Speedgrade won't open in MacOS Yosemite

I have latest

The first thing to try is holding opt-shift while opening to skip the preferences startup which can get corrupted. If that doesn't,  in order ...
Uninstall/reinstall Sg.
Download and run Adobe's CC Cleaner app, although their instructions say to uninstall the app you're going to "clean" first ...DON'T.  Use the CC app to uninstall & flush your computer ... then download a fresh copy of Sg through the Creative Cloud app and install. If this doesn't do it ...
Use the CC app to uninstall BOTH Sg and the Creative Cloud app. Download a new copy that willbe a "trial" until you log into your Adobe account. Then download Sg AGAIN.
If you can't run, then ... use the CC app to obliterate all Cc apps and reinstall.
Once you've done this it gets quicker to do. Sigh.

  • Direct link from Premiere Pro to Speedgrade won't open and stops at the post processing bar.

I've just installed the new version of Speedgrade and every time I try to open a direct link from Premiere Pro to Speedgrade, it opens and starts to load, but when the post processing bar appears it stops there and doesn't open, I've gone back to the original versions of both programmes and that same thing happens, HLEP!

    Hi Vinay,
    1. I am using third party plug ins, and I understand that might be causing an issue, but I've also tried opening a new project with nothing in it at all, and that won't open.
    2. Premiere Pro quits after the project loading bar or after I create a new project.
    3. I used a lot of files! mov, mts, psd, ai, png, jpeg, and AE compositions through dynamic link.
    4. The project has about five sequences. They range from 1 minute to 4 minutes.
    Thanks!

  • Iphoto won't open with new Yosemite upgrade

I just updated my iMac to the OS X Yosemite.  I couldn't open iPhoto, so I did what it said, which was to install the iPhoto upgrade.  Once I did that, I tried to open it again, and got the message, "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared."  I clicked "Learn more" and was told to use the iPhoto Library Upgrader so I downloaded the upgrader too.  Unfortunately, it still doesn't work and I'm still get the previous message, "To open your library...if first needs to be prepared."  Have any of you had this issue?  How did you fix it?  Please help!

Open the Mac App Store and check to see if there are any new updates, chances are you may have missed the iPhoto update and other iLife updates for Yosemite. If your problem still persists then rebuild the iPhoto library follow Apple's instructions located in iPhoto 6 and later: Rebuilding the iPhoto library

    Hi,
I just installed Yosemite on my 2009 macbook pro and I'm having issues with the Finder. None of the folders or files on my desktop open at all. Even force quitting the finder doesnt seem to help. The only way i can get it to work is if I log out and log back in. But the problem comes back everytime i restart. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem permanently?

  • Compressor 4.1.3 won't open since installing Yosemite 10.10.1

Compressor 4.1.3 crashes since installing Yosemite 10.10.1 on MB Pro Retina 15" (late 2011).

    Thanks for your suggestion Tom.
Before performing a clean install of Yosemite OS X 10.1.1, I decided to delete Compressor, Download it again from the App Store and reinstall.
That totally did the trick. It is not crashing on open anymore and is working perfectly once again.

  • Speedgrade won't open... still

My team purchased CC Suite a month or so back and i have never been able open Speedgrade CC 2014 on my new mac pro, the other guys im my team using older towers can open it fine.
The icon just bounces a once then nothing, no crash message either.
Tried re-installs and went to remove and third party plug-in from the folder HD>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Common>Plug-ins>7.0
as recommended by others but none present other than a empty 'MediaCore' folder.
    My machines specs are below.

I've not even been able to see the Speedgrade CC 2014 interface. For almost a year I've not been able to use Speedgrade as it crashes on every launch, with every update. I've gone through all the posts describing the same problem. What is going on and why can't Adobe fix this? It's literally been months. Hadn't even bothered with it for a few months because of this. Noticed the latest set of CC upgrades and upgraded everything including SpeedGrade. After upgrade I launched the app and Boom. Crash as usual.
I was told a while back that it was because I'm running two graphics cards. Ok... fine. But SpeedGrade CC runs fine. DiVinci Resolve runs fine. So the "It's the problem with two graphics cards" excuse no longer holds water. Never did really. So...fix it...please.
Before I finally give up and make the decision for our company to nix SpeedGrade altogether as a color correction and grading tool I thought I'd post one last time to see if I get help. There are still WAY too many posts about this problem with way too many variables to sit and go through to find the answer.

  • Upgrade to Yosemite, iPhoto won't open and NTFS-3G could not mount error with new external HD

    Help!
I just did a software update to get OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 on my MacBook Pro.
Now iPhoto won't open and I get this error:
"Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable....Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup."
So I do this and try to repair the database as suggested and I get another error:
"iPhoto will open as soon as the iPhoto library is available. Time Machine might be backing it up."
But it's not - no external hard drive is connected.
I'm terrified I can't get access to my photos (and I admit I haven't backed up with Time Machine for over a year - my mistake that I won't make again).
So I bought a brand new external hard drive (seagate for mac and pc, 2TB) so I could save only my photos to the hard drive (because I googled and read you can manually save your photos to disk by dragging and dropping the photo library onto the external hard drive).
But I can't even get the hard drive to work....I get this error
    "NTFS-3G could not mount /dev/disk2s1
at /Volumes/Seagate Backup Plus Drive because the following problem occurred:
/Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support/fusefs.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) link error; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).
the MacFUSE file system is not available (71)"
I google the issue again and it says to uninstall NTFS-3G but I actually think I just deleted it a long ago without uninstalling it properly??  I don't know....
    (a)  how do i fix iphoto
    (b)  how do i get external hard drives to work with this OS (I've read lots of posts and don't really understand the advice)
    (c)  how do i get all my photos onto the hard drive safely so I can import them onto a PC
Any assistance would be magic for this little lady!

    (c)  how do i get all my photos onto the hard drive safely so I can import them onto a PC
First see if you can reformat the EHD to MS-DOS FAT with Disk Utility.  If you can
open iPhoto and select all of the Events in the Events mode. Use the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option and export to the EHD with these settings:
Select the destination for the export to be the EHD or a folder on the EHD.  This process will create a folder for each Event in your library with the same name as the Event and contain the original image files.  The EHD will be useable by a PC and the photos will be available also.

  • Mail won't open after yosemite update

I updated my macbook pro last night to the yosemite version 10.10.3 and my mail app won't open anymore and i get the following message:
"The last time you opened Mail, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?".
I followed the advice on similar post about using disk utility, restoring using time machine, removing the mail file from the library and copying it to the desktop, but nothing works.
    Need help please

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages

              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try to launch Mail. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • IMovie won't open since i got the update for Yosemite

ever since i updated the mac book pro to Yosemite - it has been slower and also iMovie won't open at all

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.
    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode - About
You can also try running the combo update.

  • Imovie won't open any projects after upgrading to yosemite

Can anyone help? I upgraded to yosemite and imovie 10.0.6 and now imovie won't open. IPhoto and Garageband open just fine. After clicking Imovie, it appears in the menu bar but all options from the drop down menus are grayed out. I cannot open any projects and there is no imovie window opening. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the program twice with the same result. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Apple introduced a new document architecture with Pages v5, that is not backwards compatible with Pages '09. With Pages v5.5.2 (Yosemite) installed, a simple double-click on a Pages '09 document will default open it in Pages v5. Once you save, or Pages autosaves this document, it is no longer directly compatible with Pages '09, without first exporting it to Pages '09 format. Pages v5 documents do not contain index.xml files, and Pages '09 documents do.

I am having the same problem.  I even changed my password and updated all of my security information.  Now it just gives me an error and retry message, which of course also does not work.  Went to support and was going to open a chat (seemed the simpler option) and received a message that my support has expired for this serial number unless I want to pay $29.00.  So I chose the option to call later, which was the exact time suck I was trying to avoid.  Why wouldn't the new operating system also update the apps that were already part of my old platform?

  • Tried to open iPhoto after update to yosemite, won't open/no photos??

Recent update to Yosemite, iPhoto won't open,,,,,,are all my pictures lost??

Your pictures are probably not lost, but still safe in your iPhoto Library.
But the big problem is, that you will need iPhoto 9.6.1 - that is the only compatible version for Yosemite. If you did not purchase this version before yesterday, you cannot purchase it any longer, because Apple stopped selling iPhoto at the App Store.
Try, if the AppStore will let you update iPhoto from the Updates page of the AppStore, this might be possible, if iPhoto is showing among your Purchases on the Purchased page.
Otherwise, make a backup of your iPhoto Library and then open it in the new Photos.app. Launch Photos while holding down the alt/optionss key and select your iPhoto Library. This will migrate the iPhoto Library to a Photos library and let you browse your photos.
