Split Individual Capacity for Work Centers

In Capacity Leveling for Individual Capacity (CM27 & CM28), what is the process in setting up individual "persons"?
What I would like to do is take an individual work center and divide it up into several different areas. I would like to treat the individual 'persons' as listed in Individual Capacity as those different areas I would divide my work center up into.
However, I have no current setup for personel available and when I go to assign a 'Person' to a specific quantity for my work center, there is "no persons found for the work center".
Where do I go to setup individual "persons" for my work center, and is this a realistic way to divide my work center up?
If not realistic, what method would you recommend to split up the work centers?

Shared Capacity For Work Managers and state SUSPEND for ManagedServer

Hi!
I have 3 ManagedServers in cluster. I want configure the Overload Conditions for each ManagedServer - set Shared Capacity For Work Managers = 100. So, if the count of concurrent requests will be more than 100 for ManagedServer, this ManagedServer stopes processing new requests (as for sutdown state) and finishes processing the current requests, and all next requests go to a other ManagedServers.
Could you please tell me how to achieve it?
Now, ManagedServer changes state to OVERLOAD temporarily, and becoms to RUNNING.
Failure Action = Suspend this server (dindt help)

You can consider using the capacity constraint
capacity - Causes the server to reject requests only when it has reached its capacity. The default is -1. Note that the capacity includes all requests, queued or executing, from the constrained work set. Work is rejected either when an individual capacity threshold is exceeded or if the global capacity is exceeded. This constraint is independent of the global queue threshold.

Shift patterns for work centers

Hi,
I have question regarding shift patterns for work centers. We are actually utilizing the work centres in a aftermarket setup (service jobs). What we would like to do is to add shift patters to the work centers which look similar to this:
Mo-Su 07:00-19:00, Mo-Su 19:00-07:00 4days on/4 days off/4 days on/4days off. As you see we would like it to be a rolling schedule so the first 4 working days the day shift, then 4 days off, then the next working days the night shift and so on.
Is there a way of simplyfying this setup? The length of the cycle can only be set to a maximum of 7 days meaning I can not create a rolling schedule in a simple way. I do know that I can manually add intervals with say a seven day cycle and defining the working hours and additional create shift for holding predefined working hours and breaks.
I have looked at shift sequences but that doesn't seem to be helpful in this scenario? The sequence seems only to be used as a sequence on a daily basis.
If anyone has solution for this or if you have any thought on how to process I would be very thankful if you shared these.

Enter Report Type and Usage as workcentre, please do the this customazation then you find workcentres in F4.

Split operation in two work centers?

Hello SAP gurus,
I have a scenario where I need to split one operation in two work centers, by doing this I can reduce the operation time by half.
Here is an example:
WC A
WC B
Operation 0010 - 10 UN - 1 H Machine Time
Currently I have:
   WC A - 10 UN - 1 H
I want to split the operation by the work center A and B:
   WC A - 5 UN - 30 MIN
   WC B - 5 UN - 30 MIN
I have tried to use sequences but, the system puts the total tima (1 H) in the two operations, wich is wrong!!!
Can someone help me with this?

Dear,
You need to create this as a single work center with 2 Individual Capacities, and you can use the capacity leveling/dispatching option to allocate the right workcenter to the individual machine. Or also note in routing select the opn & double click. enter no. capacity splitting is 2 Make tick mark in required splitting.
If you want to do in order then go to an operation screen double click on operation no go to Splitting tap enter here the splitting is 2 Make tick mark in required splitting then click on scheduling icon and check the timing

Cost Centers for Work Centers

Dear All,
In our senario we have defined 30 Work Centers required. here the Activity are only for 2 (labour, Mechaine Hr). In KP26 we have to maintain the Standard Price. How can we build a logic in this. Can we create 30 Cost Centers. Y becoz each end eavery work center have the different price for Labour. for EX;
WC1 - 150 Labour Cost
WC2 - 180 Labour Cost
WC3 - 190 Labour Cost
Like this we have to calculate. I hope it is required to create 30 Cost Center to assaign wot Wrok Centers. Here we are going to KP06. We have a standrd pirce to calculate.

IF the business is interested in capturing using different cost centers means then you can create individual cost center and
assign it to the work center and define the rates in KP26.So only one activity type will be there but different cost center.
The otherway is creating multiple activity types say LABH1,LABH2....and creating different rates for the activity type ans same
cost center combination in KP26.But here the challenge is you have to assign the activity types properly under costing tab
against the formulas.

Linearity for work centers.

Hi Fox,
I want to customize a report that can show Linearity of all work centers.
A future measure/metric that we would like to use is measuring Linearity on a daily basis for each work center.It's basically checking our ability to build what we're supposed to build on a daily basis.
For example, if we have 4 assemblies due that day and we only make 3 of them, then our Linearity is 75%. Conversely, if we have 4 assemblies due and we make 5 (built one a day early), then our Linearity is still 75% because get 'penalized' for overproducing.
Will you guys help me to proceed for this.

HR assignment for work centers using IR02

Hello everybody,
Need some technical help from all regarding issue mentioned below:
I need to do HR assignments to work centers.
Is there any function module available which does HR assignments to work centers.
There's one which I found : COI2_WORKCENTER_HR_ASSIGNMENT, but I'm not able to understand the parameters we need to pass on to this FM.
Please help me if anybody has used this FM.
Also alternatively if any other FM is available plz. let me know.

plz check the FM "COI2_PERSON_RANKING".it uses the FM "COI2_WORKCENTER_HR_ASSIGNMENT" inside it..check the same.

Using IDoc WMTRID01, you can send data on transfer requirements from the ... However, you define the work center where the material is to be staged.

Costing Formula SAP_09 for Work centers

Hi Gurus,
In OP51, we have a PARAMETR (for work centre formula) SAP_09 . It picks values from a Filed "MGVRG" . I am not able to trace where this filed comes from in a Rtae routing or Work centre.
Can somebody please advice me where MGVRG comes from .

Distributing remaining capacity for work center.

Hi PS experts, could you please provide your advice with a problem I have below.
I planned a internal activity for 40 hrs. The activity dates are 2011.12.01 to 2012.02.29.
In 2011, the capacity report CM07 correctly distributed the hours evenly between Dec-2011 and Feb 2012.
No confirmations have been posted.
Now in January-2012, when I re-run the CM07 and look at remaining hours by period, the distribution is NOT even.
It has 35 hrs in Jan, and 5 hrs in Feb.
The only way we have found to resolve this is by creating a confirmation, even with ZERO hours.
Once that's done, the distribution is correct. I can re-create the error by cancelling the orignal confirmation.
SAP seems to be "shoveling" the hours to the next logical month(s), but with no distribution.
Can you please advise on how to resolve, without having to enter a ZERO confirmation?

I am not sure, what do you expect the hours or capacity should be distributed.
The standard distribution logic works in the following.
remaining capacity = planned - actual
As long as there is no confirmation(no actual hours posted), the remaining is the same as the planned hours, independant on what date is today.
Now the amount of the remaining capacity is determined, we need a time-frame to distribute it, logically. The time-frame is determined with the distibution key. Typically are the earliest dates or latest dates. So check, which earliest dates and latest dates the involved activity has.
The confirmation affect the actual working hours and the scheduling, that means the earliest dates and the lates dates, => the confirmation affects the distirbution time frame => the confirmation affect the distribution.
The consulting note 151551 should be (still) useful.

How can I use capacity splits in Machines "001" using PS work centers ?

Hello Experts
I want to manage capacity splits for machines in PS using work centers.
I create work center CNR1 "Capacity Category 001 <Machine>", maintain the capacity header and maintain the rest of the work center as usual.
If I create a pooled capacity CR11, I can only assign one pooled capacity for a work center. however I added 3 individual capacities in the capacity header.
when I create an internal activity and assign the work center, work, activity type and number of individual capacities, I go to "Personnel Assignment" tab. I find the capacity category "001" Machine, and the fields down there are capacities not persons.
I try to open the possible values for the field "Capacity" and no values found.
Even the pooled capacity I assigned does not appear in F4.
How can I assign multiple capacities to a work center so that I can choose between them in the capacity split tab "Person assignment" in an internal activity in PS???
FYI: everything else in the internal activity is working perfectly fine, even personnel assignment. But we haven't activated personnel availability management in HR module.

Hi Ahmed,
You can achieve this by using creating individual capacity for category type.
Steps:-
1.Go to Cr02 define capacity category 001 .
2.Now double click on capacity category it will open its header details.
3.Now assign individual capacity this will appear in project. as shown
5.In project u can assign same in capacity.

Individual Capacity production rate

The scenario is a work center with 2 machines, which are having different production rates. One machine has production rate of 1 hour / piece and another has 2 hours / piece.
In the work center these 2 machines are maintained as individual capacities. But how to maintain the different production ratesfor these individual capacities?

Based on your requirement , please note my suggestion to map this in SAP :
Option 1:
1.There are two individual capacity for your Work Centre having different production or drilling rate ( more specifically ) .They will assinged to CR02-Work Centre (Drilling ) -Capacity Tab Header Details-Available Capacity -No of Individaul Capacity .
2.Do not assing any Machine Activity Type in your Work Centre -Costing tab .(You may be having Set up activity type with Formula key as well as Labor also ) .
3.Create Two different Activity Type in KP26 under same Production Cost Center with propoer validity with different rate asisnged in the Activity Type .Take the Help of CO/FICO guy who will create the Activity Type with two different rate .
Activity Type : Automatic machine : 100 pc/100 min means 1 PC /MIN. Define the Miniute wise rate for this machine in KP26
Activity Type : Non-Automatic machine : 100 pc/50 min means 2 PC /MIN.Define the Miniute wise rate for this machine in KP26
4.Create Routing with two operation Line item : Drilling Automatic and Non Automatic and assing the Work Centre , activity type as applicable ( refer my earlier reply ) .Here keep Required Spillitng option with No of Split as 2 ( 33:67)
5.Create Production Order with 100 PCs which will processed as per the splitting and machine hrs
Option : 2
Otherwise , best option will be two different Work Centre with two different Machien Activity Type assinged with same Setup , Labor and work centre will be having single individual Available Capaicty in CR02.Follow point 2, 3 for the same

CIF of Work Centers

Hello,
I have the situation that our test R/3 system was refreshed, but the corresponding test APO system wasn't. When running now the integration models again, I am phasing problems for the work centers. Here I am getting the message "Resource XXX already exists (mapping error)".
And yes the resource is existing for sure as the work center was already available in the former R/3 test system and it was already included in an integration model. But nevertheless I need to have an active integration model for work centers otherwise I am no longer able to create PPMs.
I am looking forward to get some tipps how to overcome this issue.

Hi,
As you have mentioned that the APO System was not refreshed, the resource will be still available in the APO system.
Now, when you are transferring the workcenter from R/3 after the refresh, there will be conflict in the capacity id as the resource already exists in APO.
hence, the solution is ,you have to delete all the resources in APO. Make sure that all the dependent orders like planned orders and production/process orders are deleted before you delete the resources.
I am sure, this solves the problem.
