak file generation for imported audio. By default, this preference is enabled and matches the behavior of Premiere Pro CS6 (6.0.0).
    · When this preference is disabled, importing audio or opening projects will not cause peak files to be generated. If peak files were already generated, then waveforms will be visible. Files imported before the preference was disabled will continue to generate peak files.
    · Enabled “smart rendering” and added Enable Smart Rendering Codec setting to the Video tab of the MXF OP1a exporters for XDCAM HD and XDCAM EX to enable or disable smart rendering for these formats. This option defaults to the off/disabled state. We’ll have more information about this feature in a post on this blog within a day.
    Bugs fixed in this update:
    · Start timecode was not imported or exported correctly when working with AAF files.
    · Some files from the Canon 5D Mark III camera were imported with the wrong timecode.
    · Playing/viewing waveforms in the Source Monitor caused audio dropouts with some XDCAM HD clips.
    · NTSC MXF OP1a files that were exported with drop-frame timecode had video data that was tagged as non-drop-frame.
    · Switching the Renderer project setting from Mercury Playback Engine Software Only to Mercury Playback Acceleration GPU Acceleration on a computer using OpenCL caused Premiere Pro to crash under some circumstances. Switching between the two settings on a computer using CUDA would in some cases cause problems with video and/or audio playback.
    · Crash when using full-screen, cinema mode on some computer systems.
    · Tape capture was not working correctly with some third-party systems.
    · Crash when capturing from tape using some BlackMagic hardware.
    · An extra, black frame was included at the end of the output when exporting to P2 MXF in some circumstances.
    · First two frames were being played twice on external monitor using Matrox MXO2.
    · Crash when using “hover scrub” with Matrox MXO2.
    · Audio/video synchronization was off by a few frames when playing video on external monitor.
    · The Export Frame button was not exporting the correct frame, instead exporting a frame one or two frames away from the current frame.
    · Some audio files and some MXF files would go offline or have their audio reconformed when the project was re-opened or when Premiere Pro was minimized or lost focus.
    · Crash when modifying an effect property while playback was occurring.
    · Hang/freeze when using a dissolve transition on an adjustment layer.
    · Dropped frames and audio/video synchronization issues when exporting to tape using some third-party hardware.
    · Information about dropped frames on output to tape was not accessible to third-party systems.
    · Some QuickTime files were imported with the wrong field order.
    · When audio was sent through a Mercury Transmit plug-in, any number of channels that was not 2 or 6 was treated as mono.
    · In HDV editing mode, File > Export > Tape could not be used with third-party hardware.
    · The current-time indicator (playhead) was not returning to the current time after using the Play Around command.
    · Last several frames of output when exporting to tape were black.
    · When encoding a 23.976 fps video to H.264, the duration of the video in the output .m4v file was too short, and audio drifted out of synchronization with the video.
    · Transparency (alpha channel) information from a dynamically linked After Effects composition was rendered incorrectly in Premiere Pro.
    · Importing some QuickTime OP1a files caused Premiere Pro to hang.
    · The duration of the audio track sent to SpeedGrade using the Send To SpeedGrade command was the length of the entire Premiere Pro sequence, not the length of the work area.
    · Timecode written to trimmed clips using the Project Manager did not match the source timecode for some QuickTime files.
    · Various other crashes.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 to DaVinci Resolve Workflow

In his article at the link below, Walter Bicardi notes that because of errors generated when he attempted to export an EDL from Premiere Pro CS6 for import into Resolve, the EDL kept causing Resolve to crash and he had to send a flattened file of his timeline to Resolve and then use Resolves auto-scene detect feature to chop up the flattened file. He then sent a flattened file back to PP CS6.
    http://www.biscardicreative.com/blog/2012/07/continuing-tales-of-an-fcp-switcher-cs6-workf low-for-now/
Is this the only way to send a project to Resolve from PP CS6? Is it possible to use XML, AAF, or EDL export to send the timeline to Resolve, or does this feature of PP simply not work the way it is supposed to? Or is the problem with Resolve?
Any information on how to export the timeline to Resolve without resorting to a flattened file would be greatly appreciated. The flattened file approach would work to a degree, but it is not really an adequate workflow in this day and age.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

I have been giving DaVinci Resolve 9 (Lite) a trial run this week.
So far, I have noticed it handles FCP-style XMLs better than EDLs. As long as you strip out any APP-based effects (Warp Stabiliser etc), and any Dynamic Links (AFX) it seems to handle general dissolves/levels just fine. I haven't tried it with mixed codecs yet (I've tried H264, XDCAM, ProRes and DPX so far). One potential work around, if you want to convert your entire timeline to DPX and not use Scene Detect, is click 'Send to Speedgrade'. It generates labelled bins with DPX sequences for all your clips. If it's short-form but high quality (say an ad for broadcast), you can swap the files around in the Conform room in DaVinci.
I noticed a few bumps with the EDLs, namely the timecodes not syncing up properly. This might be due to the footage (the project I tried had been shot on a 5D). Hence using the XMLs instead.

  • Importing graded footage back to Premiere Pro CS6

I am trying to color correct/grade my clips. I sent it to Speedgrade through Premiere Pro (CS6) but after rendering it out as a DPX, and trying to send it back to Premiere Pro (DPX as image sequence), not all graded clips were there. (Clip is 4:40 min) but only 1:39 min is what was imported back to Premiere Pro.

I've found on occasion that I've tried to export and didn't catch that the export dialog thought I was only trying to export something highlighted or had another setting for "area selected". I would guess you've run afoul of something similar ... or a box that was checked you might not even realize was there. As I just found trying to (for the first time in a year) export an EDL from PrPro to Sg. I had to puzzle out something like three different places the two programs were trying to help me before I could get the blasted EDL and footage both imported to the same Sg timeline.
As an alternative to DPX there is of course two different EDL processes ... one where you simply export an EDL and then after creating your Sg project, navigate to that through Sg's Media panel, drag it to the timeline, then using the Media Panel navigate to the folder containing your clips, then use the "load from desktop" option to populate your timeline.
The other ... you export both the EDL and the sequence from timeline, and then put one on the new Sg project timeline, drag the other on top. It takes a bit longer to do the export from PrPro of the footage which is probably not needed most of the time.
I've just put up on the forum an explanation of how to do this with progressive footage and avoid the hiccups the two programs can throw at you. The first one ... if all your media is in a single folder-tree ... is very quick & easy. That EDL export is nearly instantaneous, and the clips load over it just bango ... now, I used to have problems at times exporting (rendering) a timeline out of Sg. I don't know if an EDL process can work sending grading back to PrPro, I think you'd have to render out. But many people did that all the time without problems.

  • Red Rocket and Premiere Pro CS6

So what I want to know is what exactly does the Red Rocket add to Premiere Pro CS6? I have one installed in my Mac Pro and have found similiar performance with it off and on in terms of playback and rendering. I found this post from Adobe employee Will Renczes in another thread:
To the OP:  I think you need to unravel the complexity.  You should also be able to get 4K RED files playing back @ 1/4 res without a Rocket - the only thing the Rocket brings to the table is realtime debayering @ full res.  There's plenty of people editing 4K footage on macbooks @ 1/4 res...
Is that really the only advantage to this $5000 card in Premiere? I won't see any increase in performance unless the playback resolution is set to full? I just tried a test and my computer definately lags playing it back in full res without the RR, but it still stutters a bit even with the RR activated. I guess I wish it helped the playback at lower resolutions, as well as during the export process.
Do any other Adobe CS6 apps make use of it better (Speedgrade perhaps)? If this card really isn't doing all that much, might just try to sell it. Darn you Adobe for being able to edit RED footage without a crazy expensive card!
    -sam

Look at the preview resolution for your Red Timeline in Adobe. If you want to play 4K and 5K out to a monitoring solution able to handle that via Redcine-X then the Red Rocket is the way to go right now. If your transcoding red files constantly via Redcine-X then it also speeds that up. This is the case atleast till you start seeing HDMi 1.4 monitors that support 4K res.

  • Why is Premiere Pro CS6 (perpetual) reverting to Trial Mode?

I purchase 11 copies of Premiere Pro CS6 over a year ago. This is not a subscription!
I have had to "re-license" these copies for the third time as they continue to revert to trail mode.
This is accomplished by signing into my adobe account.
    This is very annoying......
Can anyone explain why this is happening?

  • CC wont let me re-download premiere pro CS6! HELP!!

    Hello all,
So i previously had all of the CS6 Family installed on my computer. Something went wrong with Adobe Encore and it wouldnt open so i uninstalled Premiere Pro and Encore CS6.
After un-installing i restarted my computer and opened Creative Cloud.
When looking in the find new apps section to re-download Premiere Pro CS6 i could not find it. I filtered the search and selected previous versions but the only apps it says it has in previous versions in are Bridge, Edge Animate and Gaming SDK.
I checked in the my apps section to double check it was definitely un-installed. I can see Premiere Pro CC but CS6 is not showing up anywhere!
Ive tried looking for other links on the adobe website but it just gives me the option to buy a subscription (which i have already payed for) or download the trial.
Ive looked endlessly on forums for a solution but no joy so far.
I desperately need to get to the bottom of this as i need Adobe Encore for work.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

    Hi,
Please uninstall your creative cloud desktop app and re-download it from the below link:-

  • Premiere Pro CS6 - Project frame won't retain its layout or location between opening and closing?

I filed this as a bug, but perhaps I'm thinking through this wrong and would like to seek help.
I'm finding that the Project frame in Premiere Pro CS6 does not retain its layout between opening and closings.
    Here's what I do:
    1) Open a project.
    2) Create several bins and populate them with media. Expand the contents of a bin by clicking the disclosure triangle to the left of the folder.
    3) Undock the Project frame only.
    4) Close the Project frame with Command-W
    5) Use ****-1 to reopen the Project frame.
Repeat steps 4 and 5. The result is that the Project frame does not remember which bin was open. Furstratingly, it also does not retain which bins were expanded or collapsed.
And worst of all, it will also open in random areas of the screen. (The expected result is that it would reopen in the same spot of the desktop where you last closed it, no?)
I'm a big organizer -- tons of footage across many different bins. I open bins, close them, keep some open, close others... easily dozens or hundreds of times during an edit session. I'm beginnging to feel like I'm swatting flies or playing whack-a-mole just to get my bin views correct!
Or mm I approaching this wrong?

But really, the real solution for me was to not update Premiere Pro CS6 after a reinstall. The most recent updates just do not like my computer, I guess.
Figured I should post this solution here in case anyone in the future has this problem. (relevant: xkcd: Wisdom of the Ancients)

  • How can I re touch the model in Premiere PRO CS6?

    Hello !
I am using Premiere Pro CS6. We are shooting a documentary where i have the host who some pimples, moles etc.
So How can i retouch it and make perfect ?

    Welcome to the forum.
One possible treatment, within PrPro would be to do a Track Matte Key, where a little bit of Blur is added. Once, there was a great tutorial on softening blemishes in skin tone, but it is no longer.
This article covers some of the high-points of the process. The success, and handwork, will depend on how much the host moves about: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4575874#4575874
Because so much can be Keyframed, and limited via Track Matte Keying, one is limited only by their imagination. I would first Duplicate the Clip, add a bit of Blur to that Duplicate, then limit that Blur to just the facial areas with a Track Matte.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - Beyond that, there are some neat tools in After Effects, that go beyond.

  • Premiere Pro cs6 - Workspace video pane remains blank when trying to view imported files

    Hello,
I'm currently working in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. When I import my media into my workspace and drag it onto the timeline, the preview box where you can review your cut video remains black. Double clicking on the imported file gives the same result. I was initially importing .jpg files (about 300kb size for each) so I tried importing various other image formats - .png, .tiff, etc... I have even imported a movie file into my scene to determine whether the issue was with my content format. With the video, the audio plays fine, but the video remains blank in the preview box. I have tried rendering my workspace and changing my initial project settings, but to no avail. I went into my preferences for Premiere and from what I can determine, everything looks fine.
I'm running the software on an HP Pavilion, Windows 7 intel i7, 8gb ram, with a nvidia 650M 2GB card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,
Have you tried to change your Video Renderer? It would be under Project > Project Settings > General. Switch the option to Mercury Playback Engine software only and see if it helps.
    Thanks,

  • Premiere Pro CS6 serious error has occurred, crash troubleshooting

ERROR MESSAGE: Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project
Problem: Starting last night Premiere would crash with this error message. This has been happening increasingly more over the past couple weeks, but starting last night and today - it has happened so much that I cannot get more than 5 minutes of work done without it crashing. It has happened on saves, renders, playback, switching active timelines, removing the mojo effect from a clip, and while sitting dormant. I’ve had the computer less than a year and hope that it is not a serious problem with my RAM or graphics card.
Using Premiere Pro CS6 - subscription based with latest update installed
    SPECS:
    MacBook Pro Retina, Mid 2012
Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M 1024 MB
Software: OS X 10.9.1 (updated after problem started)
(nothing external from factory setup in terms of hardware)
Use an External USB 3.0 7200 RPM drive from OWC for project files
Use an External Seagate 3 TB drive for media storage
Using all DSLR footage from Canon 6D, Canon 5D mk II, and Canon 60D and audio from external recorders (.mov, .WAV, .wav files)
Third-party effects or codecs: Use Pluraleyes 3.0 and Mojo color from Red Giant
I realize this is a general error message and there are several forums posted from mostly more than 5 months ago. I cannot seem to find an answer that will help me. Here is what I have already tried:
    1. updated to Maverick
    2. checked for updates for Adobe software
    3. Cleared the Media Cache
    4. Switched from CUDA to software only
    5. Updated CUDA and switched back to CUDA in premiere
    6. Held SHIFT while starting up (nothing seems to happen or pop up on screen at least)
    Next:
—Going to uninstall Premiere and reinstall.
Any suggestions or possible fixes are great appreciated. What should my next step be?

    UPDATE:
    STEP 1:
Uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere - worked without crashing for the longest time since yesterday. After 1 hour of running - it crashed once again with same error message and same report (see below).
    Same as before:
    Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000
    STEP 2:
--Updated the RED GIANT plugin "mojo" (minor coloring software)
This worked for less than 10 mintues and then crashed again - but this time with different exeception details (I'm not sure what these mean)
    Crashed Thread:  2
    Exception Type:  EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
    Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000
    Application Specific Information:
*** CFRelease() called with NULL ***
    STEP 3:
Going off of the idea that it may be the plugin causing the issue (since it needed to be updated) I went into the project and deleted all of the files containing this effect in this project file (note: i have used this for 10+ projects on this computer with no trouble).
I thought it was fixed, from about 8:00 PM - 11:45 PM no crash - then as I was playing back clips - crashed again.
I have been loosely following these guidelines: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-mac.html
I am not sure where to go from here - should I continue into the "advanced troubleshooting" even though I'm not sure if any of these things are related.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I have launched two other Premiere Project Files (from previously completed projects) successfully without crashing. I tested a few things in the projects before returning to the problem project. If I suspect there is a problem with the file in particular - how do I find out what is causing the problem?
--I already removed MOJO effects thinking that could be the issue from the last files that were
--I have already gone back to a previous version from a week ago and imported the Sequence I needed. Still crashed.
I have sent 5+ reports to Adobe on the crash. Any feedback into this is much appreciated.

When I am on Adobe Premiere Pro cs6 every 10-20 mins it crashes when im editing a video, it crashes more often when im rendering it (export media, ctrl+M). I dont mind when it crashes while im editing because i save the file regularly but when im rendering its a problem, it probably because the file is too big as i use dxtory to record skyrim but this is an expensive product so it should be able to render. I encode the file once ive chosen the format and stuff for the video and it says finish rendering in 50 mins or so and when it gets to like 4% rendering it says not responding.
