Speeding up clips, sound carries over past end of clip

I did the speed up of a clip, the sound was sped up as well, but when the video of the clip ended, there remained about 10 more seconds of sound from that clip spilling over. I tried extracting the sound from the whole clip to see if that would remove it, it didn't, it is still there. How can I get rid of that? I cannot mute the track, there is video I want to put in after it. There is nothing to select and delete. Thank you.

That is a great idea. I will try that next time. I stumbled across a solution when I decided to edit the clip and cut off the last few seconds. When I did that, it removed the trailing audio as well. Thank you for the suggestion.

  • Popping sounds at end of clips

    Hey
    I'm using Audition CS6 (windows) and I'm getting these click/pop sounds at the end of clips in multitrack. If I open the individual clips up to edit and play it through there isn't any sign of it. However if I play the clip through in edit mode and stop it near the point where the pop is I will hear the pop when I hit stop. The irritating thing is if I do a mix down these little errors are still there and they are pretty loud!
    Any idea what could cause this? I'm using windows 7 and Cs6.
    G

    Without seeing the waveforms and/or hearing what you've got this is a complete shot in the dark -- and probably unlikely since it sounds like this is happening to multiple files and not just one but:
    1) Does the audio in your clips end with the waveform much above or below 0 amplitude? (You need to zoom in extra close to see if this is the case) If your wave stops too far above or below the line, and then suddenly drops to 0 as it's playing through in a mix it can cause clicks.
    2) Do you have the gain boosted on these clips anywhere in the multitrack mix window? If so, maybe you've got a click in the wavefore that's not too noticeble when playing in the edit window, but boosting the gain in the multitrack makes it more noticeble.

  • Repeated Frames at the end of clips

    I have a MacBook Pro with the adobe premiere pro cc 14, but I noticed this problem is CS6 also. The problem is this: Say I have two clips in the timeline that are connected (Clip A, Clip B).
    If I alter Clip B in anyway (change scale or position, or simply remove it from the timeline) the first frame of Clip B will remain at the end of Clip A. So, when I execute the playback function I can see a quick flash of Clip B at the end of Clip A.
    Here's what I've tried:
    I tried rendering the files--didn't work.
    I tried simply trimming the repeated frame off--didn't work.
    Here's what did work.
    There's a straight line that goes through every clip, I don't know what its called but I think it has something to do with the speed, I would drag that from say 100 to 96.55. The video would have the red render bar above it, and the repeated frame would disappear.
    HOWEVER, in my current project  I have serval repeated frames in a blank space where there are video clips, so the previous method can not work.
    What the heck!?!?!
    Thanks

    What are these clip exactly

  • CS6 Mixing Down Sesx With Marker Ranges Past The Last Clip

    This does have a little to do with a previous thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4440234), but is specific enough to not add to that thread.
    I just noticed some strange behaviour (and erroring) in CS6.
    I have a sesx with 5 minute marker ranges from 00:00:00 to 02:30:00 (30 marker ranges).
    Let's say a clip (or group of clips) is only 01:05:23.
    If you do Mixdown To New File - Entire Session, the resultant mixdown will be 01:05:23 (as you would expect), but it will have all 30 marker ranges (extending past the end of the timeline).
    If you select marker ranges 1-14 (14 is where 01:05:23 falls within) and export selected markers to files, you will get a 23 second file as the 14th file.
    On the other hand, if you include marker 15 in the selection (or select all, for that matter), you will get an error for every range that it tries to export that doesn't have audio.
    If you do a time selection, in multitrack, and Mixdown To New File - Time Selection, the extra marker ranges do not get included in the mixdown.
    JJ
    Edit...
    A bit of background as to why we are using the session this way...
    We use Audition, mostly, for editing sermons preached at our church that are to be produced for cd.
    The audio is recorded in as a mono file (directly from the microphone channel), is edited in mono, and stored in mono (stereo takes twice the hard drive space and is an unnecessary conversion for a mono signal).
    These sermons are, generally, parts of a series that will be available as a series (as opposed to individual sermons).
    Once all the individual parts of the series are edited, they are imported into a session for that series (based on the afore-mentioned template with 30 marker ranges).
    Part 1 is track 1, part 2 is track 2, etc... (all sermons start at 00:00:00).
    In this fashion, it's easy to see which sermons are longer than 01:19:58 (IE...go to 2 cds) and we can use volume envelopes for the fade out of cd1, fade in of cd2, and whatever we want to overlap between the 2 cds.
    Track 1 might be 01:26:32, track 4 might be 00:48:22, track 13 might be 01:15:01, etc... (02:30:00 was chosen as the ending time as we've had 2 sermons longer than 02:20:00 but none longer than 02:30:00).
    In AA1.0 and AA1.5, there was a simple option to right-click on a clip and Mixdown To New File - Selected Clip that was removed in AA2.0 (I think) and hasn't made its way back since (I plan to submit a feature request for this).
    The biggest reason why we use multitrack for this is that the mixdown will automatically convert the mono file to stereo and transfer the marker ranges from multitrack to the resultant mixdown.
    Yes, we could just manually convert the mono file to stereo and add marker ranges.
    That is a lot of unnecessary work, though, when it happens in the mixdown.
    AA1.0 and AA1.5 worked perfectly, for this function, as it had the ability to mixdown selected clips.
    The resultant mixdown would be an exact duplicate of the clip, in stereo, and with marker ranges that were correct.
    There may be some different functionality that hasn't been explored, but what I have found is we simply have to do more work to get the same result.
    JJ

    Thanks.  I don't see any error message, but I do find Audition locks up when attempting to export Marker ranges that don't have audio data associated with them.  I'll write a bug and get it assigned this morning.  While out-of-bounds markers are perfectly legitimate and have valid use cases, Audition should handle them more gracefully when asked to perform certain tasks.

  • Slow speed during peak hours for over a year

    For over a year now my connection speed has slowed during peak hours, at first it would start around 6pm and drop to 5meg or so untill midnight at which point it would go back up to 8meg all night and morning.
    As the year has gone on it has gotten worse and worse to the point now where it starts around 2pm and plummits to 1.5-2meg and remains at that till midnight at which point it goes back to 8meg.
    I have been trying to get help with this from @BTCare on twitter for serveral months now and have gotten absolutely no where, every time i get the same old "are you on wireless or wired", "try a different router/microfilter", "try another PC", "run a diagnostic test on our speed tester" etc etc and at the end of it they go silent and then when i try and get some kind of update we are back to square one of being told to fill out my details on the website to open a NEW ticket even though i currently have 5 or 6 open tickets for the same **bleep** issue.
    So i've come to try my luck here before i throw in the towel and just get rid of the **bleep** line alltogether as it is currently a waste of money.

  • Sound with mgp digital camera video clips

    I cannot get the sound onto my ipod, the Video clips from my digital camera are fine and play fine, but no sound

    Hi bj1,
    First off, are these video clips in a compatible format for your iPod? They will have to be in either one of these formats:
    M4V, MP4, or MOV
    If it is in one of those formats, then let's proceed onto resetting your iPod. To reset an iPod:
    First, toggle your iPod's "Hold" switch back and forth a couple of times (make sure that you leave it on the white side of the switch, which is "Off")
    Then, press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for 5-10 seconds.
    You might need to try this several times before it ever ends up working for you.
    For more effect when you reset an iPod, you could try connecting your iPod to a power source, like a wall charger or your computer's USB, while you reset the iPod.
    If resetting doesn't seem to do anything, then I would suggest that you try reconverting these video files using a third-party program.
    For example, you could use MPEG Streamclip, which I have heard is good, and not buggy software.
    After you've converted those video files, delete the old ones off your iPod, and reload the video clips (the newly converted ones) onto your iPod again.
    Does it work now after trying that?

  • Does firefox has the clip feature that internet explorer has for clipping a article and pasting it to a document.

    internet explorer (my os is win 8) has a feature that allows the user to clip and article and paste it to a document, does mozilla has the add on comparable to this, if so where is it and how do I acquire it.

    Could you describe where you find this in the menu in IE and what it's called?
    Traditionally, to copy and paste the contents of a web page, you first select the portion of the page you want, then copy using Ctrl+c (or right-click > Copy), then switch over to the receiving application and paste using Ctrl+v (or right-click > Paste).
    However, there might be an add-on that gives you a better result depending on what you're looking for.

  • Video clip sound after burning

    I use Adobe Premiere Elements 10, and I recently made a music video. I put a soundtrack to it. I turned the video clip sound all the way off and just let the soundtrack play over it, like a music video. I then burned it to a disk and played it on my DVD player. When it was playing, I noticed that the video clip sound and the soundtrack were both playingand over lapping each other. I burned several disks after turning every other sound off but the soundtrack, and still the video clip was playing over it. Please give me advice on how to fix it, as it would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.
    First, I would play the Timeline with the Audio Mixer Panel open, and watch for the Levels of the other Video Tracks. You can also use that to Mute other Audio Tracks.
    One can also Alt-click on the Audio portion of the Clip, and just Delete that.
    Now, did you place your music onto the Fixed Soundtrack Audio Track? Some users have experienced problems with the two Fixed Tracks, Soundtrack and Narration, and the normal "fix" is to just drag the music (or narration) to an empty, "regular" Audio Track.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Camileo X100 freezes using remote at the end of clip

    I bought a Toshiba Camileo X100 a few days ago.
    The camera is great, I like it very much.
    However, there is a problem with the firmware I think.
    The remote control is functioning, as expected, although there is no detail about its usage in the manual, I had to guess everything.
    The problem is the following. If you go with the remote to play a clip, you wait for the end of the clip, and would like to go back to the previous screen, you press the Back/Cancel button on the remote (right bottom button).
    If you do this, the camera freezes.
    You have to switch it off and switch it on again to be able to use it.
    The bug was confirmed by HRP Hungary (distributor and service in Hungary), we tested it together over the phone, so it should not be the problem of my specific camera.
    What could you advise me on this?
    The following issues are not bugs, but during playback it would be useful to be able to see somehow the details of the clips recorded (at least the time of the recording), and to be able to set some settings for recording, so that the camera does not forget everything at turning off (e.g. stabilization, or pre rec setting etc.).
    Why do you have to have the screen open, when you are shooting a time lapse for a few hours, or during playback on TV?
    THX for any help.

    Hi there,
    THX for checking. I also sent a letter to Toshiba, first they wanted to replace the camera, then I explained again that the replacement will work the same way, no answer since then.
    What I ment during playback, is some information about the clips, e.g. the time, when the recording was made. Currently you only see the number of the file and the total number of files in the list, and the length + the number of the files when you are on one file. On other cameras you see the length, the time of the recording, the settings used. On Camileo X100, you see only the length and the basic setting, but no data on the time of the recording, or other metadata (e.g. stabilization focus...). It is not a bug, but would have been useful.

  • Put a graphic over/in a video clip

    What I'm trying to do is put the logo Baywatch (but my own version, something stupid like Boobwatch) over a beach scene I have. Since it's not a font, can I do this in iMovie in anyway? I'd create it in Photoshop, but can I get the graphic on top of the video? Something how you put on font on the video rather than "Over Black." I want to put the graphic on the clip.
    If not, are my only other options exporting the video to Photoshop and doing it all in there? Or the second option, making the font?

    I need to buy the plug-ins to do this correctly, but in the meantime, here's what you can do. It won't put your logo over the TOP of the background footage, but it may work until you purchase the plugin that's needed:
    1. Add an edit mark at the beginning and end of the sequence you want to overlay the logo. To put an edit mark, press Apple Key and 'T' at the same time.
    2. Click the clip inside the edit marks by simply clicking on it. It turns dark blue.
    3. Go to Advanced pull-down options and select Extract Audio. This will pull the audio from the selected clip and place it in one of the two audio tracks below the video clips.
    4. While the video clip is still selected, delete it by pressing the Delete key. Don't empty the iMovie trash just in case you need to Undo your move.
    5. Move the logo into your iMovie clip bin, then move it into the video timeline exactly where your previous clips was deleted. If it's longer or shorter than the extracted audio clip below it, double-click the logo image in the timeline and adjust it's duration. I think default is 0:05:00 seconds, but that can be changed. If you imported the logo image from iPhoto, it may have the Ken Burns move pre-selected, in which case you need to un-select Ken Burns, then adjust the duration of the logo image.
    6. Now your extracted audio should play seamlessly along with the logo image.

  • Snapping cursor line to end of clips

    I recently upgraded from 1.5 to 3 and for some reason by default the play line thing doesnt snap to the end of clips automatically. Does anyone know how to find the option that will allow that line, i dont know what its called, the line that scrolls past the clips when you hit play, how to make it so that when you click hold and move that line it automatically snaps to the end of the clip when it passes it?

    Maybe you need to turn on the relevant Snapping option, Snap to Clip. They appear in a drop down menu when you right click on the Timeline at the bottom of the screen.

  • AE Error: Reading Past End of File

    I am currently working on finishing up a project and was using After Effects to create an vintage film burn type effect over some interview footage. I imported that AE sequence into Premiere and have been working with those for several days.
    However, as I was making my final few corrections today in Premiere, the AE sequence that I had imported was offline. I tried to relink it to no avail. I then attempted to open the AE file to see what the issue was. At which time, it presented the 'AE warning: Reading Past End of File' and then 'Unable to read project settings. Color settings reset to factory defaults.'
    This is obviously a huge issue which will put me far behind schedule if I can't figure out the issue causing this. I literally had been working in these project files not minutes before all this happened, so I don't have the slightest clue what could have caused this. Any help will be immensely appreciated! Let me know if you need my specs and I will be happy to provide them. Thanks!

    I am using 21" 2.7 gHz Intel i5 with 8 gigs of Ram. AND 6770 graphics card and all of my Adobe programs are up to date CC 2014.
    I'm using dslr footage at 23.97 and 1080p. Not sure on the color settings, but I doubt I changed them from the default. Its in 8 bpc. I am not using any crazy effects by any means, just a few solid layers and minor color correction on some of the footage.
    What could cause this type of error? Thanks!

  • Out-of-bounds pointer argument (past end of memory block).

    Hey guys,
      I'm trying to run a modified Acq-IntClk.C and got the following error:
     "FATAL RUN-TIME ERROR:   "Acq-IntClk.c", line 155, col 29, thread id 0x00001564:   Out-of-bounds pointer argument (past end of memory block)."
    here is the segment that gives me error:
    PlotY(panel,PANEL_GRAPH,&(data[numRead]),numRead,VAL_DOUBLE,VAL_THIN_LINE,VAL_EMPTY_SQUARE,VAL_SOLID,1,plotColors[1%12]);
    &(data[numRead]) is the problem
     i did some printfs:
    printf("sizeof(data):%d, numRead: %d, address: %d",sizeof(data),numRead,&(data[numRead]));
     and got:
    sizeof(data):4, numRead: 80000, address: 51233856
    the data array is carried over from
    RandomGen(taskHandle,sampsPerChan,10.0,DAQmx_Val_GroupByChannel,data,sampsPerChan*numChannels,&numRead,NULL);
    int32 RandomGen (TaskHandle taskHandle, int32 samplePerChannel, float64 timeout,bool32 fillMode, float64 *readArray,uInt32 arraySize, int32 *samplesPerChannelRead, bool32 *reserved){
    int i;
    double min = GblDataLow[taskHandle];
    double max = GblDataHigh[taskHandle];
    if (GblReadyForNiData[taskHandle]){
    //for (i = 0; i < arraySize; i++)
    for (i = 0; i < GblArraySize[taskHandle]; i++)
    readArray[i] = Random(min, max);
    *samplesPerChannelRead = arraySize;
    }else{
    *samplesPerChannelRead = 0;
    return 0;
    what is wrong with data here? RandomGen basically creates random data points to emulate DAQmxReadAnalogF64 and allows for Acq-IntClk to graph points as if the data came from some instrument.
    thanks!

    I think the problem is that you're passing a pointer to the end of your data array to the plotting function.  The function is expecting a pointer to the beginning of the data array.  I think this is what you should be doing:
    PlotY(panel,PANEL_GRAPH,&(data[0]),numRead,VAL_DOUBLE,VAL_THIN_LINE,VAL_EMPTY_SQUARE,VAL_SOLID,1,plotColors[1%12]);
     or more simply:
    PlotY(panel,PANEL_GRAPH,data,numRead,VAL_DOUBLE,VAL_THIN_LINE,VAL_EMPTY_SQUARE,VAL_SOLID,1,plotColors[1%12]);

  • Can one cut and paste an audio clip within a movie to use in another place?

    can one copy and paste an audio clip within a movie to use in another place?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

    If you are wanting to use the audio from clip A into clip B then try......
    First check that Advanced tools are enabled: iMovie>Preferences>General>Show Advanced Tools.
    Drag clip A from the Event UPON clip B in the Project. When you release the mouse you will get a pop up menue.
    Select Audio Only. Note the other options for another day!!!!
    You will get a green bar as Karsten mentions above ( move it , shorten it etc, etc.)
    Show Audio Waveform by selecting Blue Waveform Box ,bottom right of Project Window.
    You can adjust audio level from clip A and clip B to your requirements.You can set either to zero volume if you require.
    This may not be what you meant by "to use in another place "
    If you want just the audio to use outside of iMovie, try;
    With the required clip/clips only in the project> Share> Export Using Quicktime and in Export Select "Sound To AIFF. Save to desktop in the first instance so you can easily find it.

  • Adjust end of clip and move all other clips accordingly

    having found this help topic about trimming clips: Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Trimming clips, i figured i might be able to figure out how to adjust the end of a clip and move all subsequent media content accordingly.
    the situation would be: adding a word to dialogue, cutting out a word, something like that -- where you have to shorten or lengthen a clip, and you need to move all subsequent content accordingly.
    i used to know the name of the folks that did the study in the late 90's regarding help file "readability," which then resulted in the trend that help files don't offer the ability to dig deeper into the definitions of a software's vocabulary, but i forgot.
    at any rate:
    i don't know what the blue thing is called with which one moves around on adobe's timeline.
    now, i'm assuming i'll be able to dig that up.
    but i have a series of graphics -- and i want to move adjust the length of time graphic1 appears (let's say extend it's length). i'd like to "bump" or "move" or "ripple," or "roll," or "regular edit," the graphic so that -- when i move the right side of the graphic -- all subsequent graphics get "bumped" to the right (later in time).
    while i appreciate the alliteration of regular ripple and rolling edits, i did need to try them out to see what they do.
    and none of them appear to "bump" all subsequent content.
    i gather that i could "lasso" all of the subsequent content and nudge it and/or move it around -- but really -- i'd like to be in clip 19 -- adjust when that clip ends -- and move all subsequent content either later or earlier in time -- accordingly.
    ideally that "desire" would extent into: i am just going to move visual content, and "i am going to move visual and audio content."
    please have compassion for my "negative" tone, because i am having a bit of a "losing faith in humanity" moment right now - because i took about a 5 year break from tech and am now returning to tech -- and i expected user procedures to have improved.
    i'll be OK and will likely blog about it, but for now: can you either tell me some keyboard shortcuts or direct me to help files or just explain -- how to edit the various types of content in premiere the way i've outlined?
    i want to move all of the subsequent content over to the right. i do not want to just move the end of the last clip and the start of the next clip -- keeping the end of the next clip in the same place (which is apparently what the red double double arrow does).
    i seem to have tried out "regular, ripple, and roll," and maybe i'm almost there -- or one of those methods actually works -- but the word that is coming to mind is "bump."
    bump or nudge or adjust...
    anyway -- got any tips?

    hey Michael, your reply helps restore my faith in your humanity -- but seriously -- i need to use the "ripple delete tool" to NOT delete -- but extend and push?
    really?
    that is as obnoxious as going to the start button to shut down.
    how about going to the shut down button to start? how about that Bill Gates.
    and we still can't tell the difference between a lowercase l and an uppercase I online. Good job humanity. Sometimes even the 1 is the same as l and I  -- so you have 1lI  all looking the same.
    My 8 year old daughter thought I live in LLLinois? She was trying to read Illinois.
    Of course I have to go to "delete" to extend. What else? I have to go to start to shut down.
    ps --- that is why humanity has gone through the effort to call those thingies on doors: handles. See a handle can be used to open AND close a door.
    it is not the "close knob" it is the "door knob." why? because you can use it to open and close.
    it is not the on/off button -- though some call it that -- it is the "power" button.
    You go through the effort to create vocabulary that makes sense if you are going to create and sell software. I understand that sometimes it can be hard, but there are plenty of people, myself included, who have the intellectual capacity -- to find or create these kinds of cohesive procedural flows -- to a large extent due to our linguistic abilities.
