Spell check in Webdypro text element

I have a text element in my view after entering text into it a letter is generated with the text in the text element view.
I need a fucntionality to spell check the text that has been entered.
I know there is a standard function module which is used for spell check in the backend sap, but since it has a dailogue popup it will not be able to be called from webdynpro.
would appreciate if someone can provide  a solution for this or atleast let me know if it is not possible at all.
Thanks,
shyam

If you use Firefox, there is a spell check built into the browser itself.  This works fine with Web Dynpro.  Misspellings get underlined in red and you can right mouse click on them to see suggestions.

Spell check is really something handled much better by the browser itself.  Firefox, Chrome, and Safari all have the feature. Unfortunetely IE6 and IE7  and even IE8 don't have this feature. You can get add-ons for IE that will add in spell check features.

  • How can I enable spell checking for a text box that is just one line, e.g. subject in e-mail?

In a prior version of Firefox I found a website somewhere that told me what to do to enable spell checking for text boxes that are just one line. I got used to being able to send an e-mail with a Subject Line that didn't have a misspelling. Now it doesn't work. Please tell me how I can enable that again. I am on a Mac using Firefox 6.0.2. Thanks!

    See:
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/layout.spellcheckDefault
You can set the pref <b>layout.spellcheckDefault</b> to <i>2</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

  • Why does spell checker skip some text captions?

I spell checked my project and found typos. But there was another typo on the very first slide, first text caption, which it left behind. Why did it do this?
I thought, maybe this typo is in my dicitonary, so I deleted more letters from the word, and it still did not find it.
Then, my search on this topic I found advice to export all captions to Word and spell check there, then reimport back into Captivate. Is there something I don't understand here? Why does spell check find some errors and not others?
    Please straighten me out.
    Thx!

    Hi there
Just a WAG here, but what had focus when you kicked off the spell checker? My thought here is that many spell checkers work in "directions". For example, in some apps, you choose whether you search from the selected point forward or from the selected point backward. So assuming Captivate is programmed to work in "this point forward" mode only and you have perhaps slide three selected, that would explain why earlier slides would be skipped.
Note that it's only a theory at this point. Either way, I'd strongly suggest you consider filing a bug report to the development team about it so they can investigate. (Link to the reporting form is in my sig)

  • Multilingual spell check support in WYSIWYG element.

    Hi All,
I am using site studio for creating a website where author can contribute in many languages.
i wanted to know whether WYSIWYG provide any support for multilingual spell check.
if yes how we can enable it.
    please help........
    Thanks
    Somesh

    Hi Somesh,
you are right - it is a feature of the WYSIWYG editor. Site Studio may use two: FCKeditor (default) or Ephox Edit Live - see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10614/e02_considerations.htm#SSMAN259
Either of them has an option for spell checker - see http://docs.cksource.com/FCKeditor_2.x/Developers_Guide/Configuration/Spell_Checker (it has an option to use IE's checker, though) and http://ephox.com/editlive
I could not find information if it is available in other languages. I'd recommend you to contact these companies directly as these are 3rd party products.

  • Spell Checker on Portal

    Hi,
How do I implement Spell Checking for a Web Dynpro application hosted on EP?
Meaning: I have a WDA Application that is running on portal - I have a Text Edit Box on a few views that require Spell Checking.
Does portal have an in built facility to check spell checking on these text fields?
    Thanks.

    Hello there,
Portal by itself does'nt provide any such service. But heres what you can do.
There are several Web services available that can do a spell check job. I guess theres also a Google API to do so. In either case, you could create a Button UI element that gets the text from your TextEdit and feeds it to this webservice/API and capture the results and put them in another context element.
Check for these keywords in a search engine - spell check web service
    Hope this helps.

  • ALL CAPS spell-check?

Is there a way to spell-check ALL CAPS text in an Acrobat document as one can in Word?

Here's what I am trying to do.  I have a form that I created using Adobe Livecycle Designer.  The end user will fill in the form fields in the dynamic PDF form.  One of the form fields allows users to type in free text such as a description etc.  As they are typing in mixed upper-lower case sentences the spell-checker highlights any misspelled words.  If the end user types everything in CAPS the spell checker will not work.  Microsoft Word has the ability/option to spell check all caps.  Acrobat apparently does not.

  • Indesign CC spell check

I am using indesign CC and when I spell check the document i am working on it indicates that pretty much every word is spelled incorrectly (the aren't) I have check and my dictionary is set to English, however the spell check window indicates that it is set to Tamil (India)

That is THE place you set the language, other than as part of a style definition. Many users are confused by the dictionary options in the application preferences. This does not select a default language or affect the text in any way, it's just where you get to choose which dictionary vendor will be used, when more than one is installed, to spell-check and hyphenate text to which that particular language has been assigned.
As a character-level attribute, you have the ability to assigne the correct language to every bit of text in the document, so if you are mixing in "foreign" words they will be spell-checked according to the correct dictionary.

  • Email spell checking issues

After installing Lion I have 2 problems with mail. The first is when I come to send an email, my spell checker won't allow me to edit the text as the messafe gets sent as soon as I type. Sendin the whole message un checked.
The secondissue is with the rule I have set, in that it will forward the message to another address but won't attach the enclosure, any thoughts?

There was actually supposed to be spell-check capability available to developers to get started using it, in the latest 2.0 beta. Some inadvertent (?) glitch led to it being unavailable, but it's pretty certain at this point that 2.0 will definitely have spell-checking and auto-text (auto-correct) stuff in it, in the native PIM, available to devs to integrate into their apps and, I suppose, possibly even in text fields in web forms.

  • Spell Check Entire Site

    Hi,
Just created over 300 pages in Dreamweaver, and now want to
spell check. Is there a way to spell check the entire site? I can't
seriously believe that the only way to do it is to open each page.
After all if Find and Replace works on all files why doesn't Spell

What is everyone else doing? Is there an extension I need to

    Thanks much

  • Spell Checker Size Limit

Is there a limit to the size of a section of text that the Spell Checker in a text box can handle? I am getting a message, "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message in the pop-up window. If I just enter in a short section of text in the same text box, spell checker works fine.
I am working in APEX 3.1.
    Thanks in advance,
    John

An update on this question. I have been testing it today and I have found that the spell checker in a text area works with up to 255 words. Seems like maybe I have run up against the top limit for the spell checker - 255 words or hexadecimal FF??
Any insight on this would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    John

Your code works for me in Forms 10.1.2.3 and JRE Java Plug-in 1.5.0_15 with IE 7 ...
    I am also using jacob.jar 1.8 ....
Why do not you try what I did ? Use the webutil demo form to test basic OLE functionality first ... then add your code to the Form ... that should test your webutil configuration ...

just moved to Norway, and for school, I'll have to right stuff in norwegian. I found no way to change the language for the spell checker in Pages, Text Edit, and other programs. Is there a way to do this?

Sorry about that, forgot that for Norwegian you need to install Cocoaspell:

You change system prefs/international/languages (not input menu).
