Split x2 lock screen rotation

i have just purchased the xp split x2 and love it but there is one thing that is make or break for me..
i cannot seem to get the screen to lock in one position, if the laptop goes a touch to an angle it will rotate, this is a problem because if you are watching a video it will cause the web browser to lock up and you loose the video and have to re start.
I am sure that i am missing something because every device i can think of like iphones have a function to lock the screen from rotating but i just cant seem to find it and nothing comes up in google.
help please

There are 3 ways to do this
1. In the charms menu click settings, click screen and click the rotation button at the top of the brightness slider
2. using the physical  keyboard press windows key and and the letter o at the same time
or 3.
Right click on your Desktop and select the Screen resolution option from the context menu.
When the Control Panel applet loads, uncheck the Allow the screen to auto-rotate checkbox.
Glad that you are enjoying your split x2!
Don't forget to give me kudos if I helped!

You cannot do two different simultaneous VISA writes over a serial bus. There is a single rx line on the pc's com port and a single rx line on the instrument. You only hope is if the instrument allows you to chain commands and the reception of the carriage return triggers the instrument to implement both at the same time. Maybe you can send CTS01 and CTS02 separated by a space or comma. The manual should tell you if that's possible or maybe you need to ask the manufacturer.

  • No split keyboard lock screen?

ios5, ipad 2 -- split keyboard doesn't seem to work on the lock screen? Is that normal?

You can use the keyboard on the lock screen? Can you explain that to me because I really have never heard of that. When does the keyboard pop up or when is the keyboard accessible on the lock screen of the iPad?
If you are talking about the passcode lock, even though I do not use that feature, I would guess that the spilt keyboard is not accessible there. There would really be no need for the split keyboard in order to enter the passcode.
I may be wrong about this and if so, someone please enlighten me as well.

I am trying to lock the screen orientation on A1000L in the landscape mode.  Under accessibility there is a setting to AUTO-rotate screen.  Before unchecking the option I hold the tablet in the horizontal mode. As soon as i do, the screen flips to portrait mode.
Any suggestions?  I can lock my A2107 in landscapem but the A1000 is for my mother-in-law.

If that didn't work, its your system's problem (I mean it is not included in your system). So you can try this app from playstore to solve your issue:-

  • Why won't my iPhone 4 screen rotate and why do my apps launch upside down?

Hi, I've had my iPhone 4 for maybe a month now and it's been working completely fine until today some problems developed.
    1. My screen won't rotate when using apps, text, etc. even though I have screen rotation unlocked.
    2. When opening some of my apps (example: Cleverbot, Bejeweled) they launch upside down for some reason, but only when I have screen rotation unlocked. If I lock screen rotation they launch upright.
P.S. Screen rotation and the apps were working completely fine up until today all of a sudden they stopped working right and I have no idea what I could have done to cause it.

    To be precise:
Check to see if Screen Lock is ON, then turn it OFF. Press Home Button twice quickly > scroll new bottom row to the right > Tap Screen Lock icon on left side.
NOT the little icon at the top of the screen.

  • Lock screen option on the ipad

why did you guys get rid of the lock screen on the ipad it was really a good option to have

Wow - you mean how do you lock the screen orientation. I would have never guessed that. You can still lock the screen. If the side switch didn't do it - it is in the task bar at the bottom when you double tap the home button and swipe to the right. Read this.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

So does this mean that I cannot have rotation lock off and the mute function off at the same time? In other words, can I have my screen rotate automatically as I hold my iPad in either portrait or landscape AND hear sounds from my apps at the same time?

In other words, can I have my screen rotate automatically as I hold my iPad in either portrait or landscape AND hear sounds from my apps at the same time?
Yes, you can. You can configure the Side Switch (above the volume button) either as Mute switch or Rotation lock.
Settings > General > Use Side Switch to: choose what you like the Side Switch to function as.

  • How can I quit my iPhoto screen that as crashed and locked on. The locked screen has no iPhoto file list on the left and the part of the screen that should have uploaded photos is blank except for the rotating download icon in the centre of screen. Help?I

My SD card reader has caused my iPhoto screen to be locked with no list of files on the lefthand side and a blank main photo area apart from the rotating download icon operating in the centre of the photo part of the screen.
I have tried to quit iphoto but when I restart it the same locked screen appears.
I believe I caused this problem when I removed my SD device without first ejecting it when the blank screen appeared without downloading my new photos.
Can anyone help a 66 year old computer illiterate fool ?.
    Regards

Use Force Quit (under the Apple menu at the top) to close iPhoto.  Then try opening it again.  If it locks up again force quit and try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists.
If the problem does not persist try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If the problem persists in the test library do the following:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • A small symbol has come up on my i phone 4 left hand side of the battery. looks like a small padlock with an arrow going round it. i cannot seem to get rid of it? it was not there originally. i understand its the lock that stops the screen rotating.

A small symbol has come up to the left of the battery symbol. i have found out that this is the screen rotation lock. not sure hoe this has been turned on and i cant seem to turn it off. I read that there is a button above the volume control on the i pad which turns it off, but this does not work on the i phone4?

    Try this:
-double click the Home button: this will make the System Tray appear at the bottom of the screen.
-if you do not see the screen orientation lock button then flick to the right: once you see the screen orientation lock button, just tap it. That will change it back.
    I hope this helps!

  • Screen rotation locked iphone 5 s

My iphone 5s will not come off the "locked rotation" I've tried all the forum tricks still nothing! Please help!

    Hi ,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your screen will not rotate as expected, try these troubleshooting steps:
Not all iOS apps are designed to rotate. Some may use only portrait or landscape mode, or switch depending on the content. To test screen rotation, open the Calculator app that comes with your device. If the screen does not rotate as expected while using the calculator app, continue troubleshooting.
If the issue persists, restart your iOS device.
If the screen remains locked, back up and restore your device.
If the display orientation still will not change when rotating your device, follow these troubleshooting steps.
You can find the article with these steps here:

  • K1 screen rotation lock problem

To all the experts on the board,
I bought a K1 tablet and played with it for a week. After the system updates, everything works reasonably well except the screen rotation lock. I push the screen lock button down as instructed, but the screen still rotates. Any idea how to fix the problem? Many thanks in advance!

I've had the K1 for over a year now and I have noticed some trends with the rotation lock slider not working correctly.
First off, I want to make clear that when I say the slider isn't working correctly, I mean that even with the Rotation Lock OFF, the screen stays in whatever position it was last in, whether it's portrait or landscape, no matter how much I move or reorient the tablet. The notification for the slider pops up on the screen as if it were working normally switching between locked and unlocked, so it doesn't seem like a hardware issue.
When the rotation lock does stop functioning, a system reset serves to fix the issue for a while. After a few days on standby or with intermittent use, the rotation lock stops working again.
As a side note, applications that are landscape only can force the tablet out of portrait and applications that are portrait only can force the tablet out of landscape, however when the applications close, it's hit or miss if the tablet stays in the new orientation or jumps back to the old one.
Also, I have noticed that the rotation lock never started acting up until after I inserted a microSD card. Can anyone else verify that this trend happened for them as well? What's even stranger is the fact that at first the card wouldn't even mount, but as soon as it was inside the tablet, that's when I noticed the rotation lock wasn't responding. It was a 32GB microSD high capacity, so I chocked it up to the firmware of the tablet not being compatible with such a large sized microSD card. I tried a smaller microSD card andeverything seemed to work fine. The only reason why I went back to the 32GB card is that I happened to try it some time later and the system was able to read it.
I really like the tablet and it's kind of frustrating that there's still not really a good solution to this. Any feedback or help would be appreciated.
    Thank you kindly,
    MW
