SPM 2.1 datasource background activity when running report for first time

Hi All,
When I log into SPM and click New -> Report, the cursor changes to the timer icon before i drag in a dimension or run a report.
In SM66 there is an SQL read statement that appears to coincide with this front end behaviour.
Often this process times out in the front end with a timeout error and "time dimension value help failed".
Then if i go to create a new report again, a new tab opens, and it opens instantly and there is no SQL read statement.
Why is an SQL read statement occurring at this point before any data is selected?
Why does it take so long?

We initialize the time dimension when the reporting console is opened for the first time. Sometimes depending on the load on your server , this could take a long time thus timing out. I would suggest you to look at the load on your java server. Also , check if there are any background processes running on the ABAP side. Also take a look at the timeout limit in Application Properties and see if you can increase this limit.This might help initially.
As mentioned , the time dimension is only initialized when the reporting console is opened for the fist time in a given session. This explains why you don't see such a behavior subsequently.

Error msg when running Forte the first time

The first time I ran Forte after installing it, I got an error message. Does anyone know what this means? I got this message on Win 98 and 2000. Here is the error message:
"Some of the set of previously installed modules did not satisfy their dependencies
and will be treated as disabled.

The same error message appeared when I installed Forte on a Linux platform. I wondered if it might have something to do with the fact that I set JDK_HOME to the location of J2SE and not J2EE, which I thought perhaps might have org.netbeans stuff in it, maybe also the remote debugging stuff in sun.tools.debug. But I'm not sure if I should set JDK_HOME of J2EE and reinstall Forte to find out.

Set up software does not start when connecting ipod for first time

ABAP in Eclipse contains the appropriate sapjco3 version, but it is not found because the older version in C:\Windows\System32 has higher precedence. Probably you have a previous JCo standalone installation?
SAP does NOT recommend to install sapjco3.dll in C:\Windows\System32.
You should remove it and start Eclipse with the -clean option.

Error when starting UI for first time (Identity Management 7.1)

Hello. I've installed Identity Management 7.1 on top of a fresh Netweaver 7.0 (patch 17)
Now,I want the UI up and going. I've used the SAP-NW_IdM_IC_Install_IdMUI_7-1.pdf document as reference for setup. I can't find anything missing but still i get an errormessage when trying the http:// (Welcome)

I too encountered this error. After taking a look at the default trace file I observed the following error:

In order to resolve this, I had to apply the latest update (ICDESIGNTIME01_0-10007480) for the IDM design time. The update will add the missing column tot he table structure.
As per the instructions, ensure that you make a backup of your database before applying the patch.

Did you setup/activate the iPod? You have to do that via wifi (for newer ones) or conneft to iTunes and restore

No results when running KOB1 for Service Orders

We have a process with Service Orders where actual costs are posted.
When running report KOB1 for service orders with actual posts, no result is showing.

Try to check this options:
1-be sure the posting date range is corrected.
2-be sure the layout choosen is not set some filter. Try to disable all filters.
If you checked this points and even after is not working.
Try to run FBL3N for the account posted, open financial document and check if a Controlling document was generated.
Check if the account is a cost element in KA03.

Script runs not corrextly for first time

i have kind a strange problem.
Always wenn i run my script first time (after opening Diadem), it works not corretly. Specificly creating a report goes wrong.
When i start the script for second time (and each additional time) everything works fine and correctly?!
For understand:
- I do some (mathemtical) analyse - always works correctly
- Load/Append prepared ReportLayout, add curves, create text objects - doesn't work for the first time, then it alwas works correctly
The mistake is, that all curves (that should be in several appended layouts and text objects) are added in the first loaded report sheet (though the reportsheets were appended)
As i said, when i start the script second time (and each additional time) everything works fine as it should?!

yes i tryed with debugger step by step. No errors. Ironically with debugger step by step everything works fine (even for he first time)
It looks like, when i run the script for the first time, the appended report sheets are not active, because all curves are added in the first report sheet.
But why works it wrong only for the first time and then everything works fine?

Itunes application error when attempting to open for first time. HELP

Running windows xp pro, just bought new ipod classic, installed itunes software. When attempting to open for first time i get an itunes.exe - application error, error message that reads "The instruction at "0x100001040" referenced memory at "0x100001040". The memory could not be "read". Click ok to terminate the propgram. Click on CANCEL to debug the program. I have tried re-installing several times, cleaned temp etc. Nothing. Please help, i really want to start using my new ipod.

You have to unhide your library folder and adjust the user permissions to allow write access.
