Is there a setting within iMovie that will provide for a different color background than black for titles?

Placing a title over a color background
1 In the timeline viewer, select the video clip to the right of where you want to add a title or text
and drag the clip to the right to create a gap.
2 Click the clip viewer button and locate the new color clip (it will be black).
3 Select the color clip and choose File > Show Info.
4 Click the Color box (shown below) and choose a color for the clip.
5 Click Select and close the Color box.
6 Follow the instructions above for creating a title, but don’t choose the Over Black checkbox. A
color clip is technically a video clip.

IOS 6, spellchecking for more then 1 language??

Hello
On my Mac i am able to write in more then one language and have spellchecking active.
On my ipHone 4S with iOS 6.1, i am able to have the spellchecking for my main language (German), but if i want also use the English (UK) and Dutch language i got no checking and suggestions for this.
When i now write in another language I got idiot suggestions in German and every word i write i need the push the "x" to ignore its suggestions
Is their a way to get this working?

In iOS, spellcheck follows the keyboard. So you activate the keyboards for the languages you want and then switch among them via the "globe" key to get the appropriate spellcheck.

I just got imovie for my iphone. Not bad so far.
Except: how do I turn off sound effects for titles? I just want to add titles to my movie like regular imovie on my mac (or even windows movie maker). However each subtitle has a sound effect -

Settings > General > keyboard > Autocorrect

Resizing Bug for Titles

Hello,
I'm using FCPX 10.1 and experiencing a weird bug for the title/text.
Whenever I'm trying to resize a text whether through Text menu or Video menu Transform - Scale after a certain size it cuts of the some part of the text.
Does anybody know how to resolve this issue or should I simply stop trying to use Titles on FCPX and continue using AE for titles.

What I'd be interested in knowing are what are the specs on your mac? Year, model and GPU vRAM size. My mac is a late 09 iMac i7 with ATI Radeon 4850 with 512MB of onboard RAM. My guess is that Apple is phasing out support for these older Macs and/or the onboard vram size of 512MB is no longer adequate.
I also suggest going to Final Cut Pro (menu) > Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback and raising holy **** about it. Having text fail like this in such a low resolution venue as video is absolutely unforgivable. (BTW - these problems do NOT happen in Motion.)

Account ID for Title (32 Digit) appears in red after next

In the viewer builder, after I enter all of the Viewer Details information and click next, a new dialog box appears highlighted in red. It says Account ID for Title (32 Digit). I cannot advance to the next phases until I have it. Where can I find this 32 digit number?

Hi Luke,
Probably you are trying to create a viewer for a brand new publication.
Make sure that you have at least uploaded (and maybe published) one folio into the corresponding account using folio builder (InDesign) and folio producer (digitalpublishing.acrobat.com). Then try creating the viewer.
I think this occurs when there are no folios found and the viewer does a fallback to the old workflow where you would get a 32char account ID

topic. The AWTEventListener can listen to events
other than MouseEvents.

but ComponentListener can know when we can change frame position.

Training Spellcheck for acronyms

Can someone point me to Apple's guidance for training Spellcheck?
In iOS 7, one could train spellcheck to recognize acronyms by, e.g., typing 'My Story (MS)' so that when you subsequently typed 'ms' it would appear as 'MS'.
In iOS 8, this works occasionally only and often forgets. (Similarly, training QuickType by selecting text and double-tapping the shift key to get 'all caps' suggestions, is tedious and works only some of the time.) I have tried a number of methods but only with partial success along various paths.

Adding backdrops for titles - best method???

Hi,
I was wondering how other people do this. What I want to do is add some custom backdrops for titles and such. Is it best to just layer up a bunch of stuff in FCE, like different colors and shapes on different tracks or to create a file in an image editor and then import the image? If I do use an image editor, like PhotoShop or Canvas, what is the best file format to use? What file formats support transaparent areas which are in the image (e.g., if the image is just a circle, I want just the circle in the movie, not a white box with a circle inside it).

Often the easiest and most effective titles are simply superimposed over an appropriate piece of video. Titles over a static background are becoming quite rare....... which I suppose does not answer your question but could save you time !
Regarding your mention of circles, Piero has made a Frame Filter which can produce instant circular, oval and rectangular frames which can be customised. Download it here:-

how to make title bar have a fix colour for every OS platform ?

I think you can.
Have a look at
setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated() in the
Javadocs of JFrame and JDialog.

Timno, using LookAndFeel will make the colour of title bar dynamic, i will have different colour for different OS.
i want to set a specific colour for title bar in top level container component (JFrame or JDialog), then it will be the colour for every OS and the colour will not change even user set different colour scheme.

Email not valid for title (viewer builder)

hi everyone,
I'm on DPS professional edition, trying to set a new viewer for android, in the first screen I enter the email and password I used to create the folios (the folios are already in the folio producer, published as privated and free) but I keep getting the error EMAIL OR PASSWORD NOT VALID FOR TITLE
I've been looking for solutions in the forum, but cannot find it, there is an image in attachment in case it helps.
Any recomendation on how should I proceed?

ok, I called Adobe customer care and the problem has been fixed, here we go:
login with the master account
go to Account Administration and create a new user (the new user has to be different from the master, and it has to be a real email adress
give this new user all access
logout from the dashboard
click on forgot your password, it will set a password for DPS dashboard
login with the new user id
now you can create the viewer app

The Control Button In FCP Viewer Screen For Titling - Missing.

I'm unable to get the Viewer Text in my viewer screen in FCP. I need it for titling. Re-installing doesn't get it to re-appear and I'm nervously stuck.

I'm not too happy about your not being too happy.Restarting is a completely different option from reinstalling FCP. There is nothing in your two previous posts to suggest you have been using FCP for a long time, in fact, the language you used indicates the opposite. Your use of the term "programme" suggests there is a translation issue which is not m problem, it's yours. All I can do is attempt to get you clarify what you're really trying to do.
You're not happy? Push the report button. One does not acheive the status of being a Level 7 participant around here without upsetting a few people along the way.

What To Use For Titling

I need to work on some titles with effects that go beyond PP.
I heard of some third party plugins that are for titling - Boris Red/Graffiti, proDad Heroglyphs, etc.
I also heard that AE does titling well.
What does everyone reccomend?
And is it hard (if I'm not used to AE) to use it for titling?

Only question is, is it better to render the title and the import it into PP, or use Dynamic Link - I heard that Dynamic Link causes everything to run slowly?
Also, does anyone use Boris Red or Graffiti as opposed to AE?
