Speicherverwaltung CS3 unter VISTA nur 1,6GB ?

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe ein kleines Problemchen mit der Speicherverwaltung von Photoshop CS3 unter Windows VISTA Home Premium.
Den PC habe ich gerade von 2GB auf 4GB aufgerüstet, so weit so gut.
Jetzt habe ich aber festgestellt, dass mir PS trotzdem nur etwas mehr als 1600MB "nutzbarer Speicher" anbietet und ich dann die prozentuale Ausnutzung dieses Speicherangebotes auswählen kann !??
Ist das normal, - kann PS CS3 wirklich nicht mehr Speicher verwalten, obwohl das System physikalisch ja mehr Speicher eingebaut hat, oder mache ich etwas falsch ?
Wenn tatsächlich nur die 1,6GB zur Verfügung stehen, kann ich dann die Ausnutzung auf 100% stellen - habe ich doch 4GB im Rechner drin stecken ?
Für Hilfestellung und Tipps schon jetzt vielen Dank !

jaja, es ist die 32-Bit Version und das mit den Treibern stimmt natürlich auch. Ich weiß auch, dass Windows nur 3326 MB verwalten kann, mir sind aber 3326MB lieber, wie "nur" 2048MB. Speicher ist derzeit nicht mehr sooo kostenintensiv, daher gönne ich mir den Spaß.
Ich denke aber mal, dass CS3 trotzdem mehr Speicher abhaben könnte und sich nicht nur mit 1668MB begnügen müsste.
Ist das eine magische Grenze für CS3 unter Vista (32Bit) oder kann man da noch etwas ändern ??

Dass mir die Systeminfo als Betriebssystem WINDWS NT ausgibt wundert mich zwar, aber das lass ich mal unbeachtet.
Warum zeigt mir PS auch an, dass der ideale Speicherbereich zwischen 917 und 1200 MB liegt. Wenn doch 3326MB verwaltet werden und physikalisch 4GB installiert sind ?
Hmm, irgendwie fehlt mir da noch der logische Zusammenhang.
Naja, hauptsache es läuft erst mal.
Trotzdem bin ich für jede Erklärung dankbar !
Ich geh den Dingen gerne auf den Grund.

Grüß Euch,
dieser Tage habe ich mir die Trial runtergeladen und wollte
sie heute installieren. Beim Wollen ist es geblieben. Das englische
Forum bin ich - ebenso wie die KB-Sites - schon durch, komme aber
nicht auf die Lösung.
Problembeschreibung:
(Entpacken klappt einwandfrei) Nur den Pfad von
C:\...\Desktop\... auf C:\...\Eigene Dateien\... geändert
1) Fehlermeldungen beim Öffnen der HTML-Dateien =>
Verzeichnis nicht gefunden, Seite öffnet sich trotzdem im
Browser
2) Setup ausführen: Virenscanner deaktiviert, als
Administrator ausführen, Kompatibilitätsmodus deaktiviert
bzw. XP SP2 ausgewählt => Setup bricht ohne Fehlermeldung
ab, Installation kann nicht fortgesetzt werden
Nachdem ich eine professionelle Arbeitsumgebung brauche,
kommt für mich nur Dreamweaver als Werkzeug in Frage, weshalb
ich es in den kommenden Tagen eigentlich kaufen 'muss'. Da ich aber
keine EUR 580,- versenken bzw. mich mit Adobe herumstreiten
will.... Zudem ist es meine erste Lizenz die ich erwerbe, weshalb
ich vorerst den regulären Support noch nicht in Anspruch
nehmen kann (bisher auf MX2004 bei meinem letzten Dienstgeber
gearbeitet)
Meine Frage(n):
1) Tritt das Installationsproblem nur bei der Trial auf?
2) Kennt jemand eine praktikable Lösung für das
Problem und wie sieht sie aus? Lt. Adobe ist die Installation unter
Vista64 natürlich 'kein Problem'
Noch ein paar System-Facts:
AMD2 Sempron64, 1GB SDRAM usw.
Wäre echt toll, wenn sich jemand finden würde, der
hier eine Installations-Hilfe auf Deutsch verfasst. Jedenfalls
danke im Voraus für alle hilfreichen Comments!

Man kann über Adobe sagen was man will, aber der Support
zu meinen Problemen war wirklich hilfreich bemüht und sehr
freundlich. Leider brachte er keine brauchbare Lösung hervor.
Mittlerweile betrachte ich das Problem aber als ein durchaus
MS-spezifisches, da MS bei Vista ja verspricht, auch 32-bit-SW von
Drittanbietern zu unterstützen, wobei es lediglich nur bei
älteren Programmen zu Problemen kommen kann (Stichwort:
Kompatibilitätsassistent). Die heutige Anfrage beim
telefonischen Support von MS (AT), welche Lösungen von Seiten
von MS angeboten werden, brachte nur die lapidare Aussage hervor,
ich möge mir doch eine XP-Pro-Version (32-bit) käuflich
zulegen und Vista derweilen in den Schrank stellen. Ansonsten solle
ich mich doch gefälligst an die Anbieter der von mir
benötigten SW wenden, damit sich diese (wörtlich!)
'endlich herablassen', deren SW unter Vista lauffähig zu
machen.
Fazit: MS hat wieder einmal seinen schlechten Ruf unter
Beweis gestellt. Für mich bedeutet das aber folgendes - die
endgültige Abkehr von MS-Produkten und Einrichtung unseres
neuen Büros mit Linux. Es wird bei uns nur noch einen PC
geben, auf dem eine XP-Pro-Version läuft, um professionelle SW
(die noch nicht auf Linux portiert ist) einsetzen zu können.
Meine Bitte daher an Adobe - macht Eure SW (zB. CS3-Suite)
Linux-tauglich. Ihr könnt davon nur profitieren!

AE cs3 on Vista can't complete third party content manager

I'm using AE cs3 with Vista on my PC, and I'm trying to install additional format files with the third party content manager installer that is built in AE, everything works fine, but the installer can't complete it's operation.
Please help me!

Time to get used to Vista... When you install stuff on Vista, always use 'Run As Administrator'. IE, Right click setup.exe (or whatever) and select "run as admin".
Should have no more problems.. Get used to doing that for plugins, and everything you install.

I can use both with no problems at all and all CS3
applications do
support VIsta. You will have to be much more specific about
what
problems you are having, error messages, etc.

Dreamweaver CS3 in Vista 64 and Windows 7

I am running Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista 64 and Windows 7 Pro for about 2 months now.
When I go to set up a new Site Definition and select a Local root folder, I find I have to go down an extra directory in order to get Dreamweaver to select the directory I want as root. (example: have to select the image directory).
Windows 7 is out officially now, I wonder if this problem has been fix in CS4, and how CS4 preforms on Windows 7.
I have been hodling off upgrading to CS4 for a year now, since Adobe has not make any statements about Windows 7 support. If adobe has release some statements, can someone point me to the statement?
What is the possible release schedule for CS5, I am thinking May 2010?

EOS 1200D - Raw-Dateien unter Vista öffnen/bearbeiten

Hallo Gemeinde!
Ich habe mir vor ein paar Tagen die Canon EOS 1200D zugelegt und jetzt festgestellt, daß diese Kamera erst ab CR 8.4 unterstützt wird. Ich habe als Betriebssystem allerdings Windows Vista, da ist die letzte mögliche CR-Version die 8.3. Gibt es irgendeine Möglichkeit, CR 8.4 oder höher unter Vista in Photoshop Elements 12 einzubinden? Ich würde die Programme gerne weiter nutzen, habe allerdings nicht vor, mir deswegen Windows 7 zuzulegen (zumal ich gar nicht weiß, ob mein alter Laptop das überhaupt packen würde).
Hat jemand ein ähnliches Problem eventuell schon gelöst bekommen?

Ob neue Notebooks jetzt schneller sind als mein "altes" oder nicht, spielt für mich keine Rolle. Ich sehe nicht ein, mir für 300 € oder so (die ich nicht mal eben aus Spaß an der Freude bereit bin, auszugeben) zu kaufen, weil Adobe es nicht für nötig hält, ein Update für ein Plugin eines Programms (welches wie geschrieben ansonsten problemlos auch unter Vista läuft) entsprechend anzupassen bzw. meinetwegen auch ein altes Plugin mit den entsprechenden Daten der neuen Kameras zu füttern.
In dem Fall verbuche ich die Summe, die ich für PSE ausgegeben habe, mal als Lehrgeld und sage wohl tatsächlich (um bei deinen Ö's zu bleiben) : Tschö mit Ö Adöbe, Hallöööö Cörel. DA funktioniert der Converter nämlich auch unter Vista einwandfrei mit neuen Kameramodellen, sogar ganz ohne Updates.

PSE5 (Organizer) keine Rückmeldung unter Vista

Wenn ich PSE5 Organizer unter Vista starten will, hängt sich das Programm auf. Der erste Start nach der Installation klappt, ein weiterer Start ist nicht möglich. Meinen Katalogordner habe ich auf einer anderen Partition, sehe ich dann die Rechte an, sind diese auch verschwunden.
Auch der Patch 5.0.2 brachte nix, kann meinen Katalog nicht starten, auch einen neuen anlegen klappt nicht, Programm hängt sich immer auf!!

Flash CS3-Testversion unter Vista?!

Hallo zusammen
Ich hab vor Jahren ein paar kleine Sachen in Flash gemacht
und wollte mich jetzt für ein geschäftliches Projekt
wieder einarbeiten. Klugerweise habe ich mir gedacht, ich
könne die Software erst als Testversion runterladen und dann
lizenzieren, wenn es funktioniert. Und jetzt, natürlich,
funktionierts NICHT...
Folgendes Problem (auf einem handelsüblichen HP-Notebook
mit Windows Vista Ultimate): Ich lade das 400 MB-File von Adobe
runter, führe es aus, das entzippt dann in einen Ordner "Adobe
CS3", dort gibts einen Unterordner "Flash professional", dort einen
Ordner "Adobe CS3" und dort wiederum ein "setup.exe", das man
gemäss Bittelesen.html ausführen soll.
Tja, Doppelklick auf setup.exe; ein kleines Fenster "Adobe
CS3" geht auf, dortdrin steht dann "Adobe Setup", ich sehe eine
leere Leiste (die sich wohl im Laufe des Setups füllen sollte)
- und dann geht das Fenster wieder zu und Feierabend ist... Auch,
wenn ich die Sachen als Administrator (freilich...), im XP
Kompatibilitätsmodus etc. ausführe...
Irgendwelche Ansätze? Von Adobe selber bekomme ich ja
irgendwie scheinbar keine Hilfe, solange das Programm nicht

der Adobe-chat sagte mir,daß es nicht unter windows 7 läuft.Herr google sagt mir aber was ganz anderes.

hab zwar 64bit, aber das dürfte kein grund sein ...
ich hab öfters (von bekannten) das gleiche Problem bemerkt ...
allerdings unter win vista und win7
kann dir leider aber auch nich helfen ...
was mein "post" eigentlich sinnlos erscheinen lässt,
aber meine aussage sollte ja hauptsächlich ...
über das problemlose "laufen" dieses programmes unter windows 7 schildern )

Photoshop cs3 + windows vista + intuos 3

I am working with "photoshop cs3" "windows ultimate vista" and an "wacom intuos 3" tablet and I experience heavy lags while drawing like the brush-strokes don't quite follow my moves, and I have to wait for them to catch up.
When I open a large file and I try to apply the first brush stroke on my drawing the cursor screen disappears for a while and photoshop is not responding.
Then Photoshop comes back so the cursor and I can start to work. But as soon as I drag the page using the little Hand tool photoshop stops responding again for few more seconds and when it restarts I can hardly control the direction of my new brush strokes.
Apparently in order to restart the only remedy I found (by chance) is by toggling the layer visibility status (change a layer from visible to not and back to visible again). After this exercise I can draw in photoshop again! But of course same problems again as soon as I will use the hand tool and move on the screen again!!!
Any idea about what could be behind my problems!?
What should I check?
(These problems started after last week immediately after re installation of vista on my machine, I never had this problem with vista photoshop and intuos on that same machine before!)

I have CS3, Vista Ultimate and an Intuos3 tablet. No lags or delays now. But I used to have them and many were reported on the Wacom Users Forum when Vista first came out. I can't remember now what the fix was - have a look on the Wacom Users' Forum. If you had it running ok on your previous Vista installation some software setting must have changed in the new installation. Things that may help are:
get latest Nvidia vga card drivers (if you have an Nvidia card); get the latest Wacom driver; Logitech Setpoint software conflicting - the latest is ok for me; disable/switch off the Vista Pen and Input device.
Sorry, I can't remember the fixes but they should be available if you dig around in the Wacom Users' Forum.

Problems with After Effects/Premiere CS3 in Vista

I have read through a bundle of solutions to this problem and haven't found anything that has worked yet. I ran After Effects and Premiere Pro on Vista up until two days ago when it refused to open. When I try to open Premiere, it gives the message "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attemp to save your current project." When I tryo to open After Effects, the firts try does nothing. The second attempt will open After Effects, but all interfaces are missing and all the dropdown menus are grayed out. When I close it, it says After Effects has crashed, contact support, error 0:42. I have uninstalled/deactivated and reinstalled, run codec sniper, removed xmi preference settings and nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you run the CS3 Clean Script? If not, please do so before attempting any reinstalls. More info on such stuff here and here.

Problems installing FW CS3 on Vista Business

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has come up with this problem.
Actually I have it with both, Fireworks and Dreamweaver. I'm
currently running my machine with Windows Vista Business, and when
trying to install, it does nothing.
I double click the installation file, it extracts the
content, then I see a progress bar that says "preparing", and after
that window dissappears I breafly see a Setup progress bar which
immediatly dissappears and THATS IT! gone! I tried running it as
Administrator, that won't make a difference.
P.S This is the trial I'm trying to install by the way,
however I've seen in other forums that users are finding the same
problem with the full program.
Any suggestions please?

CS3 installs/runs on Vista, and Win7 is pretty much the same codebase. You might try right-clicking the install program and then click Run as Administrator, but it's probably some other problem.

CS3 and Vista: Application wont run

Just got a new laptop with Vista. Installed CS3 no problem but now when I try to open any of the programs, nothing happens. I've already tried running them as administrator and my laptop can definitely handle CS3.

CS3 on Vista - Site Panel acting buggy

In DW CS3 on my new Vista machine, the Site Panel is behaving
weirdly. When
I try to expand/collapse folders, it acts buggy; as I
carefully click the -
[minus sign] in front of one folder to close/collapse it, a
completely
separate directory will open/expand. I've tried it a bunch of
times and this
is definitely what it's doing. It's a pretty serious hassle
for me.
Anybody else seen this? Anything I can do about it?
