  • Can pages spell check in Spanish?

My daughter is doing a paper for her Spanish class, and would like to spell check the document, Does Pages have the capability to spell check in languages other than English?
Thanks for any and all helpful info.

Aha, so that's the reason you're going after me.  You've decided that what I posted today has zero to do with a poster who posted years ago, so I need to have my hand slapped.
Can I point out that the title of this thread is "can pages spell check in Spanish?"  The title didn't limit the question to one particular version.
Do you not realize that for everyone who writes a post about their problem there are many other people who simply search the archives to get their problem addressed? Instead of posting a brand new question they search the archives and solve their own problems without ever being detected.  The lurkers as they are often called.
Take me for example, I was searching this very issue today, came across this very post, and the solution you offered back in January of 2012 didn't work for me. So, I poked around in Pages until I found the current solution to my current version of Pages. And, I added it to the discussion for the sake of others like me who might find the January 2012 solution not workable for them either. So, they wouldn't have to poke around and work it out for themselves.
I hope this is not how you treat everyone who contributes to the knowledge base.  Try to be a little patient if you will with the ones of us who don't hang around here day in and day out. While we may not know your rules for the sandbox, we're just trying to be helpful. No need to come after us with your guns blazing.

  • Spell Check Marks Correctly Spelled Words

Does anyone have this problem on their iPad? I'm getting correctly spelled words marked with red underline as misspelled. For example I have had the word "that" marked as misspelled. When I click on the word "that", it does not give me an option for the word. I could go on with several examples of common words that are spelled correctly, but the iPad is marking them as misspelled.

    Thanks! I'll check this out.
And yes that seems to be the problem. The international button is a toggle that goes through all languages set up on your iPad. I have English, Russian, and Spanish. It seems that I have accidentally toggled to Russian and then when I toggled agin, it went to Spanish, which I thought was English.
So the next question I have is if I have the Spanish keyboard on, does it spell check in Spanish?

  • Span ish spell checker misfunction

    Hi,
since some months, I really couldn't say from when… I cannot use the spell checker in Spanish unless I start to spell from the begining. I mean, if I start to spell from the last word of a paragraph, all the rest of words which need to be correceted too leave their red line.
So, I must tostart from the begining, if I don't do in that manner, I can't see easily enoguh which words are badly writing.
Thanks in advance if anyone cn help about that

sorry for answering so late, thanks for trying to help me!
the problem only appears in Mail. And it exists always and only in Mail!
What happens is this: write a paragraph, with 3 mistakes (so they have a red line under them), try to correct the last one, in that moment, the red line below the first 2 mistakes disappear.
    It's very annoying!

  • Spell Check Text in Spanish in Acrobat Pro 9

I can only spell check in English and I work in various languages. I went to File > Properties > Advanced > Reading, changed it to Spanish
Then Edit > Check Spelling > In Fields editable text, comments  then when it opens it does not show Editable Text.
How do I set my text to Editable Text. I have searched and have not found the solution. There are documents that I have created myself. Thanks for the help ...

Figured out the solution: Go to Edit > Preferences > Spelling > Check the languages you wish to use and move them up to the top. Make sure the language you wish to use in a particular document is at the very top since it seems the Adobe is not intuitive. . I guess it will not check multiple language in the same pdf document.

  • Is it possible to change the spell check dictionary in "pages for iPad" from Spanish to UK English?  The app was downloaded in Spain.

Is it possible to change the spell check dictionary in “pages for iPad” from Spanish to UK English?  The app was purchased in Spain and I am living in spain temporarily

Spell checking should be based on the keyboard layout that you've got selected in Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards - if you have an English 'UK keyboard' selected then the spell checking should be English

  • Spanish spell checker in Keynote

If I change my operating system to Spanish, I can access a Spanish spell checker within Keynote. I cannot, however, specify the language I want to use for a particular Keynote file--as I can in PowerPoint. Is there a way to access the Spanish spelling tools from the docment itself without changing the system preferences language?

  • I am writing in pages but the spell check keeps correcting the words into spanish. it is doing it on Facebook and my emails too.

can anyone help. I am writing in pages on my ipad in english. however, my spell check keepr checking everything in Spanish. I live in spain and bought the ipad in spain. yet I havent had this problem before? it is hapening on my Facebook and my emails.

Spellcheck follows the keyboard.  Use the "globe" key to switch the keyboard to English.

  • My primary keyboard is English UK and secondary one Spanish. Until now when switching keyboards the spell check would automatically change to the desired language. Somehow it does not happen anymore. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The keyboard doesn't normally play any role in Apple apps regarding spellcheck.  That  is determined by system prefs/keyboard/text/spelling.  Go the setup item at the bottom of the list and make sure that British English and Spanish are the only two boxes checked, and then set it to Automatic.  How well it works varies a lot.  You may also need to check Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar.
If you are still using Pages 4, spellcheck is determined by Inspector > Text > More > Language.  Make sure that is set to the right thing for what you want to do.

  • How to add Spanish spell check.

I will like to add the Spanish spell check.  I do not want to switch from English to Spanish.  I will like both to work simultaneously.
Can anyone provide steps to do this?
    Thanks.

  • Keynote Spanish Spell Check - Keynote Foreign Language Spell Check

After a fruitless search online and in Keynote Help (and just when I was on the verge of upgrading MS Office) I did learn how to spell check in foreign languages in Keynote. This works through the following Keynote menu selections:
Edit/Spelling/Spelling then click the tab at the bottom of the window to select your spell check language.
