Spell checker problems in Acrobat 9 Standard.

In acrobat 9 standard when performing a spell check the words run together. For instance in the sentence - I exercie in the morning - using the spell checker to correct the error in (exercise) the result is - I exercisein the morning. This error occurs in every instance and with every misspelled word that the spell checker finds. Quite annoying, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jeff

Ios spell check problem

I have some big problem with ios spell check specially on safari and yahoo forums and alike
1- sometimes , very often but not always, when i click on a word to be corrected.. The correction options flash for a minute and then immediately switch to options. like copy paste.. suggest.. Select etc..
I click on suggestion. The corrections flash for a second and the immediately switch to copy select suggestion... Not giving me a chance to pick the correction!
2- it learns miss spelled words and suggests misspelled words as correction..... Real annoying and confusing.
3- sometimes it does not even detect a wrong word and underline it with red... I have to review my whole text and pick out misspelling .. Those i can recognize.
Anyone have any solutions to these problems !

No... So far i have only noticed it on yahoo finance forums.(. The corrections popping out and disappearing real quick problem)
But the misspelled words not being underlined and misspelled words being added to the dictionary and offered as correction happens everywhere!
How does a word end up being added to the dictionary? Why would one not get an alert before the word is added..
As terrible of a speller as i am .. My dictionary must be filled with junk words now!

All in all are you guys happy with apple spell checker? Do u guys think it is intelligent enough and has good contextual word recognition/ recommendation algorithm!?
Why should google be able to do a much better job of making recommendations to a misspelling.?
I often resort to coping a misspelled word to google to get correct recommendations when apple says there are no replacement found and cant recognize the intended word . But with google no problem... Same exact misspelled word get recognized and corrections are recommended,

Spell check problem with windows version

Hi to everyone
I have a problem with Safari 5.1.1 (windows version) and the spell check, I change the language in the Spell Check dialog and it check the italian language.
When I close and open safari the spell check language is again in English
This happens with all four my PC's (2 with Windows 7, 1 with XP PRO SP3 and 1 with Vista)
There is a solution ?

IWeb 06 Spell Check problems

Hello there,
I have problems with the built-in spell-checker of iWeb. It does not recognize even simple english words! I just selected the english language in System Preferences > International but nothing! It continues to put a red line under those words. Anyone has some Ideas?

Is English at the top of the list is system prefs/international/languages?
Is English what you see at Edit > Spelling > Spelling > Dictionary?

Updating problem of acrobat standard to 8.1.3.

I tried to update my acrobat standard 8 to 8.1.3. The installation progress was stuck. I terminated the installation and tried again. This time, I received a message saying the installation failed.
What can I do?

Have you installed the previous updates? The updates usually have to be installed in order.

Spell Checker Problem

When I use a textarea with spell checker everything works for the first few steps...
The Checked text pops up, but if I click a question mark next to a bad word, a new little box pops up...
But it has an invalid URL so I get the IE error message!
The link the box is trying to open is:

Note the two periods after 010308 in the URL above
if I make that one period it works fine....where is this genarated and and how can I get this to work?

in the HTML source of the initial spelling window that does pop up (the page that lists the text)...I found this JavaScript (note the two dots are present there). How to fix?

Spell check problems

I have my mac air set to British spelling, but it still keeps trying to replace s with a z. How can i stop this?

What app are you talking about? For Pages you may need to go to Inspector > Text > More > Language. For MS stuff you have to use their own settings I think. For other Apple stuff, check Edit > Spelling > Show Spelling to see which dictionary is active.

Java BAdI implementation for Customer specific Spell check

In IS-M/AMC, I am working on implementation of a Java BAdI, namely ICustSpellCheck, which enables Customer Specific Spell check instead of the standard MS-Word spell check. Could someone provide pointers on the java code that goes into different methods of this class?

Spell check and word suggestion doesn't work Droid 4

My wife and I both have Motorola Droid 4s. I have had mine for almost a year, and she has had hers just a week. After I factory reset mine to fix a spell check problem, I noticed that the spell check still doesn't automatically fix errors, and there is no word suggestion. Her's is doing the same thing. When I looked for this issue online, I found numerous other Motorola Droid 4 owners having the same problem.
Since we text a LOT, this is certainly a major inconvenience. We would like to know if there is a fix for this issue, is it OS version and phone specific, and when an update/fix can be expected.

The settings you gave me are the same as I and my wife have set except for the keyboard and input methods. For us, android is checked but disabled (gray), moto chinese input is checked, and swype is checked but disabled and gray. Same as it was when spell check and suggestions didn't work. Now ours is working but what is really interesting is that we never changed anything since it wasn't working. We just woke up the day after posting this and it was working. Hmm. I left the moto chinese checked because why tempt fate?
Thank you for your reply and information. That fact is, my spell check worked for a year and then suddenly it did not. My wife's didn't even out of the box, then the day after I post, ours works perfect. Coincidence? Who cares. =)

The new version of Pages in Mavericks crashes when I use spell checker.

The new Pages in Mavericks crashes each time I use spell checker. I have to Force Quit each time I use spell. I've been using Pages for many years with no problems. This is a first. I don't know if it relates to Mail's spell checker problem I've also been having since upgrading to Mavericks. In Mail, some words that I commonly misspell (like hte for the) are no longer corrected when I send mail. Anyone else have this problem? Any workarounds or clues as to how to fix the issue?

Safari 5.1 spell check- ignore button kicks out of e-mail

Using Safari 5.1. When I use spell check and use the ignore button it logs me out. I use
Office Outlook Web Acces for company e-mails. Also while writting this question tried using
spell check and click ignore button, it also kick me from the discussion group. Went back to using
5.0.3 and works fine. Some one at Apple needs to fix the many spell check problems......

Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file.
Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash.
~ (Tilde) character represents your Home folder.
And check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari to test.

Thunderbird 31 "Spell Check As Type" turns off after 1or 2 corrections. Win 7 system.

Installed TB 31.4, and since updated to 31.6. System is Win 7, up to date, Core i7 and tons of RAM etc.. Used UK English executable but later overwrote it with the US version to see if would fix a spell check problem. The option Check Spelling has always worked (as long as a character is not accidentally selected - a trap for new starters) but ongoing spell checks produce the wiggly underlines, but after a small number are right click corrected, eg. 1, 2 or 3 (varies) the rest of the wiggly lines disappear. I noticed they tended to be in other sentences and lines, but found later that makes no difference. Tried US, UK and Australian dictionaries. Tried Safe Mode. Only use Send Later in TB, but have Firefox with some extensions, but mostly disabled, and used TB with Firefox closed. Also have LibreOffice installed, recently updated. Changed mail-compose-max-recycled-windows from 1 to 0. Use Comodo Internet Security suite, but tried offline with all options off. Nothing tried has made any difference.

Installed British English version of Thunderbird 38.04 beta on top of TB 31.6 (US English version). Has cured the spell check failures, ie. Spell Check As You Type turning itself off on correcting a word or two. Tested with both UK English and Australian English dictionaries. Have not changed mail-compose-max-recycled-windows back from 0 to 1 (will test that and anything else if you request). Many thanks.

When i've turned of my mac, and power it back up, and launch pages, it opens your last opened document... How do i stop that, and make it open the template at launch?
My spell check is all over the place. Suggesting words from many languages, plus it says words, that are correctly spelled, are wrong?

Which system are you on? Snow Leopard, Lion?
In Pages you change the opening document in the Preferences. Click on Choose if you want to do a change.
Concerning the spell check problem I am not sure understand your description. Could it be that you have chosen All in the Inspector palette > T tab > More > Language > All?

I've been using JTidy for HTML syntax checking. It's a java port of Html Tidy, and it works pretty good. The documentation is pretty sparse, but I think they're intent was to have people refer to the HTML Tidy documentation anyway (JTidy mimics HTML tidy even down to the bugs). Also, it doesn't look like there's been much upkeep activity but....it's free. anyway, here's the link:

Acrobat Standard 9.1.2 update problem?

I'm running Acrobat Standard 9 on Windows Vista Ultimate.
Right after installing the Acrobat 9.1.2 update, but before restarting my system, I tried to open a PDF file, and experienced cascading file openings, where Acrobat seemed to be trying to open every PDF file on my hard drive in a separate window. Each window header contains the statement: "Adobe Acrobat not responding." After shutting down Acrobat through Task Manager, I then restarted my system, thinking that the problem was a failure to complete the update installation, but when I just tried to start Acrobat (without trying to open any file), it automatically began opening multiple PDF files again.
At that point, I ran a restore to a previous Acrobat version, but did not restart my system. After the restore was complete, my desktop displayed two Acrobat startup icons, one for v9.1.2 and one for the previous version. I tried to start Acrobat by clicking the previous verion icon, but had the same problem with automatic multiple file openings. When I checked the software list in Control Panel, I found that it only contained v9.1.2, and not the supposedly restored version. Does anyone know if I had to restart my system to make the restore work?
When it looked like the restore to previous version had not worked, I did an Acrobat program repair through Control Panel, and restarted my system, but when I tried to start Acrobat, the same problem occurred. Every time it occurs, I have to shut down Acrobat through Task Manager.
I never experienced this problem until I installed the 9.1.2 update. Has anyone else experienced problems with this update? Does anyone here know the cause of the automatic multiple file opening problem?

As far as I'm concerned, there is something screwy about this whole release. I have used Acrobat Standard since v4.0, and was forced to buy v8 or v9 when I upgraded my OS to Vista, so I chose v9. However, the most important feature to me (besides converting other documents to PDF files), something called FreeText, was replaced by something now called Typewriter. Unfortunately, where FreeText was intuitive and seamless, I cannot view the result of a Typewriter session in my document, after entering new text and closing the feature. On top of that, Adobe tech support seems to have gotten less accessible over the years.
This new problem has now rendered my Acrobat program completely unusable, and for some reason, Adobe's Internet support contact form doesn't even interact with my inputs. This forum has proved useless to me for any problem-solving. Anybody from Adobe Engineering listening?
