Spelling Problems... Red dotted underline

Hi,
I don't mind having spell checker turned on in safari, but it's underlining too many correct and common word. Even the word "spelling" is underlined in the subject of this email.
any suggestions?

One test you can do to help narrow down things is to try Safari in another user account.
This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+\] to create a test one (and \[-\] to remove it if needed)

  • Tiny red dots underlining auto-fill address and name fields?

Just very recently, my computer started to underline, with tiny red dots, some of my inputs into address fields, and even now, while I am writing this message.
Is this a virus? What can it be?

    welcome to Discussions!
You probably have your Safari spell-checker on.
To disable it, open Safari, and go to Edit>Spelling and UNcheck "Check Spelling as you type".
    Good luck!

  • External display problems, Red dots.

Display on external monitor is plagued with red dots and horizontal lines, this only occurs with certain resolutions (particularly high resolutions).  I have a late 2010 revision of the Macbook Air ultimate 13inch, using a Griffin mini-display to DVI/HDMI (i have tried both HDMI and DVI), display is an ASUS 24inch (have also tried a dell 23inch, to the same problem).  I would really like to be able to use this display with my Air but the red flickering is annoying to view.

I have the same problem. I bought my Retina Macbook early so Jun 2012 I think and I got a new one for work Early 2013. Both have the same problem. I had the LCD burn in problem with the first one and when I asked apple about the red dots while they were replacing the display they said it was because it was trying to push too much data to the external display. I seriously doubt that but they said there would be an update to fix the problem which never came.
Right now my guess is that the DVI adapter I have maybe suspect but I haven't tried to replace it yet.

  • HT3302 my ipod got wet by the sprinklier but i check for the red dot and its not there. Yet i am still having problems with it sense. Does anybody know what is wrong?

My ipod got a little wet but it wasnt that bad. none of the inside was wet really and the red dot hasnt appeared.........i was wondering if there is something else wrong with it because it keeps pausing when i dont do anything to it

As a precaution I would dry the iPod by:
How to fix a wet iPod or iPhone | eHow.comfix-wet-ipod-iphone.html
After it is dry I would try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
For a nano the drying still applies
You have to find out how to reset the Nano
Yu can then try restoring via iTunes

  • How do I make the new voicemail notification (red dot) go away on iPhone 4?

I got a voicemail and listened to it and deleted it. now the little red dot over the phone icon is still on and won't go away. I have iPhone 4 and just updated to 4.3.5. I'm with TELUS in Canada. Any help would be apreciated.

why did you revive a thread that had been dead for two years? next time, make sure you're posting on an active thread.

I had the exact same problem. Iphone 5s on SpeakOut711/Rogers, Canada. There was no voicemail message, and yet the voicemail icon one the phone (dual spools thingy) stays on, regarless of how many times I check my voicemail.
I got it to 'reset' like this:
    - Call your own cell phone and leave yourself a voice message.
    - Wait for a few minutes.
    - Check your voicemail from your cell phone by pressing (touching?) the voicemail icon which has the red dot (although it may also work if you checked via land line, but not sure).
    - Delete your message.
You will notice that the icon disappears as soon as you hangup your call. It looks like some voicermail notification sync error between phone and the service provider.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • How do I remove red dot update from App Store icon

I just updated nine iPhone apps via iTunes during a recent sync of my iPhone (5s OSv8.1.2). Update and sync both went fine without a hitch. However, the App Store icon on my iPhone still has a red notification dot with a number 9. I've gone into the app, selected Updates, and noticed that all nine apps are listed there with an "Open" box next to them. I've opened each app and each works fine. I've powered off the phone; same problem.
How do I remove the red dot notification next to the App Store app?
    Thanks.

Hello, I finally went to the App Store support who rang me back and went through it.  It seems that Mountain Lion will not operate iPhoto 9.3.2, you have to have 9.4.2.  So trashed the application in my Applications folder (which has cleared my App Store of the hanging iPhoto updater) and they signposted me to the download for 9.4.2 (mind you it is taking hours to download!!)  I live in hope that this will fix it.  If it doesn't I'll let you know!

  • My ipod touch updated on its own and now I can't access any of the songs, show ared circle with a red dot and won't play.  My computer says thye songs are alol on the ipod.  Fix?

My ipod touch seems to have updated on its own, and now I can't access the songs, show a red circle with a red dot in the center.  Computer says the songs are still on the ipod.  Fix?

I have the same problem. I bought a 3rd party software (tunejack) and it allowed me to transfer my songs to my new pc. Now I can't play them because I am not authorized. It says I am but then it says im not.

  • External monitor filled with static, blue squares, and red dots

My family bought a Mac like 8 or so years ago. I am unsure of the exact model, but says iMac on the back (Which isn't very specific, so I apologise).
You'd expect problems after a few years, so when our mac became cluttered with multi-coloured lines, I wasn't surprised.
Eventually, it got to be a problem when the screen started to have larger lines whose lights seemed to be failing. It got to a point in which the whole screen had static, and there was very little of the screen that could actually be scene. It was easy enough to fix, we just got a new monitor.
It did the job, no more lines, the screen did have a yellow tint, but I wasn't worried.
Now, I was watching some youtube videos, then all of a sudden, both screens stopped, and red dots appeared. After countless efforts to exit the video, I unplugged the computer. When I turned it back on, it was even worse, with blue squares filling the screen, static filling it, and countless more red dots.
While the external monitor does not have the multicoloured lines, and such, both seem to have the same blue squares, static and red dots, at least for what I can tell.
Curiously enough, the waiting symbol for the cursor appeared and none of the screen problems overlapped the original.
Did I do something to it?
Is there some way to fix it, or will I have to get a new one?
Also, I apologise if this question is in the wrong category, I'm new.

    Your GPU is failing.
Lenovo might or might not fix it, although it's out of warranty. They are *extremely* well-aware of the problem that plagued these chips.

  • Polygons and red dots on screen

Sometimes, when I scroll down on web pages, green and red polygons take most of the screen.Oftentimes, red dots appear on the screen when I am playing a videogame (mostly in dark scenes). What is the problem and how is it solved? My guess is that it is a malfunctioning GPU that needs to be replaced, but I would rather not speculate and hear from a specialist. Model: ENVY Phoenix 810-330qeCPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHzGPU: AMD Radeon R9 270RAM: 8GB DDR3 1.6GHz

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I have read your post on how green and red pixels take up most of the screen when you scroll down web pages, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter! To correct this issue, I recommend re-installing all of the original software and hardware drivers that first came with your computer. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8). To update these drivers, please follow this resource on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8). If the red dots still appear on your display screen, I also recommend following this document on Display Quality Issues, which should help prevent the occurrence of dots and pixels when playing games and surfing the Internet.  Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Red Dot

    Hey There,
I have an iPhone 3G. On the phone icon, a red dot has appeared on the voicemail & it won't go away. I don't have voicemail on my account so I don't understand why it would be showing the red dot.
I took it to 2 geniuse meetings at two different apple stores and I got two different answers:
    it's a no service indicator
There's something wrong with your SYM card
Is anyone else having this problem???
    Thanks,
    Apple_Baby

If you're with AT&T and the phone is not jailbroken then you absolutely have VM...it comes with the service...
The red dot indicator for Mail or VM on jailbroken phones only shows the red dot and not a number within the red dot, which is the legal design, that number would correspond to the number of new emails or VM's you have. sounds to me like you are using a jailbroken device and thus we won't be much help here...

  • Red dots underneath text in the calendar

When I go to type in someone's birthday on a particular date, there are red dots that appear underneath the text.  It is only happening on one particular date, and I cannot figure out what is different from this date compared to other dates.

Looks like you didn't get a reply on your post, but it is still a problem.  Font size is supposedly changeable via "Accessibility" in Settings, but it doesn't work.  You can turn on "Zoom".

  • Network Accounts - Red Dot disappeared?

    Afternoon all
We have 12x iMacs on an Active Directory network. We have the usual 1-2 minute wait after boot before network accounts are available - however 10.8 gave us that red dot that clears once accounts are available, but in Mavericks there's a pop-up warning that disappears, but no red dot, so you can't tell when the problem has cleared and when you are able to log on.
Is this an option or has it been removed entirely?
    Thanks, Tom

I do believe it's fairly normal... one of the crazy things about a fully cooperative multitasking OS, it can try to connect before the Interfaces are up & ready.
Found a work-around. This command adds a delay, in this case 45 seconds, before displaying the Login Window.
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow StartupDelay -int 45
If the Login Window UI detects that the network servers are available when it starts, it will skip the delay, also if network servers become available before the delay expires, the Login Window UI cancels the delay and displays.

  • What is this red dot? How can i solve it?

    Hi,
I can not run it, because there are red dots. I know, it means the signal from DAQ  and the constans 500 are not same type, but i have to Multiply the analog voltage signal from daq. How can I solve it, how can i multiply the analog signal from daq (20mV) with 500? Or is there any option to convert them?
    Thanks

I would change your DAQ Assistant 1 to be continuous samples, 1 sample per second.  Then change the dynamic data type to a scaler numeric.  Part of your problem is that you are taking 25,000 samples, but only using 1.

  • Missing "red dot" apple mail notifications OS X Mavericks

Since installing the patch for Apple Mail, post-Mavericks, I no longer see the 'red dot' on the Mail icon in the dock, to indicate I have new mail. I want it back! Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?
    Thanks in advance.
    Catherine

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A folder window will open. Inside it there should be files with names as follows:
    Envelope Index
    ExternalUpdates.storedata
Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have longer names that begin as above. Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • Red dotted line appear on the screen

There is a red dotted horizontal line will occasionally appear on the playbook's screen while I'm browse the web. It will stay there for from seconds to minutes. That only appear with the browser app and happen once on the Pictures app. Seems like a software problems? Or hardware( stuck pixies)?
Anyone gets clue about what is this thing about?
Updated: Just found out there are blue dotted line as well.

    Hi Byron,
I am creating an application that could possibly identify and fix your issue. Based on the pictures, it could be one of three things
    Dead Pixels
    Misbehaving Pixels
    Hardware/Screen defect
The app will try to solve 1 & 2 by cycling through all the pixels using an algorithm I made. Hopefully this will fix.
    Cheers
