Splash screen is hiding early

I'm running the splash screen on my desktop stand alone application, from the manifest file, but my splash screen hides when the frame became visible (just the frame, without the panel and its components).
How do I make the splash screen to wait the panel show up?

How do I make the splash screen to wait the panel show up?You're thinking backwards. Add all the components to the frame before you setVisible(true)

  • Want to hide or mod FCP 6 Splash Screen

    Just want to hide the splash screen on my FCP system. I rent it to indy projects and I want to protect my serial. How can I access the Splash Screen Image? I've been able to mod the splash screen on all the other apps on the rental system but can not find or get to the Splash Screen for Color and FCP 6. I know that a real hacker can find my serial some how but I am not trying to block those geniuses. Just the lazy ones that are willing to go as far as copying or screen grabbing my Splash Screen and or About Screens to get a working serial. I know how to mod the Splash Screen to hide my serial and how to hide the app so the user can't get to the splash screen. I just don't know where the splash screen file is. I've read that it is in the .nib files? I just wanna hide my serial. Don't care if I mod it myself or install an app that does it for me. Any apple people or anyone else know what I can do to protect my product. I've also been told that the splash screen does not display the full serial but it soo totally does. Hey apple, please add the ability to hide this splash screen. Perhaps with it's own password to unlock and show again? OR, make splash screen hiding a universal ability in the OS. That would be sweet! Anyway,... ideas?

    Hey all. I have been able to mod the splash screen on all the apps in FCP Studio 2 except for FCP and Color. The other studio apps Splash Screens access a .psd file. The only files I've found in Color that seem like they might be the splash screen files are ft_splash.Isi, ft_splashEDU.Isi, ft_splashNFR.Isi and ft_splashVOL.Isi
    How do I open a .Isi file? If I can figure that out I can hide the serial number for Color but it still leaves FCP. Why do apps show the serial on the splash screen at all? What purpose does this serve?

  • After Effects CS5.5 - Lion: Crash on splash screen EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGABRT)

    So one day, out of the blue, After Effects stops wanting to open. The worst part is, I can't think of any changes that would have caused this.
    I am running After Effects CS5.5 (10.5.1) on my MacBook Pro 13" (Early 2011), which is running Mac OSX Lion. Here is my system profile (with some sections omitted).
    Just a few weeks ago, I began to consistently receive this message during the AE splash screen:
    After Effects Alert
    Last log message was: <140735295236448> <ASL.ResourceUtils.GetLanguageIDFromRegistry> <0> Unable to obtain the User 'Language' registry key at: Software\Adobe\After Effects\10.5.1\ Defaulting to 'en_US'.
    Here is a crash log.
    Any ideas?
    First attempt
    I figured maybe I had a bad preference file, so I cleared my prefs. Nothing changed aside from a modified error message:
    After Effects Alert
    Last log message was: <140735295236448> <DynamicLink> <5> 0x114ee8418
    And a crash log.
    Also, if I try opening AE again, after I cleared my prefs and opened it once, the error message returns to the "registry key" alert.
    Second, third, fourth attempt
    So I uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects about 3 times. No change. I used the latest download from Adobe, and the original Master Collection image: no difference.
    Fifth attempt
    I created a second admin account to see if this was an isolated issue. It isn't; same problem.
    Sixth attempt
    I thought about QuickTime, so I opened up System Prefs, and uninstalled Perian. I left the prefpane there though.
    Also, I have the latest version of Java.
    Seventh attempt (Added 19 March 2012)
    I used the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool to wipe out my entire Adobe installation. I still have the same problem after a reinstall. I'm going to try installing AE on my external drive next. This is really frustrating. Has anyone experienced this issue and found a resolution?
    Notes
    Interestingly enough, all of the other Abobe CS5.5 apps I installed work fine:
    Bridge
    Photoshop
    Illustrator
    InDesign
    Premiere Pro
    OnLocation
    Extension Manager
    Added 1:54PM, 13 March 2012:
    Also, opening up the render engine causes the same error message.

    I just installed AE, have never used it, and am seeing it bail on startup with the same odd language registry key error. Please see my post on a related thread.
    Any luck here? Would be nice to get AE to boot so I could evaluate it.

  • BLACK SCREEN on start up with 3 beeps, FREEZES when power unplugged, IF IT BOOTS splash screen freezes, OVERHEATING REQUIRED TO BOOT - 0x7B, Event 41 kernel-power

    Issue: One day I unplug the power, the screen freezes and I get frozen music sound. I shut down, start up, I get 3 beeps (1 short 2 long), which indicates a Video failure according to the Thinkpad Laptop beep code list.
    How I solve the issue day-to-day: I turn the heat up - I disconnect the battery and hard drive and plug in the power then turn it on. I will wait until the underneath is searing hot with a blanket blocking the fan's flow of air, I mean way hot because any
    cooler and it won't start. Plug stuff back in, Hard drive first, Battery second, turn off with power button hold, unplug power, replug power.
    I turn it on, no beeps, it goes past the first Lenovo screen, then gives me a prompt because it "didn't shut down properly" and continue regular startup. What happens next is the Windows logo appears,
    and just as the animated windows logo starts to move (you see 2 small colored dots on the screen), it freezes. I see this every time, I know naturally that it means that the laptop is still too hot to go past that point, so I shut it down and try again. After
    about 5 - 10 tries it will go past the splash screen and into the login area, then it's all fine.
    Sometimes when I unplug the power from the back by accident it will freeze. By accident I mean that the connector wiggles it's self out easily. This unplug freezing thing started happening about 1 week before the 3 beep black screen problem started rolling,
    so I'm putting 2 together.

    I came across a very sluggish performing control panel for Nvidia before and after this problem, and I tried installing a newer version, which I had to jump through a few hoops to do, like uninstalling first, not just updating. At first it said that the
    driver wasnt for the system, which was wrong. I made it work somehow, but it was still sluggish. I rolled it back to an earlier driver, and now it works fine. No sluggish performance / slight freeze window thing going on.

    this in the past, but it does not save the setting now, and I believe this option was selected before I started having problems, and settings did not disappear then.
    What could this be. The small round BIOS battery? The video card like everyone presumes? (I.E. the entire motherboard replacement), Software? The wiggly power input area? (Not enough power getting in?), Firmware of some sort? The BIOS software being wrong?

    I'd beg to differ on both accounts.
    *61 series nVidia-based ThinkPads from late January through July of 2008 are a 50/50 shot, since the old chips were mixed with the new ones. Any machine built in August and later can be deemed "safe".
    As for the forums (I don't do feebay) there are people who sell genuine, properly-tested planars. However, these do not come at bargain basement prices, and with a good reason if I may add.
    Good luck.

    When deploying an app to ipad2 ios7/iphone4 ios6/iphone5 ios7 the app doesnt get past the loading/splash screen.
    Ive tried debugging on the device via usb but doesnt even hit the first breakpoint on the firtst line of code. Also deployed via testflight with the same result ie stuck on the loading screen.
    I released the app in December but the app freezes on the loading screen from the app store!!?? Ive no idea how this passed apple testing etc and it previosly worked. ..Has anyone got any advice on how to debug this or does anyone know what could be the problem?
    Ive now created a VERY simple app for testing, this includes all icons etc and just displays some text in a text box. This also freezes on the loading screen.

    It might have something to do with the new way iOS7 shows the last active screen of an app as a screenshot and optionally replaces it with the running app, if the app had been killed in the background. That way, it seems that more apps are running concurrently than the device supports. There's often a flicker showing the real app behind the splash screen WHEN I minimize a stuck splash screen.

  • IdeaTab A2109A will not boot past Lenovo Splash screen

    Tablet was charging over night, early in the morning I heard a couple of beeps, and thought it was my phone.  After waking I turned on the Tablet and first saw a green circle with 100%, then after trying the power switch again, it booted to the Lenovo splash screen with the audio and color bar, but will not boot to the operating system.

    I gave up and sent the Tablet into Grapevine, Texas under warranty.

  • Events visible at splash screen, then disappear

    Suddenly events on my additional internal drives are disappearing from the Event browser. Goes like this:
    Imported several clips in new event on big, almost unused internal drive (2 TB).
    Used clips from the new event in a new Project, edited fine and closed FCPX.
    Launched FCPX next day, now all events are visible only during  startup (Splash screen showing), then disappearing. Clicking on the hard drive name only shows "No Events exist on this Disk", although all FCP related files and folders are there. Project is still working fine.
    Lion did not improve the situation.
    Moving the event to the Movies folder on the main internal drive makes it show up.
    I did everything people with external drives missing in the event browser tried (check journaling, permissions, renaming of certain files, deleting old mp4 files in non-FCP folders etc). No luck.
    Somebody suggested that there could be a problem when there are several Western Digital drives in the computer (whis both my internal drives are). Anyone have any more info on that?
    Cheers,
    Rabbe

    Ok - solved it.
    I had two Word files on the drive from an earlier project which contained the word "final" i the file name.
    Also changed the drive name from anything resembling "VIDEO" or "FILM" to something completely different.
    With theese changes the drive with all events now shows up in the Event browser.
    Apple, Come on!

  • Launching Splash Screen on the click of a button

    Situation: I have an application running, and when the user clicks a button on the main menu, a new dialog opens.
    Problem: This dialog takes awhile to load as it is retreiving information from the database etc ... hence I would like to launch a splash screen in one thread and the other dialog in a second thread.
    Following is the Splash Screen class:
    public class SplashScreen extends JWindow {
        public SplashScreen(int d) {
            duration = d;
            this.launchSplash();
        public void launchSplash() {
            JPanel content = (JPanel) getContentPane();
            content.setBackground(Color.white);
            // Set the window's bounds, centering the window
            int width = 350;
            int height = 255;
            Dimension screen = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
            int x = (screen.width - width) / 2;
            int y = (screen.height - height) / 2;
            setBounds(x, y, width, height);
            // Build the splash screen
            JLabel label = new JLabel();
            label.setIcon(new ImageIcon(getClass().getResource("loading.gif")) );
            label.setHorizontalAlignment(JLabel.CENTER);
            content.add(label, BorderLayout.CENTER);
            // Display it
            this.setVisible(true);
            // Wait a little while, maybe while loading resources
            try {
                Thread.sleep(duration);
            } catch (Exception e) {
            this.setVisible(false);
    //        System.exit(0);
    //    public static void main(String[] args) {
    //        // Throw a nice little title page up on the screen first
    //        SplashScreen splash = new SplashScreen(10000);
    //        // Normally, we'd call splash.launchSplash() and get on
    //        // with the program. But, since this is only a test...
    //        System.exit(0);
    //    }When I run this as a standalone, it works fine (i.e. uncomment the 'main' function). But when I try to call it from another function, it doesn't launch.
    Eg: I am calling it when a button has been clicked. Code is as follows:
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
         SplashScreen sd = new SplashScreen(10000);
         // Calling the dialog (that takes a long time to load) here
    }Would like to know whether
    [1] is it possible to launch a splash screen on the click of a button? As usually a splash screen is done at the beginning of an application before anything is loaded. In my case an application is already running, during which a splash screen needs to be launched.
    [2] Would using the new splashscreen class of Java 6.0 support this?
    [3] If not what is the best way to approach this problem
    Appreciate any input.
    Thanks,

    Thanks Michael_Dunn, I see what you mean.
    I know this is not exactly as you suggested, but when I tried the following I got a partial solution. Just wanted to know whether I am on the right track.
    I wrote a small class for the thread
    public class cSplashScreenThread extends Thread {
        public volatile boolean finished = false;
        public cSplashScreenThread(){
    // override run() method in interface
        public void run() {
           SplashScreen sd = new SplashScreen(10000);
        }This calls the SplashScreen(code encl in earlier post).
    In the main application I added the following
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
    // SPLASH SCREEN
    //                    SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
    //                        public void run() {
                                cSplashScreenThread sd = new cSplashScreenThread();
                                sd.start();
                                sd.finished = true;
    // DIALOG
                        SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
                            public void run() {
                          DialogToCall tempDialolog = new DialogToCall(.......);
                                tempDialolog .setVisible(true);
    :When I run this in the application, the SplashScreen does indeed appear(earlier I wasn't able to see the splashScreen), and I notice (when I put a breakpoint at the pt where it calls the dialog), that it is going and creating the dialog etc, but the dialog never appears ...... after the splash screen closes, nothing else happens!
    Could you please guide me on what best to do?
    Thanks,

  • NWBC 3.0 Does not open beyond the splash screen

    I have uninstalled/re-installed and rebooted many times.  Deleted all nwbc.ini files plus anything else I could find.
    This NWBC version 3.0 used to work on my PC in Nov and early Dec.
    Now all I get is the initial splash screen saying that the program is going to run (and it shows up in my task list for a moment or two) and then nothing.  There's no task running, nothing.
    I've tried NWBC 3.5 - same problem.  I've tried from Run Advertised programs.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling at least 6 times.  Nothing.
    Anyone see this ever and can help?
    I really need quick response on this!

    Uninstall NWBC , go to REGEDIT --> Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Expand SOFTWARE node --> Locate SAP -- Delete the Folder NWBC.
    And
    2). Expand HKEY_LOCAL_USER --> SOFTWARE  -> SAP --> NWBC - Delete.
    Restart the system and try to install NWBC again and check.
    Thanks,

  • Creating splash screen

    hi,
    i am creating a splash screen for the very first time. i found an example online i am getting err: class SplashScreen cannot be resolved
    heres the code:
    package com.devdaily.splashscreen;
    import javax.swing.UIManager;
    import javax.swing.ImageIcon;
    public class SplashScreenMain {
    SplashScreen screen;
    public SplashScreenMain() {
    // initialize the splash screen
    splashScreenInit();
    // do something here to simulate the program doing something that
    // is time consuming
    for (int i = 0; i <= 100; i++)
    for (long j=0; j<50000; ++j)
    String poop = " " + (j + i);
    // run either of these two -- not both
    screen.setProgress("Yo " + i, i); // progress bar with a message
    //screen.setProgress(i); // progress bar with no message
    splashScreenDestruct();
    System.exit(0);
    private void splashScreenDestruct() {
    screen.setScreenVisible(false);
    private void splashScreenInit() {
    ImageIcon myImage = new ImageIcon(com.devdaily.splashscreen.SplashScreenMain.class.getResource("SplashImage.gif"));
    screen = new SplashScreen(myImage);
    screen.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
    screen.setProgressMax(100);

    new SplashScreenMain();
    can ne body help me with this.
    thanks in advance!

    is it bcoz i am using jdk 1.5...>It sure is.
    If you launch the application using webstart, you can specify a splash screen for earlier versions. There are also a number of third party classes that provide a splash screen - you'd need to search for them, they have been discussed in depth on a number of public forums over the years.

  • Can't fully launch beyond splash screen, corrupted database?

    I'm using a MacPro with LR v1.2, OS v10.4.10. A few days ago, I got the spinning beachball while in LR, had to Force Quit. When I tried to relaunch, I could only get the splash screen and menu.
    Each time I launch LR, I backup. Every other day or so I optimize the database from Catalog Preferences. I had added about 700 photos a few days earlier, for a total of about 8,700.
    I've gone to the Adobe LR knowledge base, followed their instructions for going back to an earlier backup, but though I've gone back some days, one by one, from the day I had the problem I still only get perhaps one photo, the rest grayed out, immediately. If I wait some time, some previews will start showing up (so far for at least one folder of photos after perhaps 20 minutes).
    Is it just a matter of waiting long enough for the previews to show up or do I have to go much further back in my backups to find one which will have all the photos show up right away (normal behavior)?

    This sounds very similar to problems we are having in the thread called "Lightroom no longer opens," http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3c0540fe/10
    It might be worth it to try the solution that is described there, Especially since you have so many back ups. I have to finish some editing before I try it myself to restore my 65,000 image catalog.

  • Captivate 5 crashes after splash screen

    I've downloaded the trial version of Captivate 5 and every time I try to start the program, I can't get passed the splash screen.
    I'm running:
    Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit
    i5 2.27 GHz
    4 GB RAM
    350+ GB memory available
    Upon initial launch, program crashed and produced an error message: "Adobe Captivate is not responding." I changed the AdobeCaptivate.exe file properties to "Run this program in compatibility for: (tried all options)" and "Run this program as an administrator" and no luck. Making the file compatible to a previous OS version caused the file to simply freeze (rather than crash) but prevented the Trial Activation prompt when operating as compatible for versions earlier than Vista.
    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling 6 times, after following various recommendations on potential fixes. Have also tried:
    Cleaner tool - http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs5clean.html
    AdobeNotificationsDllFieldReplacementTool.exe
    Deleting the "amt3.log" file from the temp folder (saw this in a previous post, I guess to look for process errors)
    The only "error" message listed in the entire amt3.log file is "Sequence Error!  PreValidate called after Validate!" towards the very end of the log sequence. I'm at the end of my rope here. I almost purchased Captivate 5 without downloading the trial version first. I'd still like to purchase it but not if I can't even get the trial version to work.
    Someone please help. Thanks.

    Hi and welcome to this forum.
    It sounds like you've tried most of the usual fixes for this installation issue.
    I'm only a regular user like yourself but I know that the Adobe developers watch this forum closely for any issues like the one you're having.  They'll usually chime in pretty quickly to offer assistance via some kind of screen sharing session so that they can investigate what's happening.
    Stay tuned and be patient. Help is on the way, but even developers need a weekend.

  • Ai CC, Ps CC, and Id CC Closes After The Splash Screen

    Hello,
    I recently upgrade from CS6 to CC versions of a bunch of Adobe programs for school and it seems that Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign always close right after the splash screen disappears.
    I had no issues with CS6 at all.
    I'm running it on a MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch. Early 2013.
    Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    Software: OS X 10.8.4
    I've been looking through the forums all day about ways to fix this.
    I have tried:
    • Signing out then back in
    • Uninstalling and reinstalling
    • Stopping the OS from auto-terminating programs with no windows open
    Which are the main 3 options that I could find.
    I have looked in Library>Logs>Adobe files for crash data, but it doesn't look like theres any.
    I have noticed, when checking out the console logs, that theres a warning that pops up when I try to open any of the 3 programs that looks like:
    I tried googling this, but there was almost nothing on that.
    I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem, but any insight would be aprreciated.

    Hi Nick_DJM,
    Please follow the kb document for the issue with CC apps crashing on launch- http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/cc-applications-crash-immediately-launch.html

  • LabView 8.5.1 crashes at splash screen "appentrypoint.cpp, line 74 error"

    Been using it for a while.  Updated to lv2011 but need to be able to still use 8.5.1.  After upgrading found out the earlier version is not compatible with the fieldpoint 6.0.10 drivers that updated my 6.0.1 version.  So, I uninstalled the 2011 LV and 6.0.10 fieldpoint drivers.  I reinstalled the fp 6.0.1 drives from an original CD.  When I ran LV8.5.1 the above error occurs during the splash screen and LV ends.  I uninstalled 8.5.1 and did a new installation from the original CD and I still get the same error.  Would really like to get LV8.5.1 working again with fieldpoint.  Thanks.

    Hi jmw50290,
    I see that you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling LabVIEW 8.5.1, but have you tried doing a repair installation?
    Here are the steps to do so:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/fe6b641e86e55af2862576de00038001?OpenDocument
    Repair does things that regular uninstall/reinstall do not do, so it's worth a shot.
