Spilled Coke on screen. Help please...

Alright, so I managed to get the Coke off in time before there was any major damage, but then I noticed the screen. From a glance one would think it appeared fine, but upon closer inspection, I see a huge ugly-looking spot.
I believe I have the glossy widescreen display.
What is this? What happened? Is there any way to easily fix this?

Just clean it. There is some expensive LCD screen cleaner you can buy, or just mix distilled water and isopropyl 50-50. Dip a microfiber cloth in it and very gently wipe the screen, then use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe it dry. Be gentle, and if there are any large particles try to brush them off instead of wiping them off.

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IMac g5 stalls on grey apple logo spinning gear screen, help please.

I hope someone can help, please.
I have an iMac G5 (without isight) and it doesn't want to startup. It stalls on the grey apple/spinning gear screen, with the spinning gear perpetually rotating. I've kept it on for at least twenty minutes and still nothing. Because, I've seen this screen stall when updating OSX before.
I've flashed the pram and the power management. I've also gone into single-user mode and done everything the apple support page has said: to no avail. I've tried to start in safe mode but I cannot.
    I'm running max os x 10.4.10.
One other thing worth noting, the light on the bottom right of the iMac case goes on when powering up but fades out and goes dark by the time I reach the grey apple screen?!?!?! I think I remeber this light always staying on when the computer was on.
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks!

It could be that your power supply is failing, see if you qualify for Apple's power supply or video and power issues.
    Please post back.

  • Curve 8530 White Screen, help please?

I have a white screen. It did not get damaged or wet in any way. I can hear my phone ringing, hear alerts and see the LCD indicator light flashing. I cannot press any buttons to answer the phone or see the screen. The screen will only turn white when charging and hooked up to the computer, it will not respond to any pushes of any buttons. My device is recognized by the desktop manager on my computer. I have done the update to 5.0 Bundle 1675. I have also done a back up. My supported networks are CDMA 800 and 1900. I have tried rebooting both by taking the battery out before and after updating to the new version. I have NO hourglass, just the white screen. Any ideas?

    Hi
You've certainly been trying to sort it. Try my own method because it involves wiping the device completely. You have a backup so you should be good.
This what I did to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before starting and printed it off.
If your device is functioning, perform a backup now if you haven't already done so saving the file to a place and in a name that you can easily locate on computer.
I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer thus removing the OS for the BB from the computer in order to ensure that the version I would reinstall would be a brand new downloaded version.
Get the latest Desk Top Software (DTS)
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&cp=OTC-DSKTPSW
and install it on the computer.
Get the correct latest version of the OS
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    and save it to computer.
To erase all the data on your BlackBerry device, complete the following steps.
    1) Download JL_Cmder from http://www.4shared.com/get/oqP9V-2Q/JL_Cmder_v19.html
    2) Install JL_Cmder to computer.
    3) Double check you have already backed-up the BB. If you DO NOT, you will lose ALL data.
    4) Make sure the DTS is closed and plug in the BB to computer via USB
    5) Go to the JL_Cmder on your computer and double click it to start. Now,this may take a few tries to connect, so keep trying until it does.
    6) On the first screen, Press any key to continue.
    7) Now, if your device uses a password, enter it now. If not, press "N"
    8) Press 4 to initiate the WIPE
    9) Press "Y" to continue
    10) Now type "blackberry" to continue
    11) On the BB you will see a white screen with a'507' Error. Don't worry, this is what you want! You are now ready to install the OS.
Launch the new Desk Top Software on the computer
1). On the home screen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Device > Update my device.
2). Click View Other Versions. Click the version of the new OS you previously downloaded.
3). Click Install. The DTM will install the OS and then provide you with a list of applications to install. If you have had difficulties with an app, do not install it.
Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is completed and the device has rebooted.
After 10 minutes reboot again by removing the battery whilst powered-on and leave it out for a couple of minutes.
Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functioning BB!

I have tried takin the battery out and just using the power supply cord but that didn't work at all, please help!

Hi! First a little gripping out. Both your messages leave a lot to be desired. Second neither of you posted your model number, so we don't even know what OS you are using. Third, you need to start your own message, not post on someone else's.
Now after gripping you out, start here.

  • MacBook pro stuck on white loading screen, help please.

Hi guys, yesterday I was playing on my MacBook pro and all of a sudden the screen went black and it turned off. Once trying to turn my laptop back on it was just stuck on the white loading screen with the appe logo and loading wheel. I've been surfing around the forum and tried some things that others have said worked for them but none seems to work for me, so I decided to create a question so I can get more personal help. I don't have any installation CDs for the MacBook, either which I know makes things more difficult but hopefully ill be able to solve this some other way. Please help if you can!

I can't help the other person, it's a old post and it sounds like they had a hardware issue anyway, which we can't fix here.
If you can start a new discussion in the MacBook forum and describe your problem in detail, perhaps we can assist.

  • Blue Screen Help Please!!

I have  Windows XP with SP 2 installed on my computer.  I have installed evrything on the disks and when I try to open the MSIPVS the program will not open and I get A message that says
"InterVideo?WinDVR Application has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."
and then it automatically closes the program and asks if I want to send a report.
So I took the advise of hpkuo "collection of tips"  and renamed the two files and then I did not get the message anymore.
But now I am not getting a picture or sound at all.  Just a blue screen.  I am in the United states and have that selected and Cable.  I am on a good feed (tv tested).  all settings seem to be correct.
    Help please

i think it is sp2 that cause the problem

  • T400: Ati driver causes freezing screen - help please

i have a t400 with win 7 64 bit ..but when i finsh the  instalation of ATI driver i got a freezed screen ..does it a driver problem or the ATI itself damaged?? if not how i can fix this problem ?? i  tried all the possible ways of instaltion the driver by windows update , by install the last version driver from lenovo and AMD..and all i got the same problem !! help me plzzz
    sorry for my bad english
Moderator Note: Edited subject to match content.

Before you updated the driver, what version was installed? What version are you installing? Is the switchable graphics setting set to high-performance? (turns graphics chip on) Also, make sure you have the latest BIOS. With 64-bit, I always suggest updating BIOS from bootable CD.

  • Timeline Window will not adjust, fills ENTIRE screen, help please?

All of a sudden my timeline window FILLS my screen and I cannot get to the bottom of the timeline to adjust the size. It has tons of extra grey space on top of the video tracks, and tons of extra space below the audio tracks. It makes editing difficult as I cannot move along the timeline or anything. I wish I could attach a screenshot. Basically just imagine the timeline window extending the ENTIRE size of the screen, with no way to make it smaller. Help!

  • Can not get pass opening screen, help please!!

First off, when I tried to turn of my emac earlier this evening it took a few tries. Then when I went to turn it back on, it got to the opening white screen, with the grey apple in the middle but would not go any further. I tried a few more times, with the same results, white screen, grey apple, no farther.
Any help will be much appreciated, I thank you in advance!!

You can also try to Start Up in Safe Mode, with one important warning: once it gets to the gray screen / Apple logo stage, walk away and leave it be for at least a half hour! When a Mac shuts down improperly (power failure, errors on shutdown, multiple force restarts before completing startup), on next start it will attempt to run a faceless variant of the Repair Disk utility in the background. Depending on the size of the hard drive, the amount stored on it, the processor speed, and the amount if any of damage detected, this can take anywhere from 5 minutes to over 30 minutes. If the process is interrupted and the Mac restarted or shut down, then it tries again from the beginning on the next start. This can obviously put you in a vicious loop if you're not aware of what it's trying to do.
Since the Safe Mode disc repair is faceless, you don't get any immediate feedback as to any errors being turned up. It's better to follow cosmichobo's advice and use the OS X Install disc to run Disk Utility from the Installer menu; that will let you see what's going on. Note that if any errors are reported repaired by Disk Utility/Repair Disk, you should immediately run it again --- it's possible for one disc error to mask others.
Another option would be to boot the Mac into single user mode and use the Unix file system check utility fsck (if you're not adverse to using the Unix command line prompt). Refer to Using Disk Utility and fsck for detailed instructions.

  • Yosemite Stuck at Black Apple Screen - HELP Please

Tried to install Yosemite on my Macbook Retina Pro stuck at Black Apple Screen Progress bar is about a third done. Beach Ball is spinning been more than five hours. Tried a reboot, zapping Pram etc. still no go. Should I reinstall old system and if so should I use my Time Machine back up or do a fresh install of Mavericks?
**** everything was working so nicely before I tried the Yosemite update.

    Hi,
Do you mean that you're unable to logon to Windows no matter via normal start or safe mode, and startup repair doesn't work with the disk?
For this error "gets stuck at 'Loaded: \Windows\system32\DRIVERS\avgidsha.sys' every time", hope this link can help you
