Spellcheck panel appears when Acrobat 6.0 is launched

Not sure what app panel is appearing but acrobat 6.0 professional launched only a few times [recently reinstalled to this machine] before the spellcheck panel appeared.  Trying to find out if this possibly be an adobe applet?  Has anyone seen this?  Seeking guidance

The spellcheck is available for comments and form fields. Looks like you have a form and a JavaScript in the form may be activating the spellcheck. That is all I can think of. Normally, AA6 has F7 as the key for spellchecking. There is not a standard option for having it check on opening a PDF, but there is an option to spell check as you type. Maybe something is being imported to a field and that is interpreted as typing.

  • Texts in pdf form don't appear when viewing in Acrobat nor in Reader.

Texts in pdf form don't appear when viewing in Acrobat nor in Reader nor when printed after the form has been filled. But the texts appear when one clicks inside the field. What is the solution to be able to print and view all of the texts in all of the fields that have been typed.

More than likely caused by someone filling out the form with Mac Preview.

I have an even simpler method. I use MyPublisher to print my books. I select their page layout for a two-page spread, drag and drop the image. DONE!  I understand that most people have their favorite places to have work done. I have been extremely pleased with MyPublisher.com, so I haven't even tried the book module in Lightroom.

  • A tool-switching panel disappears, when a dialog is displayed.

We are currently developing the plug-in of Adobe Illustrator CS6.
Our CS6 Plug-in displays a modal dialog in tool selection.
Modal dialog appears when I change tools, and the tool-switching panel disappears.
I do not want to display a modal dialog on changing tool.
In the case of CS5, such a thing does not occur.
    Do you have any solution?

After a bunch of grumbling, head-scratching, research, and experimentation, I identified a solution that works for us.
The consistent condition for users with this problem was that they had Acrobat (any version, near as we can tell) installed.  The browser used the Acrobat print dialog to print .pdf, and that dialog is the one that doesn't work.  Those who had only Adobe Reader were OK, since its print dialog worked.
The fix is to make the browser use Reader to process pdfs rather than Acrobat, and the Reader print dialog works great.
In the cases where no Reader was installed (only Acrobat), we installed it, and the Reader install reconfigured the browser to use the Reader with pdfs, instead of Acrobat.  The Reader install also makes itself the default application for all the standard pdf file types.  We initially thought, where both Reader and Acrobat were already installed, we could just re-associate the files with Reader and that would also correct the browser behavior.  But the browser explicitly associates an application with a file type, and does not rely on the computer associations to make that determination.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to figure out how to manually change that for IE 10 or 11.  Probably a registry hack for that, but we're not terribly interested in going there.  So, if the computer already had both Acrobat and Reader installed, we just removed and reinstalled Reader.  Presto, browser uses Reader and printing is fixed.
Of course, the down side is that after a Reader install, double-clicking a pdf file will bring up Reader, not Acrobat.  We told Acrobat users to run Acrobat first and use File/Open, or to right-click the file and use Open with.  If they want to play around with the file associations themselves, well, that's up to them.
    TSN, thanks for the response.

  • Some CGM graphics do not appear when FrameMaker files are converted to PDF

CGM files are exported from ISO (Arbortext Isodraw 7.0 CadProcess) files. Then they are imported into Adobe FrameMaker 7.2, where all elements of the illustration are visible and can be printed. The FrameMaker FM file is converted to a PDF file using the Adobe PDF converter function of Frame. When the PDF file is opened by Adobe Acrobat 8,0 Professional, some, but not all of the illustrations in the file exhibit this problem (The callouts and other text may appear, but the lines, curves, etc. do not). The illustration prints the same way it appears on the screen. When exporting the ISO file as a CGM, the following selections are made.
When importing file into Frame, "Import by Reference" is selected.
When creating PDF in Frame, the following selections are made.
Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

    Thanks, Michael.
I will give it a try.

First you should update to the latest version of Acrobat 8, since you say
you are running Acrobat 8, you should update to 8.2.5. Update your
FrameMaker to 7.2p158. Those two steps might do the trick. If that fails
try using a different settings file. Perhaps High Quality or Press
Quality. I would never use Standard for anything where fidelity is
    important.

  • HT5132 The pop up appears when I open aperture, I do not have a mobil me account with photos and the sync never seems to start and the dialogue box will not go away. How do I get rid of it?

When I open aperture a pop up appears that tells me that my mobil me photos will be moved. When I click OK, nothing happens and I have left it for hours. I can not get rid of the pop up and I can not get out of aperture. I have to force the computer to shut down. Any thoughts?

Quit Aperture - force quit if necessary (or try this:
If Aperture is unresponsive, how to avoid force quitting?
Launch Aperture again. When the panel appears, press the "Learn more" button, not o.k.
Then use the "File > Web Accounts > Manage Web Accounts" menu entry from Aperture's main menu bar and remove "MobileMe" from the list of accounts in the accounts pane by pressing "-".
If the above does not work, disconnect the internet (Wi-fi, Ethernet, whatever you have), before you launch Aperture again. Now the panel should no longer appear.
Also sign out of MobileMe in the System Preferences Mobile Me tab, to stop the panel to appear again.
    Good luck

  • "Internal Error Occurred" appears when .pdf is opened from Outlook 2010 email

"Internal Error Occurred" appears when .pdf is opened from Outlook 2010 email
I am absolutely pulling out my hair over this one!!
    PC/Win 7 64bit/Adobe XI/Office 2010
I have tried Uninstalling and re-installing
I have tried using an adobe software removal tool
I have tried modifying the security settings in reader
I've tried running repair on MS Office
If you open the .pdf from an email directly, it opens Reader with the error "Internal Error Occurred"
If you drag and drop the .pdf onto the desktop, and then open it, it opens.
If you open Adobe Reader FIRST, then open the .pdf from the email, it opens fine.
ONLY when you open a .pdf from an email with Adobe Reader closed (so Outlook is asking AR to open first, and then present the .pdf) is it behaving this way.
Hypothesis: Outlook 2010 does not like to open Adobe Reader.
SO....tell me all of you brilliant geniuses? How do I solve this puzzle and become an end user's hero?
PS: WorkAround - the only work around I have found for this at present, is that the user first opens up Adobe Reader and lets it run in the background. I pinned the shortcut to his task bar to remind him.

I have uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and installed Adobe Reader XI and everything works fine. This will be our current fix until a solution is found for the above error

  • When I print to PDF using Acrobat 11 Pro from any application the acrobat Reader does not launch automatically. Associations are correct. Thx for your help,  Bruce

When I print to PDF using Acrobat 11 Pro from any application the acrobat Reader does not launch automatically. Associations are correct. Happens from Chrome, IE, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Previously had deskPDF installed but uninstalled correctly. Can't find a preference setting for the auto launch. Thx for your help,  Bruce

A simple way is to flatten the form fields, which converts the field appearances to regular page contents. You can do this with JavaScript or PDF Optimizer (Advanced > PDF Optimizer > Discard Objects > Flatten form fields). A very nice script that adds a custom menu item can be found here: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • "This operation is not permitted" appears when re-saving/distributing a form.

I have a form that I created using Adobe LiveCycle Designer (ver 8.0) which I saved and distributed several months ago and has been working fine. Now even if I make no changes  to the form, if I save and Distribute it again, the message “This operation is not permitted” appears when the re-distributed form is opened in Adobe Reader. If I make no changes to the form and DON'T save it but I do Distribute it, it works fine. I made sure that "auto select" was set for all of the fonts--as suggested--but it made no difference. What else might be causing the problem? The error message is not very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Ahh the problem was that the file was secured with a password. The documentation mentions:
    Known Exceptions
    Raises
pdErrOpNotPermitted if saving is not permitted. Saving is permitted if either edit or editNotes (see PDPerms) is allowed, or you are doing a full save and saveAs is allowed.
So I looked for that exception in the docs and it said:
    pdErrOpNotPermitted
This operation is not permitted. Acrobat
security does not allow content copying
    or extraction. These operations should
    be permitted when the document’s
    master password is used.
So for anyone getting this error, try removing security from the file first.

  • Photos in 9.2 do not appear when viewed through screen sharing

I recently upgraded my Mac Mini, which stores my master iPhoto library, to iPhoto 9.2.  Because this Mac Mini is also used as a media server for an AppleTV, I almost always operate the computer through screen sharing using a MacBook Pro, rather than connecting it to a television. Both computers are running OS 10.6.8.
Since upgrading this setup to iPhoto 9.2, I can no longer view photos in my iPhoto library through screen sharing. Previously, I had noticed that I could not view certain other things through screen sharing (such as watching DVD's).  For example, I couldn't view individual photos in detail in iPhoto, but I could view them in grid view. Now I cannot even view them in grid view anymore.
Is there a graphics library that is not compatible with screen sharing that is now being completely used by iPhoto?  Is there a setting that I can check?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Michael.
I will give it a try.
