SpellCheck

Desktop has Reader-8 and I.E., Render a form in PDF, enter something into a text field, right-click on that field, the pop-up menu has the SpellChecker. However, it appears that it only checks that one field. Is there a way to let it Spell Check the entire Form ?

I have always found spell check to be "buggy" in every version of all of the iOS's that I have run on my original model iPad and my new iPad - especially when replying and typing posts in these forums. It works perfectly in every other application on my iPad but it has never worked perfectly in any web browser that I have used on my iPad - no matter what I have done to try to correct it. That is what MY experience has been with spell check on my iPads.
As for the crashes on your iPad try these basic troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit all apps and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Is it possible to spellcheck items in iCal

I cannot find a way to spellcheck (and fix) items that I've misspelled (and copied over and over) throughout my calendar. The contextual menu items in "Spelling & Grammar" do nothing. Does anyone know of a way to find/replace items that are misspelled?

You can't really filter properties from a specific class such as lists to specific users. You could create request offerings that use templates with the specific list item selected but they could sill change the selection if they wanted to.

How can I set a permanent default language for Firefox's spellcheck feature, so that I don't have to keep manually selecting the spellcheck language I want?

I have a few languages installed, and Firefox's spellcheck seems to decide which language to use ''at random''. So I have to keep manually selecting the language I want. 99% of the time I want English. So how can I set English as a permanent default language, and leave the manual selection for those infrequent occasions when I want another language spellchecked?

Firefox should store the last used dictionary in the spellchecker.dictionary pref that you can check on the about:config page.

I downloaded Firefox 4.0. Spellchecker is included and I have downloaded English Dictionary as Addon. It does not work on website. Spellchecker does not show up in Context Menu. I have tried every other source. Can you help please?

I understand that Spellchecker is pre-installed but I cannot verify this is the case with v.4.0 Firefox. I have right-clicked on webpages and it does not say Dictionary is missing, so I assume the problem remains with Spellchecker. I expected to find Spellchecker and Languages under Edit in nav bar but it does not show up, What must I do? Richard

You did download and install the French version?

Spellchecker doesn't work correctly in WordPress

The spellchecker will stop showing misspelled words when editing a post in WordPress. Here is a video of this happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_S2NZxjh2B8&feature=youtu.be It may happen in other applications as well but I really only use this one.

If you suspect or notice issues with the spell checker then you can also toggle Check Spelling off/on via the right-click context menu to reset the spell checker.
Note that some text editors may be using JavaScript to monitor your input that cause Firefox not to notice changes you made to the text.

Spellcheck and other problems on certain websites

I've posted this before, and haven't received an answer that worked. I visit one message board, 247sports.com, and I have two issues that I simply can't except. 1) Spellchecker keeps turning off. I've enabled it in options, but when I make a post it often is not working, and I have to right-click to turn it back on. Then the next post, it's off again. 2) Sometimes when I write out a post and click "post reply" nothing happens. The browser is broken and to make anymore posts I have to exit Firefox and restart. These issues may be on other sites, but as stated I only visit one message board--although I have seen spell checker off at times on other sites (such as here) when making a post. I have this same issue on another computer. I had a clean install (installed an SSD drive) with very few programs and a different virus checker--completely different setup, and Firefox did the exact same thing.
During my other requests, I've tried every suggestion (disabled Addons, reinstall, ect) and nothing has worked. Finally, I've downgraded to Firefox 9.01, and it works perfectly (on both computers). I don't have any of these issues with Chrome, but I really, really don't like Chrome. There simply is something different between versions Firefox 9.01 and 11 that doesn't work on the 247sports.com message board (primarily, but probably on other sites, too). I have very little understanding of web design, so I can't help there. So, until this is fixed (if ever), I'll stick with 9.01.

Spellchecker in Mail how do i exit it ?

Hi all, while using Mail on my MacBookPro i compose a new message and click SEND and it Checks the spelling and lets me correct it and then the Email gets sent.
Quite often i am looking at the email while the spellchecker is on the screen doing its stuff i see some words i would like to remove completely or edit a little more, but as soon as spellchecker has finished the email gets sent and i cant stop it being sent.
is there a way of setting the spellchecker so it doesnt send the email immediately after it has finished spell checking ?

In Mail > Preferences > Composing tab > set spell checking to "as I type". Then you can see the spelling errors before you send.

Spellchecking doesn't work in hotmail

I've recently changed my browser to firefox from internet explorer and now the spellchecker doesn't work in hotmail. It says the browser is checking the spelling automatically but it's not. I found a forum thread that told me to right click make sure there's a tick next to check spelling, but check spelling doesn't come up when I right click, neither does languages. I also went to about:config and there is already a 1 next to layout.spellcheckdefault.

Spellcheck in Safari java applets no longer working

I just switched my Powermac G4 to Leopard from Tiger, updated everything (all software and java via software updater) and now check spelling while typing doesn't work anymore in Java applets, Why is this? is this a Safari 3 or Leopard issue?
any ideas or suggestions would be helpfully in fixing this issue for me... thanks in advance!

I think I've solved the problem... but I believe it not to be the best solution, seeing as I had to use J2SE 1.4.2 instead of J2SE 5.0 to solve the issue of enabling spellchecking for java applets.
Anyone knows a way in which I can get spellchecking enabled using J2SE 5.0 ?

Slow Spellcheck Launch

Hello. I am running InDesign CS6 on a MacBook Air. When I try to run a full spellcheck (not dynamic spelling), the spellcheck takes 2-3 minutes to launch. Once launched, it runs quickly. But the painfully slow startup causes me to not use it like I should

Generally, changes in behavior are associated with changes in the preferences settings. Try recreating the preference files by holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift when launching Photoshop Elements. If you get the timing right, you will see a dialog that asks if you want to delete the settings file. Do so. This will reset the application to default settings and may get rid of the slow opening behavior.

Spelling and Spellchecking with non-English

Hi all,
I'm happy about using Adobe Story.
I'm writing in German and would like to know how I can change the spellchecking language.
And if this is not possible I would like to know how to deactivate the spellchecking. It's annoying if every word is underlined red

We have tried the scenario on German build, but couldn't able to reproduce the same. As per my initial investigation, I think you have signed-in the application with English locale selected.
Could you please try to reproduce the Issue with the following Steps:
a) Open the application on a browser window.
b) Select the locale as 'Deutsch' as shown on the Top right corner of the window.
c) Now, sign-in the application with your log-in credentials.
d) Create a new Script and try to reproduce the Issue.
Result: It should be working fine without any Issues.
If still you are able to reproduce the Issue, please send us more specific details or any specific steps, it would help us in investigating the issue faster.
