Split Screen Options? In iPad2

So I downloaded the checkbook app and would like to have a split screen between the checkbook ap and internet (while browsing my checking account online). Is there anyway to look at two different items at one time? Such as an app and internet?

Great,...it will make chatting flow much smoother. Will I see the split window chats with the "My Conversations" app that came on my N8? Also,...I use Swype for my keyboard,..not for the swiping feature but for the larger keys that fit my big thumbs better. I noticed something about Swype in this thread. Does Swype cause any conflicts for the new split window chats. Thanks again for the assist !

No. There is no split screen or two windows option on the iPad.

Terminal.app and split-screen

Am I the only one who used the split-screen terminal we had before Leopard? It was great for watching scrolling output since you could keep an eye on new traffic in the bottom of the screen while scrolling back and even searching in the top half of the screen.
As far as I can tell, we no longer have a split-screen option in Terminal 2 in Leopard. If anyone knows away to enable it, please post it.

While tabs are nice, I don't find them that much more useful than having separate terminal windows open. Especially since the only time I normally have more than one window open is to be able to cut and paste between them. The screen command provided most of what tabs offer (with the obvious lack of the tab buttons themselves). The biggest thing I found useful with split screens is for long running programs with a bunch of output. I used the split to examine the older output while watching the newest output at the bottom of the screen. For now I use old Terminal when I need to run a program like this and the new Terminal for everything else. I haven't noticed any problems from running them at the same time.

Where do I find these choices in Final Cut X ? Also, on iMovie, to resume project production, I would then hit the "done" button -- Where do I find a button to finalize changes? Green screen is done with the Keyer effect.
There is no Done except for transformations in the viewer.
Double click an edit point to open the Precision Editor.

Is there any way of getting split screen function in firefox 4

Being able to split screen was a very helpful feature in the previous version of firefox, however, it is not available in version 4. Is there any other way of getting this tool?

Firefox has never had a built-in option to split the screen, such a feature is added by an extension. The only one that I know of that is compatible with Firefox 4 is Split Pannel - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/split-pannel

Would you appreciate the possibility of turning them off?
Excluding the usual problems with iTunes, my ipod 160 is working very good. The only annoying this is the gap for loading the previews in the split-screen.

Agree with comments on the clock. I'd like an option to leave the screen alone and just turn off the backlight. Backlight delay needs to be fixed. IFRC 30secs setting still turns off after 20 secs. What about an option to maintain backlight at lower (selectable) brightness for a user selectable number of minutes?

Determining Tables on Double Click Event on Split Screen

Hi,
I have an OO split screen scenario where I display 2 different internal tables, 1 in the upper section of the split screen and the other in the lower section part. The layout structure used is the same for both internal tables since they display similar information. I am trying to establish that if I use the double click event to drill into specific line items, how do I determine which one of the split screens (and hence which internal table) have I double clicked on so that the correct internal tables details is read for further processing?

Thanks very much for this. I have tried this out and it works perfect. However I'm trying to understand this further from the point of view that I did originally look at the event DOUBLE_CLICK in the class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID but didn't think I could use if further since there was no tie in with the optional parameter 'SENDER' you show. It only has 3 parameters listed for this so how does the 'SENDER' optional parameter work? Is this by reference/registration via the SET HANDLER statrement? I also debugged and looked at 'value' passed into the SENDER optional parameter... its not what I expected to see but contains what looked like the whole class object? Apologies but I'm coming more from years in the trenches of "classical" ABAP and seeing the light with ABAP OO!!

Do I have to turn on settings to do split screen on iMovie?

Hi, im having a problem with my iMovie. I tried split screening on my iMovie and it didnt give me an option to do so. I was wondering if there is a setting that i have to turn on to get certain options? Like green screen and side-by-side. Please help ASAP

How to do a locked split-screen between two different video tracks

I'm creating two time-lapse videos and then I'm planning to to play them side-by-side in one sequence.
The way I was planning to do this was to scoot one video track over using the "center" tool in the motion panel, and then crop it on its right-hand edge to reveal the other video track beneath.
The problem with doing this however is that, as the camera gets bumped or moved slightly as the months go on, and I then have to cut and reposition the "center" location for the clip, I have to then adjust the amount of crop on that video clip since I've moved its position. This means the center split-screen location keeps changing as I move the video around.
Is there a way where I can just lock the split screen smack in the middle of the frame as I tinker with each side of the frame (video track) independently? I tried adding a split-screen transition in the very beginning to the top track, but I can't make cuts on a transition to then adjust the motion attributes.
Any ideas on how to simplify this process would really be appreciated. Originally, I thought there was no easier way to do this, but I was so blown away by all the answers to my motion effects question today (and all the things I never knew about FCP) that I thought it wouldn't hurt to see if someone out there had one more ace up their sleeve. If not, I'll assume this is one of those things that can't be simplified anymore than what I'm doing.

Though David's Motion Tracking suggestion would eliminate alot of later finagling, you could try something similar to Reink's, without using Photoshop.
Try this...
1. In a seperate timeline, drop a Matte/Color Solid into the new timeline (using dropdown at bottom right of Viewer window).
2. Dbl-click the color solid, click on Controls tab and set Parameters as H/0, S/0, B/100. Then click the Motion tab/Crop Right-50.
3. Click the Viewer's Video tab and go to Export/QTConversion/Still Image (png) and name it something like WhiteMatte_CropR50.
4. Import that into your project.
5. Now with your two timelapse clips on V1 and V2 with in/out points at head/tails and both tracks highlighted...'Nest' the sequence...Main Menu/Sequence/Nest Item(s).
6. Next, with the nested sequence active (single clip will look light purple)...option-double click on it and and drop an Image Mask Filter on it, then drag the WhiteMatte.png clip into the 'image well' (little box that has a question mark in it). Keep the channel on Luminance.
7. Now, if you dbl-click the nest, it will open it's host sequence, that you can do your 'Motion Tab/Centering' on, without affecting the 50% split down the middle.
May seem like alot of work, but it's not really.

Precise dimensioning a clip for a split screen...

Anyone got an idea how I can Crop / Scale / whatever ...a bunch of clips to achieve precise dimensions from within Premiere..
eg 640 x 360
I am creating a 9 way split screen within a 1920 x 1080 dimension sequence.
It becomes an eleven layer sequence when graphics and logos are included.
(Worthy of noting. Premiere plays this all in real time thanx to the miracle of CUDA and MPE)
The clips are from a variety of sources - mxf, dv,1080p, 720p avi etc...
The trick is to get the exact dimension required to neatly fit the 1080p. and create precise edges that align.
(Note: Crop works in % and not pixels. This makes the exercise difficult and especially when scaling is also required)
Positioning the clips in the Full frame is not an issue.
Now.. I know I could create a 640 x 360 sequence and then nest them. but this is really slow and inflexible considering I have lots of them to do and need the ability to change them out at the whim of the client.
AFter Effects is not a real option either for same reason.
Hopefully someone has a smart idea for me on this.
ASIDE: It would be great to have Rulers in the Premiere Titler. Anyone else think so?

Creating the grid was the easy part. I did it in PS.
I also have created the split screen but it is not as precise as it needs to be. A couple of pixels error either way in positioning oir scaling is quite visible on a large monitor. I do not want to put a grid pattern over the top to hide the "joins".
I am not looking for an automation to the workflow but simply a way of cropping and scaling a clip to fit the dimension ( eg 640 x 360).
It can be done entirely manually with Crop and Scale but of course...there is no way of knowing what dimension you have achieved and it relies on the "eyeometer" when postioning the clip into the grid. This is also very slow and has no flexibility to rearrange the images.

While reading PDF document using Speak Screen option, iBooks doesn't turn pages automatically

I have been using the speak screen option in iOS 8 to read books and pdf documents in iBooks app. iBooks app turned pages automatically and kept on reading the screen till i updated my phone to iOS8.3. Now, the app stops reading the screen once the page is completed. I have to stop my vehicle, unlock phone, open iBooks app, swipe down with two fingers. It's irritating.
Earlier, I have read dozens of books and pdf documents using this function while doing exercise or routine tasks. now it's not possible unless someone helps.

Unfortunately, I am having precisely the same issue since updating to iOS 8.3 with my iPhone 5s.
I just filled out a bug report here > https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html, which I've often read on these forums is the best way to get some resolution. I don't know if you read the list of "fixes" for 8.3 or not (here: iOS 8.3), but, it includes the following:
"Fixes an issue in Speak Screen where speech will not start again after pausing"
So...apparently, in fixing THAT problem, they broke something else. At least for some of us...
<Note to self: WAIT even longer than usual to do updates, read about bugs first.>
