Is this the correct type of Ram for a mac mini?
I have a 2007 Mac mini, and want to go from 1gig to 2 gigs of Ram.
I currently have 2 512's
I need to know 2 things. (i'm pretty sure on both but i'm not a huge hardware guy to bare with me)
1. Will there be any compatibility problems? I.e if i upgrade to 2 gigs will it even help or because the rest of the computer is not being upgraded will it be useless?
2. If i'm good to go, Is this the correct type of Ram? http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=4E665783A5CA7304
Not sure if these are needed but will post anyway:
Model Name: Mac mini
Model Identifier: Macmini2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Type: DDR2 SDRAM
Thank you in advance <3NO, it will NOT work.
You have to find the memory specific for Mac, and rule of thumb, Mac Intel chips usually take "ECC" memory. On occasions, You can get away with Non-ECC (on certain PPC Power Mac G5 towers) -- You can check on-line stores, like Newegg, Tigerdirect, or Goolge search for the Mac Mini memory. I got mine (for my two Mac 2,1) on line, and I put 4G (2x 2G), although only 3G was available.
It is worth of upgrade it. just need to find the right memory. -
Is this the correct syntax to submit a job using DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT?
Hello,
Is this the correct syntax to submit a job?
DECLARE

v_interval VARCHAR2(1000) := 'trunc(SYSDATE)+1+7/24';

COMMIT;
END;
Thanks
DougDECLARE
v_job_number NUMBER;
v_job_command VARCHAR2(1000) := 'BEGIN
PREPARE_ORACLE_TEXT_SEARCH; END;';
v_interval VARCHAR2(1000) :=
'trunc(SYSDATE)+1+7/24';
BEGIN
DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT(v_job_number, v_job_command, sysdate,
v_interval, false);
COMMIT;
END;
About your error:
PLS-00201: identifier 'PREPARE_ORACLE_TEXT_SEARCH'
must be declared
ORA-06550: line 1, column 96:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
The problem is that the job cannot find the procedure
(maybe own by an other user). The user who run the
job is not the same as the owner of the package.
Bye, AronYou forget the semicolon after END.
But we don't need here begin - end Block.
So it's OK.
v_job_command VARCHAR2(1000) := 'PREPARE_ORACLE_TEXT_SEARCH;'[b];
As you right mentioned, it is probably problem with owner or typo in the name of procedure.

Is this the correct area for IPhoto 7.1.5?
Trying to fix a friends computer (a thankless task). It's a dualgig G4 with OS 10.4.11
Finally got just about everything working but IPhoto won't launch. Did a complete update from OS10.4 and all appropriate apps including from IPhoto 7.0.1
first, is this the correct area? In the heading for Iphoto discussions, it jumps form iphoto 6 to iphoto 08.
Since before I did the software updates, IPhoto would not launch either from the doc or the program icon in the application folder. Any ideas what to do?Yes. This is the correct forum. iPhoto 7.1.5 is iPhoto 08. This is the numbering relationship between iPhoto and iLife:
▪ iPhoto 1: released January 2002
▪ iPhoto 2 (iLife): released January 2003
▪ iPhoto 4 (iLife '04): released January 2004
▪ iPhoto 5 (iLife '05): released January 2005
▪ iPhoto 6 (iLife '06): released January 2006
▪ iPhoto 7 (iLife '08): released August 2007
▪ iPhoto 8 (iLife '09): released January 2009
▪ iPhoto 9 (iLife '11): released October 2010
What happens when you try to launch iPhoto?
Try the following: delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences. -

For this Board:
ASUS Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel MotherboardYes, that RAM will fit in your motherboard. At $109, it's well worth it to get 2 kits to get 24GB... if your budget allows.

Is this the correct procedure ?
Hi experts,
As per my knowledge i am following the following procedure for
extracting Inventory data.Please suggest me whether it is correct
or not:
1.Activate 2Lis_03_bx datasource in rsa5 and run intialization of
setup tables in the tcode MCNB and transport in
rsa6.Replicate datasource into bi system. Create transformations
between datasource and Infocube.Create Info package with
generate Initial status and load the data upto PSA.
Create DTP and set it to Delta With Get data by request and load
data to the info cube.Compress the request with No marker update
not set.( I unchecked the check box and compressed the request ).
the setting Get data by request.
2.Activate 2Lis_03_bf datasource in rsa5 & LBWE fill the setup
tables in the transaction oli1bw and transport in
rsa6.Replicate datasource into bi system. Create transformations
between datasource and DSO.Create Init of delta with data
transfer Info package and load the data upto PSA..
Create DTP and set it to Delta With Get data by request and load
data to the DSO. And then create DTP with Delta with get data by
request between DSO and infocube and load the data into the
same cube in which the 2lis_03_bx was loaded and Compress the
request with No marker update set. ( I checked the check box and
compressed the request ).
3.Activate 2Lis_03_um datasource in rsa5 & LBWE and fill the
setup tables in olizbw and transport
in rsa6.Replicate datasource into bi system. Create
transformations between datasource and DSO ( Same DSO in
which 2lis_03_bf was loaded ). Create Init of delta
with data transfer Info package and load the data upto PSA..
Create DTP and set it to Delta With Get data by request and load
data to the DSO. And then create DTP with Delta with get data by
request between DSO and infocube and load the data into the
same cube in which the 2lis_03_bx & 2lis_03_bf were loaded and
Compress the request with No marker update set. ( I checked the
check box and compressed the request ).
Can anyone please suggest me whether it is the correct procedure
or not and also suggest me what are the standard relevant cubes
and DSO's ( With keyfields ) which are used to load the data from
2lis_03_bx,2lis_03_bf, 2lis_03_um.
Full points will be assigned.
Thanks & Regards,
V N.Dear VN,
the way you are extracting is correct and while loading to the cube and doing the compression especially for inventory please follow the steps as follows.
2lis_03_BX = Stock initialization, (first we have to do this and check no marker update and compress)
2lis_03_BF = Material Moments, (do the loadu2026and donu2019t do compression)
2lis_03_UM = Revaluations, (after this load also completed do compression on both the loads normally)
NOTE: if you want to see for which request the no marker update option is set and for which request the option is not used, go to the log file of each compression and if you see messages like REF POINT UPDATE then the marker was not updated in this compression.
Please assign points if it helps...
still you need any further calirify please let us know..
Thanks,

I am having trouble installing new adobe flash player, they ask for my pw, isnt this the same PW I use for APPLE? the new pw i just created works for other functions! thanks. Miss Curity
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you install an application, you have to type your user password, which is different than your Apple ID password. You set your user password when you got your computer.
If you do not remember the user password, follow these steps to reset the user password > http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4101 You will have to reset your Keychain > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1631 -
Is this the correct windows for my mac?
I hope i'm not being really annoying with posting so many questions....
This site, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US , says for my mac, the MacBook Pro 13-inch, Late 2011 should work for Windows 8 64bit, windows 7 64 bit and winodws 7 32 bit.
With that in mind, I chose what seems to be the newest, the windows 8 64 bit.
I found this on amazon and just wanted to make sure this is what i need. is this the full install cd and not just an upgrade? http://www.amazon.com/Windows-System-Builder-OEM-64-Bit/dp/B0094NY3R0/ref=sr_1_1 ?ie=UTF8&qid=1377372064&sr=8-1&keywords=windows+8+64+bit+full
i tried looking, but im not very tech savy, so i just got confused....It is annoying to not just ask in the same thread you had already...
Title suggestion: Windows 8 OEM System Builder
That being said, 8.1 is due in October. Not sure if system builder will allow or not, so you might want to shop Microsoft for retail or wait for "buy now and get free upgrade"
8.1 runs smoother and nicer than 7 once you turn off Metro (which 8.1 makes easy).
Links to Amazon: anything from "ref" on are just extra and not needed. Search terms, user wish list location and ID.
Windows 8.1 Preview is free download but I think you need to be running 7 or 8 already, try:

I hope this is in the correct section....
I have an opinion to put out here into the community to see what everyone else thinks. I've been a huge Mac fan after switching over in 2006, but I haven't spent a lot of time here. I'd like to hear what some of the more experienced Mac users think.
I bought my late-2006 model iMac in 2006. It came with good ol' Tiger - don't remember what version it was. But, I did use it until 10.4.11 I think, or maybe 10.4.12? It wasn't until early 2010 that I went up to 10.6 (when the updates stopped for 10.4). 10.6 was flawless for me until I just recently moved to 10.7. It's been flawless as well - so far. So now I'm reading that 10.8 is next summer. Apple seems to be moving at lighting speeds on these OS versions. I have seen no real improvements since 10.6.
As of this summer, OS X 10.8 will say goodbye to my computer, and I love my white iMac. It has served me well, and it still does serve me well. I no longer participate in the gaming community, and I suppose if I did I wouldn't be using an all-in-one machine likely anyway. Six years of computing bliss, at least compared to my Windows days. (Actually, I hate it when people compare "Macs" to "Windows". You can't compare computers to OS's - that's a different story altogether, but I'll leave the reference here for the sake of making my point.) My iMac still looks as new as it did the day that I took it out of the box, with it's still-shrink-wrapped remote sticking to the side of the monitor like a forgotten toy. But now I'm a little perturbed, and you might expect it's because I won't be receiving any support for my computer after this summer arrives. That's not exactly it.
My machine is an Intel machine - not a Motorola. 10.7 has already cut the throats of those who use Rosetta-based software - now with 10.8 they are cutting off their first line of Intel-based machines. And for what? Do you mean to tell me that the limited variety of hardware in these machines is too much to support for a new OS? I could see if these machines were 32-bit, but they are 64-bit!! My little Core 2 Duo runs just as fast with 10.7 as it did with 10.4, maybe faster.
I planned on buying a new iMac soon before all of this anyway, but now with all of these OS releases every year it makes me wonder how long my $1500.00+ investment is going to go next time. If I buy a new iMac today, will I get six years out of it? I know that six years is a lot of time for a machine these days anyway; much longer than most will stick with one. But I'm one of those people that don't fix things that aren't broke. As long as my computer does what I need it to do, and it's not bogging down all of the time, I'm not buying a new one. I just can't see disposing of my iMac (or selling for almost nothing) because I can't update it anymore. I wonder how long they will release updates for 10.7?
I suppose this is just all new to me because with the way budget PC's work with Windows, you don't get cut from OS support because each piece of hardware is replaceable. (Driver support) And, it's a very long time in between Windows versions where CPU is going to cut you out, or Microsoft just quits providing updates. So, it this basically how the Apple guys and gals work? I feel sorry for those who bought a G5 iMac. They were cut off after 10.5 I guess, with no more than three years of OS support.
As I said, I know that it's time for me to update my iMac anyway, and I don't want it to sound like I'm speaking ONLY because my machine will be left behind. I just don't see why it's necessary. And just for fun, I think I'll pull out my 12 year old PC and install Windows 7 on it tomorrow. (Sorry - couldn't resist.)Well, I was asked when I posted the message whether or not the post was to be marked as a "question" and I answered no. And as such, it is more of an opinion collection sort of post. But then, I did decided to include some questions. I went back and skimmed my message and counted four questions. The question marks are dead giveaways.
I understand this message board is commonly used for topics such as, "How do I boot my computer?" or "What's the best way to back up my computer?", and so I chose the message topic carefully. If this type of dialog doesn't belong here or is not accepted in this community, please feel free to move it, have it moved, or delete it. I just thought I might get some feedback from those who have been using Macs for some time. The tone of the first response suggests that I may have struck a nerve somewhere. Rest assured, it's only an observation from an individual that has been involved with computers for 28 years. -

Is this the correct flash player?
I have uninstalled & down loaded Flash player 10 3-4 times. When I check the version installed it says I have 10,0,45,2.
The way it reads on the Adobe web site is 10.0.45.2. Why the difference? One has commas and one has periods.
When I go to use some sites that require Flash Player (not all), it doesn't work. What is the problem??
I am on a Mac Book Pro OS 10.6.3
Please help!!I'm on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.3 and 10.0.45.2 is the most current Flash Player for browsers.
10.0.22.87 is the most current standalone Flash Player, at least according to my Adobe updaters for CS4 and CS5, because they say there are no new updates for my Adobe products at this time. -
Is this the correct place to ask apple a question?
Do I ask Apple a question here? Can't find anywhere else to ask.
wdl12, I'd suggest you start a new topic with your issue (use the "Post a new topic" link at the top of each main topic page). Not only is your problem on a Mac and not Windows (this is the iTunes for Windows forum), it's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. It's more courteous to the original poster, and is more likely to get your question the attention it deserves.
And since your questions appears to have more to do with another program (since iTunes can't burn DVDs except as data for backup), you'll probably want to look for a more appropriate forum in which to ask your question. I'd guess that you're using iDVD, so the iDVD forum will probably be the most appropriate.
Good luck. -
Ok, does anyone know the correct way to do this
Hi all
would someone beable to explain the correct way of attaching dynamic text to a rotaing menu so that the text moves with the image as it rotates,
I am now being told that in order to have dynamic text rotate/move I have to embed the font, by placing a text field on the stage outside my flash area and then set embedFonts property to true, and then apply a textformat.
first, is this the correct way of doing it?
second, can someone please explain(by breaking down into steps, as I am a newbie) how I go about setting embedFonts property to true and applying a textformat.
what I have created;
1.)I created a movieclip called 'textHolder' inside this has two dynamic text fields called 'headerText' & 'bodyText' <<<<< IS THIS CORRECT?
2.)I have an xml file which will load the text in as well as the images with the rotating menu, see below; <<<IS THIS CORRECT????
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<data>
<image name="image 1" path="img/img1.jpg"
textHolder.headerText="Sunset"
textHolder.bodyText="The hour of night is near, as the skies get blood-filled" />
<data>
3.What I am missing is what script I need for the main.as file, can anyone help here?
so to break down.
I have a rotating menu that is driven by xml, that loads images on the menu. I would also like to load text to the left of each image, and have the text be fixed with the image as it rotates.
I can post the as, but I would like to know if the above is correct first, if you would like to see the main script please say.
I have attached a jpg layout to give you an idea as to what I am trying to explain. can someone please help!!!!!!!!!
(this is my previous post: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/463213?tstart=0 but I feel its got lost a little along the way)MY CURRENT SCRIPT, CAN YOU SEE HOW TO ATTACH THE TEXT WITH THE IMAGE?
