Spilled iced tea on my ipod help!!!

i spilled iced tea on my ipod mini and u was worried about it not working anymore. i told my dad about it and he ended up turning it on and i told him no don't turn it on it mught ruin it. i don't know what to do i don't want to have to buy a new ipod because of it

well i didn't actually spill on it i think it might be a bigger issue because what accutally happend was that i picked up my ipod and and it accidently slipped out of my hand and it to the glass like it was the whole unit was in a full glass of iced tea and what accualy happed was i dumped the iced tea out on the floor so i could rescue it imediately. can that be any worse than a spill?

how is my laptop working even though I spilled iced tea on it? The keyboard does not light up but works normally, and everything else seems to be in order! The front of the bottom is hot while the rest if mildly warm. I don't know if its going to have a problem in the future. I wiped off as much as I could with a cloth and left it open and upside down for 10-15 minutes. Any idea if I am in the clear?

  • I spilled Iced Tea on my Macbook Air. What should I do?

I spilled Iced Tea on my Macbook Air yesterday afternoon? What should I do?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Don't turn on the Mac. It may be damaged, so it's better not to turn it on. See > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5511
Take it to an Apple Store or reseller. If it was damaged, it's possibly better to replace it, as it may be cheaper

  • Spilled iced tea on n500 keyboard...help!

Hi, I recently bought an N500.  It has been a great laptop so far.  Unfortunately earlier today I spilled half a glass of iced tea onto the left side of the keyboard.  I wiped off and dried out as much as possible, but now, after reinstalling the keyboard, I'm finding that many of the keys don't work properly.  I'll press a T for example and both a T and a 5 will appear on the screen.  If I lived in the US I'd simply go out and buy a keyboard, but I'm in Egypt, and I'm guessing that finding a replacement keyboard for this model will be difficult.  Is there any way I could salvage the keyboard?  I checked out a "how to clean your laptop keyboard after spilling liquid on it" guide, but the keys in the guide don't look like the keys on the n500 keyboard.  I'm not sure how to go about cleaning these keys, if this would even solve the problem.
    All advice appreciated!

  • Spilled iced tea on macbook when it was on, it still turns on. What do I do?

I bought it from Best Buy and I only have warranty for a new battery. I tried to get all the liquid out and it's sitting in rice right now. I don't know how to take out the battery or anything. I have an appointment on Saturday (incidence ocurred on Tuesday), are they going to do anything for it?

Okay, thanks for the advice. I turned it on like 10 minutes later for no more than 3 minutes to save an important document that is due tomorrow. Hopefully it'll still work and not need too much money investment because I'm saving up for a clarinet and my family is broke-ish for an impending trip to Tampa for 2 weeks...
    It was my first laptop too. I hope I don't have to tell my mom because she'll never buy me something again. ;A;

  • Spilled tea on my iPod!

I spilled tea on my iPod, and now it's acting very strangely. It adjusts the volume up and down on its own, it skips during playback, and I hear static when I hook it up to my car adapter (that never happened before). I'm guessing it's dead and there's nothing I can do about it, but I thought I'd check here and make sure before I get a new one.

    Hello Everyone,
Although this resolution seems ingenious I must let you know that exposing your iPod to freezing temperatures can cause serious harm and it will void your warranty. Please see the following excerpt from the iPod Safety Guide available at Apple.com.
    Keeping iPod within acceptable temperatures
Operate iPod in a place where the temperature is always between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). iPod play time might temporarily shorten in low-temperature conditions.
Store iPod in a place where the temperature is always between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave iPod in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.
When you’re using iPod or charging the battery, it is normal for iPod to get warm. The exterior of iPod functions as a cooling surface that transfers heat from inside the unit to the cooler air outside.
    Have a great day!

  • I spilled milk tea on Macbook Pro

I spilled milk tea on Macbook Pro and few drops went inside audio and one USB port. Both are not working. What should I do? Someone suggested cleaning it using nail polish remover. Will it help?
It's 13 inch Macbook Pro late 2011 model.
    Thanks.

I wouldn't use acetone at all (nail polish remover). I wouldn't think that cleaning the ports would do any good anyway. The ports probably shorted out and are simply not going to be useable -> you would have to get a new logic board to fix the problem.
Liquid and electronics are a bad 'mix'.
    Sorry,
    Clinton

  • Spilled some tea on my laptop and now the backspace key doesn't work!

    Hi All,
So I spilled some tea on my macbook today. All over the ekeyboard. Thankfully everything is working perfectly fine except my BACKSPACE/DELETE key, which I hve come to realize is super important even just writing this message! Does anyone know how I can fix this? Is my computer forever going to be without a functioning backspace key? What can I do? Do you think the apple store can fix it??? HELP ME PLEASE THIS IS SO ANNOYING!

You may be able to 'remap' keys on the MacBook's keyboard, so as to assign a new purpose to one of the keys you'd otherwise not use much anyway; such as the small "Enter" key in the bottom row of the portable; a remap of this should not affect the larger Enter key, so you can re-purpose of the small one so it performs a Delete.
The 'arrow' keys allow a left-direction cursor movement without an erase; sometimes, the FN key can be used to control alternative functions; not sure how complex the commands or assigned functions can be & still work.
There had been a few free remapping apps and guidelines to help Mac owners adjust their built-in keyboard for use with Windows under BootCamp, Parallels, for dual-booting in non-Mac OS X; or other virtualization schemes to use the main keyboard for custom functions. Some of these can be assigned to work in one OS.
The idea of trying a known-good external USB keyboard, to test the computer's hardware beyond the issues you've found troublesome after the built-in keyboard was exposed to liquid, would be best to test the chassis and logic circuits for damages beyond the keyboard assembly.
The built-in keyboard issues where a single key does not function after an immersion or liquid spill event, are unlikely to be cured by simple replacement of a single key-face; and the individual key-switches are not seperate components to be changed out. The keyboard and touchpad can be removed and replaced by a skilled and trained technician. The rest of the MacBook should be inspected and tested for damage, too.
Depending on your exact build model version of MacBook, the keyboard, touchpad, and upper half of the lower case assembly has different parts and construction processes; so some of the online suggestions and YouTube videos posted there by other users may viewed with this in mind. Several upgrades occurred under the skin of these computers; so do the details on how to access or repair/replace internal components.
    The iFixit online instruction pages may have some information on how to replace the built-in keyboard; if your model build version of MacBook is one of those not too extreme for a non-expert to attempt a repair. The warning as intricate details go, usually implies you could do damages inside the computer in addition to the main symptom and issue(s) you initially seek to resolve. Be ware! {Like on old world maps: of dragons, etc.}
You could look through search results to compare videos posted by well-intentioned users, to see which ones may appear to be more like the exact model MacBook you have. A more positive identification of your portable would be required to get correct parts and perform detailed procedures properly. These generally do not have general parts; details inside the MacBook line changed many times over the years its been made.
Several leads appear in a search based on these words in a google browser:
    replace macbook keyboard
Some sticky keys and individual keyface replacements are noted; however if the liquid damaged more than the keyboard you'd have to troubleshoot the computer to know for sure. One way to tell, is to attach an external USB keyboard and see if the actual functions themselves are still working. Liquid can also cause corrosion later on, so a temporary fix may involve a superficial symptom. Other issues may follow later on.

The key itself may have some gunk within the parts, layers are as noted in the first youtube video linked above; but the liquid may have gone on to find places to cause further grief at a later time. Or the symptom you note may imply damage beyond the keyboard already has taken place.
You may have to make an advance appointment to see some genius or product expert, and plan a time to take the unit in. Or contact some place who can do the work, and who are authorized experts, to have them inspect the computer and give you an estimate of the damages and a proper cure. Sorry that I don't have a simple answer; and have already been interrupted here while trying to put together some kind of a reply. Like getting my mind wiped clear more than twice, when someone comes along & starts talking nonsense, while I'm already busy (doing three things) and one more is an overload.
    Hopefully this helps somewhat...
    Good luck & happy computing!

Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
    - Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
    - Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.
To move mdia to the new computer see:

  • [SOLVED]Iced Tea Fails to Launch Webmin File Manager

Last night I started receiving an exception error when trying to launch Webmin File Manager from my laptop. I googled combinations of Webmin File Manager and Java and found posts dating back to 2009, 2010 stating webmin didn't work well with Iced Tea but did work with Sun's Java. Fortunately the Arch Java wiki indicated jre existed in the AUR. So a simple,
    sudo pacman -Rs icedtea-web-java7
    followed by,
    sudo packer -S jre
and Webmin File Manager is accessible again.
My thanks to AUR maintainer Det.
Edit: After converting to jre I was able to access webmin filemanager but unable to access webmin ssh2. I reverted back to icedtea and went to the security console. i added https://serverip:10000/ to the exceptions and now both ssh2 and filemenager work.

  • Ice-Link Plus and iPod Nano 3G

    Hi,
I've been using an Dension Ice-Link plus and iPod Nano 1G in my Alfa GT for two years without any problem. Now I'm thinking in buying a new Nano 3G but I don't know the Ice-Link is fully compatible with the new Nano 3G.
The Dension Support hasn't answer yet to this question.
I suppose it will be as the base connector haven't changed but I'd like to know if someone in this forum could confirm it or not.
    Thanks,

I use the Ice Link Plus in my BMW, and I can confirm that the Nano 3G indeed works with my system. Ought to work with yours aswell.
Must say that I'm a bit disappointed on Dension aswell... they could have done this test and written some info on their site. Buying the Nano 3G was a bit of a gamble for me =)

  • Ipod help viewer not available

An apple expert had me trash all of my iTunes files while trying to help with an iPod Touch problem and then reinstall iTunes 9.1. Now I cannot access iPod help viewer. Also I no longer see a credit I have in iTunes which used to show when I opened iTunes.

There are no apps for the iPod classic at all. Apps are only for the iPod Touch or the iPhone.
