Splitter for my headphone/speaker jack.

I need a spliter or some device I can plug into my speaker jack for recording. I don't want to unplugged my headphones and plug in my external speakers over and over again. Any suggestions?

There's cheap headphones splitters (like this one) that will probably do the job.

    Hi all
To be frank, some of the multimedia laptops, with SRS Premium Sound, etc. are having the same speakers as W510 / W520 and is very loud (AFAIK, Dell Inspiron N5110 have the same speakers as W520 and the placement is just below the palmrest like surround sound). Theoretically, it makes the sound less focus and soft, but it works well with that laptop.
The Mic and Speakers are powered by the amp / drivers. The hardware in fact is very good, the only problem with it is the driver / software not well written. Good Hardware + Bad Software = Bad Product.
If you want a better sound / mic, you could try my Dolby Home Theater v4 solutions, hopefully it could meet more than your expectations and solve your problems without any cost. In fact, Dolby GUI is more customizable than Conexant. Most of us would not think it's more complicated, as techies would prefers more options to have fun.
    1. I don't even need a external mic, an internal mic does the job with this fix.
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/W520-bad-microphone-Usable/m-p/528497
    2. Dolby makes the sound much better and louder with correct settings. If not, my post are not able to stay active till now, reaching 100+ posts.

    Installation steps:
Simplifications of installing and optimizing Dolby Home Theater v4 threads. Message 77 and 78 + Attachment.
    3. Get a USB solution only if you need multichannel audio, stereo / wave mix or studio grade quality, if you are just using for entertainment, etc. W520 with Dolby Home Theater v4 should be more than sufficient.
    Cheers

  • My headphone jack and speaker jack aren't working right....I think....

This has been posted in the Logic Pro section too....
Hi everyone. Is it possible to damage just the left (or right) channel on the stereo out? I still don't have an audio interface yet, so I've been using the stock headphone jack for my headphones, and the stock speaker out for my Creature Speakers. They are both quieter on the left side. I think this has been happening for a couple of months, I just thought I was losing my hearing a bit on the left side, especially with headphones on. Turns out I'm OK, it's the stereo outs that aren't working right.
I found out that it's not me when I plugged in my active monitors, KRK Rokit 8s, and tried both speakers in iTunes, Garageband and Logic Pro. I played with the panning in both GB and LP, but the speakers on the left weren't as physically active/vibrating as much as the right. I did switch the inputs on the KRKs to make sure it was the channel and not the speakers.
The left channel isn't gone mind you, it just sounds quieter, more muffled with less high end. Maybe even a little distorted. I didn't want to turn it up to high to see if I could hear distortion clearly just in case.
I'm really really hoping that this isn't a hardware issue (I know that there's a 95% chance it is). I'm really hoping that there is a small preference or utility app that can control the panning of the systems output and I just don't know about it. I'm still holding out hope for that.
But if there's no hope and it is a hardware issue, any suggestions on what I should do?
Thanks for your time and sorry for the long thread. I look forward to hearing from all you geniuses.
    X

    Malcolm,
Thank you so much for your help. It turns out that the left channel was turned down to almost half in the Audio MIDI Setup utility. That is a HUGE load off my mind.
The weird thing is I haven't used AMS since I set up my computer almost two years or so ago. I know I didn't turn it down. Hmmm....
    Any thoughts in closing?
    Timotheus,
Thank you for the suggestion. Fortunately, I didn't need it, but that doesn't make your information any less useful. I learned from your post as much as I did from Malcolm's, so thank you too.
    Best,
    X

  • Looking for a headphone solution editing surround

Looking for a headphone solution when editing suround environment in Soundtrack Pro 2. I have a Mac Pro. Is there any phones that would connect (direct or indirect) to the optical audio output, or do I need to buy a 5:1 speaker sound system with headphone jack?

Hey sorry for the late reply, I was busy to figure out alternatives as harman kardon was a difficult affair to find and acquire, but the good news is I managed to get hold of alternative.
Sony I assume recently launched a Bluetooth headphone DR-BTN200 which is compatible to my MacBook Air , iPad mini and android phone galaxy s2 with ease, the sound quality is pretty good as compared to other brands of Bluetooth headphones I checked compatible or incompatible to apple devices alike, this is definitely what I was looking for, costed me 7990 INR, this is highly recommended for ppl who are confused, I carried my devices to the store and checked before I bought a pair and pretty much happy,
The best part of this is its battery backup, I have used this hours for 3-5 days but this has not drain even then, but I do keep this charging once in 2-3 days just to keep this ready otherwise it does not even ask for it neither the quality of sound drops after 2-3 days of use.
This is over the ear headphone which is very soft but it's get sweaty around the ear I guess that's bound to happen.
Do get back to me for any other details, would be glad to share with all :)

iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, running Lion 10.7.3, won't recognize external speaker jack, any suggestions?  Got a brand new iMac and purchased external speakers for same.  Hooked them into external speaker jack and the computer does not recognize the external speaker jack.  I then plugged them into the external head phone jack and the computer recognized the head phone jack.  How can I get the computer to recognize the speaker jack?

Thanks "a brody," my mistake, I was mistaking the "audio in" jack for a speaker output jack.  I have some Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers with a built in amplifier that I am using and they sound beautiful.  I do have them plugged into the correct jack, but was thinking there was a speaker out put and headphone out put.
Thanks again for correcting me, I feel much better now that I know my brand new iMac isn't defective, lol.

  • How to stick out a broken earplug stuck into the speaker jack

how to remove a broken earplug stuck into the speaker jack?

You need to be extremely carefull with the following instructions and understand that if you're not or you follow them, you may cause more issues than it's worth.  If you do it right and are carefull and precise, it will come out without any damage.
Turn off your system. (Shut OSX down, don't just sleep the system.)
Take a round/sharp toothpick.  Put a small dot of super glue on the very tip of it.  Don't put a huge drop on it, just enough for contact.  Put that end dead center on the headphones plug stuck in the socket.  Wait for a while for the glue to dry/cure (the longer the better).  Slowly pull streight out.  If the plug comes out some and then the toothpick glue releases, it should at least be far enough out there you can grab it with some needle-nose pliers.
Again, if you are not absolutely neat and correct when you do this you could use too much glue and then basically glue the jack and plug together.  I've done it and it works, but you have got to be precise, like brain surgery precise.  Good luck.

  • A1330n front panel connections - mic, headphones, speaker

    I have a hp1330n desktop computer
I am updating the motherboard to an ASUS p8H61-M LX plus
The front panel connections for start, reset, hd activity, etc. all work fine when plugged into the 10-1 connector on the asus motherboard
I am trying to figure out if / how I can connect the front panel 4 pin connector for the mic, headphone, speaker that use to be plugged into the 1AUX_IN1 connector on the old motherboard that shipped originally with the a1330n.
There is a 4 pin speaker out connection available on the asus motherboard - +5V, GND, GND, Speaker out, but not sure if I can connect the 4 pin wire coming from the front panel - white, blue, green, red wires (with some modifications) into these available 4 pins.
Or do I just forego this functionality after the upgrade and leave the plug dangling in the case?

I found this, I guess it is compatible with the azalia connections: http://forum.thermaltake.com/files/audioconnector_307.jpg
But I have one more question... looking at the end of the card, which pin is pin ? top left?

  • How can i get a pebble out of the hole for the headphones?

This afternoon i tried listening to my iPod, but when i was trying to put the headphones in the hole in the iPod it wouldnt let me put the headphones in and i looked and there was a pebble in there, which is pushed even deaper inside the whole for the headphones. i tried banging it on the table or my hand , anywhere and its not coming out, my warranty ended in October, so i dont no what to do.

you could try using a vacuum hose. hold on to your iPod really tight, turn on the vaccum and hold the headphones jack up to the vaccum until it comes out. just a suggestion. don't know from personal experience whether it will work. good luck, though!

  • Digital(computer) noise on headphone output jacks

    Hi
I have a dv9000 which has a problem with  digital(computer) noise on headphone output jacks. I hooked  it up to my car
stereo axillary input jack and noticed a lot of static noise, even with laptop sound muted. Only time there is no static, or very minimal  is when I put the laptop in hibernation mode. So I'm pretty sure it's a digital form of noise.
I have a HP DV5T also and it does not have this problem. So is this a common and accepted problem with all older dv9000 series laptops?  Or is there a problem with my dv9000? and if so, what do you think it might be.  I've looked at the dv9000 headphone output on the Oscope and I did indeed see square waveforms mixed in with other random noise.
FYI---When head phone is used, there seems to no noise or is very faint. Do headphones have inherent ability to filter out the digital form of static?
    Thanks
    Tom

i just bought a 4520s pro-book and i'm having the same problem but i DO hear the noise with my headphones. when i plug in my headphones i can hear every time the HD spins or a window opens or closes, and the cd drive is unbearable. this is driving me nuts because i bought this notebook for my music production so i sometimes spend hours with headphones in. i have contacted support with no success. anybody have any ideas?

  • Anyone find the cure for the headphones probl

the problem has always stayed. first time creatvie charged $20 to fix it. And this time they are asking for $40.
Now they say $40 is for diagnosis and repair. duh!!! its a common problem and we both know that you have to open it and solder the new jack or fix the existing one.
This player has become a liability and talking to the customer service is like talking to a stone.
anyway, have any of you found a homemade fix for this headphone problem?
tyMessage Edited by McKinnell on 04-9-2005 0:29 AM

They are not admitting it as a common problem because they either don't want to or the problem isn't such a big thing to them. Anything that deals with wear and tear is pretty much our faults, which is why Creative isn't saying that it's their fault. They might say, well you jammed to hard. You use the wrong type of headphones. You didn't put it in a protecti've case. etc. But if you think about it, this is what we normally do. We sometimes drop something or bump it here and there. Pull that headphone in and out so that I can put my headphones in a case. Then I'll plug it back in and then realize something isn't right.
All I know is that ever since I read about these complaints, I became more aware and careful on treating my Zen Micro. I'm still a little paranoid.
