Spelling checker on the iPad & iPhone

Australian English is more or less the same as British English, but because we use the dollar and not the pound we have a US keyboard.
The iPad does not seem to differentiate between various flavours of English - hence it replaces the sss's in my typing with zzz's, in words such "recognise", or "materialise", as would be normal in the USA. The Mac gets it - the iPad and iPhone do not...
This is VERY annoying but I cannot see how to change it.
Doez anyone have any ideaz?

That is correct. The OS language is not involved. And I think that makes a lot of sense. Why should someone have to change the language of the entire OS just to be able to spellcheck a single email he is writing in a second language he knows? In a more elaborated system like the full OS X you can set spell checking independently of both the system OS and the keyboard layout.
there is a £ sign - you have to switch to the #+= keyboard.
You can also hold down the $ key I think.

Looking for something in the iPad/iPhone Airport App

Hi
I have been waiting for the airport utility for iPad/iPhone to come as I frequently travel with just my iPad and Airport Express. However, I have been unable to configure it when away from home.
So, Apple has released a utility but it appears to be the most important feature for being on the road, that is, the ability to switch connection sharing (so you can hook up to a hotel system).
Is it that I can't find it or it doesn't allow you to do it. In the iPad app, I am looking for the ability to switch between bridge mode and the other two.

The AirPort Utility App that is available with iOS 5 does pretty much everything that the Mac or PC versions do including controlling both the NAT & DHCP services to allow you reconfigure an AirPort as a bridge.

Organizing Albums in iPhoto on the iPad/iPhone

I have an iPad Air and an iPhone 5, and prefer to have my photos arranged by Albums, Not "events" But in iPhoto on these, when I look at the album view it arranges the albums alphabetically, whereas I want to have them arranged by topic - the topic organization I choose.
I edit and create the albums in iPhoto on my Mac, and have them organized the way I want there. Why doesn't it keep that arrangement of the albums? I can't find out any way to rearrange them the way I want them.
Why can't we organize things the way we want?
By the way, it is much easier to edit and organize o nthe mac, with its bigger screen and extra screens.
Also, is there a way to have Photos, or iPhoto (on the iPad & iPhone) access the keywords and titles I have given them in iPhoto on the Mac?

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run Option #4 to rebuild the database
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager (iPhoto 8 or earlier or IPhoto 11 and later) and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the
File ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 8 or earlier)
or
Library ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 9 or later)
menu option to rebuild the library.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Sorry, missed that fact. My memory is good, but short.
Try moving the "Calendar Cache" file to your Desktop. Quit iCal, and find the "Calendar Cache" file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars. Move that file to your Desktop. After that, (I remember that I recommended this before), as long as you are moving files to the Desktop, repeat the plist removal procedure once again, log out/in or restart.
You should also consider removing the "To Do's" from Mail before restarting iCal. When you open iCal turn off "Show Birthdays calendar" in iCal>Preferences...>General.
Are you syncing any data? If so, what method(s) are you using?

Ah, I understand the problem, and YES , that is a problem with the iPad, since there is no true File System within the iPad, there's no way to do what you're trying (at least that I know). I've had my iPad since May 2010, and have never been able to get past that.
This is one of the areas where and iPad (or any tablet) falls short of a true laptop or other computer.
Sorry to be the one to let you know that.
Unless someone can correct me, I think you're stuck with using another system to get your files uploaded.

If you can hide the status bar, it would be an option inside the app. I have one or two apps where that is an option but in most apps it is not.

I think i hit some important key accidentally. something changed. now when i receive photos, they only appear in the message and i have no thumbnails nor a way to download. those same e-mails with photos do fine on the iPad/iPhone, so it is my computer.

Since updating to iOS 7.0.2, when syncing my ipad and my iphone I get the message, "The ipad/phone cannot be synced because it cannot be read from or written to." When I deselect all photos from being synced to my devices, the message no longer appears. This tells me the problem is obviously related to iphoto. Reading a few forums on this matter tells me the solution has something to do with emptying a photo cache, deleting photos, then reimporting; everything is rather vague. I always empty trash in iphoto, then I secure empty trash in finder, then I erase free disc space in disc utility. What exact steps must I take so that itunes will once again sync all images from iphoto onto both my ipad and iphone?

For those that follow~
After speaking to Apple Support for about 2 hours, the issue has been narrowed down to a corruption problem in the computers iPhoto Library.
To confirm this:
Problem: When ticking "sync photos" in iTunes, your sync fails with the error "cannot be synced, unknown error -50". (syncing other data is OK, only when ticking photos is there a problem)
Test: HOLD alt/option (mac) & open iPhoto. You will be prompted to create a new Library. (the old one will be left untouched)
Import a few photos to your new library.
Quit iTUNES & re-open it. Connect your device & go to the photo tab. Click Sync Photos, you will see your new library. Sync - it should now work.
In iPhoto you can switch between your old & new Library using the FILE >Switch Library option.
Additionally: You may also import photos to your device by using iTunes "Sync Photos *From Folder* " option.
This is a work around to get your photos onto your device without using iPhoto.
This is not a fix, my issue is ongoing. I am posting only to help future readers. In my case rebuilding the iPhoto Library (hold option/alt when opening iPhoto) was not able to correct the problem.

I am currently using an iPhone 4 which has pretty much met up to my every expectations except for its small screen size considering that it is mobility advantages. I would like to ask some questions in regards to the iPad so as to decide to get either the wifi only version or the 3G + wifi version.
Q1: If I am to get the wifi only version, will I be able to use my iPhone 4's internet tethering to provide 3G connectivity on the iPad?
Q2: This question is for all who uses BOTH the iPad and iPhone (either 3GS or 4)... Do you use both the iPad and iPhone whenever you travel about? Other than a bigger screen and UI, the iPad pretty much functions like the iPhone. Why do you have both? Oh gosh, what a bummer...I was searching through the forums and I guess the 1st question has been asked and answered repeatedly. You are not able to tether the iPhone to the iPad, which means I will need to get an additional data plan just for it. Kinda dumb on a consumer level but I guess those are some of the restrictions the telcos have placed. (am I right? lol)

I am working on a site that I used Dreamweaver and Wordpress to create and I have an odd issue. The home page here:

It works perfectly on all browsers including iOS. The blog post below the rotating image is what I want to call attention to since you are able to scroll the text up and down on the iPad in a similar way than with other browsers.
Now if you goto a specific product page like this one:

you will not be able to scroll up and down the way you could on the homepage while using the iOS browser. I am trying to figure out why the scroll panel works on all other browsers but the iOS.
I think the home page works because it is built by wordpress and the individual pages were hand written by me but I am at a loss as to why they do not want to work.

I am pretty sure that the problem is the scrollable pane you implement using overflow:auto. Mobile WebKit doesn't support that overflow scrolling. You'll need to use a whole page that scrolls.
