Splitting my Apple ID/iCloud into two

For years, I've had just one Apple ID (and it's a defunct @mac.com address). It's worked fine, but now I want to split my identity... I want to have one Apple ID for iTunes and the App Store, and another one for everything else: contacts, calendar, notes, reminders, iCloud, etc. I'm sharing the iTunes Store one with my daughters, so we can share purchases, but I don't want to share everything else with them.
Seems like I have two options, both requiring a second Apple ID (which I've already created against a different email address).
1) Move everything to the new account, except iTunes.
2) Move iTunes to the new account, leave everything else and change the password.
I'm not sure if option 2 is possible.
Is there an easy way to port all my info from one Apple ID (iCloud stuff) to another? Most of what I've seen involves exporting and importing, one thing at a time.
Any other thoughts on how I might accomplish this? Maybe there's a third option I haven't considered.
Thanks!

Everything can be migrated from your iOS device except Notes and any synced documents, such as iWork documents.  Your notes can be emailed to yourself, then recreated in the new account by copying/pasting the text into new notes.  iWork documents can be saved to your iOS device by going (for example) to Settings>Pages, turning off Use iCloud, then opening the Pages app and choosing to keep the documents on your device.  Once signed into your new account, go back and turn Use iCloud back on and the documents will be added to your new account when you reopen the app(s).
To migrate to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos on your iOS that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud, open each of them and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  If you are syncing iWork documents, save these to your device as mentioned above.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password (if using iOS 7) and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data.
You will only have to do this on the first iOS device.  On your other iOS devices, just save any photo stream photos that you want to keep on the device, delete the account, and provide your password and choose Delete from My iDevice (since the data is already in your new account) when prompted.  Then sign back in with your new ID.
On your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, and choose Delete at all of the prompts.  Then sign back in with your new ID and the iCloud data will download from the new account.

Please help, I am trying to split a HD mp4 video into two parts using Quicktime 10.2, running Mountain Lion. I use trim then export but it doesn't give the movie option as a format. What would you suggest i do?

I'm not sure why you're using a FAT32 drive, but using ExFAT instead of FAT32 would be a better overall choice as it doesn't have the 4 Gig limit.

  • How do I split a project in IMovie into two projects?  When I try to burn a DVD RDL in IDVD, it tells me the movie is too long.

I am running  IMovie 8.0.6.  (OS X Mavericks 10.9.5) How do I split a project into two projects?  When I share it in Media Browser to IDVD, and try to burn a DVD- RDL, it keeps telling me the project is too long.  Do I split it in IDVD and how do I do that?

AppleMan  Thanks very much for the information, however I could't make it work. I followed your instructions to the letter, in fact I tried every which-way. I created a dedicated file into which I copied and pasted the project from "package contents"  but it was still greyed out when I went to retrieve it. I also found that the file size was reduced to only a few Kb.  Any further step-by-step instructions would be appreciated as I am obviously doing something wrong.  Babowa  It appears that in imovie everything has to be "finalised" before it can be used or shared elsewhere in the same way as a disk has to be to be played elsewhere. Funnily enough an MOV file I converted to Mp4 was not greyed out and I was able to import it.... an exercise I am not keen on because of resolution loss during conversion

  • Apple account signed into two phones, need to remove one.

Tried searching for this scenario but didnt find anything exactly like my situation.
My wife got a new iphone and gave me her old one so i could play games (I have my Apple ID/ iTunes account). The old phone I'm using doesnt function as a phone anymore (no cell service) and I just use it on Wifi to download and play app.
The issue is her apple iD is still signed into the iCloud and anytime she adds a new contact on her phone it also prompts the old phone to update.
My fear in turning off the cloud is that this will impact not only the old phone but her new phone as I'd be making a change to her overall Apple account.
My goal is I want to completely remove my wifes content from the old phone (either by disconnecting her account or by resetting the phone) and I want to be confident that by me doing so, I will not accidently impact her account or anything on her new phone.
Can anyone confirm the best course of action and /or any risks in doing so?

sure go to settings- icloud- scroll to bottom- delete account-
it will not effect the other device or her account  at all

  • How do I split an iTunes account/library into two?

Hi.  I have a single Apple ID and iTunes library that I share with my son.
We would like to split the library up so that he has his own account and library on his laptop and I retain my own stuff on my PC.  We don't need to share any of the stuff in the library - he likes his stuff and I like mine - so all I need to know is how to divide it up and to move his stuff onto the laptop.
    Can this be done?
    If so how?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks.  Almost none of my stuff was downloaded from the Apple store.  It's mostly cds that I have downloaded and tracks I have bought from Amazon.  Would it be possible to put them into a separate account?
No. An iTunes account is for only iTunes purchases.
You can put them into a separate iTunes library.
The simplest way is to copy the entire /My Music/iTunes/ folder from your computer to /My Music/ on his computer. His library will be identical to yours.
Then each of you can delete what you don't want.
He can use teh iTunes account you have now and change the info in it to his own.
You can create a new iTunes account for yourself if you want one.

  • Splitting up a date field into two fields on display

I have a form that is based on a table which contains two date fields. To populate these date fields I have one date picker using a format of DD-MON-YYYY and two "time" fields that are just based on static LOV select lists. I build the date by piecing together these fields to get my two different dates and save it to the database just fine (using a process on submit, before validation).
My problem comes when I want to edit the existing records. I am unable to figure out how to populate those fields from the dates. I thought I could do it during the page reduring process but everything I try gives me a format error. I can assign the date to the date picker field no problem but cannot get it to display without the date format, regardless of setting the format or not on the item. I can't get the time off into my time fields at all.
An example of setting my start time field (select list of times only)
    BEGIN
    :P10_START_TIME := TO_CHAR(:P10_DTE_START,'HH24:MI');
    END;
Error I get is ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error
I've tried a few different formats and I think I am just missing something really easy. My static pick list in this case is just the display would be say 1:00 PM but the other value is 13:00.
The other one I am trying is for the actual date picker itself.
    BEGIN
    :P10_COURSE_DATE := TO_DATE(:P10_DTE_START, 'DD-MON-YYYY');
    END;
Gives me ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string.
The format of :P10_DTE_START is DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI (it is a hidden field) and :P10_COURSE_DATE is DD-MON-YYYY.
    Colour me confused...

Thanks for the reply...I got this error for the last name piece "A subscript must be between 1 and the size of the array.
". I was able to put in
    split({Usr.Nam}, " ")[-1]
and that seemed to pull  the last name piece of the field.
    Thanks Again,

  • Splitting up one threaded story into TWO threated stories

Is there another script available than 'Break frame' and 'Split story' because they don't do what I need.
For example: I have 4 pages with linked text frames. Now I want to cut the story in two at the end of page 2 and restart at the beginning of page 3 without any change in the layout.
So, the text frames on page 1 and 2 should still be linked and the text frames on page 3 and 4 should also still be linked.
In other words: cut the story in two.

    I found a solution:

  • Can I split the contents of characteristic into two key figures?

    Hi experts
I have a characteristic that represents a discount.  It is entered into SAP as Nnn or Pnn where N means negative and P means positive and the nn is a two-digit number.
Within my query, I need to be able to add this discount to another discount type (which IS conveniently entered as -nn.nnn!) and get "total discount".  If I can get the N/P and nn parts of the characteristic into separate key figures I'll be able to create my "total discount" formula.
This would be so simple to do in code, but can I do it within the query?
    Thanks for any guidance
    Brigitte

    Ravi
I already tried that but couldn't get it to work.  I thought the offset stuff would do the trick but it didn't work - I just got 0 instead of the two-digit number I was expecting.  (I put in offset start = 1, offset length = 2 to try to get the nn part of the characteristic.)  Also, I couldn't figure out how to get the N or P part of the characteristic as the formula variable dimension doesn't allow characters.
If you can be more specific about what I should be doing, please reply and I will try what you advise.
    Thanks
    Brigitte

  • Split ALV Column heading into two

    Hello All,
    I have a ALV Column Header - ALV LIST - SAP 46C.
Material   |  Info Type |  Quantity |  Price etc..
Due to space contraints and other reason client needs to split the Info type column into two.
Material   |  Info  |  Quantity |  Price etc..
               | Type   |
The data records should not have any additional blank lines.
    How to achieve this?
    Thanks,

You have to assign X to layout property no_colhead.
Then write your heading using write statements.

  • Break sap standard role into two sub roles

    hi,
i have one SAP standard role. now i want to break this role into two  sub roles. how shall do it.
    please suggest me.
    regards
    ramesh
Edited by: Ramesh Sammiti on Jul 31, 2008 11:00 AM

    Hi Ramesh,
When you say that you want to split the SAP Standard role into two roles:
1.Do you mean to say that you want to split the transactions and authorization data of the SAP Standard role into two separate Z* or Y* roles?
2.Do you want to copy the SAP Standard role into two different Z* or Y* roles and then modify the authorization data according to your company's requirements?
In the above two scenarios you must copy the SAP Standard role into Z* or Y* roles in PFCG transaction with the appropriate naming convention and make necessary changes in both the transaction data and the authorization data.
Please be clear which SAP Standard role you are willing to split into roles and i can provide more details.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I split one Apple account into two accounts?

I have 2 iphones using one Apple ID.  The apps are completely different on the 2 phones (wife's stuff, my stuff).  I would like to split them into two Apple ID's so I can keep them completely separate.  Any ideas?

Sorry, but there is no way to "move" an app from one iTunes Store account to another.

  • ICal splits one event into two, how do I fix this?

I have one weekly repeating event entered.  For the first two weeks it shows up like normal, as one event.  But two weeks later it splits that one event into two different side-by-side bubbles.  I did not alter the event.  Does any one else have this problem?  How can I fix this?

That is because you are sharing an Apple ID.
    On both phones go to:
Settings > Facetime > turn off iPhone Cellular Calls
I would also suggest you check here to make sure your husbands number is not checked on your phone or yours on his:
    Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
    Settings > Facetime
Otherwise you will get each others Messages and FaceTime calls.
I recommend that you each get your own Apple IDs if for nothing else than iCloud, iMessage & FaceTime.

  • Can I use iCloud on two Windows 7 PC's? (same apple ID)

    Hi!
I am a new user of Apple products and would like to use iCloud on two Windows PC's to upload Pictures and be able to see them on iPad. I manage to setup one computer and upload a few pictures for test and it worked, however when I setup computer number 2, nothing happens after I put the pictures on the required location to upload.
Please let me know if this is feasible and if is not, what do I need to do to enable computer number 2 as the one to use and disable using computer 1 (the one working so far)
    Regards

You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using your iCloud ID on your PC.

  • I want to SPLIT A CLIP. That's all. Make one piece into two.

I am looking for the equivalent of the 'Command-T' function in iMovie HD. This is one of the most commonly used actions in processing video, and apparently it doesn't exist. The 'Split Clip' command in iMovie 09 simply does not work for me. At all. EVER. I have yet to find an instance where it isn't grayed out. All I want to do is split a clip, and add a transition between the two.
While I'm on my soap box, the revisions of iMovie since V.6 are without a doubt the most counter-intuitive, joy-sucking applications ever produced by Apple. iMovie made it FUN to edit video; these last two versions make it frustrating and cumbersome.
To reiterate, I want to SPLIT A CLIP INTO TWO PIECES. If anyone here can provide instructions for doing so (as opposed to explaining why it is NOT possible), then kindly do so. Thank you.

Trey, I seriously feel your pain. I'm editing a wedding project in IM '09 and it is literally taking me twice as long to complete the project than it would have in HD. You should be able to make splits in the event browsers, but that's too much like common sense for Apple. They completely mucked up the editing process by doing away with iMovie HD, which by the way is not working well in Snow Leopard.
As for split, I suggest the same thing as above. Put the playhead where you want the split. Us shortcut key, ShiftCommandS. I had problems with it this morning, but it finally kicked in.
I also had a problem when trying delete a selection of a clip. When I clicked delete, it deleted the selection plus the extracted audio of the entire clip from which I took the selection. Not sure what caused that.
I have FCE installed, so maybe I’ll haul it out and try using it for my next project. IM '09 is a pain. I'm not even sure how it's more accessible to general users.

  • Two iPhones, both mine, using the same Apple ID iCloud account

I've seen similar questions but it is always being brought up by members of a family each with their own phone sharing an account. My scenario is different...
I have an activated Verizon iPhone 5, running iOS 7.1.x. I have an Apple ID and it backs up stuff to my iCloud account.
I've just received an, as of right now, non-activated T-Mobile iPhone 6. I haven't turned it on yet but it'll of course have iOS 8.x.
Both phones are mine. In a couple weeks, I'm going to go through the whole process of porting my number from Verizon to T-Mobile, but for reasons I won't go into now, I can't do that just yet.
If I power on the new iPhone 6 now, because I'm excited and want to play around with it, I should be able to just use it Wi-Fi. My question then is can I use both devices with the same Apple ID / iCloud account?
Obviously phone calls and non-Wi-Fi data will only be working through the iPhone 5, since it's the only one with service, and that's fine. But what happens with backups and syncing? Will new photos and apps end up on both? Will contacts, the call history, and messages (texts and iMessages) end up syncing? Will syncing work in both directions? Any other caveats or problems that I might run into? If it's a pain, I can just leave the iPhone 6 alone, and wait until I port my number over.
    Thanks,
    Manny
P.S. I've never ported a number or upgraded from one iPhone to another, so I don't know how it normally works. I'm assuming my Apple ID can "transfer" everything. I don't have much on my phone so it all fits within my iCloud storage. I don't use it with iTunes, or hook it up to any computer at all, or for music, movies, etc. Just apps, contacts, settings, photos, etc.

    mannyace wrote:
    Thanks for the response.
So I basically won't run into any trouble? I
There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that.  You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.
    mannyace wrote:
    Thanks for the response.
Is there any chance that the phones can fall out of sync?
Unlikely. But nothing is impossible.   Though I don;t see how that would happen. As long as both are signed into the Same Apple ID / iCloud Account they will be N'Sync. (Bad Joke)
    mannyace wrote:
    Thanks for the response.
If I get a message or buy an app or take a photo on the iPhone 5, how do I get those things onto the iPhone 6?
If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.
SMS Messages will sync over using Continuity as long as they are on the same Wifi network. Otherwise, restoring the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6 will transfer all messages received up until the backup was made onto the iPhone 6.
Images, can be transferred either through Photo Stream
My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
Or any Cloud service you want such as Dropbox, or One Drive.
    mannyace wrote:
Also, something i forgot to ask initially: Should I update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8 first or does that not matter?
If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important.
